If it's a friend and she(most likely she) made it for me with all her heart, eat it anyway. And if I'm not puking or doubled over in pain, give her tips to make it better. Then leave and go puke, if necessary.

Me and a work buddy would hit a restaurant

I would probably politely attempt to eat it anyway but if it were to the point that I absolutely couldn't eat it chances are because it's either painful for me to eat (like spiciness or sourness) or it's got a texture I can't stand like most seafood does. In that case I might say "oh sorry I have a really sensitive mouth so this is really painful for me to eat" or, depending on how badly I can't stand it, "oh, I actually don't really like seafood" although it can be dangerous of me to say that because people apparently still take offense if I say it's the food type's problem and not their cooking that's the problem

But yeah stuff with gooey texture is a quick way to get me to throw up or attempt to, it's just a feeling my mouth/throat can't handle

EDIT: wait what do you mean by "literally can't" though? allergies? because I'd certainly hope that everybody who saw/noticed something they were allergic to would immediately say "oh I can't eat this I'm allergic"

Ya I have some dust and mold allergies. If someone tried to feed me some dust, I wouldn't eat it.

Originally I meant that you took a bite of the dish but it tasted so horrbily that you can't eat more.

However the reason with being allergic is plausible too.
