  1. Specifically, this is my situation: I have an original generation, North American, regular 3DS and whatever SD card came standard on it. The only things that I've downloaded are some DLCs (FE: Awakening DLC, Persona Q DLC, SMT IV DLC). These take up a total of: 937 blocks (FE Awakening), 107 blocks (SMT IV) and 4 blocks (Persona Q). The data management system on my 3DS says that I have 13,241 open blocks remaining. My plan for the game is to arbitrarily purchase one of the versions, buy the other as the DLC, and then buy the third route as DLC as well. However, I don't know how big they are as DLCs. Would I be able to comfortably fit the 2nd route, as well as the third route, assuming its of fairly comparable size, as well as some amount of the other DLCs that they might release? The first route will be PHYSICAL. Or do I need to buy a larger SD card? If I do need a larger one, what would I need to do to transfer my data to the expanded SD card? (No need to answer this latter question if my remaining space is already big enough). Thanks. ADDENDUM: Someone on GameFAQs gave me this answer: is it correct? "Apparently, the yet to be released 3rd path will take up 599 blocks (about 75 MB). So if you bought Birthright, then Conquest uses up 880 blocks (around 110 MB), you should have more than enough room and I assume Birthright is roughly about the same size as Conquest." If this is true, I should be fine.
  2. Well, her lance rank would encourage a Pegasus Warrior upgrade, yes, at least until you ground out other weapon ranks…. Although she DOES have a natural swordfaire to access if she reclasses into her inherited Samurai class tree from her father via Trueblade. So she could use that in classes like Trueblade, Weapons Master, Hero (marry a character who gives it to her, such as Corrin with that as a promotion of his secondary, or inherit it onto her via 3rd route Luna), Dark Knight (via marriage seals) [although B-rank swords isn't as desirable], marrying someone who can give her the Paladin class, etc. Of course, I suppose Shara A+ can give her Spellcaster, which thus grants her both Excorcist and Basara, assuming we're correct about this A+ being there for this pair. So Basara would let her exploit her Lance rank while having the chance to built her Tome rank (and pick up Tomefaire from Excorcist) Although picking up Tomefaire will cost 4 levels (first two levels for Spellcaster skills, then 2 levels more for Excorcist skills), and if you wanted the Basara skills that would cost you two more… Although Basara would probably rather have Lancefaire, as it gets A-rank lances but only B-rank tomes…. A-rank tomes would be for Spellcaster itself, Sorcerer, Dark Flier, Dark Knight, etc.
  3. Well, certain characters can still tip Matoi to the physical side… even a +1 str and -1 magic, or a +2 strength and -0 Magic combination would be enough to make her end up with more strength than magic. Example: Hinoka (+1 str, -1 Magic) turns Matoi into a +1 strength, +0 magic unit. Whereas Luna turns her into a -1 str, +1 magic unit. But of course, Matoi's mods are inherently biased to magic from her father, as he penalizes her strength by 1 but does nothing to her magic. But its only a slight bias that can easily be shifted. As for my observation about Prodigy: be warned that I don't actually have the game, so I'm basing this entry on the descriptions in the information that the admins have been posting on the Fates page for obtainable skill descriptions. If their descriptions are incorrect for some reason, I'd be incorrect as well. But it does seem reasonable.
  4. So, Matoi has an A+ option with Shara/Syalla? Is this confirmed… Interesting… I comment on that given that some Matoi's actually end up with better magic mods than strength mods (not that hard when her father is -1 Str, +0 Mag), with the catch that her magic growth rate is low (15) and her father's is 20. But assuming infinite grinding and stat boosters/hypothetical grind DLC (if it comes out)/the level cap raising seals, etc., she might technically have stats better suited to magic using than physical. Another example: 3rd route Luna!Matoi gets -1 str, +1 magic, because both parents have -1 Str and +0 Mag and then the child bonus kicks in. (Luna's magic growth rate is terrible, that said, so magical Matoi would not be something expected in regular 20/20 play). If she can get Spellcaster off of Shara, then that would mean that she can pick up Tomefaire, as well as use a caster class. Oh, and I've noticed… faires just increase damage in this game… they don't increase magic/strength in this game (directly), do they? This means that they synergize great with Prodigy, as they let Matoi amp her damage output in whatever weapon she's taken the faire in without necessarily losing the Prodigy bonus she would have had before against the same enemy.
