Soul, not impossible. You'd still have Lara. It's just taking a penalty and we know you don't like to do that. >_>

Sety and Karin: Yes, I see nothing in the rules against it, and i knew everyone needed it, so I didn't make it like that. Just don't have her get attacked.

I'm really tempted to leave Karin, Felgus, and Brighton back in Jail for 21x and just have Lifis and Leaf escape.

Ch7: Shield of Thracia (9/85)

Karin went to go grab the Knight Proof, and everyone else ran. Leaf tanked and killed most of the Myrmidons while Brighton held the Cavaliers off. Karin captured one of the Myrmidons for a sword, and once all of them were dead, Brighton captured Shiva. Straightforward from there, because by this time Fin escaped and the Cavaliers began to retreat from Hannibal. Saphy got the Holy Water and managed to heal once before the chapter ended. Left Makua behind (aka 2 steps from the castle door) because there was no reason to waste a turn on her. Sorry Makua.

Oh, yea. Karin got the Elite Manual.

Ch8: Purple Dragon Mountain (10/95)

The bad news is, Karin and Brighton are hilariously over-fatigued (Karin was something like 15 points over her limit). The good news is, I get Carrion, Saphy, and Marty back. Really straightforward chapter, brought Halvan to recruit Marty. Let Carrion do the heavy lifting with the Hezul, Sety, and Odo scrolls at first, and he passed Sety and Odo to Marty after he was recruited. Got the Knight Proof village and captured the boss with a combination of all 3 characters, and grabbed his items including a 4th Knight Proof as well. Leaf seized on turn 10.

Ch8x: Dagda's Mansion (14+4/95) (Lara penalty)

After playing through this, I'm 100% convinced that it's literally impossible to keep Dagda and Tanya out of combat, unless you spend a whole lot of time abusing Saphy to A Staves and warp someone in. I'm not putting them as a penalty for that reason, but if you think they should be, I'll adjust. Anyway, split my team with Leaf and Marty going left with Door + Chest keys, and Brighton, Karin, Saphy, and Lara going right. Dagda killed most of the bandits but finally died. Tanya got captured. Just plowed through the enemies and got the chests with the Neir Scroll and Wrath Manual before going after Gomez. Gomez is a fucking prick, but Brighton promoted and he got hit hard enough by Wrath that Leaf could finish him off with the Light Sword. Took another turn to go after the Leg Ring and then seized. Saphy also hit B Staves. :)

I would have her, yes. But the OP clearly states you can't deploy characters that aren't forced for that map. And she isn't...

And, well, who does like taking penalties? I've already eating a 45-turn penalty total for Ch 11x.

Huh? I don't remember putting that.....Oh, I might change that I guess....>_> Plus Silvercrow took a Lara penalty in 8x.

I suppose I should remove the 8x Penalty, but that begs the question, if there's so much time for these people to be free, there's really no real reason to draft them since they aren't exactly top tier. Sure, Dagda helps till 4, but you have Evayl, and Lara can go dancer but it still doesn't seem like much.

Having a Dancer is an enormous advantage, as is having another strong unit in the first 4 chapters.

It's a question of whether you want it to be based on how people play or how people draft. I'm personally in favor of the first, I don't think it's fair to shove penalties down people's throats in certain chapters where combat is unavoidable because you didn't draft a certain unit, regardless of what tactics you use.

There is also minimum deployment, so people are sometimes forced to deploy undrafted characters.

I'm telling you, you're going to regret not having as many characters as possible. =/ Fatigue is a serious factor.

Also, I'm not sure exactly what to do with the Leg Ring. Leaf or Karin are certainly going to get it, but which? I'm sorta leaning towards Karin for better ferrying and the ability to easily handle ballistae, but Leaf would give much better returns on indoor maps...

Ch. 3: 8 turns

Marty died from just sitting in a corner with nothing, but I think that rule should be changed to "cannot be purposely unarmed to draw away fire," since later chapters make it impossible for characters not to get hit. Anyway, went straight up and Evyle kills the boss with Fire sword(I am really spamming this, aren't I?). I forgot to let Leaf use the speed ring and Lifis got the Life ring to help his survival in Manster. Grabbed an Armorslayer from the chest(actually didn't bother getting back in Ch.4, making it pointless lockpick wasting <_<) and dumped away Evyle's stuff to Lifis.

Ch. 4: 16 turns

Lara opens the first treasure door and re-moves(thank you movement stars!) to open Lifis' door. Makua and Brighton don't engage much in taking hits(I traded their stuff to Lifis) because of the NPCs helping out. After Leaf busts out, I have him open the chests to find his and Lifis' stuff, all I could get was the Lockpick, Hezul scroll, Light Sword, Fire Sword and a vulenary(not all in the same area, they were all over the place. I had Lara help find them). My plan with the NPCs was to have the non-draftees rescue-drop them off towards the right exit and no soldiers randomly spawned to ruin it. Dealing with Dalshit and his other armored buddies was the hard part, since Lifis and Leaf can't scratch them very hard. The best I could do was to wall them off with those two and Light Sword them enough to clear a path, since that's the only thing that can hurt them significantly. Everyone escapes except for Fergus, sorry Fergus!

Ch. 4x: 13 turns

The beginning was hard to get out of. Lifis and Leaf attack the east side with the soldier and everyone else hides at the bottom. Once the coast was clear(And believe me it took a while to make it that far!), I open the door with Lifis to let Sety handle everything for me. In fact, I let Sety handle the bulk of the enemies on this map, since both my draftees are gonna max out soon. The treasure was gotten and everyone left in one piece.

