Sorry about the terrible wording >.<! I was just wondering since I was planning to use the Askr Royals as my bonus units from now on since they are always in rotation what would you recommend for the other three units? Sorry for being a pain bleh >.<

That's fine just wanted to make sure before I typed all this out.

Team Sharena would be Ryoma, Linde, Sharena, Nino/Julia. Azura can also be in the place of Linde though I usually recommend at least two range units if at all possible but the team would still work well with her she would just be a permanent dance bot.

Team Anna would be likely Ryoma/Tharja, Reinhardt, Azura/Nino & Julia, Anna. Tharja if and only if you're build allows her to counter Hector otherwise you must field Ryoma. Azura if you prefer the extra moment Julia & Nino if you need to take out Reinhardt on enemy phase.

Team Alphonse is the same as the team posted above just replace Roy and make sure he's properly equipped counter Hector or that your Nino/Julia can do it (some builds can do that).

Also all instances of Linde can be replaced with Reinhardt if you would prefer him.

  2. @Sakuto Okay going off your imgur here seems you're only going 5* bonus unit for this arena is Roy so let's build off that. Here are some options.

Roy, Linde/Reinhardt, Azura/Ephraim, Nino (I saw five star one in your picture)/Julia.

This is assuming your Linde has desperation active or your Azura can counter Ike and Xander. If not Replace Azura with Ephraim. Julia and Nino are fairly interchangeable in terms of usefulness so you should use whichever one you like to use more. This team has very few effective weakness it's only one that stands out is Kagero and some Zephiel builds if running Azura without the defensive tiles. If you're really worried about that you can replace Linde with Reinhardt assuming you have a five star version of him (didn't see one in the picture). This team can still kill Kagero you're just gonna have to attack her at close range.

Also just as a note I sure hope you're Julia or Nino have green tome breaker 3 because they're going to want it otherwise they're wise you're stuck baiting some those mages with Roy.

Peri [+Atk] (Brave Lance+, Escutcheon, Life and Death 3, Lancebreaker) one-round kills every vanilla red, blue, and colorless unit in the game (through Spring Festival) except +Def Gwendolyn (and +Spd Corrin (F) at higher merge levels) as well as all green tome users except +Spd Merric. She also has no trouble with fully built versions of common units of those colors, including Fury Ephraim (and excluding Triangle Adept green units).

Using Desperation 3 instead of Lancebreaker loses her her one-round kills against Effie, Subaki, and Fury + Lancebreaker Ephraim, but gives her better sustain against other lance users.

Abel can perform similar feats (and starts with Brave Lance+), and Cain does the same with a different color (and starts with Brave Sword+ and Escutcheon).

You called them mediocre with no relation to their position on the presented team.

Yep I meant to call them mediocre by comparison (or rather a mediocre addition to the team) rather than mediocre in general, should've been more clear with that...  I understand that Xander is usually said to be better choice to Cain so I assumed he was mediocre because of that, and considering that everyone gets Xander why use Cain. Peri I heard could be good but considering the heavy investment that is required to make her good and the fact that Camus will be coming hopefully soon, I can't recommend it.  Keep in mind I was also assuming standard weaponry as weapon inheritance is very expensive, I will admit my bad on Cain frankly I look at tier lists too much http://feheroes.gamepedia.com/Cain/Strategy and this one does not mention this build and it does not say he wants his standard weapon in fact it says he wants anything but it, this is the information I was going off of when I recommended against Cain.

Pfft. Cain and Peri (and Abel) are the best contenders for the same Brave glass cannon build that Hana is known for.

Cain (38/38), Abel (39/38), and Peri (39/39) with Hone Cavalry have barely lower stats than Hana (38/40) with Hone Atk 2 and Hone Spd 3 (from Eirika or Ephraim) while having 3 movement range and a much less restricting buff source (and Abel and Peri have an arguably better weapon type).

Okay sell me what can they do well that Xander and Ursula can't that's the main reason I called them mediocre because they are redundant for the team presented, and imo Xander and Ursula are better options for their color.

