I'm optimistic enough to think Kuro will be localized in 2024.

Unless they buy Zerofield's translation, I doubt it. Modders are already inserting the translation on the PC version by CLE and there was no cease & desist like what happened with Haji.

After all, is it better than 2? That person I already shared his, uh, "thoughts" about Xenoblade 2 here on the thread is apparently enjoying this game a lot more.

Because the sins of the Teehee are visited upon the innocent, Twilit. And they are immortal, these sins. Across millennia do they stretch. Crawling. Crying. Reaching out to be seen and heard. To be righted. Set right by the only one who took up the mantle of bane of the Teehee Legion. It is not your fate to die, Twilit. No. Not to die. Your fate is to live. Oh, by the Holy Throne, will you live....

Game probably deserves it xD

Is it still looking like a 10/10?

Hmm

I am very strict with my ratings (i never gave a game a 10 after all), and there's one thing that's really bothering me that might probably stop me from giving it the perfect 10.

Everything else? Perfection in a game.

Well, i will wait until i finish for the score

Huh. Interesting.

Why is that?

Yeah pretty much what Shrimpy said.

Like y'all know I'm a huge Monolith Soft and Xeno shill but like....damn. Xenoblade 3 good.

That's the real question of the hour.

Xenoblade 2 had such a profound impact on my life for like five years, that's not something that can easily give up it's spot.

But Xenoblade 3 makes a very convincing case. I think I'll know for sure once I write out my thoughts.

It's been a 10/10 for me.

This way too good

Why are NPCs better than main party of other games

So good...

For a world with a forever war, it's crazy how alive it feels.

Xenoblade X is similar, a barely explored planet yet it feels Star Wars level of lived in.

You know, imagine if a future FE is basically Aura Battler Dunbine.

You wouldn't think mechas could fit medieval fantasy... but they totally do, heh...

It's not just that, after all i used to play a series that was especially good in this, so that alone wouldn't have impressed me that much.

It's that + involving the side quests in the world in a way that makes them feel almost main story important + the NPC interaction with each other + Side quests fun 99% of the time + Hero quests giving Major NPCs background/development as well + making it all feel rewarding and not a damn chore.

Yeah this makes Trails NPC/World (which are considered top tier by many, including me) look like kiddy scribble. And i am not trying to insult Trails by this for once, i am just saying this is how amazing the NPCs/World are in this game.

We even got an Antonn with his own string of quests around the world.

This is the new peak NPCs/Worldbuilding for me.

Never thought i'd say that for a Xenoblade game. The improvements from 1 to 2 to Torna to 3 are staggering in that regard.

When i finished Xenoblade 1 i remember saying

"This is the worst side quest system i ever saw"

Or something along these lines

Xenoblade 3 definetly has the best one i ever saw.

Is it that one plot point you were worried about being bad or has something actually ended up being bad/flawed?

It is that one point, so far.

Like it ain't a story ruiner or anything, infact one might even argue it works with the story (and i will admit it does), but it's bothering me too much for me to go "dats a 10".

Especially when Xenoblade 2 did that much better.

Or maybe i am just stingy because i never give 10 out because 10 for me is like, nothing bothering me/no faults. A perfect game basically. Which will never exist. Probably. Not even my fav. Game of all time got a 10 from me

Did Ys 8 have to fuck up it's ending xD

I still think the only game in existence that is legitimately perfect with no flaws whatsoever is Super Mario Galaxy 2.

Spent a little time at the beach, the evening was nice. Had pizza and a bite of brownie ice cream plus pastries. I wore shoes with socks to the shore, as I don't like sand on my feet. That may sound fuddy-duddy, and it seems like nature agreed. My reputation for clumsiness and a lack of general awareness meant that my shoes got fully soaked by sea foam when a wave rolled in a little further than I was expecting it to reach. I was too distracted talking with family to react in time, I can't multitask.😆

That's a very interesting perspective, and an incredibly cool headcanon, but as the tribe stands now it reeks of "Canadian policy towards Native Americans in the 19th century"

If Nohr and Hoshido are West and East, why not portray their relations to foreign peoples and powers different based on how the West and East have handled them?

My understanding of the traditional Chinese international relations, which would I would assume influence the Sinosphere which includes Japan, is limited. Vietnamese relations being the most lacking, and Korean and Tibetan not much better.

