  1. *squints at banner* Take a guess. Go on, take a guess. Yeah, it's obviously Dorcas. Obviously.
  2. On NM I actually prefer using Oujay over Dieck. Rutger is a little harder for me to shake off because I like him more as a character and as a unit, but if you're willing to put in the effort to train Fir, she makes a serviceable swordmaster as well. On HM, yeah, I highly recommend using Dieck and Rutger.
  3. Gatrie's especially good if you give him Astrid's Knight Ward.
  4. I think people are drawn to how selfless and humble she is. No, wait, did I just say that? It's definitely the fact that she's waifu material.
  5. My vote goes to Arthur. I bitterly dislike his personality and how much of a chauvinistic stereotype he exudes. He and Peri should get together sometime on the basis of them both being so insufferable. You can write a selfless character without making him an alpha male, IntSys. I don't like Roy all that much either, but I'd much rather him have the personality of stale mashed potatoes than be a self-professed, overly self-assured "Hero of Justice".

  7. No, it does not. End of discussion. But in reality though you can put pineapple on pizza. You do you, friendos. As long as I'm not eating said pizza we're good.
  8. This might sound weird, but I really dig that doorframe. Love the woodwork on it as well as on the rest of what I assume to be a cabin? Always wanted to live in a cozy cabin in the middle of nowhere!
  9. @Refa It is HM, but what's feasible in HM is often even more so in NM. So generally there can be some overlap if something works in the former mode.
  10. Ugh, don't even get me started on Renault. 12 magic on a level 16 Bishop is inexcusable.
  11. Raven and Florina, both with nearly capped defense. It was weird, to say the least.
  12. Harken's niche for me is a solution to Raven's susceptibility to being RNG-screwed, but I haven't really had an RNG-screwed Raven in any of my playthroughs. Harken's definitely a solid unit though. As for Karel... I kind of like him too. Swordmasters in FE7 aren't nearly the swift powerhouses they were in FE6, but I had a pretty good streak going on with Karel. Objectively, yes, he is a worse unit than Harken, but I'm biased towards swordmasters on the basis of flair and skill/speed. I tried using Guy in one of my playthroughs, and he was made of glass. Also, his strength could barely cut butter. And because I wanted a swordmaster, Karel had to fit the bill. Perhaps my one experience with Karel was oddly good because of how RNG-blessed he was, but the guy avoided everything thrown at him and actually had decent enough strength and skill to deal some heavy damage. Moreover, the Wo Dao is such a pretty blade...
  13. I prefer Karel. Harken's solid, but the Wo Dao is too good of a sword to pass up. Besides, my hero niche is always filled by Raven.
  14. Playing a better translation of Binding Blade. Up through Chapter 9 currently.
  15. FE6: The ones that particularly stuck out to me were Geese and Oujay. Geese is often eschewed in favor of Gonzales in terms of pure damage output, while the latter often gets a bad wrap because Dieck exists and is almost always better. This kind of boils down to personal preference: I prefer Geese because he can actually hit his target with an axe and still has solid chances of critting and is better at taking hits for me. As for Oujay, as good as Dieck is, I actually prefer my heroes to be on the speedier side, and I almost never use axes with them. Plus, my Rutger mysteriously got speed screwed in my most recent playthrough, so I might just wind up using both Dieck and Oujay, as much as I love swordmasters in this game. FE7: I guess people consider Canas and Erk to be pretty average, but they've turned out amazingly for me. FE8: Moulder the Boulder and his colossal con and solid defense growth. Second best sage I ever had. FE9: I decided to dump all my BEXP into Tormod once, and he wound up as one of the best units in my team. Celerity + spells + solid growths = win. Other than that, I'm told Makalov gets to be pretty good, but I don't particularly like his character... FE10: Strangely, I had a pretty solid streak going with Brom. He kept getting levels in speed and defense, and he even eclipsed Gatrie somehow. Still unsure as to how that happened. FE13: Gregor turned beast mode, as did Yarne. Both ended up as berserkers.
  16. It isn't so much that I don't finish the games I buy as much as it is I fail to even start them to begin with. My track record with this is worse on PC than it is on console, because at least I have incentive to play the latter due to higher prices and owning physical copies. With PC, things get a little finicky due to Steam sales, Humble Bundle, and so on. Lastly, I'm a glutton for familiarity, so I often replay the same game or series of games over and over in order to satiate that hunger.
  17. Born in Virginia, raised in upstate New York.
  18. I'm rooting for Nohr, largely because of the color scheme and available characters.
  19. Gilliam. My Amelia got horrendously RNG-screwed when I tried making her into a General. Her defense was still 4 as a level 5 Knight. Ridiculous. Regardless of how Gilliam's speed pans out, he'll tank like it's nothing, every single time. My Gilliam always ends up with maxed defense. I always give him the Swiftsoles to give him amazing movement and coverage.
  20. I typically used Zihark, but I recently made the switch over to Mia. I much prefer her in this game over PoR, where I prefer Zihark or Stefan.

  23. Nabata's Desert Messenger, even though it technically doesn't count.
  24. Hearkening back to a certain outrealm Great Knight's advice, you essentially pick a god and pray. That is, if you didn't have a guide. I knew to recruit Stefan because Nintendo Power had a section explicitly describing how to do so.
  25. Spend my remaining days with my family and girlfriend. We'd go out reminiscing on the good times.
