Usually I just have whoever's interested just watch whatever FE I play for a bit to see how it works and I only explain when questions are asked. Then they see me rage/laugh at the RNG cause I'm probably playing Thracia and they kinda shy away from me at that point
-
All of this plus the fact that there are other midbosses in the same chapter that are more of a threat.
Elf/Zwei why do you exist
-
Veld. No super special legendary weapons needed or whatever (unless you wanna Forseti his ass) and he's just some dude who can turn people to stone. I suppose reversing that is something that needs a special item but you can wreck the guy before he even tries with like base Ced/Galzus or something so it doesn't even matter
[spoiler=And by that I mean Galzus can CAPTURE (or fight at half stats) the guy]

I'm also gonna rate by context
1) Megaman: One of the first characters shown and the fact that its another third party means a lot. Not to mention, for anyone who played the game, Megaman's movement and attacks were spectacular to see in 3D model form. I'm pretty sure this trailer blew everyone's minds when it came out
2) Robin/Lucina: There were lots of guesses on who this reveal was at the time, including Rayman, Shulk, and Chrom. Then the reveal plays, and "Lucina wakes her blade?!" then, after a super badass showing
by the best character everCaptain Falcon, ANOTHER character was revealed alongside Lucina3) Villager: Even though it was more of a reveal for the game itself, it still was amazing to see this game in action for the first time, as well as the fact that handheld smash bros is actually a thing
4) Mii Fighters: Reggie vs Iwata. Enough said
5) Little Mac: An absolutely beautiful introduction and Doc's coaching throughout the trailer really got me pumped up to try him out
6) Palutena: The opening cutscene was amazing and pretty funny, and the dialogue in the trailer was basically what playing Kid Icarus Uprising was like
7) Greninja: Really cool seeing the pokeballs fly in and the final smashes for the Pokemon, but it seemed to lack something
8) Shulk: A beautifully done introduction scene was all I needed to get hyped about this guy, not to mention seeing his Monado in action was really really cool looking. His English voice really irks me though and leak info kinda made it less suspenseful than it should have been
9) Rosalina and Luma: A really well done opening and it showed enough of Luma's benefits, like getting out of grabs and fighting two people at once. However, I thought the opening dragged on a bit much.
10) Wii Fit Trainer: As much as I actually like WFT, the trailer itself just kinda seemed lame
11) Pac-Man: If it was any other character it would have been a lame reveal but because it's Pac-Man it's cool. Lack of an actual opening kinda made me sad but w/e
Overall, a good opening and good dialogue make for a great trailer

Nosferatu/Resire having no weight and being buyable made it pretty broke compared to other FEs
-
SSB sorta introduced me to the series and I stayed for the RPG elements and the badass known as Marcus
-
I haven't really played much of Xenoblade so I'm not too hyped for this reveal (though almost all of my smash friends are)
I'm a little peeved at Nintendo bringing out a new 3DS model though honestly they did pull this crap with the DS so I'm not surprised
I know I'm the weeb here, but I will probably always love the JP voices more.
Yeah, Shulk's english voice just seemed really odd to me

Ness, Lucas.
Sorry, but I really suck with PK thunder, even with Lucas, which is why out of the two I use Lucas cause tether recovery but I don't main either
-
I'm suprised no one took a guess at my mains.
I'm gonna go on a limb and say Luigi/Mario
Anyone who can guess my main(s) is a legit psychic

A lot of the Melee remixes are absolutely wonderful and unforgettable so I really hope they keep some of those in

Megaman
Captain Falcon
WarioRobinWarioLittle MacWarioMarthNo seriously how have they not confirmed Wario yet they have like a billion other Mario characters

I don't accept shit from bonus experience.
Pretty much this and if the first level of the chapter is especially shitty in a high growths game like FE12
-
Mother 3, no words can describe this ending and no words should if you don't want to spoil people
Yoshi's Island, if only for the absolutely beautiful ending theme
Megaman X5, which is where the X series should have ended (though X8 was legit)
Pokemon Black/White, which also had the best climax of any Pokemon with a beautiful subversion of the standard Pokemon formula
Link's Awakening, which is an utterly bittersweet ending that makes me recommend it to anyone willing to play a Gameboy game

FE1/11: Merric - I've always been a fan of wind mages in general and having Excalibur as his signature spell is pretty cool
FE2: Alm - Dude stabs a god in the face and is a pretty good lord in general
FE3/12: Ryan - Shares my name so I kinda feel obliged to like him a lot
FE4: Leif - Master Knight on a character whose early game can be manipulated to not be shittastic? Sign me up
FE5: Leif - Yeah, same as FE4 but I like him in this cause he's a lord who makes a lot of mistakes and that's pretty neat
FE6: Niime - Badass staffer with a huge magic stat
FE7: Pent - He practically obliterates the map while being a green unit, something few other green units can claim
FE8: Duessel - Dude has super awesome facial hair and manly stats
FE9/10: Oscar - I usually like the green knight of the red/green duo but Oscar really stood out to me among them
FE13: Anna - Super utility unit and has puns for days

I promote whenever I can promote a certain character, they are basically glorified stat boosters that make you gain less exp in some games. Due to me low manning FE games a lot nowadays people just happen to promote at like 13-15 on average for me
-
My friends that played FE would have me arena grind their units because I knew how to not get my units killed doing it, but being that good at arena abusing is something that I'm really ashamed of
I ragequitted FE11 H5 on chapter 3 and haven't touched it since
I still haven't gotten every side chapter in FE7
I haven't played a GBA fire emblem in over 5 years
I have my Avatar marry people in FE13 that I like and not necessarily for the skills/stats despite doing that for every other character
I used Wendy in FE6 and thought she was a legit good character. Same with Sheema in FE3

But damn, I'm EXCITED to play as Ghirahim! If he's not playable in Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS, I still have him in Hyrule Warriors now. Hell yeah. :D
I'm glad that I'm not the only one looking forward to playing him in this. Also I'm super excited to play as Ganondorf, I was sold purely on how he just kicks open the large chests.

This game has eaten up most of my week and I love it

I've been watching Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders more often as of late. It's pretty good, but I liked Battle Tendency way more.

The particles on Robin when using Nosferatu looked like it healed, so Nosferatu definitely heals them. I'm guessing each B corresponds to a different tome, though if that's the case, I wonder if this means that there are a limited amount of times he can recover with his up B.
-
Is it just me or did Falcon's side B look faster in the trailer than in Melee and Brawl? I would really be glad to see buffs from his Brawl self
What FE have you guys played
in General Fire Emblem
Posted
All but Gaiden and FE3 Book 1 cause the translation I had for Gaiden was ass and I didn't feel like playing FE1 a third time