    Horse Emblem Question:

I beat the monthly quest without much trouble. It doesn't really even need a fully-fledged horsie team with buffs. Just some luck. I believe I used Cecilia, Peri, Xander, and Priscilla.

I'm slowly working on a better team for other purposes. I've got Xander probably as a permanent staple. (Still working on getting him Fury 3 and Cav Buff...) I also got my 4 star Ursula Barblade+, so she'll be my next upgrade. I know everyone sings Cecilia's praises (and I actually really like her with Gronblade), but it will be another few centuries before I get enough feathers to upgrade her. I've since gotten a 5* Cain and 5* Titania I can add to the mix. and Camus is probably coming soon...

Who should fill my final two slots for the time being? I'm leaning towards a team of Xander, Ursula, Titania, and Cain. Ursula and Titania could handle the mages while Xander and Cain could handle the melee, but Peri isn't a terrible unit. (Plus I already gave her Swordbreaker and a cav buff.) I plan on using all of these peeps eventually, but I need to narrow my focus or else I'll never get anything done. Plus I don't know much about Cain. I've heard mixed reviews... (I really like him at the moment.)

Right now if I were you I'd concentrate on the long term Horse Emblem goal and just play half Horse Emblem for now. I definitely wouldn't recommend investing a lot of inheritance into units you never plan to use full-time. Cain and Peri are just not worth lot of investment for mediocre units imo.  Just run a dancer or unit with heavy inheritance to increase your score. I'd wait for Cecilia, or Reinhardt to grace your presence before running full Horse Emblem or alternatively wait for Camus to come.

Edit:  Also as a small note there's a lot of units that want Cain's Brave Sword more than him it so might be a good idea to get not too attached.

The Rabbids are characters from the Rayman IP, though.

Anymore Syklanders belong to Sypro, not really. The first game is the only one (and maybe the second) to feature Rayman or any Rayman character. The core Rayman games released recently (origins and legends) also do not feature Rabbids. I think it is safe to assume that Ubisoft at least considered them separate IPs as they haven't seen any crossover in quite some time. Rayman was just probably shoved into the first game to give it name recognition.

  7. @Water Mage Holy crap one those pictures is a marketing timeline what doesn't leak these days. This confirms that Ubisoft does not consider this a small project and they actually going to really push this thing. They want to convince the general consumer to buy this not just kids considering that the General adult consumer finds Rabbids annoying it's going to be an uphill battle. It seems that Ubisoft takes the chance to work with the Mario Brand very seriously. But one has to wonder if they really wanted mass-market appeal why did Ubisoft pick a Rabbids out all of their IP's, why not Rayman a far less divisive IP.

    Ah, right.

Cecilia's raven advantage seems very minimal for me unless Triangle Adept.

(I don't have access to any at the moment)

I can only use her once for tanking Takumi at the moment.

It's not very useful without triangle adept but with it she can even tank every relevant colorless and kill them back with Hone Calvary  (some variations that are very fast can survive round with her if she's -attack like mine is).  Even Klein only takes her down to half health max if her defense is unbuffed.

    Moving on:

So from what I gather, Rein counters are as follows:

    1. Generic counter being positioning/repositioning/dancer rushdown

This being the least safest option being that you are using up multiple resources to take down the Rein unless your team is rushdown just like a Rein team would be.

    2. Julia

    3. Female Reflet with Red buffs/Adept if Hone Cavalry Rein

Green Mage counters would be unable to bait unless a red is near or they're willing to tank a hit.

Cavalry Swordies are able to rush in on first or second player phase. While infantry need to wait for death to come unreasonably close. Armors just need to throw in the towel unless Hector or Sheema/Sheena with Distant Counter.

Anyone have any calcs for Sheema with distant counter? I remember her having ridiculous res when I faced her. Even red mages had trouble one shoting her.

TA 3 Raven Cecilia (don't know about Gronnblade build but I'm sure it does fine) and Nino (assuming she's not life-and-death) also destroy Reinhardt even on enemy phase while receiving only nominal damage -Res Nino will receive a lot more damage but will still survive I believe but I don't know for a fact I have a +Res Nino.

