Urgh, i hate it whenever the "revealing outfit" topic comes up. can we just accept that it's pandering to men and that we all have different tolerances for that and move on.

It's no biggie. But realistically, no one would wear that stuff in real combat like Fuuga wearing no shirt when it would makes sense to wear armor and the Joker in the movie "Full Metal Jacket" wearing a peace symbol when these things aren't comical when and how it is going to look when folks are getting killed wearing these things. How....utterly expected. (the rating)

Hell, i called that shit. Fantasy Violence and Suggestive Themes.

"Game is too lewd!" Yeah no.
"Everything is censored, i hope." Yeah i doubt it. Nothing in the game warranted an M rating to begin with.

Why does it take the actual ESRB site a day or two to add ratings? It'll be interesting, reading the description and will probably confirm the fate of FE Amie.

that's why I love the ESRB, they leak in game things

hopefully there won't be any curtains this time

There shouldn't be any. But if that happens.... maybe some nicer looking curtains this time?

#SexyCurtains4Fates2k16

I honestly don't think they'll censor anything (except language). Awakening's suggestive themes were "mild", but Fates' suggestive themes are....... suggestive.

EDIT: Fixed spelling.

Guys. Guys. It's called fantasy armour for a reason. Plus, if you really wanted realism, everyone would have to be in full plate armor to take even half the hits they actually take. Even the mages.

i really love armor so this would be a fantastic idea to me.

EDIT: off topic, i just realized that they removed the makalov badge, i hate this fourm (jking)

EDIT 2: speaking of armor, has anyone scored a bingo on the sexist armor thing that was posted earlier? i think i might be close

EDIT 3 : http://i.imgur.com/cED4FT8.png come on just two more!

Have you heard of the "suspension of disbelief"?

Basically, you can push things to a certain point in fiction and still have your audience find it semi-believable.

That point was crossed for very many of us with FE14's armor designs (if not in Awakening).

I agree with your main point. Going for extreme realism isn't always the right route and you can make a more impractical design if it looks well enough. However my main problem right now is that some of the outfits look both very impractical and that they're starting to look more and more stupid.

There's fantasy armor, and then there's just stupid, ugly and impractical design choices for the sake of "sex appeal". Yes, Fire Emblem is a fantasy game, but keep in mind that female units USED to be armored like this:

Even female dark mages were more suited for combat and didn't go running around half-naked:

FE has always been a fantasy series with fantasy elements and fantasy designs, but the difference between Awakening/Fates and the rest of the series is the integrity IS gave to its characters, both in personailty and appearance.

2 things

1. This thread has gone to Hell

2. This is kind of sad if you think about it, games don't get ratings until they are finished. Meaning that the game is probably completely localized with a few minor bugs hanging around.

I love it! These outfits are extremely nice looking (although the second pic is simple in design, it fits the character) and they leave a nice impression.

Whoop, got sidetracked. I think the Teen rating suits FE15 since the debatable content in it is not pornagraphic or anything adult in nature. I won't deny that it's filled with fanservice.

I don't have anything against fanservice or impractical armor myself, but I have always liked the character design of the older Fire Emblem games, too. It was often simple, but with a touch of fantasy, and it gave the series a charm that set it apart from the outlandish style or gritty realism of many other games. Or maybe that's just me.

Anyway. Teen is the rating I was expecting for the game, unless it pulled a Phoenix Wright and had something particularly dark in there, so no surprises here. Personally, I'm hoping the localization will mostly stay true to the original version, but... I suppose we'll see.

You know...i saw the Duel Destinies scene that caused the M rating.

I own a game that had cutscenes fully anime too, that were just as graphic, if not more so. And more frequently. That game was rated Teen. Yeah that game came out in 1998, but...you know...

not understanding why all the sudden anime blood is M territory.

Uh-Oh! They censored Corrin's thighs!

[spoiler=Huge Image!]

Super-Smash-Bros-for-Wii-U_2015_12-14-15

Does that mean her thighs will be covered up in Fates as well or will this be a Smash only thing? I assume they will so as to not confuse Western fans.

I noticed that Camilla wasn't censored though in that intro vid.... So... It's not fair to Corrin.

Of course, it's censorship. Because every character in Smash looks identical to the official art in their respective games.

Anyway, they didn't have any issue with Nowi or all those classes with thongs, so they won't do anything against panty shots now.

Edit: I am sorry for my rudeness. That was absolutely uncalled for.

Glad it isn't M.

Though, I'm surprised they didn't add "Mild Language" as one of the things. IIRC, there was some language in the game and Awakening had that thing too.

I want to see what NOA censored.

I wonder how they treated the facerubs...
