  1. I'm a simple guy. I like chocolates and fruity candies. For the longest time Nestle CRUNCH was my favorite chocolate candy bar, but I later found a love for White CRUNCH and Hershey's Cookies n' Creme (I wish they still made the former...). Oh, and I can't forget about the egg-shaped Russell Stover chocolate truffles available around Easter. On the fruity side, I love me a good Ring Pop, Jolly Rancher, or the old classic Wonder Ball (a hollow chocolate shell w/ another type of candy inside) with Sweet Tarts inside. Chocolate and fruity (if tarty) candy in one. 😋 I'd also list fruit snacks but I'm not sure if those count as candy.
  2. Nothing wrong with keeping KT on board, but if I had to pick a new studio to co-develop the next FE, I would go with Bandai-Namco. They handle most (if not all) officially licensed anime (and anime-crossover) games, so I think they'd lend themselves well to the already anime-esque design of FE.
  3. Idk why Ranger didn't just recycle Nomadic Trooper's sword animation when they already recycle their bow animation. But then you look at the Horseman's sword animation in FE11/12 which is Ranger's but much more smooth, likely what they were originally going for.
  4. I agree. Their animations are subpar compared to the gold standard we're used to on the GBA. Ephraim's crit is thrilling, but that's about it.
  5. Originally I had set my favorite as Radiant Dawn for its gameplay, engaging story, and particularly the combat animations which I grew really fond of. Then I set it to Awakening for its (now long worn-off) novelty of letting your Avatar marry and have children. I might've set SoV as a favorite, except I knew FE Warriors was on its way in the Fall of that year. A dream collab come true (albeit unfulfilled in the roster department) with excellent gameplay for a Warriors game. I got a Switch just so I could play it, and I already knew I would set it as my next favorite the first chance I got. And currently still is, unless we get an FE6 remake or a FEW2 with a more favorable roster. The latter would likely stay as my favorite for all time.
  6. Damn it, Sakurai. Just......damn it. I am simply smash-dashed. While I do like world builders, I have zero interest in Minecraft. Always have, always will. And over the years, I'd find youtube comments telling the relevant LP'er I'm watching to play Minecraft, which gets really annoying really fast, and I began to develop a bit of a hatred for the game. Just the game. Let the kids mine and craft to their hearts' content for all I'm concerned. As for me, guess I'll be waiting for the next fighter. I'm set to buy Fighter's Pass 2 anytime I want, just won't be as soon as I'd hoped. All the millions of ecstatic kids on the internet are never gonna let us hear the end of this... 😩
  7. I made this mockup a month ago with a spine included (though the guy I made it for never got back to me...). Hope you don't mind that I moved the logo to the center top.
  8. The North American 3DS eShop is still up and running. No way they'd just shut it down without at least a forewarning.
  9. Smash is actually not what got me into Fire Emblem, as I never had 64 or Melee and due to not yet being allowed to surf the internet at the time, I knew nothing of the series reps besides Mario and Kirby. One day in the mid 2000's we bought a couple GBA games. We got FE7 (and later FE8) and around the time Brawl was coming out, I was able to use the internet so I learned about FE's history and watched some footage of the older games. I then watched some vids of the Zephiel battle in FE6 (both normal and w/hacks), recognized Roy from reading up on Melee's roster, then it clicking for me when I saw young Roy during a second viewing of FE7's epilogue. I became an Emblemier that day. Ok, so that was a bit inverted. What did I actually get into through Smash? Well, with Brawl being the first Smash I owned, we got Metal Gear Solid on PS1, and 2 through 4 later on (even got the special versions of 2 and 3, the latter containing the original Metal Gear 1 and 2 from the MSX). But the most interesting thing is the other series Smash introduced me to: Before and during Brawl's hayday, I had also stumbled upon Super Smash Flash over on Newgrounds, and when I played it with my younger sister, we both rather enjoyed using Lloyd. After looking up his origin, me and especially my younger sis' took a notable interest in the Tales of series (she even watched the Symphonia OVA, and probably the others). Several years later I got my sis the PS3 remaster Tales of Symphonia Chronicles for her birthday so we could finally play Lloyd's game together, and though the only other one we've played since is Xillia 1, I think it's safe to play we've both become fans of the series. This is also why Lloyd is my main want for Fighters Pass 2. Still no return of his mii costume as of yet... I wonder if anyone else was introduced to a series through Super Smash Flash 1 and 2...
  10. These days I alternate watching BlazingKnight, Ghast, and MageKnight404. Once in a blue moon I go back to check up on Shadowofchaos' content. Not exactly sure he counts, but The Green Scorpion does love him some Fire Emblem, and his Blazing Blade LP is one of the most popular on his channel. Incidentally he recently started an LP of Path of Radiance. Both of these LP's are also Ironman challenges.
  11. Just for fun I decided to make an English mock-up for you, even threw in the spine as a bonus (sorry, no back side. I doubt anybody's bothered to translate that). Took me all day to put together. It should be close to the actual size so you can slip it right into an actual DS game box.
