Oh yeah in-game it's definitely tradition. Especially since they went as far as being unable to rename Link starting in BotW. Even Link's Awakening HD didn't let you rename.

Modern architecture for ya.

@Benice this apartment complex is in Vancouver, in case you're ever there (IDK your distance from the city) and pass by it.

@Interdimensional Observer so yeah, I decided to go with Ages instead first. Since I can't play Twilight Princess when I'm away from my laptop, I can do this instead. And it would be nice, cause after OoT and LttP, I'd like to return to Zelda games that have more puzzles.

Hopefully it's fun!😀 I did replay the Oracles on my 3DS, twice for both games IIRC. And yet, I forget my exact feelings experiencing them again after so long.😅

Link has to be the player's perspective into the world. That's possibly the logic behind it. As soon as a silent MC stops being the player's vessel, they can talk, sometimes. This is the case in Dragon Quest, and this is the truth in SMT-Persona.

I hope to go to school in Vancouver, so I'll let you know if I see it!

Fun fact, while I had both on my 3DS when I brought them at the same time I......never once actually booted up Ages. I have a file on Seasons but Ages? I bought these in like 2016 and I'm booting it up for the first time.

And then there is Samus, who doesn't talk because there isn't anyone to talk to.

I finished my first event for Partitio’s scent of commerce. I just spent $6000 on a shit ton of lore. When I’m supposed to be saving up for my boat. Pain.

I wonder if there’s a practical benefit to all of this? I mean, some of it seems like it could be related to a side quest or something… and then part of it is on which of the desert clans perfected the craft of bottle making.

Eh, there’s probably a reward for doing all the Scent of Commerces. Maybe it unlocks the secret golden ending where you vanquish capitalism. Anyway, on to Winterbloom.

Also, because of this game’s exp’s nature, I’ve been exploring without fighting any random encounters for the time being. Yikes…

In other news, I wonder how Ruben will feel when he learns that there is now an LP that will spend half of its time simping for him and the other half of it cursing his name.

On a whim, I decide to replay this game after not touching it in 10 years. I think i have a newfound appreciation for this game. Especially in the boss fight department.

It's....weird honestly because i struggle to think of any actual flaws with this game. I mean there are frame drops here and there but it's the Game Boy so whatever. I think there are better Kirby games than this one but even Forgotten Land, the best one, still has a small few things i don't like about it. But this game? Kirby's Dream Land is probably the most flawless 8/10 i've played.

Reminds me this can be done legit in some games, thanks to the Narikiri Dolls.

I was binge-watching a series on contemporary marvels of engineering. Where art meets the laws of physics, it's mentally stimulating in that way.

This was in Florida, Florida Polytechnic University's IST Building to be precise. The louvres -the "feathers" of the "wings" on top- are programmed to individually incrementally lower and raise over the course of the day, adjusting for the Sun's position. They let enough indirect sunlight in to illuminate the interior, yet provide shade sufficient for keeping out the heat of excessive direct sunlight at the same time.

Pretty weird. But then I've been known to sit on games I own for a long time.😆

For such a short, simple game, I'm surprised you'd give the original Kirby such a high score. I've played it myself, in the absence of copy abilities, it's rather tough for a Kirby game (barring modern True Arenas).

Now if you excuse me, I did a random check and found the Kirby 30th Anniversary Concert on YouTube again.

giphy.gif

Nintendo took the video down shortly after the celebration was over, but some dude managed to post it back online by sticking a bunch of random pictures over the footage and thereby avoid copyright infringement. It ruins total immersion, but I'm glad someone is trying to preserve it.

You know, considering Faraway is meant to be someplace in New York state, and when the game supposedly takes place...

... Jawsum could be partly inspired on Trump, as in, in-universe, possibly... maybe? Uh huh...

Spoiler

I know the main inspiration is the blackjack game on Sunny's computer, but like, the whole thing of making the shark run a casino/resort... badly... quite badly. That's totally Trump, able to bankrupt his own casinos...

The year is 2974. I still have not gotten past Twilight Princess' opening. I got to the first Hero's Shade duel and decided to call it for the day.

I think i might actually prefer Forsaken Fortress 1.

Something that cool in the state i live in. Learn something new every day.

Short, simple yet very solid.

Lmao, the game doesn't really get good until after you get into Lanayru

Thought this segment would be longer. Well, I think that's it for tonight. The Underwater Highway will be for tomorrow.

Well, I actually tried to go at it instead... but then the game screen went completely black so... yeah, I knew I wasn't going to do this tonight after all, heh.
