- How did you get introduced? Smash Bros Melee was my first exposure to the brand like a lot of people. I played Advance War and liked so I ended picking up FE 7 and the rest is history.

- Have you played any other games which represent FE characters (Smash Bros, Project X Zone): Yes I have played and beaten Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE and Every Smash Bros game.
- What makes you like FE so much? To simplify a long answer I love genre of turn based strategy in general and especially FE's brand of strategy gameplay. I also love some the stories and characters in the various games.

How do you feel about western RPG's?
If you're okay with them here's a couple suggestions, The Witcher 3, Fallout 3 & New Vegas, and Mass Effect Trilogy.
If you're looking for something more the tactics genre There is XCOM 1 & 2 though I can't entirely recommend XCOM 2 on consoles load times are pretty long for a game as hard as it is...
For JRPGs I recommend Ni No Kuni (it's basically live action Pokémon it's pretty sweet), if you have a New 3DS there's Xenoblade Chronicles, if you only have the old one the two Dragon Quest 7 & 8 game remakes are good as well. There's Pokémon as well but I'm going to assume you wouldn't know it if you like that or not lol, though I do believe that Sun & Moon are far better than X & Y so if you were turned off by those it's improved IMO.

They seem to enjoy it and yet the score is underwhelming...
One thing people have to realize is that outlets aren't comprised of a single person (most of the time) different people review different games and in the case of this Gamespot review it's a different reviewer then the one that reviewed Conquest. The review is also a bit different for IGN because it's also not reviewed by the usual person who reviews them Jose who much better reviewer then Meagan IMO, also 7 is not a bad score it means good.
Anyways the reviews seem to be generally positive and the Metacritic is a high 83 which is not bad. Hopefully it's received well by the general populace, I want intelligent systems to feel comfortable with innovating the series and people showing support for a game that is different like this would go along ways to helping them do that.

Okey-dokey I switched out Kagero for Nino (Armor Blow 3, Desp 3, Hone Atk 3, Draconic Aura, Draw Back, Hp Bagde). I can also do Cecilia (TA 3, G Tome Break 3, Fort Cav, Draw Back, Draconic Aura, Spd Badge) or Hector (Distant Counter, Vant 3, Goad Armor, Pivot, Sacred Cowl, Hp Badge) if you would prefer them.

@Rezzy i'm on team Leo I sent you friend request was going to send it to you yesterday but I got lazy. Name is Locke, Kagero and sometimes Sharena is my lead.
It's on another topic it seems the constant boomeranging has finally stopped I haven't seen the three times bonus for Leo all day. Good thing I seized them up yesterday.

And yeah I figured many would be using Cavalry on Team Leo, since Hone Cavalry is a very good skill that directly supports him well. She also has Draw Back which pairs extremely well with Leo's personal tome, in the event that Leo hasn't taken a Tharja (as mine hasn't because I've not once pulled her).
Wraithfull Staff will soon be mine and all my enemies will tremble before my Hone Calvary Elise.Your Cecilia is actual remarkably close to mine for the same reason, abusing Draw back with Leo is just funny. I can put her up if you like but I figure most people would prefer a colorless leader due to their rarity.

Yeah mostly because my Leo is prepared for Horse Emblem so they synergize well. How's Kagero doing, I can replace her with Elise (Hone Calvary) or Jaffar (Poison Strike 3), If you like?

Looks like I'm actually pulling Colorless this banner Elise needs Wraithfull Staff so I can have her participate in Horse Emblem without guilt, she's already ready for it (her skills are Attack +3, Live to Serve(which will be replaced with Wraithfull Staff if I get it), Hone Calvary). Here's to hoping Genny goes down to 4* if I can't manage to pull her.

The interesting thing about the comeback mechanic is that it encourages you to only spend your flags when you're behind if you want the highest score so for now I'm playing the long game I'm waiting till were behind again to spend my flags if we don't fall behind I'll spend them near the end.
BTW i'm Team Leo if you need someone with a Colorless Leader (Kagero, I always put her as my leader during gauntlets as a public service) Friend Code is in my Sig.

