More like lame attack hahahahah gotten.

Lmao.

Oof, right where it hurts, too!

Honestly though, the time attack being an afterthought/extra didn't do it for me.

V doesn't have Slimification Metal Slimes. Which is bad since Slimification-Capable slimes won't run away as they call enough numbers to morph.

That said, they also have higher stats precisely to avoid being beaten all before they can, so likely you wouldn't be able to beat enough Metal Slimes before they morph. Then again, Metal King Slime. Though it can also flee.

Ah, dang it!

As for my main complaint about Future Connected, Gael'gar sucks so much. Genuianly the worst villain in all of Xeno and it's not even a contest imo. He has his own tier at the bottom.

Worse than Luxaar? Yeowch! (Although Lux' has a fig leaf excuse of being but a mountain to climb, behind which the Promised Sequeland and its True Villainest of Villains lay.)

*wrathful Draggy noises*

Sometimes you get those bad rolls with Thwack/Kathwack. I feel for ya. It feels less accurate than SMT Hama/Mudo, but those you can more easily totally block out.

Yep.
It's especially bad, because DQV doesn't have any revival spells or items to speak of (or at least I don't have any).

Bottom line is, I am now sitting on a half-dead support party and I'm completely lost with no way back or forward. I am... NOT a happy Draggy right now.

Yggdrasil Leaves tend to be rare in DQ. As for resurrection spells, Zing and Kazing exist, and I know the main character eventually learns the former. Zing has an annoying 50% success rate though, Kazing is guaranteed thankfully.

Man, that has to be quite bad luck.

The accuracy of Thwack/Kathwack is infamous. IV spawned a whole meme around it and Kiryl.

Oh, there are revival spells and items. You just don't have access to them yet. I think. Warning, though, the low tier revival spell, Zing... can miss. IT's also infamous.

Wouldn't call them rare. It's just that most of the time you're forced to only carry one of them. At least, from the easy source if there's any. Otherwise get lucky there's some as chest items or item drops.

Can't you buy them from the casino in V?
And doesn't the casino also have a Resurrection staff in V?

Well, that's just amazing. /s

But thank you for informing me that at least they do exist.

I know of this, actually! Caster showed me a video about it from Dragon Quest Heroes, I think it was.
I thought it was pretty funny.

Oh yeah, Leaves are casino prizes.

It does, but it casts Zing... so not really worth it, I'd think.

I suppose... it... could work as like, a hail mary in case of a really awful situation.

It is, heh.

It goes back to the original NES version. Party members were always AI controlled. So, there was a system in place where a character would learn that a spell wasn't working on certain enemies if it failed to connect a few times in a row, thus they would stop casting it towards certain enemies. Problem is, Kiryl was infamous on first trying Thwack/Kathwack. Even on bosses, who are always immune to it. So very often he'd just end up wasting his turns until the AI system learned that, no, it wasn't working.

Thus, the jokes and memes began.

XD

He's like Walter in SMTIV fighting the Minotaurus.
Oh boy, the memories... XD

I got back to the town I came from, at least, so now it's mass resurrection time at the church.
I need a break for now...

I'm guessing that's a Switch only feature, since I'm pretty sure it's not there in the 3DS version.

Yeah, it is. I thought it was also on 3DS but i confirmed it wasn't.

Yeah. Hell, Gael'gar is even worse than Gort.

What sucks is that Gael'gar had potential but Future Connected devoted zero time to him.

But......but why tho? Why would they make a revival spell only have a % of working?

I'm not defending it, but I'm pretty sure it also worked the same for some lower level status removal effects in earthbound, as well, specifically for revival spells.

When in doubt, blame Yuji Horii's love for gambling.

No, seriously, that may probably be it.

"Fun" was not in Squaresoft/Square Enix' vocabulary that day. And neither was "good game design".

---

Anyhow, I went back to Fate/Extra for the time being.
Since I'm almost done with that game, I'll give it some priority for now. After that, I'll tackle Trails in the Sky.
DQV will be continued on the side of that.

Except that was Enix. And by today Zing still has a chance to miss mostly because DQ is meant to be "traditional"/grandfather clause.

All this did is make me not wanna play EarthBound. Sorry San-i mean, Ness.

Yeah healing spells of any kind should not have a % chance to miss.

Isn't that right, Thracia 776?

What's wrong with Gort? I thought he was okay, for the time he was on screen that is.
