Humble little game I mentioned a couple times as the best JRPG I've ever played? The creator made another one back then, Last Scenario. It hadn't piqued my interest as much because it was more traditional, IE it lacked Exit Fate's massive-ass cast. I recently remembered it exists though, and looked a bit more into it. It appears that, while it is a bit more traditional, it still has a number of weirder mechanics, just like its successor. That, and I found the LP at the LParchive and it includes this quote from the creator: Quote When I started, the concept I based it on was to take a really cliched RPG backstory (destined heroes fighting demons etc) and then turn it all around during the game. I hope I succeeded, but at least don't let the intro text scare you off. That does sound right up my alley. Yeah, I think this is worth a shot.