  12. Consider Duma's final words, Falchion lodged in his skull: "Now we shall sleep, and never will you disturb our slumber." I'd like to think that removing Falchion would then disturb their slumber. Why would you remove the sword you just used to seal away a dragon god? And prior to Alm obtaining it, it was sealed in Mila's skull, rendering her helpless. As for why Alm has it in Chapter 6? It's just so you can continue to enjoy using it in endgame+. This and all other endgame+ modes in the series are non-canon. The Trial Maps (FE6, FE9) and Creature Campaign (FE8) allow you to use characters, even villains, from the main story who are dead or were otherwise not playable. Thabes and Grima's backstory are just a bonus. Pretty sure Ike returned Ragnell to Begnion at the end of FE9, yet he can still use it in the Trial Maps. Concerning all the weapon references in Awakening such as "Alm's Blade", first of all I think it's perfectly reasonable to presume Alm's Blade is the Royal Sword. Could we not also make similar presumptions for other weapons? The way I see it Hector's Axe is Wolf Beil, Leif's Blade is Light Sword, and Ephraim's Lance is Reginleif, Finn's Lance is his Brave Lance (w/o the brave effect), Eliwood's Blade and Roy's Blade are Elibean rapiers (w/o cav/armor effectiveness), and Eirika's Blade is a Magvel rapier (the brave effect probably reflects Eirika being a myrmidon-esque Lord like Lyn, but with a horse on promotion). I think the [Noble] Rapier are Archinean or refined Yllisean rapiers. I may be wrong and these may have just been up to our interpretation. And second of all, Awakening was to be the series swan song after all; who freaking cared (or cares) if anyone can wield Jugdral's holy weapons or that any A-rank swordsman can wield Ragnell? I sure don't. It's all in good fun, certainly a fun way to theorectically close out the series. With this in mind, I quite honestly think you guys might be reading too much into what is, again, simply open to interpretation. I'll reiterate the OP's notion that we aren't saying get rid of the Kingsfang; we just want to make sure the Royal Sword doesn't get left behind. Armads and Sol Katti would like a word with you. Yes, I know Sol Katti is technically not "legendary". Even Athos makes this point himself. But for these intents and purposes, it counts.
  13. Yes, 100%. Times like this I wish we could Like posts. The Royal Sword really is Alm's signature weapon, being depicted in his official render (and thusly, his amiibo). The Falchions have had more than enough spotlight, especially in Heroes, and even Smash has 3 of the 4.
  14. @vanguard333 @ciphertul I may consider Grancrest. I haven't watched GoT and since I haven't seen a lot of anime, its clichés have yet to be oversaturated. I've seen the first episode of The Sacred Blacksmith and a bit of The Seven Deadly Sins; they looked good, so I may get into those first.
  15. The debut of the Pokemon anime on Kids' WB was my actual introduction to anime. 'Course, I was a young'in with no clue about foreign animation. Along with Pokemon I grew up watching Digimon and Yu-Gi-Oh. And then came the abundance of anime on the Fox Box/4Kids' TV network in the early 2000's. Between this and having seen Howl's Moving Castle at the time--and realizing it was the same studio that made Kiki's Delivery Service which I had also seen--is around the time I started to understand what anime is as well as the fact that animation is made in several countries around the world. Also helps that my sisters watched and enjoyed many particular anime as they released. Now, I don't watch a bunch of anime either, but I accept and enjoy the form it takes; to me, it's simply how cartoons are done in Japan. Now, Digimon and Yu-Gi-Oh are some of my favorite childhood shows. These days, I feel like my tastes are somewhat influenced from playing Fire Emblem and video games in general; it is at least part of the reason I thoroughly enjoyed Rising of the Shield Hero. I know this varies greatly by location, but in the 90's (at least for me) the network was called Fox Kids. The Fox Box was in the early 2000's. Though I don't remember any anime on the Fox Kids network that aired here. If there were any, I was totally oblivious and/or didn't care. ...Who knows.
  16. o_o Goodness. What, did you move to a farm or something?
  17. Ross is probably the most useful since he'll usually end up a better Berserker than Dozla. Ewan is nice if you don't want to wait for Knoll to have access to dark magic. Amelia I think is a middle ground given her promotion branches. However with FE8 especially, I also prefer to look at the stat caps as a deciding factor. There also the matter of the 3rd+ playthrough "Super Trainee" classes, as I like to call them: Super Journeyman is a poor choice for Ross. It's axe-locked with a crit bonus like Berserker, but other than 2 points of Res, Berserker has superior stat caps in every way. Super Recruit is lance-locked with a crit bonus, the only such for lances. Makes it somewhat unique for Amelia, and aside from Str her caps ain't too shabby (it's the only lance class with 30 Skill). A nice appetizer for the Soldiers we'd soon get in Tellius. Super Pupil is very interesting in that it has access to the whole trinity of magic (also making it the only class in FE8 that can use light and dark magic). It also has the highest speed of all magic classes (27), meaning Ewan will make the most out of Excaliber's speed bonus. ...Or you can revel in the hilarity of this young trainee mage boy casting Naglfar. It's certainly no Archsage Athos, but a neat class all the same.