Ch. 5: 25 turns

The Evyle part was not hard for me, since I just let get killed off really fast and all the arena enemies go away. This whole chapter was pretty much one big camping trip, since there were a lot of enemies with 2 range and Lifis couldn't 2 range them back. Yeah, I spent 1 extra turn to let Karin escape, because I'll need her to get Misha later, and I'm willing to waste a turn for her. Chests were ignored like in any other LTC run.

Ch. 6: 8 turns

Lifis gets to promote now and start kicking some ass, after getting the Knight's proof village first, of course. All the misery I've suffered finally gets repaid by making Lifis re-move so many times during this chapter, which helped benefit towards the turn count total. Non-draftees rescue other non-draftees and run towards the end, while Lara hits the Rapier village(She's still legal in this chapter). That's all I got, the Knight's proof for Lifis and the Rapier, then I high-tailed it outta there.

Ch. 7: 8 turns

With Lifis and Leaf finally grown up, they charge towards the myrmidons down south and kill them like nobody's business. Fin does nothing but get the pure water village. Also skipped the villages near the starting point, since I don't think I'll need them.

Unit Level HP Str Mag Skl Spd Lck Def Con
Leaf 18.16 32 10 3 10 16 13 7 7

Fin 12.94 30 11 1 9 14 8 8 9
Evyle I forgot, but it won't make much of a difference, right?
Lifis 2.38 39 16 3 11 20* 1 9 7

Also Leaf got movement.

Yes and no, because the line is unfortunately fine between leaving someone in a corner thinking they're safe, and claiming that to draw off reinforcements (not accusing you of anything, but it's a potential problem). In this instance I might say it should incur a penalty since it adds a bit of challenge as to how you array your forces and such and gives you an incentive to think beyond shoving everyone you aren't using in a corner with no items. But some are simply unavoidable and shouldn't be counted against you. The ones I have in mind are:

4-6: Lara

8x: Dagda, Tanya

9: Maybe any one (1) of the Lenster Knights of your choice?

11x: Fred

12: Mareeta? Can't really remember what her situation is as far as vulnerability.

13: Glade

And maybe some I'm forgetting, but I think that's it?

Be glad you are taking ~5 turns penalties and not 45-turn penalties. :awesome:

With your team, you can easily end up at least second. Either you or Lancelot will win.

And hence why you're a Charisman.

Anyway, we'll see what Psych has to say about it when he comes back. Unless he's already done something other than remove the penalty from 8x (?)...

Ch9: The Noba Emblem (10/105)

Didn't deploy Karin because I want her unfatigued for the next chapter. Gave the Leg Ring to Leaf and Wrath to Marty. Everyone just went west as fast as they could. The Dragon Knights were dealt with by Leaf and Brighton. Afterwards, Leaf, Brighton, and Marty held off the large swarm of soldiers while the last couple people got over the mountains and ran for the exit. Marty with Wrath and a Handaxe is actually a really scary thing. Selphina and Robert just killed who they could, Robert doesn't seem like he'll be too terrible, the levels he got had fairly respectable growths, and Selphina has... a Killer Bow and her own Knight Proof. Got the Fala Scroll and Elite Sword as well. I think I could have shaved a turn, but I'm more concerned with just finishing the game than I am with lowturning and didn't feel like restarting. This is probably the laziest I've ever been in a draft. Oh well.

Chapter 9

This chapter consisted on Dagda, Halvan & Dalshin lolstomping through enemies here and there while moving to the exit as fast as possible. Leaf got a kill or two. Kein stood unmounted at some steeps (the +30% Avo terrain) holding off some enemies until the rest of the team arrived. Dalshin got the boss at kill-range with a boss, for Halvan to kill. I also got the Elite Sword through conversation.

Chapter 10

Shiva and Halvan were sent to the frontlines to take care of most enemies, while Dagda and Dalshin sniped with bows from the back lines (intended to prevent innacuracy). Leaf simply went through the path the guys cleared. Kein made it to a house, and retrieved the Rescue staff, and on his way there, he killed a Thief. Shiva killed the boss with the Fire sword.

And I just noticed both, Fred and Olwen have a plot-protection, which just explained why my characters kept missing at 90~ Hit rates right when they were about to kill them. Keep this in mind, guys!

My drafted characters not-Leaf made their way to the center of the map, and then Leaf catched up, and activated the trap, Portcullis. Luckily, everyone of my characters came prepared with door keys. They just made their way up to the boss, but I failed to kill him.

There was a whole lined up Soldiers blocking the corridor, so I had to make the ones with lower Mov (well, Kein was the only one) go first, and the ones with high Mov last. Ch10: Noel Canyon (9/114)

Deployed everyone except Brighton to give him a break. Karin immediately promotes, and her stats are now looking quite impressive. She flew off and grabbed the Rescue staff village. Everyone else proceeded forward in a line, Selphina and Carrion teamed up to capture the Fire Sword armor and grab that. Otherwise just pushed straight. Karin laughs at pathetic Ballista hit rates, I love it. Fred and Olwen were sort of annoying, but Marty on a fort tanked them well enough while Leaf snuck around to the gate with Karin's help. Mopped up the last enemies and Leaf onerounded the boss with the Fire Sword and seized the next turn. Saphy hit level 10 at the end of the chapter and promoted.
