  1. The worst is when they troll you after you've already entered, meaning you can't do anything in response. On Mewtwo release day I was playing Mewtwo, and after beating a guy and then losing to him once each, I went in again and proceeded to get "COWARD," "SPAMMER," "PATHETIC," and "GET GOOD" until he ultimately left. I'm just sitting there thinking, "You gonna fight or what?" 2 out of 3.
  2. Wtf are you talking about? WFT customs are great, particularly her weighted header side b and jumbo hoop up b, but nearly all of her custom moves are good and her down b is arguably the only one you would want to keep default.
  3. Maybe it didn't deserve that exact response, but to mention that I want a character back and to then have someone randomly respond that the character can "die in a hole"? I mean, what the fuck? That's the kind of shit Ana is constantly chastised for (arguably worse in this case). As a moderator, a comment like that is very unsavory and shouldn't just be let go, and yeah, it hit a nerve. Could I have dealt with it in a more "mod-like" way? Yeah. After all, I did get warned for it. But anyway, before this gets any worse, lemme cut it off right here and say that if you have anything else to say to me on this matter, feel free to shoot me a PM.
  4. No offense to PKL, but I'm skeptical of fully agreeing with any single person's opinion on a full tier list. Not really feeling the Fire Emblem characters in this game, eh? Robin at least should be higher than bottom, though, if only because of Thoron+.
  5. Yo. I have time, but he said we have three days. Be patient. Don't rush anyone. It's rude.
  6. The 5 "slots" on the Smash Bros. site almost definitely mean absolutely nothing. They're just the result of not having anything to fill in there.
  7. I don't think it's started yet. I think he wants to do something before officially kicking it off. Although now we have 9 people. If having 8 would be better I don't mind dropping out.
  8. Yo. Smash Bros. is serious damn business. I'm not even kidding, this shit means a lot to people (myself included).
  9. Everyone knows Roy's not good statistically, but that's definitely not the only reason people dislike him. He's a very bland character.
  10. Well, I voted for Dixie on my computer and Anna on my phone. Not sure if separate devices matter but w/e. I'm surprised at the volume of Isaac fans on this site.
  11. Idea: who thinks we'll be getting fighter bundles, potentially with Lucas, Roy, and Ryu in the first bundle? Evidence 1: Mii outfits have been released in a bundle, albeit also buyable individually. Evidence 2: Lucas hasn't been priced, even though you'd expect him to be the same price as any other individual fighter (Mewtwo), suggesting there's more to it. Evidence 3: Roy's and Ryu's victory themes were found alongside Lucas' in the game data. Mewtwo came free for buyers of both versions of the game, so it wouldn't have made sense to bundle him with others, but even before any DLC was announced my idea was that we'd be getting packs of some sort like we did for Mario Kart 8 and Hyrule Warriors. It seems a pretty strong possibility to me.
  12. You can crawl in a hole and die. That's why I said what I did. DLC changes the game around, and while I don't think they're super likely or anything, I do think there's hope.
  13. You people, wow. Honestly, I'm not at all big on Roy, but if I get Dixie, Ice Climbers, and Wolf I really won't care who else is added. Hopefully Roy is a sign that Sakurai wants to bring back all the veterans and will find some way to include Ice Climbers.
  14. Not sure whether I should laugh or facepalm at Parrhesia's post.
  15. Shadow Dragon sold worse than the Tellius games when you look at context. But this really isn't the place for this discussion.
  16. I always felt like getting a kill off edge hogging was a developer oversight. This alone doesn't make it a bad strategy per se, but there's little more annoying when playing casually (as I always have) than being killed because your opponent grabbed the ledge when you were trying to recover. Overall, it's not so much that edge hogging is objectively bad (I hate it and think it's more of an exploit than an intended mechanic, but that's all I can really say), but that I believe the new edge mechanics are much, much better. Ledge trumping and getting a follow up takes more skill and precise timing than holding the edge, it allows for more intense off-stage play than ever before, and not getting invincibility back without landing ensures no one can endlessly re-grab the ledge.
  17. Ledge trumping is way better than being able to just hold the ledge so your opponent can't.
  18. I might join, but lemme ask about this stalling rule first: Any act of stalling is banned in Hypest tournaments, as the following actions essentially makes the game unplayable as unenjoyable. Some of these tactics included are limited to becoming invisible, chain grabs, jab infites, uninteruptible moves past 300%, circle camping, reaching a position that your opponent can never reach you, disappearing characters, etc. Any action that can prevent the game from continuing normally, such as pausing, and freezing glitches, will result in a forfeit of the player/party that initiated the stall. Please report stalling with a replay. I don't think I would do anything that would constitute "stalling" normally, but I don't want to end up in a situation where two players have a dispute over something that might be considered stalling. Does this mean you always need to go full aggro? If the clock is running out (like 30 seconds left) and you're ahead in percent and a kill is unlikely, the best option is essentially to stall, so is that not allowed? If it's not, how do you even enforce it? Some characters naturally play more keep-away as it is. Some of the examples listed are really strange (how does one "become invisible" without items? Chain grabs are essentially impossible in this game, and jab infinites usually lead to a kill or at least a strong attack. Circle camping shouldn't happen with a good stage list), and it makes me wonder why this rule is here in the first place.
