Because I just so happen to be a fan and I don't feel serviced. Just insulted.

Fire Emblem cannot be all things to everyone. There are certain things about the franchise that I don't like, but I put up with them for the greater good, because other people like that stuff and it helps expand the game's popularity. There is a 100% chance that there's something in Awakening that you enjoy, and that I would classify as a waste of someone's time.

Listen, you only get so much righteous indignation before you die, so maybe consider spending it on things that impact you personally.

That said, for the figure itself, it looks really nice. Too bad I'm not a fan of Tharja. Give me some Lucina, Severa, or Cordelia and we'll talk.

Fanservice?

Fire Emblem is a fantasy themed strategy RPG... or something like that. RPG, you know story, characters, that sort of thing.

So how those any of this crap service a fan?

Now, I do understand where you're coming from. I can't say I like this kind of fanservice, either. However, I just choose to ignore it and focus on what I'm playing the game for: the gameplay, the story and the characters, which are all still there. In my opinion, it's just not worth getting upset about. You're just wasting your breath.

The sad truth of today's society is that "sex sells". Sexualization and fanservice have long become completely normal and common in media in general - in fact, it's kind of surprising Fire Emblem escaped this fate as long as it did. However, such is the price to pay to ensure the continued existence of the franchise, I'm afraid, even if that means it'll be going in a slightly different direction.

There is no thing in Awakening that I enjoyed in the first place. The characters are absurdly shallow, the story is a really bad joke and the gameplay is boring.

The best thing I can say about it, is that the atmospheric soundtrack might work if everything else in the game wasn't trying to be as goofy as possible. But as it is, it's a complete mess.

But okay, my feelings aside, the continuation of the series is of course good for the people who do enjoy it.

But every other series has people who enjoy it, too.

So why does Fire Emblem deserve special treatment beyond a mere personal level? What "greater good" does Fire Emblem provide that other franchises don't?

And if a personal level does matter... well, I would rather not have yet another franchise which objectifies one half of humanity for the benefit of the other half.

Obviously porn will alway exist and I don't actually mind it. At this point, my respect for Fire Emblem would actually rise immensely if they would just officially become a H-game series.

But it worries me to see this sort of dehumanization everywhere and in such an extreme fashion.

It's not to long ago, when No more Heroes had a group of girls just like Nowi for the purpose of parody. Back then, it was funny.

But Fire Emblem of all franchises, did surpass this exaggeration by not only having a little girl dressed exactly as the ones from NmH but with added marriage and pregnancy.

And all of this without the self-awareness of No more Heroes. No, in Awakening we are supposed to care about the characters. They are serious.

One could of course argue how much our fiction affects our society, But I have no doubts that it is at least a reflection of it. And it looks very ugly.

Unless of course video game publishers are just ignorant about what their customers actually want. But then there is no reason not to get rid of it.

And In the faint hope that I am not yet deserving of a warn or worse, I will tune out now.

Especially since we know how this one looks since no less then four months and we haven't even anything about the Marth figure.

And if the series stays like that, then I am wasting my time on the forums anyway.

Newsflash: There is no "deep" character in any Fire Emblem game. They stick to a pretty set behavior with occasional sidesteps to feign complexity. I love the series as much as anyone, but anyone thinking that Fire Emblem has depth like that is pretty deluded.

This is the only response you're gonna get from me, but I've seen enough of your holy crusade against everything Awakening and I find that more sickening than the fanservice.

I don't care that you don't like awakening that's your opinion okay. But it's a video game for crying outloud it doesn't reflect humanity at all. Your free to your own opinion on the cast but you make judgments off of very little of the game. Awakening is by no means the best in the series. But it has as much playability as any game in the series. It has enough of a challenge that its not goofy if you have the guts to try. I gonna goofy as you saying its so easy. Try lunatic or even better plus. See "goofy" they are. A shallow cast no more so than most of the series. The gba games are the only ones with any actual depth to them. Then this one is pretty close to the tellius games. If you actually spent the time to get the supports you would actually appreciate the characters. The storyline sucks. Nobody is saying it doesn't, but lets consider this. How much time do you think they spend coming up the ideas for this, and then coding them, and then trying in depth characters, and then making downloadable content. It takes years to do. They pour millions of dollars into the game and spend years developing game play. The last concern of theirs is to make the plot is something on par with The World Ends With You. Fire emblem has always been about the game play it has left the plot and characters as a secondary thought. And for the record Nowi is a 1000 years old. Tiki is thousands of years old and she looks maybe 20 I have to wonder is it possible that she is still a child in the world of dragons. But everybody is entitled to their own opinions. I'm not trying to force this on you but don't act like what you say is fact.

I have to say that the detail on that figurine is pretty awesome. I like the cape and the skull the most. Very neat. Its actually quite lovely even with the questionable pose. Not something i'd own, but certainly impressive on its own. I hope we get a Lucina figure.
