WRT holding a new tournament (for whatever meta):

I don't think now is the right time. At least, there's no way I'll have the time and space to host a single match, and I'd rather not host an event where I can't do whatever hosting needs to be done when push comes to shove. It's probably not until late May or so next year that I'll be able to fully commit to something like that again. Obviously, I could just gather more people, post the bracket and then just update the bracket when games hosted by others are complete. Maybe I'd be able to play too on less busy days, but I would want to take full responsibility as I always do. Even still, both times we had a big tourney event, we were very familiar with the meta in question (or thought we were *cough Nasir cough*), but it looks like a lot of the stuff has been forgotten and it seems a bit too quick to jump right back into another event for the whole LA community as such, as small as it may be.

I think we should use the time we have in what is for a lot of us a busy time of the year and have a bunch of friendly games to figure out the intricacies and possibilities of each meta. We still haven't played a single RD or TRS game even though all the info for that is technically available. I'm sure we'll want to make the most out of the Fates meta when that is released for everyone too.

I think if we spend the year productively with the time we have, it shouldn't be a big problem in the summertime to hold a tourney for PoR w/ cut supports/Rexflame and then shortly another one for Fates, or whatever metas will have been proved most appealing by that time.

I think we should take some time to establish more tier lists. I'd love to see a mock-smogon type of tier list where picking battles becomes as simple as saying like:

Averages Boosters Mids

Max Stats Lows

Averages CutSupports Mids

Anything beyond that can be custom, but developing a base tier list for as many games as possible gives new players a quick At-A-Glance approach for joining our LA brigade. Right now we have an FE8 and FE9 tier list, and a still in-the-works FE13 one, so throwing one together for FE4-7 may simulatenously inspire some more activity in each respective FE, as well as promote new members to participate in such. The establishment of tiers is a community effort anyway, and while things like FE7/8 are pretty black and white as for the very top and very bottom, the middle does fluctuate, after all.

I'll bring up the Metis Tome stat Box someday if people want to have some fe8 matches with Metis stats.

I would totally be interested in playing FE10 meta, but like, idk where to start. Iirc, we don't evem have rules for it. Can we start with only Beorc matches or something, and Beta supports?

Edit: also, skills are a mess, but I think Espi brought a list somewhere deep within the thread.

I think FE10 would be fine in a Beorc environment, if Mastery skills were more or less ignored?

Here's Espinosa's last notes regarding skills in FE10:


My attempt:

Savage: 3x str -> 1.5x str; still halves enemy skill

Rend: 5x str > 2x str; stuns (this is still offence capable of OHKOing a "squishy" target like an SM, but an Adept proc from Ranulf achieves the same anyway, and is more likely)

Roar: 3x str -> 1.5x str; stuns

Ire: dragons are banned I think

Aether: Luna halves defence instead of nullifying it; otherwise, it's fine and comparable to PoR Aether

Astra: halved damage rounded down on the 5 strikes

Impale: 4x damage -> 2x damage?

Luna: 3x str + 0 def -> 1.5x str + halved defence

Eclipse: BK is out definitely

Sol: 3x damage -> 1x damage, maybe 1.5x since Paladin caps suck? still full recovery

Flare: it's all right and tome users suck anyway

Corona: Sephiran doesn't suck, in spite of lacking supports, but this skill is kinda bad regardless

Bane: sure, let it stay the same

Lethality: I want to say 50% when critical but isn't that actually higher than the 20% chance considering Volke's insane +crit fixed skill? idk

Stun: 3x dmg -> 2x dmg; stuns - could be nerfed to a more consistent (with the other skills) 1.5x multiplier if people think Haar and Jill are valid characters to be used in the meta

Deadeye: 3x dmg -> 1.5x dmg

Colossus: 3x str -> 1.5x str is enough and maybe too much considering 60 str Reavers chop off lots of heads @ max HP already

Tear: 3x str -> 1.5x str

"1 Laguz per team" (with instant transformation for everyone) and "no royals/Giffca/dragons" seem like good rules to start off with.

I have the character portraits ready, so we can have our first test battle sometime very soon.

Some mechanics-related questions that I don't remember the answer to anymore:

- is it right that a hit needs to connect in order to proc a skill activation?

- skill activations can still crit, right?

Espi, I caught some typos in the fe8 averages, Seth should have 11 crt not 10, and Moulder should have 54 avoid as Bishop and Sage and he has 55.

So I've confirmed that FE13!Wrath displays Crit bonus. Cherche@Virion attacks Julius (has less than half HP) and Julius has 6% crit with Thoron and Anathema.

Virion has 35 lck (with pair up bonus) and +10 dodge from Dual bonus, which is a total of 45 dodge.

Julius has 11 base crit, +10 from Thoron, +10 Anathema, +20 Wrath bonus which is a total of 51 Crit.

Julius has 6% displayed (51 crit minus 45 dodge), so Wrath's bonus crit is definately displayed.

Things to note for future FE13 LA matches.
