  1. I mean, I guess Moulder's got physical resilience going for him, but I definitely agree with you there. Plus his Con makes it difficult for anyone not mounted to rescue him.
  2. Clarine/Cecilia: She has better availability, a broken support in the form of Rutger, and better stats. You could make the argument to relegate Cecilia to staffbot status, but that's about all she's good for. Lowen/Sain: This is personal preference for me. Sain hits stupidly hard, but I really don't care for his stat spread. He never gets quite enough speed to double much until near the end of the game nor does he get enough defense to justify using him as a front-line unit. His support with Kent patches these deficiencies up a bit, however. Lowen might be a worse unit from a purely statistical standpoint due to his low skill and speed, but I like having a tanky paladin that can support with units that can snipe from a distance like Rebecca. Moulder/Natasha: 'Tasha's a better bishop whereas Moulder's high CON lends more credence to him being a sage. I prefer my magic users to hit hard though, and Moulder's magic growth doesn't really allow that even when using higher-level tomes. He's a remarkable healer, though. Natasha beats out Moulder in both magic and resistance as well as luck. Additionally, her support options are less shallow than Moulder's - she's compatible with great units like Seth and Joshua. Artur/Lute: Lute has access to better mobility as MK or higher magic overall as sage, the former of which being something that Artur can't ever hope to have. I've had Arty cap magic as Bishop which is more useful on CC and you already have perfectly serviceable sages in the forms of Moulder, Saleh, and perhaps Lute.
  3. Use Sophia and Wendy if you want. Just don't be surprised if they're unable to keep up with your main team. There's little reason to use Sophia over Raigh or even Niime, but your call. As for Wendy, I've actually had her turn out well once or twice. She just has a terrible start time due to the fact that she joins right before you're heading off to Axeville, Elibe. On the flipside, it's a good place to train Oujay and Fir if you feel up to trying them out.
  4. Give Wallace a slight boost to all of his stats and raise his level to 15. Also, give him growth bonuses in speed and skill. (Also also, use him on LHM so that his promotion isn't forced.) Give Guy Joshua's growth rates and raise his HP to mitigate his poor defenses. Isadora should be buffed significantly and be given Seth's growth rates. Same with Louise, but with Innes's. Bump Rath to level 14 and adjust his stats accordingly. Heath, to level 12. Lastly, Nino could be level 17+ and have stats to reflect this.
  5. Corrin is about the least memorable lord I can think of. Roy is about as fascinating as a sack of potatoes, but even a sack of potatoes can be memorable. He's just not a good unit. >_>
  6. I'd fish around for a Thunder Stone and try to evolve you into a Jolteon.
  7. Agreed. I think it just capitalizes on Marcia's zaniness more than anything else.
  8. When I was in college, there were two options that provided the most long-term effectiveness for me: 1. Cognitive behavioral therapy, or CBT. It's daunting to put that much trust into a stranger, but some therapists are incredibly chill and able to picture themselves in your shoes. They're specifically trained to be an impartial ear to a myriad of issues. You'd be surprised how much simply talking about your issues helps. They don't necessarily tell you how to deal with these problems, but they cue your feelings into a certain direction that might lead to some clarity or personal revelation. Furthermore, they might be able to suggest strategies for managing anxiety and depression. They're always on your side. See if your insurance will cover it - in my case, my university covered it as part of our service fee. 2. Transcendental meditation. It doesn't have to be spiritual. All it takes is a few minutes of your time per day and a quiet room (which might seem a bit of a misnomer in college - which is why I did it outside!). Close your eyes and try to think about nothing other than your own breathing. Tell yourself that, in this moment, no matter how poignant your negative thoughts, you will not succumb to the darkness enveloping you. When you're able to do that, you can start piecing together peaceful images and thoughts in tandem with each breath. Me, I always conjured up the image of frost-glazed pine trees. On particularly bad days, when I found it nearly impossible to visualize any scene, I merely pictured a light collecting in my solar plexus that ebbed and flowed with every breath I took. Of course, the above solutions are not for everyone. You'll have to find something that works for you, but I believe that everyone has the potential to better themselves. Other than that, it wouldn't be a bad idea to structure out your days in accordance with your deadlines. Procrastinating is just about the worst thing you can do in college. Nobody plans to do it, obviously, but time management is a crucial skill to master.