  5. A question about the Mechanics of Matoi's Prodigy personal skill… Prodigy At the start of the battle, if the enemy’s Strength or Magic (whichever is highest) is higher than Matoi’s corresponding stat, damage +4 I was thinking about the exact wording of this and its interaction with the weapon-faire and other damage boosting skills. Namely, Lancefaire and the like are no longer phrased as "increasing strength by 5 when a lance is equipped (or magic by 5 when a Shockstick is equipped)". Its now instead: Lancefaire When user is equipped with a Lance, damage +5 during battle (Lancefaire can be obtained from a few different Matoi's class sets, including Hinoka!Matoi and Oboro!Matoi) She could also just be a Trueblade or Weapons Master instead to be able to use her natural Swordfaire regardless of parentage. Likewise, consider a skill like Line of Death, which Matoi should always be capable of learning should you choose the invest your levels into doing so because her father passes down the Samurai/Trueblade/Weapon Master tree. Line of Death During battles, damage +10, damage received +10 Weapon Master And of course, similar things could be applied to stuff like the Bowman skill Prescient Victory, if she picked it up via a Buddy Seal, Marriage Seal, or class/skill Inheritance. Prescient Victory When user triggers the battle, damage +4 Bowman The key thing that I'm seeing here is that none of these things actually boost Matoi's actual strength or magic stats. So am I wrong here, or couldn't Matoi stack a bunch of these skills to obtain a pretty high damage output and still get credit for Prodigy's +4 damage bonus if she could do so before as she'll have never actually increased her actual strength/magic stats from these skills?
  6. Well, if there are no other enemies in range of the buff effect and the attack is going to kill the enemy, then there would be no drawback… But seriously, that seems WAY too situational.
  7. Yeah, I could use the A+ options too…
  8. SerenesForest user Arya reported this to us based on the character they received in their own game. Yes, it seems that Aqua's signature class gets replaced with Rod Knight for her child. As for inheriting…. I'm actually not quite sure how that particular circumstance works… we have a pretty good grip on it, but there might be special cases or exceptions that we haven't noticed yet. Generally, it appears to be: 1. They have a starting class of their own 2. They inherit the associated parent's base class, or the secondary if they don't already have it. 3. They inherit in the same manner from the father. HOWEVER, I don't know how this rule interacts if the inherited class or replacement class from the mother is the same as primary of the father. None of the examples that Arya or others (like Xion333 on GameFAQs) provided me covered this exact situation, to my knowledge and recollection (unless I recall wrong). So I don't really know how this will interact. Cavalier might be inherited, but I'm not sure.
  9. That's interesting… I don't have the game to confirm, but then it would be almost identical in most cases, only with a -2 crit downward shift. I wonder why…. could it perhaps have to do with the modifications they made to its counter-stat, the luck stat?
  10. Thinking about things, Rod Knight would be a pretty amazing class to give to anyone whom you planned to be a Falcon Knight to make them even better at their specialized purpose. This is because their combination of high speed, resistance, mirror strike make them already pretty resilient to magic, although Mirror Strike only works on the player phase. For further reducing the chance of receiving any damage on the player phase (against very strong magic) or to provide protection against it on the enemy phase when Mirror Strike doesn't work, Tomebreaker from Maid, the Rod Knight promotion, would give tons of evasion to compound WTA. And if you instead wanted to run a support Falcon Knight, you could exploit Servant's Joy to take advantage of the fact that they can use B-rank staves and thus function as healers.
  11. It IS FAKE… that's already been discussed in this very thread. On this very page… Look at different entries on the page and you'll find links to the REAL support. Its not translated yet, that said.
  12. Okay, thanks… I guess that Diamond Strike is weaker because it would counter a far greater variety of weapons, and would thus be overpowered if it had Mirror Strike's power level. On that notes, since Falcon Warriors are supposed to be mage killers (just like they were in Awakening, but even more so now with Mirror Strike, WTA, and the lack of effective spells against them outside of Excalibur, I suppose that Rod Knight would be a very powerful anti-mage choice for their marriage seal/buddy seal thanks to the Maid/Butler's Tomebreaker…. that would mean that mages would have to struggle against their high speed (thus high evasion), weapon triangle advantage (lowered hit for the mage), and tome breaker (+50 avoid against tomes)…. Thinking about it, that would also complement the fact that Falcon Knight is a B-rank staff using class as well, so they could even utilize the Maid/Butler's Servant's joy if they wanted to play more of a supporting role than and offensive role.
  13. Just double checking… The data on this site says that Diamond Strike is physical damage -10, while Mirror Strike is magic damage -20…. is this correct that Mirror Strike is twice as potent, or is this a typo?
