I hope they keep it the same. I think it's really interesting with the "lopsided" chart. I also doubt they'll be adding new classes. We already saw a new character "Effie", and she's a Female Villager rather than anything new. I'm also doubting Witches because a playable witch in this game would absolutely break it with how Warp mechanics work. It's different in Fates because the Witch is optional and behind a paywall, but having it be part of the main game would pretty much invalidate map design.

Shadow Dragon's biggest flaw was that despite the UI interfaces, it still felt like the 20 year old game that it was based on. New Mystery is comparable to Shadow Dragon, but did enough to change things up beyond the Avatar to make it much more loved, while still being faithful to the original source. From what we've seen of SoV, it really feels like they're moreso trying to bring Gaiden into the 21st century while still making it feel like Gaiden. Gaiden's mechanics were solid and I don't think they need to be abandoned to remake it, because then it stops feeling like Gaiden. They're really emphasizing the original source material here because so few people played the original game.

I hope the magic system returns in its entirety, with the level up spells and the HP mana system. I would settle for a magic points system instead if they didn't bring back HP reduction, but I feel like this is the most Gaiden-y mechanic that wasn't in Sacred Stones and I want to see it again. Way too early to be making this jump. We don't even know if Robin and co will work with it. It might just be Alm and Celica.

Recently tried to make a post, and upon hitting Submit Reply, nothing happened. Then I took a chunk of the post out, and hit reply. That time it went through. Wondered if I hit some kind of cap on post length. But then I pasted in the part I took out, and hit save. Everything was fine. Not sure if this is some glitch or not but this seems like the place to report them.

Re: Sothe. He's basically the best character until Nailah joins the DB. Yes, Volug is more bulky but both ORKO everything and Sothe has 1-2 range. I could honestly see an argument for Sothe > Nailah in Part 1 due to the one range (and honestly, who cares that Nailah has 50 atk or whatever it is when both ORKO). Jill isn't death on wings yet, which necessitates Sothe more. He's also one of your best offense units in 3-6 as he hits the entire map for 3x damage (which basically means he's only getting hit on enemy phase) and I don't mind him in 3-12 for being reliable 1-2 range as well. Ranged attacks on player phase, especially with forges, absolutely break this game. It's the one thing I learned as a drafter. Apparently it didn't like the votes I put in but here are mine since I missed the whole thread:

Echoes, in English, being part of the title seems to suggest that this is a distinct possibility. The mobile game will create interest in the FE 2,4,5 and 6 characters, so I could that as part of the plan.

With how they've been used the past three times, this is a firm no from me.

E:SoV is FE15. If we're calling SD and NMotE FE11 and FE12, respectively, then we're obligated to call it FE15. That said, if Fates is considered as 14, 15 and 16, then SoV is 17.

Pair up can potentially break this game just like it did in Awakening. It's better off gone. Plus, if you played Gaiden, you'd know that there is plenty to do in terms of keeping it from becoming as bare-bones as Shadow Dragon. The dungeon crawling alone will keep it fresh. That said, I certainly wouldn't mind a Fire Emblem game without all the bells and whistles. I'm playing Shadow Dragon right now and the simplistic gameplay is honestly refreshing.

I'm largely referring to people thinking that FE Warriors can have 50+ characters on it. I don't even think the New 3DS could handle that many, considering it still struggles with Hyrule Warriors. Also these localized names are amazing. I laughed so hard to Gwendolyn. Because no one in FE can have normal names apparently.

I wonder if Echoes will influence the Warriors roster at all. Alm and Celica are getting their amiibos, and I'd be willing to say they'd show up at DLC at some point. Ugh I never thought a Gaiden remake would be what I needed to get back into FE.

Corrin is likely coming out with something Smash Bros related at this point. Best way to force people to buy a port is to throw in an exclusive collectible!

WOW! That Gaiden remake looks awesome! Kinda bummed that we didn't get more on Warriors, but a release date is cool. New 3DS will hopefully put people's expectations in check. I think this is the first time I've felt excited for a mobile game. That art was awesome!

You'd need to look at DLC selling rates and copies sold after the DLC announcement to prove this. People would buy it for Mario Kart and racing, obviously. But a whole lot more people also bought it because Link was in the game. People can have multiple reasons for buying a game. Diddy has been in Mario Kart. I'm talking about series newcomers.

The majority of gamers know who Link is. This is not true for any Mario character that has yet to be in Mario Kart.

Nintendo Kart honestly feels like the future of the series, so I welcome it with open arms. I'll never forget the reaction to "Link is in Mario Kart!" when it was shown off. Nothing Mario Kart can do from this point on can top that. It doesn't even have to be unique. People will buy it just because Charizard and Samus can race each other. That's why crossovers work. The non-Mario characters in the game have been incredibly popular, and I feel like there isn't a way to top it. Like sure some people might go "Hey Kamek is finally in Mario Kart" but the vast majority of people are going to do "When is Link going to be announced in Mario Kart 9?". I know a few people that didn't even buy Mario Kart 8 until they saw that Link was in the game. It's why they advertise Link and the AC characters on the Mario Kart Wii U bundles, because they know it'll sell more with how prolific these characters are. The average gamer has no clue who E. Gadd is, but they know Animal Crossing. [spoiler=huge boxart image] The boxart captures exactly what I mean here. King Boo, Bowser Jr. and Dry Bones are new Mario characters in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, but they aren't on the box art. But you know who are? Link. Inkling. and Isabelle.

So here's the damage after my pre-orders today, with prices in Canadian: - the console (400) - travel case (25) - 6 games (BotW, FE, Mario, Splatoon, Xenoblade, Mario Kart) (64 each) - charging grip (40) - portable charger (40) Total: $889, and I still need a pro controller (which is another 90). PLEASE hold an E3 Sale Amazon like you always do so I can get those games cheaper. Thankfully, my birthday is coming up but holy crap I was not expecting everything to be this much!