As far as 5 star units go, I've got Michalis*, Raven, Priscilla, Nino*, Sanaki*, M. Robin (with Triangle Adept and Vantage)*, Chrom, Lucina*, Hector (with Wings of Mercy)*, Spring Lucina*, Spring Xander, Peri*, and Takumi. (I starred the units that have any SI.)
Next season I was thinking of running Nowi (she's only 4 stars...), Xander, Hector, and Takumi just to have a team that always counters. I'm sitting on 26k feathers right now...and those will probably go towards Xander.Assuming the units have the buff skills to synergize well with Nino I would recommend, either Lucina, M Robin, Hector, Bonus Unit (Anna I assume) or Sanaki, M Robin, Nino, Bonus Unit (Anna), ranged spam is never fun.
You can't effectively run spam with your set up blue and red spam requires dancers. If neither of these work try this Sanaki, Olivia, Nino, Bonus Unit(Anna).

What teams seem to be working for people defense-wise?Who do you have? Color spam of green is the worst one to do, most people run highly powerful red units and Green units that hit neutral very well. I could run circles around your team and I only field one red.
As for general advice, Vantage, Wings of Mercy, and Same type Breaker Skills in general can get you Defense wins. Dancers can also help though I've never needed one to get defense wins I currently have 8 or so and my team is Lyn, Sharena, Nino, Anna (all five star and heavily modified by inheritance).
Personally I find my Arena teams work as a great defense teams as well, as long as your team has good synergy usually that synergy applies to defense as well.

They don't encourage you to some of time... But they do let you use whatever you please, they just don't always reward you for doing so very well... FE 7, 8, 9,13, and 14 ( though Conquest will punish you hard for some of your choices) especially will let you use anyone at all and they will be mostly rewarding to use.
Sophia, Arden and so much more can be used even on the highest difficulty if you put your mind to it. Just doing so qualifies as a challenge run of sorts for some units, especially some units in FE 10-12 that qualify as active handicaps.

Pulling 5* Lyn, Jaffar, and Hector (though all my 5* pull have been Hype I think the only one I was actively disappointed by was M Corrin because he was and still is redundant when I have Marth and Lyn). My first double five star pull (Hector and Elise). My First Five Star (Marth). My First 4800 range score with 2500 feather rewards. I've got some pretty hype clinched arena wins against hard teams I don't really remember the specifics though.
The most hype for sure though and the only time you would've seen me freaking out is when I pulled Jaffar. He may not be all that useful with my Kagero around but he is the thing I wanted most out of this game I was really happy to pull him.

My Best Team at the Moment is
Lyn with TA 3, Vant 3, Spur Spd 3, Galeforce, and Rep Aid.
Sharena with Dart Blow 3, QR 2, Fort Def 3 (working on making this Hone Spd 3 for when I run Kagero), Escutcheon, and Rally Atk.
Nino with Res +3 (still waiting for Hintana), Desp 3, Hone Atk 3, Draw Back, and Draconic Aura.
Kagero with Ward Blow 3 (still waiting for Klein), Vant 3, Fort Def 3, Rally Res, and Luna.
Kagero is often replaced with a bonus character, like she was for Anna this Season. I do switch around my team a bit though.
I'm also pretty proud of my planned Xander composition for Xander upcoming arena (which I'll be upgrading him for when I have the feathers which I should have by next arena hopefully there's a voting gauntlet soon so I should have enough) which will be Xander, Cecelia, Hector, and Effie. I'll be simultaneously be playing Armor and Horse Emblem as I found out that full horse emblem dramatically lowers my scores especially when all of my 5* horses right now are mage/healer horses (Leo, Cecelia, and Elise)! Also running more than two Armors is just not fun.

