  1. 95% of mankind dies and the rest is forced to live in citadels ruled by Immortan Joes.
  2. China had zero impact here until the late 20th century.
  3. Elaborating on it, in my country we study European history because we were European colony and therefore it has direct influence on our history. There's an effort to include "African history", which is a bit silly, since, beyond the Atlantic slave trade, there's nothing African worth studying to Brazilians. Even the African-Brazilian religions are their own thing, mixed from African mythology and Christian traditions.
  4. It's because of the myth that other communities were "pure" before the arrival of the Europeans, which is laughable. That was sort of true for some of them, but they're a minority.
  5. Make her eat a taco with pepper and chili sauce. If she still thinks she's a dragon after that fiery meal, report back. I'm sorry, I know this is Serious Discussion and blah's problem is serious, but the concept of "otherkin" is ridiculous, how else can I react? EDIT: Skurge's solution is best. If she's, like, 8, it doesn't hurt to dream a bit.
  6. Complete lack of moderation and reliance on downvoting to hide harmful comments lead to things like that. I don't want to gloat nor show prejudice but sometimes I feel all those people who make retarded comments on YouTube and most other places are different species or something like that.
  7. I think she needs to count it differently. She's not trying to lose weight, but to avoid ingesting more sugar than she's able to metabolize.
  8. Skirmish are harder than chapters even on Hard. Above Normal difficulty they're not used for grinding, but as a high risk/high reward way of getting strong items since the leader and maybe some other enemies always drop their items and these items are far more powerful than anything you have access to early on. You may not have rank to use them, though. On Lunatic it's suicide to fight skirmish. They're specifically made to punish players who attempt to grind on them. :D
  9. What's that? He could have chance of winning if he conquered Great Britain and USSR but that's a far stretch IMO. I think the war would last longer and cause much more grief had he been successful at that. He wouldn't win against USA by invading them either, he'd need to starve them out of fronts. I don't recall anyone successfully invading the USA after Independence.
  10. Hitler helped develop Germany during the thirties. The problem is that everything every German did had to be linked to the state and Aryan superiority, things like that, so lots of very ugly things were done to promote this ideal. Businesses were seized from their rightful owners to support the regime, talents and entrepeneurs with Jewish ancestry had to flee the country to avoid being enslaved and killed, and so on. Nazi Germany also had no reservation when it came to using "inferior" people as slaves or guinea pigs for experiments. This is far from being "efficient", as they would go as far as sacrificing the best people for the job in their goal of racial superiority. The German war effort also wasn't very good because they weren't as prepared as they thought, and relied more on surprise than raw power, not to mention the increasing severity of the regime itself. In the end he led the country to a disaster worse than its prewar situation so he can't be considered a good leader.
  11. I don't think Trump is fascist because he follows free market theory. In fascist countries there's "free market" only in theory; as long as you comply with the state's policies, yes. I think Trump worships the dollar god much more than a hypothetical ultranationalism. And I also think Trump would rather dismantle unions than absorb them as in proper fascist countries.
  12. He could be popular among Republicans but if they want to win the election they need a candidate who can sway the independents in his favor. Trump could be their wet dream but they need to look at the big picture. That's why it's rare for extremist hopefuls to front campaigns. Then again, I may be underestimating the GOP electorate's idiocy.
  13. It's really hard to be grey in this world because the bigots and loud conservatives accuse you of being marxist while the tumblrinas and SJWs accuse you of being fascist. If you want to be grey, be prepared to live the path of the loner, and be even more prepared never to reach positions of power, because the blacks will pick their fellow blacks and the whites will do the same.
  14. I voted Torchic because I like using it the best, but Treecko is a close second.
  15. You're probably not familiar with "Brazilian" culture. Whenever a referee makes a mistake, we say he was bribed by the winning side or the governing body. In 2002 WC case, though, I really believe FIFA was a bit "lenient" with officiating in those matches involving South Korea. Picking inexperienced referees to officiate big matches is a "clean" way of trying to influence match result. Brazil's match against Turkey in group stage was officiated by a South Korean referee who gifted Brazil a penalty kick, for example. I mean, when it comes to FIFA, we can never be surprised. The general public has no idea what FIFA is capable of, with compliance of the countries' FAs, which are corrupt for the most part. This Blatter scandal is only the tip of the iceberg.
  16. I don't understand how Trump could win. I mean, no one who is black or Latino would vote for him, in fact, despite voting not being mandatory, it's possible that if he ran, those populations would turn up to vote "against" him and in support of whoever is the Democrat candidate. Trump won't make it past the primaries, and I'd bet money on it.
  17. OP, did you just come out of a cryogenic chamber after staying frozen for 30 years? Fire Emblem: Awakening is a game made by Japanese companies aimed primarily at Japanese people. Hence Nowi and Tharja. I'm pretty sure it was rated T, actually, so what's the problem with a bit of skin showing here and there? In fact, Nintendo of America did a fair bit of censoring before selling the game in the West. You better not get anywhere near Fates, then. The fanservice there is far worse. There have been cruel things in most mythologies, from Greek to Egyptian, and even in the Bible. Humans have been doing this for millennia, and will continue to do so.
