  1. She seems... exceedingly thin. Like toothpick-thin. Arms, upper body, abdomen, hips, etc. Other than the proportion issues, the pose is articulated very well.
  2. If you're going for a purely FE-style portrait, the main hair part needs more shading. It looks a bit too flat with the large amount of the lightest hair shade that you have going on. Perhaps reference Farina or Priscilla or Ephraim or Tana for how they do it? (Also, yes, there are some portraits like Ewan that are relatively flat like this one, but then again, IS is far from perfect, no? There are more portraits that are shaded more than there are that are shaded like Ewan, so I tend to lean to the side that has more shading...) Everything else seems nice to me though.
  3. It's the Master Axe from FE5. ------------ For the axe, I'd move the blade towards the handle by a pixel or so, and then move it up the handle towards the top by 1 or something. Kinda the same for the bow as well. I'd personally move the bowstring in one pixel, as I feel that it makes more sense than having the string coming "out the back of the bow". I, too, like the tome designs. I honestly don't think I would have come up with designs like that. XD
  4. ...:(? Well, I suppose the lack of comments at least means that my stuff doesn't have problems... ----------- New map, redux of Chapter 14 from FE5. (I changed a few elements such that it doesn't completely mirror the original design.) First time really doing full-on outdoors stuff, so any critique at fixing stuff would be helpful. (As a note, I mainly used Eirika!Ch. 9 and FE6!Ch. 21 as references for the stuff, but I likely still goofed somewhere...) Hey, VASM, I still remember how much of a pain the chapter based on this map was in MotSD! >_>
  5. ... That was already posted, on the previous page no less. ------ So, barring any surge of discussion here about the game before the ROM leaks it releases on Thursday, this'll probably be my last time posting in here.
  6. Honestly, I don't happen to care about the shippers. From the thread that those scans were posted in, all I see is a bunch of people whining like babies that their fictional pairings were wrong or people rubbing it in their faces. It's all "Wahhhhhhhhhhh, ???????shipping is wronggg..... T_________T," and frankly, it reflects badly on them, since there's nothing they can do about it. I'm fine with whatever pairings they do come up with, but the thing that irks me is the fact that, right now, this is shaping up to be basically new!GS1, since the way they're setting up the characters in GS3 mirrors GS1 more than GS2. Honestly, the writers (at least from what we've seen thus far via scans) could easily have pulled a ton of stuff from both games, but it seems like they're pulling more from 1. Let's hope that they're merely keeping a lot of stuff secret at this point. EDIT - I'd say that, come tomorrow, I'll probably stop paying attention to this thread and the other boards and such, to prevent post-release spoilers.
  7. You could set Psynergy shortcuts in both GS1 and GS2 to L and R. It's just that now there are markers on screen that remind you what is set without having to go into the menu. -------- I have to say that the past few days have been a bit meh for me in terms of news, since obviously everyone had their own idea of what the remaining two silhouettes would look like. Oh well~
  8. I do believe that there are class slots for Knight(F) and General(F), even though they aren't used in FE7. (0x14(Knight), 0x15(KnightF), 0x16(General), 0x17(GeneralF), according to the Class Editor) Sprites, however, are a different story.
  9. @Proto - Alex may have his mind set on Mia, but it would take brainwashing on the scale of FE4 to get Mia to make up with Alex, considering her reaction from the Mercury Aerie and onwards. -------------- As for my picks: Matthew = Isaac + Feizhi Karis = Felix + Sheba Tyrell = Garet + Jenna (They argue like a married couple, that kinda leads me to think this could happen.) Rief = Ivan + Mia OR Alex + ????? (More likely the former, though, if Alucard can go against Dracula, then it's possible that Rief could defect from Alex's ideals and go with Kraden and the heroes...) Harmony = Piers + ????? OR No relation to protagonists Unknown Venus Adept = ????? + ????? OR No relation to protagonists This is under the assumption that each character in GS3 is not related to each other. If there are relations between characters, then... well, I'd have to ponder more.
  10. Not sure if it's been mentioned prior and not fixed as of yet, but Geese's face sprite in the Introduction section for Sword of Seals is being scaled down. The image tag reveals that the width and height flags were added to make it 96x80, but this has caused the image to become blurry.
  11. Since nobody mentioned it earlier, after the updates for Isaac, Kraden, and Stella, there are now silhouettes for, presumably, Harmony and the final playable Adept on the site. Looks like there might possibly be a magic-using Venus Adept after all... Also, if you check out the page with the Psynergy videos on the official site, they have Stella using the "Spin" Psynergy in battle. The main page also has a button that brings up information about the previous 8 Adepts, with a neat little picture (wish I could read it though...). It's probably just the whole, "30 years have passed, and Matthew/Karis/Tyrell are the kids of the protagonists" stuff, but you never know. (And, apparently, I was wrong earlier about the whole Growth -> Thorn thing, as the Growth battle video showcases either Wild or Mad Growth.)
  12. I took it out since I'm not sure how I want to finalize the designs, especially since the knots didn't feel... done. (Luckily, I have them as layers in my work document, so I can add/remove them at my leisure.) ------ The (hopefully) finished map: And, weapon level icons for FE4R:
  13. I should have noted that this is a bit of a gimmick map and it's also situated early on. (So, very few characters and a specific set, which I'm not willing to reveal.) I actually forgot to post the updated WIP version of the template here: Also, I have the designs in the name box as layers, so I can enable/disable them in the event they're too busy or produce too many tiles.