  14. Mostly undecided, except on a few: Hoshido: Male Avatar x Hinoka!Matoi 3rd Route: Male Avatar x Luna!Matoi or Hinoka!Matoi
  15. Okay, good to know! Now I just need to be patient and wait for someone to be kind/generous enough to use their time to translate it. But at least that means that the general idea that I got from it is roughly applicable, even if the specific words come out much clearer when translated by a human instead of by a machine.
  16. Each class now has its own weapon level caps which vary from class to class, like classes/characters in Genealogy of the Holy War. S-ranks are reserved for a very narrow range of classes, normally single-weapon classes like Trueblade, Berserker, Holy Bowman, Holy Lancer, or Sorcerer.
  17. I was looking on the internet and I think I found an (untranslated) Matoi/male Kamui support on pastebin that doesn't look like an obvious fake like the case of the Cordelia copy paste above. I ran it through a quick Google translate and was able to get a rough sense of it, but of course the Google translate translation was atrocious (in the quality of translation, not in the support itself). Does anyone want to translate the actual thing or want to confirm if its the real version of the support or not? http://pastebin.com/11QEzT2p
  18. Answer: Its pretty stupid and handwaving the issue, but whatever.
  19. Where is the A+ list for buddying?
  20. I was, but not everyone in the optimization threads have been doing so…. Since they lead to such greatly different approaches on the matter, I was almost thinking we should create two new threads, such that their titles explicitly indicate that one's for streetpass/logbook doppelgänger abuse optimization and one's for traditional optimization from natural and inherited skillsets (the sort of stuff you can do even without the internet or if the internet support for the game is one day suspended).
  21. I have no interest in PvP, on that note…. My interest is doing the best I can while simultaneously holding to certain constraints reflective of what I'd like to envision my Avatar as (such as his class and who he's paired with)….. constrained optimization, if you would…. something that's not the best on the absolute scale, but is the best within a clearly specified SUBSET of the available options.
  22. Perhaps… although there's also the support conversations for Matoi with
  23. Its not so much a debate as me rambling… I think I've posted most of the material on Hinoka vs. Matoi, pretty much arguing with myself back and forth. This is of course because I'm a massive fan of Cordelia from Awakening and now that Matoi has been revealed, I'ld like the opportunity to have her emulate Cordelia to the extents that are possible/reasonable. Not to mention that with the issue that you seemingly cannot get all of the the children as a male Corrin unless you marry one of the Kamui-only marriage candidates or a second gen, and that makes Matoi (who is also a second gen) even more appealing on top of my pre-existing positive bias for her, as it gives me a gameplay excuse to pick a second gen like her anyways. But on that note, what asset/flaws do you think that I should take if I want Corrin to marry either Hinoka!Matoi or Luna!Matoi? From an optimization within such constraints consideration? Of course, I kind of want to run a magical (or hybrid) Avatar because that's the sort of stuff that appeals to me, but I'm not going to pretend that that would be optimal. Although if I did, what asset/flaw for a magical avatar marrying one of these Matoi's would you recommend? (The reasons why going magic might not be optimal with her would be she doesn't have a huge magic mod and all of her parents only have magic growths from 5% - 20% personal, which means it could take a long time to bring her up to being good at magic…. ALTHOUGH hybrid classes like Basara and Dark Knight do exist, which would allow her to use a physical weapon while slowly bringing up her magic. Hinoka!Matoi gets +1 Str and +0 magic, so she has a slight lean to strength, but could still conceivably go hybrid when maxed out. Luna!Matoi gets -1 Str and +1 Mag, so she tilts to magic in modifier terms, even though it would take ages to get up there… although -1 Str isn't exactly insurmountably terrible…. both of her parents also have that, for example… and she does naturally get Swordfaire access through Samurai. Any thoughts on what I should go with for my secondary? I had been vaguely thinking about Dark Mage because it would grant my character the option for S-rank tomes, offer their skills (not available in the Hoshido path, to my knowledge, and in 3rd path letting a marriage sealed Luna!Matoi imitate Cordelia extremely closely (except for the replacement of Dark Flier with Golden Kite Warrior and Dark Flier becoming Dark Falcon as DLC)….. or I suppose I could go with Spellcaster (to get Excorcist's Tomefaire + the hybrid Basara)….. Thoughts?
  24. I ship for a bit of both, really… I make allowances for couples that I really like, and then ship for stats/skills for couples that I don't have strong preferences for among the remaining characters.