I still have China Marches West: The Qing Conquest of Central Eurasia from college, a 560 page book on the titular subject. It does talk some about traditional pre-Qing dynastic Chinese management of Central Eurasian relations, which the book argues were not as successful as that of the Qing. (The Qing, being Manchurian ethnically, not Han Chinese, came from the easternmost region of the Central Eurasian steppe (but were NOT nomads, they were farmers who straddled the Han and the Mongols/actual nomads), and that contributed their subduing of it.

Rarely, China would send military expeditions into Central Eurasia to nip the barbarians in the bud, these didn't have a great track record of success. A Chinese army pre-mid-Qing could last only 90-100 days on the steppe before logistics turns against them. Building the "Great Walls" and garrisoning the border for a strong defense was the more common alternative.  Not to mention, northern barbarians are less like humans and more like forces of nature, you can't really stop them -so it was argued. Garrisons were expensive to maintain however, the border regions weren't wealthy enough to pay for their own defense, so funds and resources from the rich core of China had to be sent to the distant north and west. Efforts to establish self-sustaining Han Chinese colonies of a kind usually didn't work out in the long run, the landscape was too harsh. Allying with friendly nomads happened, but Central Eurasia isn't known for political stability, ruling clans/tribes/peoples rose and fell with regularity. Sending Chinese princesses and noblewomen to create marriage alliances happened, although I can't imagine any woman used to the luxuries of the Chinese Empire was happy with being sent so far removed.

Besides peace, China wanted one thing from the steppes, quality war horses (furs were nice too). Apparently the Tang Dynasty was able to supply itself with 700k of them, but otherwise, China was always dependent on the steppe for worthy military steeds, China itself wasn't conducive for their upbringing. Silk, jade, porcelain, metalworks, and salt were all Chinese exports to Central Eurasia, but the Ming Dynasty chose to formalize a state-controlled horses-for-tea exchange system, thinking barbarians cannot live without tea, a product China had a total monopoly on. The Chinese government tried fixing the price of horses in their favor, the nomads tried doing the same; the nomads could always try sending China their lower-quality steeds, while private merchants could similarly rip off the nomads by selling inferior Chinese luxury products. I'm aware that embassies occasionally happened, during which Central Eurasians would be temporarily allowed into the heart of China under tight regulations and engage in some expensive gift-giving, the nomads did have to avoid looking too Chinese and couldn't intermingle with the Han ladies while visiting.

...That's enough assorted details.😅

Which is a shame since the Fire Tribe aesthetic is one that is infinitely more interesting.

It also gives us our only non-generic unit that starts as an Oni Savage. We could've used another one of those.

You know for the first time ever, my Rinkah in my current run of Rev is actually growing in strength, it's a bloody miracle! In fact she's the strongest among my whole team so I have been extremely lucky with her. I don't know how much longer it'll last but it's pretty great as it is.

Her Str growth is low, although I don't think her Str is quite so terrible with her Fiery Blood. Lose 1 HP and she has +4 Str/Mag, it helps, it's pretty good personal skill, Xander and many others would love it if only they could have. Rinkah and the Oni class line has low HP however, hence it's a bit difficult to leave her even slightly injured, a good personal on a bad character.

Basically!😂

It's also like a car crash. Who hasn't noticed one by the side of the road and turned their head more than they needed to, interested in what happened?

Looks like someone made an entire small series of multi-panel ZekexRex material actually. Of questionable quality, Rex is made too uke, Zeke a little too aggressive, and why in some of them inexplicable tentacles that appear out of nowhere? I'm amazed anyone would ship them like this. Although I suppose it's the work of a straight fujoshi or fundashi, taking characters they know and or like, and assigning them to the (problematic) archetypal roles of a genre they regularly devour, with minimal adjustments or reason for their behavior. You could swap out the XC2 duo for another pair of vaguely similar guys from some different game or anime/manga (maybe I could see GenisxZelos from Tales of Symphonia) and you would hardly have to change a thing. And, Z & R the only two playable human males in XC2. Tora being a Nopon means egads! you would need to have the insanity of tertiary syphilis to throw that furball into it!

Be warned! He shall eventually age into a middle-aged mech pilot who enjoys watching pornography, even willing to hold parties featuring the stuff, and seems to prefer strong women who can dominate him.

I mean, Masoukishin might as well be Fire Emblem with Cult-kun in full force (at least for LoEs 1 & 2, not sure about 3 and F).

And yet is probably still more tame than the Haze/Amalthus doujin that I saw the cover of while browsing for memes on the Xenoblade subreddit a few years ago.

Whoever even thought of that isn't going to hell, that's too lenient of a punishment.