  18. Congrats on your new home. My older sister + her husband & daughter moved into their new house last week. Doubt you can top their backyard koi pond, though. 😛
  19. I've never had the pleasure of playing Golden Sun, but honestly just hearing the announcer say "Matthew" would make my day and then some. Hats off to all you other Matthew's out there.
  20. I'm feeling some déjà vu here. I'll keep it simple. ...Mostly. Fix weapon stats--or at least the hit rates--to FE7 standards. I truly feel this will make it more tolerable while also maintaining the intended amount of challenge. Give the Binding Blade infinite uses. Can't be anymore broken than Ragnell. ......OK, give it 50 or 60 uses if it must be limited, ANYTHING's better than that meager 20 uses. Oh, and make the Divine Dragonstone 60 uses, and make Flame Stones obtainable (w/ the original Divine Stone's 30 uses) Either have Merlinus function as in FE7 unit-wise, or have Roy be the Lord conRoy convoy as per the norm. Have a New Game+ that features Al, Gant, and Tina from the Champion's Blade manga that retells the game from the manga's--thusly, Al's--point of view (essentially Hector Mode). This of course entails additional chapters and perhaps additional movie cutscenes (see the final bullet point about cutscenes). Have Lilina fill a Lord role or at least a Lucina-esque secondary Lord role. Maybe even a unique class line. Mage Lord, anyone? Give Roy and Lilina special promotion items (like in FE8) but if Roy doesn't use it before obtaining the Binding Blade, it is forced. With this in mind, have Roy's Master Lord model take cues from his Smash 4/Ultimate model. The movie cutscene where Roy obtains the BB shows him in his Master Lord attire even if he hasn't promoted beforehand. Unless they want to animate it twice for promoted and unpromoted Roy; they can do whichever. I know it goes without saying that this remake would/will have full voice acting and movie/2D/anime/what-have-you cutscenes (done by which studio? Idk. This bullet point could very well be it's own topic), but I wanted to list a few scenes in the game I'd like to see get movie cutscenes (I combed through the script to make sure I got these right): The opening/prelude: Basically animating FE7's epilogue where Roy and Lilina are introduced to each other as kids while Eliwood and Hector ponder about recent happenings in Bern, followed by Jahn making his presence known to Zephiel which makes him (Zephiel) give that slasher smile. Finally the actual prelude plays with voiced narration, and then the lightning strikes down, bringing forth the game's title: Fire Emblem Echoes: The Binding Blade [or whatever they'd end up calling it]. I can see this cutscene giving off similar vibes to SoV's prelude. The end of Chapter 3: Hector says his dying words to Roy. It's sure to be an impactful gut punch for FE7 players who haven't yet played FE6. The end of Chapter 8: Roy and Lilina rejoice at their reunion (sound familiar?) but it turns bittersweet when Roy tells her Hector has passed. Lilina tries to hold back her tears, saying she had been taught and prepared for this inevitability and wishes everyone would've just told her; she can take it. Roy comforts her and she cries into his shoulder. Marcus and Merlinus have their heads down in sorrow. Merlinus wipes away some tears, muttering softly, "Oh Master Roy...Lady Lilina......I'm so sorry." The aforementioned acquisition of the Binding Blade. Easy enough to picture. Mid-chapter 22 once the throne room is revealed: Roy and Zephiel have their argument about humanity. They then begin to fight. They clash swords several times. Zephiel performs an Insineous Dine (I think that's what it's called in the manga) spin attack, and knocks Roy back. The scene ends with Roy staring down Zephiel, sweat visible towards one eye.
  21. Yes, you can use the CS soundtracks "The Shackled Wolves" and "At What Cost?" after beating it.
  22. First thing that had come to my mind was Renji's zanpakuto, Zabimaru, from Bleach. Minus the head, of course.
  23. Personally I think the Halo 3 Teaser from E3 2006 was one of the most hype trailers I had ever seen, even if I wouldn't get a 360 till nearly a decade later. Seriously that music and especially the end with the "3" in the O, "Bungie", and "Finish the Fight! 2007"; it still gives me goosebumps just thinking about it.
  24. I'd very much like something. I don't want to stick with my Mii. To put it quite bluntly, I'm rather flabbergasted there's nothing from FE or even Smash; they couldn't even at the very least give us each of the series icons used in Smash. Melee Battlefield icon, anyone? Those alone would give us more variety, and they'd hardly take any space at all.
  25. First off, the term we're looking for here is "midquel", as it takes place between FE6 and 7 (like how Thracia 776 takes place between a few chapters of Genealogy; that too is a midquel) Secondly, I think it would be better if Al's story were done as a Hector Mode of sorts. This way you can have the manga characters and their intertwining story without retconning the original or hogging all of Roy's spotlight the first time through. R.I.P. Lilina Mode And after clearing Al Mode, you could use the manga characters in Roy Mode with zero bearing on the story, kind of like the Ashen Wolves. ...So long as Merlinus at least levels up by chapter survival like in FE7. Because I highly doubt anyone has ever legitimately made him survive 2000 battles just to max his level.