  14. (Tileset: 10007312) You guys get treated to a map that I have no idea how to do water for. The main, tilespammed water animates correctly in-game, so don't BAW over how they're all the same tile. What I do need help with is how to handle adding the more "wavy" tiles to the main water to add depth.
  15. Your mountains are cut off on the left hand side. I'd use the bottoms of the right-hand mountain set (i.e. the ones at the top-center) to help build the bottoms on the right. Other than that, I'd suggest making some of your areas seems a bit more... random. Instead of a straight line of dirt, make it vary off to the sides in places, etc.
  16. Perhaps they consolidated Psynergy animations further this time around? I mean, the Growth series now looks like the Thorn series, so it's possible that they used Beam's animation for Heat Wave... Also, you never had to do that to see how many you had on standby. There was a meter/counter to the left of the HP/PP information that listed it, once you had Djinn on Standby. (In fact, that information is still there.) --- And, is it me, or does it look like Karis is using a Light Blade in that first video?
  17. Except, FE6!Marcus is even older than Erik, yet he is still a Paladin come FE6. If the above was true, then wouldn't one think that the same should apply to Marcus? (Yeah, there's the whole FE6 came before FE7 thing, but still...) I mean, I understand the gameplay reason for it (because every other allied unit is promoted, so he needs to be able to stand up to him), it's just that it doesn't fit very well canonically.
  18. It wasn't the Niime chapter. It was 17 that had the water that acted like a tide. (Niime's chapter is 19, IIRC.) Though, I do hope that's what's being done, especially since that chapter was the only one that did it, in recent memory. Speaking of this, is there a reason why? Considering that Erik is still a Cavalier 20 years down the road from FE7, it seems odd for him to go Cav -> Pally -> Cav... You're forgetting ASD in there, Blazer.
  19. I'd maybe tone down the axe's dimensions a bit for that, especially since it was built for the regular Fighter and not a slimmer one. (Plus, going off of the animations in FE9, the axe would still be smaller...)
  20. You guys don't comment on my stuff, so don't blame me if I don't update this thread very often. Newest WIP version of the FE4R battle template (Ver. 3): Went for a Celtic knot for the designs on the circles, but I just feel like there's too much of the darkest shade in the circles. Yet, I can't really think of anything to do to change it... (And, I'm not certain that I really like this particular knot, so if anyone has any other suggestions, I'm definitely open to them...)
  21. Well, 30 years is plenty of time to meet someone and have a kid, so it's still a possibility. In both cases though (Feizhi and Hama), it could be conceivable that they had children with one of the main protagonists after TLA's end (Feizhi has a crush on Isaac in TLA and Ivan could have introduced Hama to any one of the other main male Adepts after the ending), thus already accounting for them with the current known party (since we don't know the full genealogy of the characters)... EDIT - I just hope we get a magic-focused Venus Adept this time around. We've already got 3 warrior-focused ones thus far, so a change would be nice... EDIT2 - (And, random aside: I just hope that some of the plot devices that GS1/2 had (mainly in relation to the Lighthouse Beacons, the interaction of the elements, etc.) go both ways if they show up this time. The whole thing at the top of Venus Lighthouse at the end of GS1 is kind of bollocks, if you ask me. Sure, Isaac reaps the benefit of being in the Lighthouse with the return of PP between turns, but he and Garet should have gotten fully restored in power or something between the two final battles considering that the other symbiotes were basically recharged when the beacon goes off...)
  22. It's possible that perhaps Hama or Feizhi had a child in the thirty year gap between TLA and DD, which could throw another possible Jupiter Adept into the mix.
  23. In playing Gold (multiple times), Silver (twice), Crystal (once), a little bit of Fire Red, and SoulSilver (not finished), I've only ever found one shining Pokemon (aside from Gyarados), a Shining Ho-oh in Gold (which was subsequently traded to Silver and then Crystal). Similar to IntegerZero's friend, I was having issues catching Ho-oh (without running out of balls or Ho-oh dying due to having a higher level Feraligatr and Gyarados) and kept having to restart. After 30 minutes to an hour of battling and restarting, I happened to switch Gyarados into the lead to try a different approach and proceeded to be shocked when I saw not one but two flashing circle of stars. Luckily, I managed to catch Ho-oh on that try. (Had I not, I probably would have been extremely pissed. Though, I guess I can be pissed now since the batteries have died in my Silver and Crystal carts (and possibly my Gold cart as well, but I never really cared about it)...) I generally have crappy luck to begin with, so I guess I'm not surprised that I've only ever encountered one in however long I've been playing.
  24. I don't think this has been posted here yet, so... http://www.siliconera.com/2010/09/28/golden-sun-dark-dawns-touch-screen-djinn-powers/ Has a trailer that showcases Psynergy used in the field and in battle (despite what the link says). (Psynergy used: Growth, Fire, Douse, and Whirlwind, I think, based on the battle animations.)
  25. You probably won't find them, since most of the rippers did the portraits and weapon/skill icons and then stopped. VASM did post most of the FE10 statsheet stuff here after making his own though.
