    It's definitely difficult to draw a definitive conclusion on the situation in Ukraine due to the raging information wars. I can definitely see why Russia would not be too happy about it's neighboring countries moving closer to NATO and the west in general, and Ukraine certainly has done it's fair share of mistakes. Whilst Russia seems to be the aggressor here, I will still say that the EU and NATO have certainly been generating some provocation themselves. Also, as Finland happens to share a rather lengthy border with Russia, the general mood here is rather distressed. A large portion of the population harbors very antagonistic opinions about Russia (surprisingly many still have first-hand experiences from WW2, and the annexation of certain areas of Eastern Finland during that time still cause desires of revenge in many), and they have, due to the ongoing crisis, been far more inclined about joining NATO. I personally hope that Finland will maintain it's armed neutrality, since I presume a NATO membership would do little more than give a provocative message about Finland.

    I have an unhealthy tendency to enjoy killing off Matthis. Every single rendition of his mug always irritates the hell out of me. Not really an antagonist, but still.

    The books function as two separate games, so yes. I think every playable character surviving tends to be the default assumption, since every FE9 character (sans Largo, who was nonetheless still alive) was playable in Radiant Dawn, for example.

    Kris gaining the honors of all of Marth's deeds is retarded (and fortunately, can be argued not to be canon), true, but I guess the canonicality of the Assassins subplot is just something we're all going to have to live with.

    That'd probably be the fault of the dubbers. It's likely they just didn't have any context whilst dubbing and ended up using that pronunciation.

    It isn't really a matter of whatever one happens to consider canon, since FE11 most definitely is. And sure, FE1 is still canon since 11 didn't negate anything about it, only added to it.

    The name was most likely based on the war god, since FE has never been subtle about it's mythological references, haha. I mean fgs, Bastian was originally Ulysses in the NoJ version.

    The "Marquess Caelin" etc. seems to be only a titular thing; I don't think it's actually their last name. There have been similar trends in FE10 for example (Duke Gaddos, Duke Persis, etc.). I don't remember if any of the lords other than Alm had any established canon last names.

    Well, almost none of the SMT spinoffs have ever been labeled as SMT in Japan, other than some Devil Children games and such, IIRC. The label was there for marketing reasons only, and since Persona has outsold the main series internationally, there isn't much point in keeping it there. But I agree, there likely won't be any Persona characters involved, nor do I think there should be.

    True fans solo FE3 with Tomth. Also, only two Persona games have ever employed social links. And it's entirely a Persona-exclusive thing, so no other SMT titles.

    The Plinkett reviews are, at times, annoying and almost always biased in regards to basically everything, but I think in practice the method served in proving his point well. Yes, Qui-Gon certainly had his distinct character traits, but they aren't always prominent due to how the movie itself presents him.

    RedLetterMedia? But yeah, The character of the MU's in both FE12 and 13 is outright repulsive. I essentially just make my own headcanon, in which the MU's just flat out don't exist.

    Only one use is ever consumed by one Astra, IIRC.

    I don't recall them ever playing in FE1. Track 1 honestly sounds like it could have been an intended sound effect for seizing the throne, etc. and track 2 sounds really similar to what you hear when promoting your units. So I'd assume they are just unused tracks. Either that or their in-game appearances have been really well hidden.

    The general consensus on the term "triple-A game" indicates a budget for development and marketing MUCH higher than that of Awakening's. FE13 might be costly compared to the DSFE's or something akin to that, but it's still far, far away from that triple-A status.

    Then again, I can't really recall too many Japanese games advocating homosexual relationships. It's happened a few times, but I don't think there's all that much pressure from the LGBT community or any supporting or opposing parties thereof on the Japanese front. IIRC, the Japanese have a tendency of not protesting against or for sexual minorities. Correct me if I'm misguided, though. Regardless, I agree that it's unfortunate. Implementing same-sex pairs could have made the pairing system so much more interesting and fleshed out the characters much more. Also also, such a vast majority of the characters have been constructed to be so obvious fetish fuel that we might as well go all-out with their sexualization, goddamnit.
