  1. Really? I only ever played the easiest mode (whichever that is), so I didn't know. I agree that the music sounds fantastic so far.
  2. Before we unleash all the rage, let's wait and see what happens with the NOA and NOE releases. As others have said in the other thread before, it seems to be more common in Japan to release multiple versions... of anything really. Music fans really don't blink twice if their fave's new album gets a release in two or three versions, and they're crazy enough to buy all of them. The fact that they didn't also immediately confirm that for the American release gives me some hope they'll do things differently there (and here). I just hope it means we get to pay less, not that we'll only have access to less content.
  3. I really, sincerely hope that's true! While I do like the whole map-based free progression from FE8 and FE13, I think I might like the other 'system' even better. I can't help myself - I always grind, even if it ruins the fun and challenge of the game for me. Of course, if there's no map-based grinding but arenas instead I'll probably end up doing that. Maybe I should just learn to control myself.
  4. I can't believe it's already been ten years since Path of Radiance! I remember being so extremely hyped when it was released, and locking myself in my room to play all day long... I didn't have much going on. Also, I feel old now. I LOVED these games - they might actually constitute my favourite "era" in FE history, although FE4/5 give them a run for their money gameplay-wise. In the end, these win out for me because of nostalgia reasons, since I actually went through the whole hype phase of hearing about it for the first time, watching news slowly leak out and getting to play it for the first time. Whenever I feel like replaying an older FE game these two are the ones I tend to go for - despite the fact that it means I have to dust off the ol' Wii.
  5. Ooh God no, not time limits, I can't deal with the stress, haha. That's one of the reasons I love the FE games - I can take my sweet time. It could work for DLC chapters, maybe? Introduce a new kind of challenge.
  6. I'd love to see a different kind of non-human character. I'm over manaketes, and while I don't mind them being in the game (they've become something of a series mainstay after all), I would also like to see something new. The Taguel were new in FEA of course, but in the end they worked exactly like manaketes (and their design was way too furry for me). The Laguz introduced a different gameplay mechanism as well, which I appreciated, though their design didn't do much for me. I think there's a lot they can still do with this.

    Children

That actually does sound really cool. I am not a fan of time traveling in stories in any medium (partly because I think it's often done very poorly, and partly because even if it's done well I tend to get really REALLY confused). I don't mind the children characters, though - I actually really like those, as long as you don't control them simultaneously with their parents.
  8. ^ I know, I've already decided to go full-hermit mode once the game is released in Japan. I had basically already read Awakening's entire story before I even got the game. That's my own fault, but still.
  9. The Awakening-bundle sold very well, so I could see them doing another one. I'd love to get it myself - my "old" 3DS XL still works fine but I'm a sucker for more processing power darnit. Plus I was almost kind of disappointed when I found out there would be a FE-styled 3DS XL just five months after I got my regular one.
  10. Oh God yes - Nowi-like characters make me want to punch a wall. In fact, why not have a huge, ugly, and butch man be a manakete once, if we have to have them in the game? Spice things up! In all seriousness, I know these characters have their fans (like every type does), so I'm fine with there being one or two, but I don't want too many.
  11. Yes, I hope so! I could finally implement the bland lord character I designed years ago.
  12. I wasn't too keen on the DLC in Awakening, but since it was so successful I can't see them NOT doing it. Personally, while I loved the fanservice in them having characters from other games appear, it felt very trivial as really they were just generic units. I'd prefer just a few characters appearing if that meant they'd actually get some lines, a DLC-story or simply some unique classes/items.
  13. Wha? Yes, I get that - that's my whole point. The EU release is generally later because it's translated into different languages, but here we get the English one anyway so it feels silly to have to wait.
  14. From what I heard it does sound encouraging. I didn't hate Awakening's story half as much as I think some people here did, but it was disappointing. I lurv me sum political intrigue in Fire Emblem.
  15. ^ Yes, that seems true. I didn't frequent this forum in the last two years or so (since before Awakening came out) and only started posting again today due to hype for the new game, but I was shocked to see all the hate for Awakening! (to the degree that it almost seems cool to hate on it). Critics loved it and the game sold a lot so clearly many people liked/loved them. I'm a series veteran and while it's not my favourite at all and there are some elements I could do without, I still liked it A LOT.
  16. I know I don't have to do it, and I know that this is all on me, but the simple possibility of endless grinding means that I'll end up doing it anyway, basically ruining the second half of the game or so for myself difficulty-wise. I did the same in FE8 - not that there was much to ruin difficulty-wise, but still Again, I know that's my own fault, but that for that very selfish reason alone I kind of like there to be no extreme / endless grinding opportunity :p. As for weight, I liked it a lot myself, but I'm a sucker for more stats. Really, the more stats the merrier, just give me an entire page in the character status screen filled with stats.
  17. I wouldn't mind a marriage/generation system like in FE4, but I can't say I cared too much for it in FE13 - only because it meant more characters. Having said that, I'm a bit anxious about them removing it, considering how many critics (at least in the West) showered praise on the game by heavily referring to its "romantic" side (which in my opinion was kind of painful). I wonder if removing that whole system (or slimming it down) would result in lower review scores and sales. As for the avatar, I thought it was fun but I never missed it in any of the other games.
  18. Yes, I get that. I would really like a few new weapon classes though - it's one of the things I most look forward to for each new FE game, and so far we've really only gotten knives or crossbows, and neither one interested me much.
  19. Even if this does a lot worse than Awakening, I can see them putting out at least one more, or a couple. I was amazed when I saw the sales figures for FE9 and FE10 compared to FE7 - yet they kept releasing them. It wouldn't have been forever of course, as we know, but it's clear they didn't just give up after one release with lower sales. Besides, they've now seen the series CAN be revived/revitalized, so even if we see another slump in the future I think they won't lose hope too soon.
  20. Yes, this was probably my main qualm with Awakening. I do not care for an overly anime-style design, especially since it unfortunately so often comes paired with clichéd characters (I'm not saying there haven't been clichés or stereotyped characters in previous Fire Emblems, but for some reason it seemed worse to me in Awakening). I was really disappointed for a brief second during the trailer when they transitioned from the battle scene to the dancing girl before the hype took over again. Of course, it won't ruin the game for me. I enjoyed Awakening A LOT - but I do find myself caring less for the world and its characters than I did for the older FEs.
  21. Whatever the US release ends up being (I can wait), I just hope the European release isn't much later. Awakening was two months later, and that was fine, but it's annoying knowing there's a fully translated English version out in the US, but we have to wait here for the game to be translated even though in this country we end up getting the English version anyway (and thank God for that). On the other hand, whenever there are gameplay differences between the US and EU versions I tend to prefer the latter, so it's fine in that regard.
  22. Although I'm somewhat disappointed with them not releasing a new game in between, I am at least glad they're continuing with the series! This wait was one of the longest ones yet and I was terrified they had cancelled the series. Besides, it's not a strange move, considering these games haven't been released in the West yet. I'm curious to see how it will end up. Maybe it'll even light up that ol' Fire Emblem spark in me ^^
  23. I think it's more what we're used to. Apparently, people in the US like knowing what's something about at first glance, which is perfectly understandable. Me, I prefer the EU covers. I'm not all for flashy pictures of main characters on front of the box.
  24. I hate Falcoknights and in the other games I never use them. However, I'm making this my "do-what-I'd-normally-never-do-playthrough" so I'll only be using Falcoknights, XD. But yeah, generally speaking I prefer Dracoknights.
  25. In case anyone was looking for them, codejunkies has got the codes up for the EU version.
