  1. I think animated models would be better to present the dialogue. It's easier to show of reactions and emotions that way, and we could have more lively actions during the talk scenes, like the characters visibly drawing their weapons. Also, I want lip movements and blinking back. They have been a tradition in the series ever since there introduction in the first and seventh game respectively, why did Awakening drop that? Why wasn't it picked back up? These simple details already make the characters feel much more alive.
  2. Name: Solaire of Astora (From Dark Souls) "A Warrior of Sunlight in search of his own sun" Class: Sunlight Warrior (Heavily armored class with swords and magic) "Disciples of Lord Gwyn's Firstborn son. Protect their allies with Gwyn's lightning" Growth Rates (Based on SoV): HP 55, Atk 50, Skl 30, Spd 35, Lck 15, Def 40, Res 4 Personal Spell: Great Lightning Spear (HP 4, Mt 7, Rng 1-3, Hit 85 Wt 5, Effective against dragons and wyvern) Personal Skill: Jolly Cooperation (Small bonus to exp gain for units within 2-tile range)
  3. What I'm getting at is that literally the first thing we saw of the game was that three of the Shield of Seals' five orbs where filled with swords from the financially most succesful game in the series. And then they even give swords to the generic OCs. The distribution does seem quite biased here. I also don't really think Hyrule Warriors can be compared to this case. The three games they picked are pretty different, and OoT, the most popular of the bunch, doesn't get much more exposure then the very devisive TP and SS. Also, the major characters (Link, Zelda, Ganondorf, Impa) where original reincarnations, instead of being tied to any canon game. There are more then enough major characters from the games that won't be represented who don't use swords (From the top of my head, I can think of Hector, Ephraim, Arvis and Micaiah). If they don't want more swords, including these characters shouldn't be a problem.
  4. I'm a bit annoyed that they de-epified Grima by making him the product of a mad scientist's work, just being artificially created with divine blood, instead of being directly of divine birth. Wasn't there a backstory that he's the fusion of all earth dragons, or is that just a fan theory?
  5. I'm not going to join after all. I simply don't think I will be able to commit to this, since I can't think of good ways to flesh out my current character idea well enough. Sorry to dissapoint you.
  6. This just about killed my excitement for the game. The OCs look incredibly generic. Their excuse about "too many swords" is complete and utter BS, since Marth, Chrom, Corrin, Xander and Ryoma all wield swords and the OCs do the same. Just admit that you're pandering to the new fans only.
  7. Are you talking about this trailer? Because if that's the case, what you're saying doesn't make sense. There wasn't any mention of the route split, and there was no Camilla. Her first appearance was in the second trailer, which also announced the route split and the return to more classic FE Gameplay for the Nohr Route. Thus, even if some people guessed from the very beginning that there could be a route split, Camilla couldn't be the reason the western nation was more popular when we only had that one trailer.
  8. A true Cheddar Knight? I always thought it felt familiar whenever I cast Summon Bigger Bunch of Mooks to solve my problems.
  9. What exactly are Overclasses for, other than giving a unit more room for leveling up?
  10. Is there a quick way to aquire Bonewalker Oil, or do I have to grind Bonewalkers and hope for the best? Spam Invoke to distract enemies and buy more time to take them down. The magic ring also lets you outrange the water dragons and kill them more easily.
  11. Dancers having the ability to fight is pretty pointless in my eyes. Instead of ordering a dancer to attack, it's usually a much better idea to just let them dance for a stronger unit, so that unit can attack a second time, and they're to frail for counterattacking. Something I would like to see is enemy dancers. I think this already happened once in FE5, but it was only for one chapter.