  10. 13 minutes ago, Anacybele said:

The difference is that literally three of Nino's lines have her saying "do my best" or something almost the same (like "I'll do my best!" I've not found any other character to say exactly the same thing so many times like that.

I can't say anything for Elise as I've never pulled her or used her.

Yet you're the only one that complains about this. No one else has a problem with my posts. Also, that's not even true. I don't even post in this thread every day. Just on some days. Now can you stop trying to derail the thread please?

Her other lines are sure and yes and only one of her 4 possible crit lines is I'll do my best or any variation of it. This is pretty consistent with all the other characters in the game for example when you click on Robin he says time to the scales and we does his special he says time to tip the scales. The game doubles up on lines a lot so the frequency definitely isn't the issue here, you're perfectly fine to find Nino's acting annoying I for sure have a couple characters that I find a voice acting for less than desirable (Florina's voice acting is horrible imo). Just clarifying that she actually doesn't spam that line much more than any other character spams their line.

  11. 1 hour ago, Anacybele said:

Ugh, why does Nino have to be a good unit? She's pretty annoying in this game. Constant lines about "DO MY BEST!" :/

Not sure why you find her much more annoying than any other character in this game considering they all spout the same line over and over and over again.  Personally I find most characters in this game equally annoying but I just deal with it.  Because what was once funny just becomes irritating one spouted 600 billion times.

Anyways I heard you like Elise I hope you never plan on using her because she says the same things (seriously people attribute this line to Nino but Elise says it just as much).

Also Nino is a good unit because she's awesome, personally I would've been using her even if she sucked...

  12. The Better question is which one of my 5* Heroes is not a ongoing project lol but I will show a couple of mine off.

Here is Nino the first one I ever got I raised it from a 3* +res -hp. I still want Fury and Possible Green Tome Breaker for her.

    Spoiler

    IMG_17931.png

Here is my +1 Lyn +Atk -Res, one my first 5* stars. If I ever get a Barte I will replace vantage with Brash Assault and requip Defiant Atk 3.

    Spoiler

    IMG_17911.png

Here is my Cecilia raised from a 4* (a little old she has more sp and hero feathers now) +spd -atk, Just needs Fury 3 (all ready has 2) and a spare Nino and Gronnblade Cecilia will live though Gronnraven Cecilia has worked well.

    Spoiler

    File_000_1.png

Here is current Xander some of his current skills are not really ideal but it is the best I could do for now. Fury/Death Blow, Red Tome Breaker, and Hone Cav (which he does have) is the planned build.

    Spoiler

    IMG_17961.png

Here two of my current 4* project Here is Olivia who is on the back burner until I can get Fury 3 and Ruby Sword + (she does have access to Wings of Mercy 3 just needs the sp to earn it). Hinata has been avoiding me like the plague.

    Spoiler

I've had unusually steep drops for no apparent reason. It just happens sometimes, there's no additional factors.

It was a first for me...

    1 hour ago, LuxSpes said:

Surrendering doesn't affect your placement in the tier. If it did, I would have seen it last season since I had to surrender several times to get my deathless streak. My ranking didn't plummet and an offense score of 4830 and a defense one of 582 secured me a rank up from tier 15 to 17. From my experience in tier 16 and 17, a mid 4.7k score is pretty middling. You need a score above 4.8k for the best chance at promoting.

You drastic drop could just means that a lot of people suddenly finished a good deathless run with new merged/bonus characters and got a high defense score.

I can see that and I definitely the scored a lot lower then I usually do (trying out a new team) I just found it strange that I dropped off so fast that day. But it's good thing to know there's no correlation, oh just so you know I get really high defense scores, so it's good there so that's not the problem... but yeah I shouldn't of jumped the gun with my accusations. Oh well Hopefully I'll be able to pull a better score soon lol.

  14. 24 minutes ago, Hawk King said:

What do you mean by this? Surrendering a fight simply gives you a loss. The same as having all of your units die. And all that does is end your current streak.

What do you mean it counts against your tier ranking?