If I buy any DLC at all and I haven't bought any DLC for the past two FE's (unless you count the other paths in Fates which I don't really) it just be pack 4 which sounds like actual substantial content. Definitely not the season pass since their is only one pack I'm actually interested in. Through with the large amount of games I am interested in this year there is a high likelihood I'll be skipping out on this DLC. Actually even considered that I'm mildly interested in this pack, I think it is far too expensive for what is it. Reminder that the Witcher 3 blood and wine expansion that is 30 hours of gameplay usually rolls around $25-30 (I think it's 25 but I don't remember the exact number). I will definitely be looking before buying especially if past FE DLC is anything to go by which has been very shallow every time (with the exception of the Paths of Fates which don't really count).
Edit: After doing some research it turns out that pack three is just a couple rooms with new classes not 10 new dungeons so yeah I'm not interested in that then. Only Pack 4 mildly interests me.

Okay that's fine just keep in mind Cecilia is often featured as a bonus unit because she is a "free unit". Also you don't need pure Cavs play Horse Emblem, 2 is the minimum and still works quite well.

I gave both a chance. Klein worked out great, Cecilia didn't. That's all. xP
Her brother is next wait till next arena to upgrade her when she's actually featured.
In the end it's your choice just keep in mind Cecilia and F Robin have near identical final stats spreads, the only real difference between them is Cecilia has the better tome and a Horse that helps her buff Freddy (you can get a free Gunter for Hone Calvary) like madness. Horse Emblem is a lot of Fun and makes the arena significantly easier, I really recommend it to you. But if remain unconvinced female robin can still benefit you and counter all those pesky blue tomes but not much else.

And right, I don't use glass cannons and don't want to because I'm no good with them. And yes, I want to make the Robins work well for me. I just need to figure out how. I've already got all the skills I want on male Robin, pretty much, though, so only female Robin needs some more attention.
But right. What I want is to find a way to make my current trained up units work well for me. I have Klein as my ranged attacker, and a few heavy hitters in Ike, Ephraim, and Frederick. And of course there's Marth and his dragon-slaying sword too. I've started leveling up Alm, though he's -Atk too, I'm afraid... Still, he might be able to afford it. Ephraim is also -Atk and I made him work. And then there are male Robin, female Robin, and Sharena as well. Sharena is next on my 5 star upgrade queue.
If I may make a suggestion I recommend upgrading your F Robin first as she will directly counter Reinhardt but will not do much against anything that doesn't have a Blue Tome because she entirely relies on Blue Tome breaker, she's nichely useful but if you're determined to user you can make it work. Sharena is a really good unit but is largely redundant when you already have Ephraim (upgrade her the following arena so you can use her as a bonus character).
I see that you're using Klein so I have no idea why you be against using Cecilia (they're from the same game) especially when she can synergize well with Freddy, you can make both even stronger. It would be a very good investment especially since you plan on running Freddy in the long term and I understand you really like Cavaliers in general when more Cavaliers come Cecilia will be even more beneficial to you because you can run full Horse Emblem. F Robin can be good but is very niche I feel that Cecilia would benefit you a lot more in the long term but if using her makes actively unhappy then go for F Robin.

Besides, I still never use her on any teams, so there's not even a point to this argument.
There's a major difference here I have used her in a successful deathless runs in the Arena and she's very useful. Triangle Adept makes a massive difference for her Anna. I used to think she sucked too, but then I put Triangle Adept on her and it was glorious. QR fixes her speed and Calvary Buffs makes it so she has a far higher potential then M Robin, so she is definitely the best natural raven tome user in my opinion.

Cecilia and Olwen (Ursula too but she's a GHB character therefore can't be pulled so she doesn't count) they're Mage Cavaliers but neither were in the mage gauntlet so they be fine to be included. Also having Cain, Abel, Stahl and Sully is also overkill on Christmas Cavs I prefer if it ended up Jagen/Cain, Eliwood, Fredrick, Reinhardt, Sully, Peri, Titania, and Cecilia.
As for a gauntlet I would like to see I think it be cool to have dagger gauntlet once the add a few more female theifs/maids with Jaffar, Sazio/Kaze, Gaius/Volke, Jakob, Kagero, Felicia, Patty, and Cath. Team Jaffar for life.
