I love it when Stories have choices that actually matter and change the story in a meaningful way. Something 99% of the RPGs fail at and do shitty romance simulators instead (Compared to most RPGs, 3H is actually good in that regard lmao, but compared to VNs and the like 3H gets barely a passing grade due to how similiar the routes kinda are). RPGs, well if you're going to have alternate routes, you're going to be under pressure to differentiate the battles & dungeons but you needn't do so very much if it all, 3H & SMT. While i agree with you, i'd rather get completely different stories (or atleast outcomes of stories) instead of the half hearted dating simulators we keep getting. Even if it means gameplay doesn't change much between routes (although boss fights should still be different) You can have different romance interest for every route (and that's how VNs do it), but different character should act differently depending on your choice. Because i can dig that, too, but in that case choice don't matter, do they? Acacia Sgt Posted April 14, 2021 Share Posted April 14, 2021 (edited) That reminds me when SRW has done it. Both Shin SRW and SRW Impact/Compact2 have done the "simultaneous routes" bit. With Shin it's practically the entire game, though unlocking the final/true end has both groups combine. Impact instead has an entire third act after both groups have combined. The first Z game also did, depending on the protagonist chosen. Roughly as a route split, with the interesting bit in that it culminates in an actual clash between both groups. Choices that don't matter in a game where that was never really the point isn't as big of a deal as choices not mattering in a game where that is the point. The alternate route that I did not take expands the RPG side of the game by a lot, with tons of extra content, areas and bosses that you wouldn't see otherwise. The main plot also goes down a completely different road. Only problem is, for the main character all of this is absolutely terrible, for reasons that make more sense in context and that I won't say because I refuse to spoil Omori for anyone. 1 hour ago, BrightBow said: Eyyy, it's Missival!
