Things in the Fates meta that look bannable?

Masteries I think can stay, and royals if limited to one.

After all, we didn't ban them in FE9 and by proportion I find them more powerful in that game.

Masteries are just no.

Naesala doubles the entire cast but this time he has better attack, Tibarn has more skill for activations and doubles all but Naesala , Cain has massive strength and earth support, Nailah is good all around (the beasts might be able to get through I GUESS). Also, they all have the best skill pool so massive op skill combos are easy.

Also, Tides are iffy and -slayer skills make laguz incredibly weak imo.

Wow cut hard.

This statement contradicts itself because according to you these laguz are to powerful, yet certain skills make the incredibly weak.

And you can't say 'just no,' that's not how this works.

UNRELATED EDIT: I'd like to propose we allow the brave sword in FE6. All other braves are allowed and we have considered using enemy only weapons before (I.E Uber Spear, which is far more broken)

1) Masteries can be balanced by removing its "critical" effects.

2) They can be nerfed. Although their susceptibility to magic might be a nice way to deal with them, plus Resolve. Nihil needs treatment though. The idea, imo, is seeing the diversity in skills and activation rather than lolRoyals stomping everything.

3) There are only 2 Pavise scrolls (one removable from Tibarn) and I'm pretty positive Resolve doesn't increase skill in terms of activation rate. I don't know if Resolve affects this, although I know Resolve activates before Wrath/Masteries.

1 acceptable.

2. Well the birds would be weakest to Soren (lol no @Bastian), who they will just counterkill, same with the beasts (Cain might take two turns because his speed is awful compared to the rest but he's the most durable otherwise so) and Calill. Magic would not be the answer.

3. Resolve boosts skill. Skills that activate off it get better (resolve activates as the first thing so you have the skill activations after the skill boost (unless I'm missing something).

Nihil is fine imo.

@anon: first to clear this up, when I say laguz I mean non-royals (this is a general rule of me). Royals weren't included in that part of the post, if we allow royals I would say yes to slayers as a possible counter (it's not that bad either way but I thought I'd bring it up).

Isn't there an enemy control glitch in FE6 or am I just being stupid?

i'd suspect that the most likely candidates are trap tiles, but enemy control in FE6 is largely untested. if you can get it to work in chapter 21x (which has both trap tiles and fog of war), and if you can get an enemy to give his items to the supply, then the brave sword is obtainable.

EDIT: if deadeye also gives a passive accuracy boost in this game, a sniper or reaver with arbalest can drop every single flier except for maxed out tibarn, and leo and boyd can OHKO tibarn if their support partner also gives +atk.

yes, but you'd have to test it out. FE6 isn't as well explored, and there isn't as much benefit to enemy control in that game as their is in FE7. the issue with FE6 trap tiles is that iirc, they don't trip when an enemy moves over them (rather, they trip at the end of a turn).

For example: Capped Beastfoe!Marksmen deal 105 dmg with Double Bow

Nailah gets sniped for 65/70

Lions for 59/80

Tibarn gets 65/75

Nestling 71/70 #dead

Dragons are still threatening but much less than royals.

After said dmg, Royals can be finished. They're OP and can OHKO Archsages but hey we can have a special treatment for them, like only one Royal per team. I don't think they should be banned though.

Royals can just run Nullify gg

Why would we let them run Nullify when the objective is balancing them rather than make them far more OP? The idea is taking advantage of their weaknesses.

We can just make Royals or Laguz in general to not run Nullify among Nihil/Parity.

Eh...I don't know.

I feel Sol and Luna would work fine if they just removed the triple damage effect. Following this Flare could use the Awakening Luna+Sol effect and still be balanced.

Pierce, Stun and Deadeye I don't feel need changes, since you can only move on unit. Maybe limit stun/sleep to one turn. Also, Rend I believe is X5 strengthm not X3 attack, but I could be wrong, either way that should be weakened.

Ire and Impale can have their damage halved, so *1,5 and *2 respectively.

Flare can remain as it is. Archsages are pretty weak already because of low speed and the might of their weapons. Besides, you didn't nerf Corona.

Colossus is still OP. I'd suggest to go like FE9 and add 25% of Strength in damage.

that's just stupid. if you don't let royals or laguz run nullify, then they're the weakest units in the game. they get OHKO'd by any unit with an arbalest, which means that every team has to run an arbalest user.

bad idea. skills proc before critical hits and nullify them entirely, so most of the suggested changes, which would have skills doing less damage than crits take priority before crits, are not good.

i am not interested in making an FE10 metagame. there are so many arbitrary mechanical changes and team design restrictions that need to be made that the metagame is dead before it even gets a chance to get off the ground.