Nope it seems your current total score isn't the only factor anymore (otherwise I cannot explain how my score tanked so hard in such a short amount of time I went from comfortably placing back in my same tier to near the bottom of 16 even with a score 4751 which was a near perfect run) it will lower your tier ranking if you completely lose a match.  If I can get a higher score this week I'll see if this is just a coincidence but I highly doubt it as the drop was really steep the day I did that. I'm used to my placement dropping throughout the week but never this hard this fast.

  15. Well I discovered today that purposeful losing (surrendering when I lose a unit as I need a perfect 7 streak to get a higher score) seems to count against my tier ranking....  so yeah I'll be dropping a rank because of this I was trying to get a higher score in low behold I find this out.   Oh well at least the feather drops are as bad as they used to be I will place back into my tier next time.

  16. Beat the maps on my first try with Team of Lyn, Sharena, Cecilia, Elise (mostly there just for Hone Calvary and some healing).  It's very straightforward Cecilia baits the archer then retreats and Lyn baits the Axe Wyvern. Sharena  murders Lloyd next turn, then Cecilia baits the blue mage and kills him.

  17. I would straight up would boycott the game. No questions asked but I don't care how cool looks I will boycott the game because I would not stand for the removal of an optional thing. This is like if Dark Souls decided that it would be a great idea to release an easy mode and then in the next game get rid of it's hard mode.

There are many people that enjoy classic mode they have literally zero reason remove it. This would be an action to straight up insult their classic fanbase, in fact there are people that are more used to other strategy games like XCOM (which features perma-death) that are now jumping in the Fire Emblem that prefer the permit death modes and higher difficulty removing things like this that are easy and cheap to implement would only lower their sells so they will never do this. I want to repeat this because it is very important they have literally NO financial incentive to remove classic mode they can only lose money.

In short if this is removed XCOM becomes my new FE and FE is dead to me.

Edit 2: Also I'm not one of those people that always just resets so you can't make that excuse I play semi Iron Man so yes it's removal would make a significant gameplay difference for me. i'm also the type of person that likes to play as efficiently as possible in the boundaries of the game, personal limitations aren't really that fun I hate having to do them and adding even more that I have to do is just an insult. And even if I'm doing a deathless run which I do sometimes having to make up consequences aren't actually real will never have the same effect as the consequences actually being real for me.

Edit:  @Harvey Also the only reason Heroes doesn't have perma-death is because you can pay real money for your characters of course there is no a perma-death in a game where I can buy units with real money and would have no way to get them back other than spending real money or by spending my limited free curreny and getting really lucky! Heroes is also spinoff game so worrying about heroes being a sign of things in future titles is like worrying that Mario Run is going to infect Mario games to make it so the auto jump is on from now on.

Except we have no playable bow cavaliers in the game.

And I know cavalry means a unit on horseback. But once again, I said cavalry KNIGHTS, not just cavalry. But by your logic, then I just mean cavaliers, and no mage cavalry.

Astrid actually holds the rank of knight though. Rath doesn't. I say when it comes to them, we go by whether they canonically hold a title of knight or equivalent.

Well yeah we have no playable ones YET!  In due time I think they will be added.

Just when you consider the fact that this game is bridging all FE games it's gets really complicated to classify some people in anything but the most general terms. Because much like @TheNiddo said Olwen and Reinhardt are a part of the cavalier line (I didn't actually know this so thanks for the information I never got much past the first couple chapters of 5). Finn Quan, Sigurd, and so much more have their own unique class lines that are similar to Cavaliers but are not part of that class line.  The only Bow cavalier in the entire series that could be included under these requirements is Astrid because all the others fall under a different class line. I get what you mean I just want you to understand how hugely complicated this can get when you try to add a qualifier this specific.

  19. 2 minutes ago, Anacybele said:

No, sorry. They're not cavalry knights. They're mages. Big difference.

Calvary literally means units on a horseback,  it has no distinction between physical and magic weaponry...  now if you were saying this is a Cavaliers gauntlet as in only people in the Cavalier class line you can do that but it gets hugely complicated when you also consider bow users (as they have moved in and out of that class line) and Judgral's varied horse classes. Making it so people like Astrid would be very hard to pin down whether they can be included in the gauntlet because it would be hypocritical to say that Rath can't be included but she can.
