  1. Y'know, I just realized. All they have to do to screw with the current buff meta is release Veronica.
  2. Celica's main thing is that she doesn't need buffs to have firepower, so she's easier to tack onto a team. Tharja does much better with a buffing ally, especially now that the Fortify Res Seal has been released, but Celica can destroy everything by herself. If you inherit Draconic Aura and have her fight a 2-range/Distant Counter unit, doubling and killing will charge up DA instantly, and you get quite a strong delete button on things even though Ragnarok isn't active.
  3. I had to redo that one once too, not because I couldn't save the three dudes, but because they stole all of my EXP... I was on Hard Classic, and the NPCs didn't need to rely on dodges.
  4. I personally don't think the scale of a conflict is ever a limitation on the plot; large or small, it is down to the execution, which is always IS' key downfall. I like large scale conflicts, though. I think the smaller conflicts you suggested can be woven into a larger narrative, but I'm not sure if I'd want an entire FE game to be in that smaller circle.
  5. "Just because you've seen hell, doesn't mean you have the right to force it on others." Fernand may have a tragic past, but that doesn't excuse his attitude and actions. I pity him, but I don't have much sympathy for him.
  6. They have to retire the old maps first because every time the rotation with the lava and bridge maps come up 2% of the playerbase dies from strokes
  7. Can we just have these old Arena maps NEVER come back, except for a few like the desert one?
  8. One thing that was kind of cheese was that aside from a few set battles, you can just turtle out all dungeon battles for 3 turns using Invoke and killing the high Mov enemies, then when you retreat the enemies just despawn. I've abused this to get out of battles where I had to face off against three different hordes at the same time.
  9. Really? I got quite a few people to their 3rd tier promotions. I didn't grind. Did you hold off promoting to tier 2 or something?
  10. Camilla can kill 4/5 of the units on Lloyd's map if she needs to, so that's something I guess. Cecilia tanking the Bow Knight is pretty important though.
  11. B-but... She's good on Lloyd's map... Also Narcian's, which is coming back soon.
  12. I've tried to do things like resetting a 90 hit rate that missed, and after five tries, that 90 missed every time. I've also tried to rig 43% crits, and it didn't work either. I don't think it's just bad luck either, since I've attempted these multiple times. I can't remember if soft resetting a chapter also changed growths; I remember getting different level ups every time I had to reset a chapter.
  13. I think they balanced the amount of uses the Turnwheel gets around dungeons. Unlike in regular battles, Turnwheel uses do not replenish in dungeons until you leave or if you offer some form of alcohol to a Mila Shrine. I've tried using the Turnwheel to rig the RNG before, but it seems that it doesn't actually cause a true reroll; "high" RNG will still result in high, and same for low RNG, from what I've garnered. Also, it can't reroll growths.
  14. I see you have unlocked your true potential as a Summoner and found your peak time as well. Join me in stealing everyone's 5*s at the fated time. -Spd on Celica actually doesn't hurt that much if she's +Atk, if you give her Life and Death (or Swift Sparrow). It's still 40 Spd at full health, which is usually more than enough for most enemies.
  15. @Vaximillian The power balance of the relationship has shifted. @Ice Dragon There might be need for a second drawing.
  16. @CtrlAltSandwich I saw your thread, and I linked to it in the strat OP. But yeah, next time it's probably to just post in the big thread.
  17. One of the little things that really captivated me the most was the status screen artwork in this game. At first, I thought it was a bit weird to have a giant portrait of the selected unit right in front of me on the bottom screen, but after a while it really started to grow on me. I loved how everyone had different poses and expressions, which made simply scrolling from one unit to the other one really fun; you'd go from Lukas with his cool pose and serious face, then Clair not paying attention, then to Gray with his dumb smile. It really added to the uniqueness of the cast, imo. I also think that by putting the unit's face in the middle of the screen instead of at the top left corner, it really made me think of the units more as characters than just chess pieces holding a bunch of broken weapons and an Elixir. All these little aesthetic decisions are just amazing. I don't think I'd ever want them to go back to the static, expressionless portraits in Awakening and Fates.
  18. @TheNiddo @Thor Odinson I'll add/update you guys in a bit. It's mostly because of this:
  19. Eh, I don't remember Vantage coming into play in that strategy, did it?
