Konnor97
Where have you seen the Alola Dex? I'm kinda curious myself. Check Kaphotics/SciresM's twitter. The mediafire link is a download of all of the battle preview sprites, and with it lacking all starters and legendaries before this gen it seems to be the regional dex. Blank images outside of 000.png are likely totems. Gimme a sec, I can list them. Warning really long. Thane
I think the UB are just man-made pokemon using human DNA or something. Yeah, that's one common theory. Other ones include characters in Sun & Moon actually being the Ultra Beasts, that the Ultra Beasts come from another dimension (I guess because of those portals) or that, in the case of UB-01 specifically, they somehow mimic humans or take after their traits for some reason. There's a whole bunch of awesome theories out there, which is exactly why I'd be so disappointed if they turned out to be regular Pokémon. The Draco Knight
I really think Aurora Veil, Laser Shot, and Throat Chop are Popplio3's, Rowlet3's, and Litten3's signature moves. Laser Shot fits a sniper pokemon, Throat Chop is a dirty move that stops voice moves, like the singing Popplio3 can almost certainly do. Aurora Veil is assumingly pretty and showy. Oh, and here's a compiled picture of all Gen 7 pokemon plus their shiny form. No Ash-Greninja. So Litten will truly become Tiger Mask? I'm so happy right now. Oh, and Alola Golem's beard looks amazing Also, is it weird if I say that I like the Ultrabeasts design more than the Pokemon ones, including most of those from the past generations? Can't say I'm a fan for the same reason I'm opposed to being able to catch them: I want them to be mysterious and really freaking scary; being able to purge them would cheapen their involvement, and after the first time the rest of them would appear toothless. Same tbh, or else they would lose most of the charm they had initially.

A Random Player
What are those before the Legendary mascots? Pre-evolutions? I get in-training digimon vibes from them. Also Alolan Dugtrio and Persian lol. Dugtrio's literally just wearing wigs.

JSND Alter Dragon Boner
Alolan Dugtrio actually dumpsters every other Alolan form as far as "potential for this thing to be good" goes its kinda ridiculous. Konnor97
The thing is, there are two blank spots after Mmikyu. I feel like that may shoot down the idea that they're meant for totem pokemon. Why? There's 4 blanks after Mimikyu: Normal Totem Mimikyu, Shiny Totem Mimikyu, Broken Disguise Totem Mimikyu, and Shiny Broken Disguise Totem Mimikyu. The DanMan
Okay in regards to this image: I'm thinking Gladion is the bottom left one. Its sleek black design fits him much more than Absorption, and it even has shoulder spikes and "shoelaces" that match up. King Marth 64
But they were distributed later. Okay, apparently there are 7 blank slots in the dex, illustrated here: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CvDFzp_WIAAr5i2.jpg (yes, Ultra Beasts count. What a shame.). Exact counts for the Alolan dex vary, but what I can say for certain is that there are more Kanto Pokemon in it than there are Alolan Pokemon in it. Just... why? They seem to actually count in the Pokedex, coming right after legendaries but before mythicals/event legendaries. They have battle spot sprites (which is what all the images that people have found are for)- which they wouldn't have unless you could use them there, which means that you can catch them. Same here. Odd, that. With any luck, the dataminers missed a few things, and the game can be incredible even with a few setbacks or unmet expectations. I just hope the story is good and that the Ultra Beasts are not just cheaper legendaries. I mean, there has to be a reason why they're called Ultra Beasts and are not shown with any accompanying type or ability - sure, maybe it's to keep it secret until the game actually launches for whatever reason, but then why the special definition? I'll choose to believe they're encounter-only until someone reveals they've got typings. As someone on Reddit pointed out, Pokéstar Studios' Pokémon had shiny versions as well, as did AZ's Floette, so there's a glimmer of hope. Also, there's this: [spoiler=All Ultra Beasts] Did one of the dataminers say that the Ultra Beasts are the actual characters that transformed into those creatures or not? I wanted to see if one of our theory guesses for Lillie, Gladion, and Lusamine transformed into the first three Ultra Beasts were correct or not. And also, is those other five are actually the other Ultra Beasts correct? And also, are those three other Pokemon next to Tapu Koko in the image are Tapu Koko's counterparts, correct? I wanted to see if one of our theory guesses for Lillie, Gladion, and Lusamine transformed into the first three Ultra Beasts were correct or not. And also, is those other five are actually the other Ultra Beasts correct? No, that's only people theorizing. Datamine shows that they scrubbed everything except for a few moves, met locations (in the demo) and the battle spot team preview sprites for all pokemon, shiny and non. They might not actually be UB, but considering where they're placed and what they look like, I'll be extremely surprised if they weren't. Ebony
I'm hoping we don't catch the UB both for the mystery factor and the uh... especially unfortunate implications of you catching characters like Gladion... Remind me, what type is Alolan Golem and it's family? Also if you think the demo is disappointingly short, you haven't played the Yokai Watch 2 demo. I spent more time playing it then I did the Sun and Moon demo. ... what? You're not supposed to just rush the boss, you can run around a bit. Konnor97
If we can catch UB, I hope they're either replicas, or that characters don't actually turn into them and they just use a character's dna or something.
Moblin Major General
Maybe the Ultra Beasts will be like Black/White Kyurem? You know, unable to be caught when battled in story? I don't know how they could be captured or used, but that would be postgame anyway.
Konnor97
Some people are theorizing that with those special pokemon listed before Solgaleo/Lunaala, and since they both come before the legendaries with the smaller one first and then the legendaries, the small gaseous one evolves into the star orb one, and that split evos into Solgaleo/Lunaala. Honey Bunny
Has nobody acknowledged that awesome looking Poke next to Wimpod? Emerson
Some people are theorizing that with those special pokemon listed before Solgaleo/Lunaala, and since they both come before the legendaries with the smaller one first and then the legendaries, the small gaseous one evolves into the star orb one, and that split evos into Solgaleo/Lunaala.That's what I was thinking. It doesn't feel like they each evolve into a different one, since neither seem to associate with just one. If anything, I feel they both resemble Lunaala more than Solgaleo. Has nobody acknowledged that awesome looking Poke next to Wimpod? That looks like its evolution, and you can bet that I'll be trying to catch a Wimpod for it. I wonder what its typing is?I mean, it has the same general design cues and a similar shiny scheme, so it's pretty clear it is its evolution. Wimpod is Bug Water, so it'll probably stay the same.