  9. Well, Haar did once prefer to Marcia's pegasus as an "apple-eating fleabag"...
  10. Unpopular opinion: I find archers and snipers to be useful.
  11. There's no proper arena after Nino joins. While there technically is one in Chapter 29Ex/31Hx, you only have five turns to use it. Best place to train her is the gaiden chapter immediately following her join time or during Cog of Destiny. Also, give her the Afa's Drops. In FE8, virtually everyone is at least somewhat viable. Use Amelia at your discretion, though - I've seldom had her turn out decently.
  12. I'm in support of it as long as it isn't used as a crutch for harmful or injurious behavior. There's also the risk of STI contraction, but I would imagine that both clients and prostitutes alike would be required by law to provide adequate documentation to prove the absence of such infections. Similarly, I would assume that both parties would sign waivers of consent that would also stipulate general information such as hourly rate and legal implications behind contract infractions. The Netherlands, specifically Amsterdam, seems an effective example of this, although I'm not familiar with specifics. Case in point, if you're willing to pay and partake in it safely, I'm all for it.
  13. I feel like every available unit has their own valuable niche on normal mode. For example, even though Dorcas and Bartre have stats that might leave much to be desired in the long-term, they hit enemies quite hard in the early game. Because they're extremely unlikely to double, this allows weaker units like Rebecca to finish them off for some valuable EXP. It ultimately boils down to your own unique playstyle. I personally like to enlist a variety of classes and roles. I like having one or two mounted units and fliers, one or two speedy units, at least two mages and healers, one physical heavy-hitter, and one tank. Other players, however, may prefer to focus on mobility over diversity and deploy more horsemen and fliers. If ranking isn't an issue for you, feel free to experiment with different units! There's no wrong way to play the game as long as you aren't playing carelessly.

  16. Put most of my feathers into 5*ing the one Reinhardt I pulled. Otherwise, I might look into trying to feed Camilla some more 4* clones. But... I really want Minerva. :/
  17. My profile pic 'tis Vash the Stampede from Trigun. What is the most exotic food you've ever tried?
  18. I like how you're trying to preserve your sanity here. That being said, enjoy Kellam.
  19. Oh, dear. Where do I even begin? Wendy is worth it if you put in the effort to train her up. Don't bother training up the Dawn Brigade. They'll just become dead weight come late game. The usual "don't use Jagens, they eat up EXP" spiel. The FE8 trainee units are integral to a great playthrough. (14 year old me was an ardent supporter of underdogs, apparently.) Finally, the single worst thing I've ever said apropos to an FE game: Don't use Seth.
  20. Came here to echo what's been previously said. I'm less familiar with Fates than I am with previous titles, but here's my two cents regardless: Your primary stats are ATK, DEF/RES, and SPD, but I do tend to factor in SKL when choosing which weapons to assign to which unit. Less accurate weapons are more suitable for units with high SKL. The same goes for killer weapons. In Fates, pay close attention to the secondary effects of certain weapons, but I'm sure you know to do this already. If you consider playing the GBA titles in the future, don't neglect your CON, either. This is a static stat that cannot be changed unless you use a Body Ring, but it basically governs whether or not your units will take a speed penalty when wielding certain weapons. For example, a unit with a CON of 9 would take a 5 point penalty to their speed stat if they tried wielding a Steel Blade, which weighs 14.
  21. @Robert of Normandy I don't particularly have an opinion. I tend to lean towards pork sausage since I prefer savory meats, but one could do worse than turkey sausage. What is one country that you feel you must travel to before you die?
  22. Gee, it sure is boring around here...
  23. @both I vastly prefer Brotherhood. It ranks among some of my favorite anime of all time.
  24. FE6: Raigh (Deke) Honorable mention for Hugh: "She's always getting these really bad headaches around her back..." FE7: Pent (Lyn) FE8: Lute (Cormag) FE9: Ilyana (Titania) FE10: Nolan (Tibarn) FE12: Malice (Minerva) FE13: Lucina (Henry) FE14: Ryoma (Leo) FE15: Mathilda (Saber)
