I've never worked at Taco Bell specifically, but I've worked similar jobs and known people who work these jobs and unless she's really new or does this often or her manager is a complete asshole, she's not going to get fired for this one mistake. I'm surprised I haven't gotten any "Ew Taco Bell" comments yet, though. And I'm not going back for hot sauce.

Uh, you are completely missing the point. Pokemon is one of those series commonly seen by younger teenagers as "kid stuff" (or "baby stuff," if you will). Younger kids and adults are more likely to enjoy it than those in the middle.

My brother got Pokemon Red for his birthday back in the day. I played it as well, eventually got my own Pokemon Yellow, and have stuck with Pokemon since. It shouldn't come as a surprise. Pokemon is...well, I think this Awkward Zombie comic says it all:

I don't SF blog much (or ever), but I have to relay this one. So about a half hour ago I got off work. I'm hungry and tired and there's a Taco Bell near where I live, so I decide I'm just going to drive through and get something quick and cheap to eat, no big deal. I get to the thing (there's no line) and order two double-decker tacos and she asks "regular or supreme," except I only understand the "or" part so I ask her to repeat it, so she repeats it, and I still don't understand it but I don't want to ask her again so I end up sitting there silently for a few seconds trying to figure it out before she repeats it once more and this time I finally understand it, so I answer "regular." I literally haven't been asked this question when ordering at Taco Bell for at least 5 years, but whatever. The total is $4.08, so as I'm cruising up to the window I get a 5-dollar bill out of my wallet. I have my bills ordered from lowest to highest and I only had a single 1-dollar at the front, otherwise I would have payed like that, but anyway, I don't like getting a ton of coins so I find 8 cents from the little compartment in my car where I keep spare change. I give her the coins first, then the bill, and she asks if I want hot sauce, to which I say "yes, please." When she comes to give me my change is when I start questioning my math skills, because my brain told me that I should be getting $1 in change, but she was handing me multiple bills. When I actually had them in my hand I realized it was two 20s, a 5, and a 1, for a total of $46. I consider questioning it, but she then gives me my food and tells me to have a nice day, so I get out of there and park and check the receipt. Sure enough, it says I gave her $50.08. I high-tail it out of there before anyone notices their mistake. And I didn't even get any fucking hot sauce.

My favorite so far is dancer girl. She seems like she'd be a really great friend. 2nd is Hinoka. Having experienced...well, basically every Fire Emblem game so far (be it remake or original), I'm going to speculate that such localization probably won't happen this time around due to the separate factions, one being very clearly Japan-based (we even have the official name of said place for the game's western release as "Hoshido"), which Fire Emblem has never really had before, so re-naming characters in other games for localizations didn't really change it in the way it would here. Plus, the Nohr characters will likely consist of...well, not-so-Japanese names already. And that's the point. If the names of characters on both sides sound too similar, it's going to harm believability and immersion.

Nah, I want the characters to remain shallow, simple, and one-note across the board. But really, this. Obviously anyone should want better-written characters.

I don't think that will be necessary. There won't be that many people here playing the game from the Japan release, I imagine. While any spoilers should be marked, in my opinion, if you're going to visit this subforum before getting a chance to play the game yourself, you're knowingly putting yourself at risk.

Agreed. Not just her, even. If I were picking strictly based on the characters we've seen, I'd be 100% Hoshido. But the experience of Nohr sounds more interesting to me, so I'm going there.

Why are you being so defensive? I even added a little joke at the end of my post (and went out of my way to let you know it was a joke). There is literally no reason for you to have this kind of reaction. I haven't exactly tested, but I'm certain it doesn't effect hitboxes.

Because you mash. It works like I described: hold or press in sequence for fire, mash for wind. Fire has horizontal knockback, wind has vertical knockback, both take a use of their respective tome. It's not complicated. I use "she" for Robin because I play female Robin, but in that situation I was also specifically talking about my own use of the character. When you responded like that, it was just like, why did you mention it? I wasn't questioning your use of male Robin or anything like that. Even though everyone knows female Robin is superior. Please don't take this statement seriously, I know they're the same in this game.

Let go? That's not how it works. If you mash A you'll get wind, if you hold A or press it in sequence three times you'll get fire. I've gotten in the habit of just holding A so if it connects I'll get fire (and not use up my recovery) and if it misses she just won't continue and won't be open for as long.

Were you mashing A? (and if not, what happened?)

Basically as stated, all spoilers need to be clearly marked. If the entire topic is about something spoilery, it should not be part of the title and the title should say "SPOILERS ABOUND" or something to that effect. If it's in an unrelated or otherwise non-spoiler topic, they should use the spoiler tags and be clearly marked as FE14 spoilers. Luckily this forum is the only part of the fandom I visit, so as long as no one here is dumb I'll be fine.

It would be an interesting change, for sure. I don't know if I can say it would be for the better, as it would probably eliminate most replay value. It would make balancing easier, but balance isn't really all it's cracked up to be, especially in a single-player game.

I'm fully aware of where it comes from. Point is, ORAS addressed this problem with the originals with the matters I already stated as well as adding non-water trainers to the water routes.

Wait, what? Surfing has never been faster than it was in the gen 3 games. Honestly, I find the "too much water" complaint to be just a holdover from the originals that doesn't apply to ORAS. The real problem was more that it was so easy to get lost, but that doesn't happen now with the map on the bottom screen and better designed water routes in general.
