The GBA supports page handles it well

Take AffinityBoost of Unit A + AffinityBoost of Unit B (*1 if C, *2 if B, *3 if A) to equal out to the boost applied. Each letter counts as one support point and each unit can have 5 support points max.

For instance, Wil <A> Dart have affinities that boost ATK by .5, so (.5+.5)*3=3 ATK for each unit

As in how they work? Each unit can have 5 support points, A support points count for three points, B two, and C one, meaning a unit can have an A support and a B support, or two B's and a C (or any combination you can find really). As for the bonus's they give, they're all listed here: http://serenesforest.net/blazing-sword/characters/supports/calculation/ Note if a support gives 1.5 attack, it's rounded down to 1 (or any decimal really)

So if you had Renault (an anima affinity) with an A support with Bartre (thunder), both units would get 1 attack, 3 defence, 15 avoid, 7 crit, and 15 critical avoid.

It is important to note that any decimals are rounded down.

For instance, if your unit has a support bonus of +1.5 attck/def then it will round it to +1. The same way for hit/avo/crt/dodge, if a unit has +7.5 then it'll round it down to +7

Edit: yes you can support whoever you want but the bonus won't apply because the other unit is not in your team, so that's non existant.

Yea

Running Louise with a A-Pent and B-Sain, but not running Pent in the match, means that she only gets Louise/Sain bonuses

Can someone confirm for me that Pierce ignores enemy Defense, and ignores Def support boosts?

Also, can Great Shield and Pierce activate on a whiff?

If you wanna have a Blazing Sword battle, sure. I'll play. No hosting, SF hates letting me paste stuff. Averages/boosters sounds good. Uber Spear or no? I'll be setting a team up.
