He had prevailed against all obstacles, even the vicious woman who brought a spear to football matches. He had spent days on end planning every last move and contingency for this match. Anything the enemy did, he would already be six steps ahead. They wouldn't even know what hit them. If anything, Claude was disappointed. This looked to be easy. But L'Arachel had done her homework. She knew his reputation, his infamy as a schemer that would do anything to achieve victory. She, too, had an ace up her proverbial sleeve. She nodded once to her loyal protector and centre-forward, his hearty grin telling her all she needed to know. The roguish central midfielder quietly sighed behind him. Then he shruged and smiled faintly. It was all was accounted for. Today, the schemer would be outdone at his own game, by the one and only, the beautiful savior of all peoples and adventurer without compare. Today, the world would know her name. Had she beaten L'Arachel and made it to the finals I wouldn't even have been mad. In fact, I would've voted for her. She made it that far without ever setting foot on the field, she earned it.