  12. Banned for letting himself be posessed by Bill Cipher.
  13. Shadows of Valentia and Dark Souls 2. I wouldn't mind a game with DS combat and SoV's story.
  14. So, after a stupidity-incuduced Game Over during the final battle, I decided to take a break and look through the forums before trying again. Favourites: Delthea: I like her interactions with Luthier and Clair, and she's a walking nuke. Her bratty personality doesn't bother me much. Leon: Great personality, and pretty reliable as a unit (even though he got speed screwed in my first playthrough, and mostly hung back to soften up enemies) Saber: An all around badass, and some story presence added to the mix. Genny: Nice personality, and Invoke is pretty broken. Unless an enemy can outright ORKO one of your units in range, it will ALWAYS target the Ghost Soldiers. Least Favourites: Clive, Forsyth and Python: Not because of their personalities, but because they felt like complete garbage gameplay wise from the get go. Atlas: Holy moly, he just sucks. Terrible speed and defenses make him a liability in battle, and you can't even fix this somewhat by promoting him until you got through most of Chapter 3 - He leaves the party if you go north from the graveyard before saving his siblings from Grieth. Not that becoming a mercanary would help him much, because there are three other guys competing for the good swords. Berkut: At first I felt pity for him during his fall into despair, but a certain action of his late in the story put him squarely into the irredeemable category for me. Now let's talk about Faye, because I need to put her into her own category to describe my feelings about her. I liked her when I first saw her artwork. Really cute. Her character description about her crush on Alm worried me a bit, I stayed optimistic. Then, when I actually started playing the game and read her dialogue, my first impression, garthered from her C-Supports with Alm and Silque, was that she was literally crazy about Alm. But her B-Convos mostly just repeated her one personality trait. No delving into her backstory about why she's so obsessed with Alm. The A-Supports didn't address that topic either, but I did genuinely like them, especially the one with Alm. Another point that also detracts from her character is that there's already another girl with a crush on Alm, namely Clair, and her interactions with him feel much more natural. All in all, I feel that the writers had a good idea there, but forgot to actually put it into the game. Which is sad, because I consider the writing in SoV to be pretty good, and Faye is a weak link in the chain.
  15. One thing I would hope for is that the true ending is no longer locked off if you miss a Gaiden. It could work like this: Any time you miss one of the Divine Weapons, Bern forces steal it. During the battle with Zephiel, a miniboss weilding that weapon appears in his throne room, and drops the weapon upon defeat.
  16. Another thing I wanted to mention: I won't have internet access next week, and for another two days after the weekend. If I sign up now, I won't be able to start playing properly until then.
  17. Well, can't use that idea then. A few more questions I have: Are robotic limp replacements allowed? How much time has passed since the Grieks attacked? Did humanity build it's own mechs before the invasion, or where all mechs created by copying Griek technology?
  18. So, you said "Rudimentary Artificial Intelligence"? Is that set in stone? I have an idea for an android character, but if the latest tech is only rudimentary, that probably won't fly. The basic idea is that the character is the prototype for an experimental combat robot which can pilot mechs, but also fight on foot when the situation requires it, like saving someone from a building that's about to collapse - something that would be very dangerous for humans without the protection provided by their mechs. I also have an idea for a human character if this doesn't work out, and I have to flesh my ideas out a bit more anyways, so nothing's certain yet.
  19. If you were as extremely paranoid as me, you would understand that this isn't enough. There's always the chance that someone accidentally blurts something out and I run across it. As someone who's very, VERY paranoid about spoilers, I just can't take the risk. And now I'll leave for good.
  20. ...Because there are massive leaks about SoV, and I'm really, REALLY paranoid about spoilers. Seriously, if I could choose a superpower, I would pick the ability to magical censor spoilers. (Admittedly that's partly because more exciting powers like Fire or Flight would be impractical in normal life) Until the end of may, fellow tacticians!
  21. I think chapter 6, being a post game story, will not feature the normal battle-to-battle progression, since the cast splits up after the war. Instead, you get a selection of episodes that detail what the various characters are up to (similar to the Elibean Nights Hack). Like how Kamui and his gang gather potential citizens for their new country, or Sonya dealing with that stuff that was revealed about her in her ending in Gaiden.
  22. The game being much more stingy with money. Instead of earning huge chunks of gold once in a while, there are many opportunities to gather small amounts during chapters. Raiding the enemy's supplies during battles will be an important part of the strategy. Have a durability system like in FE4, where instead of buying new weapons, broken weapons are repaired for money. Forged weapons are more expensive to repair. The Forging System of FE11-13. Additionally, rare materials can be spent to give a weapon a special property, but this will make repairs even more expensive. Buffs and Debuffs, although nerfed a bit. Also, the type of stacking debuff caused by silver weapons does not occure. Silvers are already limited by repair costs in my dream system. Useful siege weapons, like in Fates. Thiefs having the ability to steal directly from other units. Bigger inventories. Gaiden Chapters like in the GBA Era.
  23. My preference would be mostly the Tellius system with a bit of overlap with the Awakening System. Skills can be learned through scrolls, the number of skills is limited by a point system, and some units have skills by default, without needing to learn them. Unlike skills that have been learned through scrolls, these default skills can not be turned into scrolls and taught to other units. The overlap comes from my idea for the reclass system: Every class has a certain class skill, which a unit possesses alongside their personal/learned skills. Changing classes also changes the class skill, so swapping from Thief to Myrmidon exchanges Locktouch for Duelist's Strike. Some class skills can also exist as personal/learned skills. Class skills are not dependend on Level. A unit has it's class skill from level 1, and a second class skill is learned immediately upon promotion.
