Integrity Posted October 14, 2014 Share Posted October 14, 2014 (edited) [spoiler=the actual tryhard version SHOUTOUT TO SPECTA]there's a couple things that go for it I AM EXTREMELY PARAPHRASING THE BIBLE HERE because nothing kills a conversation quite like direct bible quotes first is the big one that people like to quote, about half of 1 peter 2 is a big bit about how you (a generic "you" not necessarily an ordained priesthood iirc) are all God's special peoples and are special and should share your specialness with other people so that they can be special. second up is most of the book of hebrews which is a huge spiel about how the New Covenant thanks jesus does away with a need for high priests and great religious officials like the moses because jesus has basically superseded all of them so we're all equal under him third up is a bit from ephesians 4 that basically goes "we're all one body so if all the parts don't work together we'll all die together so we all need to put in the work" as opposed to having the grand high dood do all the spiritual work for his parish that plus the oft-quoted bits about "going unto the world" and "spreading the word" and shit are interpreted (at least by me) as "every christian is, by virtue of exactly that, trained to be a minister to the sick and the hurt and the lost" EDIT: it strikes me as very funny that a guy with a korean pop idol avatar and shaq in his sig is making /effortposts about jesus Edited October 14, 2014 by Integrity Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