  18. Zidane was injured, and he was a big part of that French team. He only played in the last match against Denmark, I believe. I seem to remember not only Spain had two goals called back, but also South Korea scored an illegal one. After the 1998 WC, German football was a mess. The 1998 team which had won the Euro in 1996 was old and when most of those players retired from international football there weren't any good players to replace them. The German Euro 2000 squad was ludicrous, I mean they called Matthäus to play despite him being 39 years old, that showed they had no players at all. The only good players Germany had at the time were Kahn, Effenberg, Ballack and Deisler. Only Kahn and Effenberg were top tier. Ballack wasn't too far off, but he wasn't good enough to push that team beyond its limitations. Deisler was a sick person who succumbed to depression and couldn't realize his potential. And Effenberg had long decided not to play for Germany after disagreements between him and the DFB due to his poor behavior on the pitch, and also wasn't young either. The rest were only average players who'd never be fielded in international tournaments if the country had really good players to choose from.
  19. Well of course I prefer 2014 Germany to the absolute disaster that was 2002 Germany! 2002 Germany was the only German team in recent history that needed to win the playoffs to qualify for a big competition, and that generation will remain in history as the team who suffered the worst humiliation by a German squad in modern football (5-1 loss to England in Munich). 2002 WC was pretty fucked up. France and Argentina were clear favorites. But Zidane was crippled and Argentina... I don't remember what happened to Argentina actually, probably a case of overconfidence. Anyway, Germany shouldn't have been anywhere near the final. The aforementioned France and Argentina were much stronger, and Italy and Spain were knocked out by bribed referees. The disastrous 2000 and 2004 Euro championships gauge that German generation much better than the 2002 WC, even the Germans themselves admit it. Spain had the Guardiola tiki-taka but no forward men to score goals with. It's a shame they outlasted Germany in the SF because Germany played more offensive football, but Löw stupidly decided to "wait" for Spain and was engulfed by their tiki-taka until Spain got that fatal corner kick.
  20. The event was one of the best ever if not the best, but the play wasn't that great. There wasn't a team that brought innovation to the game, which is a consequence of professional club football being more competitive nowadays. Even the 2010 Spanish squad was a child of Pep Guardiola's renovation of Barça, thus born in club football not international.
  21. Tauros immune to paralysis by Body Slam? Really? Never realized that. With Double-Edge at only 100 BP and still giving recoil, and no Return, Body Slam was the go-to Normal-type move. Decent power and high chance of para, what's not to love? Tauros is fucking hard to kill, that's right. He has variety and can even be used to OHKO abuse (the famous "FishTauros") by paralyzing with Body Slam and then firing away Horn Drill and Fissure. Tauros can also do Blizzard IIRC which remedies his low Special. Reflect makes Alakazam essentially invincible. He has no weakness and sponges hits like a pro. Psychic has high chance of lowering Special so he's a fearsome attacker as well. He can't muscle through enemy Psychic Pokémon, though, with his best move being Seismic Toss which is just a compromise and not a true alternative. Exeggutor was emasculated in GSC but in RBY he was pretty strong with Special at full power, ability to fire Psychic, Mega Drain against unsuspecting enemy to heal, and status. Persian had almost everything he needed. Slash does a number against everything and Bubblebeam can nail Rhydon and Golem. If someone considered a fossil you could use Electric move like Thunderbolt as well. Too bad that Gengar stops him from rampaging the opposing team. Dragonite is powerful but everyone in RBY packs Ice move so he's not a huge threat. He's still a better Gyarados, though, if anything because of Twave/Wrap. Snorlax... No comment. That fat slob was a fun killer in RBY and GSC. Chansey is impossible to kill from Special side, has recovery unique to her, variety in attacks, status... Simply a nightmare. She got nerfed in GSC but GF thought they had to compensate for it so they gave her the new form Blissey for a laugh. Everyone complaining about lack of variety in today's OU metagame should probably play a round of RBY competitive battle to know what "lack of variety" and brokenness truly mean.
  22. Well... I know of 5 people from the magical land of Brazil in here (including me and you).
  23. I suggest reading things more than once, making logical associations between concepts you learn, and rationalizing why the concept is like that.
  24. Belgium is a one-eyed king in the land of the blind. They're just good enough to beat mediocre teams (yes, current Italy is mediocre), but nowhere near good enough to dominate, nor create good football. Chile is a sort of Belgium of South America. Chile is a good team but the only reason it was capable of winning the Copa America was that the stronger sides were completely disorganized despite having more talent. In the Qualifiers we're seeing "real" Chile. Everyone says that Chile are "the best team in South America" but forget this very team didn't have the guts to put the 7-1 Brazil out of its misery in the 2014 WC's Round of 16. The fact teams like Chile and Belgium are high up in the foodchain is proof that international football is at a mediocre level. IMO the German team that won 2014 WC wasn't all that great compared to other lineups in German history, it had the potential to play well but it had some unforgivable difficult moments against weak teams like Ghana and especially Algeria. Germany suffers from Reus being made of glass, lack of good wingers with Lahm retirement, Özil overhype, and Götze failing to live up to his potential. I'll give them a pass for the tiresome season, though. Schweini was heroic in the final. But the WC wasn't very impressive. None of the semifinalists showed anything different apart from guardiolized Germany which never shone as bright as classic WC squads, maybe with exception of SF against Brazil, but that Brazil was laughable to say the least, Netherlands and Argentina would also have a field day with it. During the German bad years from 1999-2006 I knew someone who supported Italy and mocked my support of Germany after repeated disastrous campaigns by Germany in the European Championships. Well, today Germany are reigning World Champions and Italy are the mediocre ones who can't even make it past group stage. How times change!
