  1. So here we are paralogue 2. Anna appears for the first time and we have all sorts of fun and games now. So why am I doing this chapter now? Well I have a couple that I want to make before we get Cordelia and I want to make absolutely certain that she will be ready for her husband when I get to him. That said this is going to be most interesting as to how I go about this chapter.

I guess I should open with what happens and I will. Here we go!

[spoiler=Story Notes]We open to what is a merchent talking to a solider who obviously tried to take on a group of bandits and was left worse for wear and the soldier dies on the spot. Chrom arrives and asks to know what is going on. We find out that there are bandits that are taking control over a road that is responsible for supplies to a local village. Chrom decides that we have to secure the supply line. So that we shall do. We are after all going to help as best we can!

    [spoiler=Tactician Notes]

So while we're waiting for the chapter to begin, we get introduced to Vicent and Victor who are talking about their profits (what else is new) and we see that Anna declares that the village is closed. And so Victor says that she'll fetch a lot of coin and net Vincent a fine home to which Anna replies that traders are known to cut more than prices.

    Turn 1:

Our attention is at once bought to the little village by the ever observant Frederick that we need to get there, and I have a plan that will not only get us there, but also help us save Anna, because she needs saving!

~Paired up Chrom with Chloey, Chrom lead

~Paired up Maribelle and Vaike with Maribelle lead

~Paired up Panne with Gaius with Gaius lead

~Paired up Lon'qu with Lissa leading

~Paired up Frederick with Sumia lead

    ~Moved Lissa/Lon'qu 4 squares up

    ~Moved Maribelle/Vaike 1 square up

    ~Moved Gaius/Panne 2 squres up and 2 squares right

~Moved Sumia/Frederick 2 squares to the right and took out the barbarian on the bridge

    ~Moved Chrom/Chloey 3 squares right

The archer went for Anna and the two bottom mages went for Sumia and the barbarians went for Gaius and Maribelle respectively. Anna went for the closest barbarian.

    Turn 2:

    ~Moved Lissa to heal Maribelle

~Moved Maribelle 1 square down to attack the barbarian and Vaike dual strikes for us

~Moved Gaius/Panne 3 squares to the left and 2 squares up to tackle the barbarian. Gaius makes short work of the barbarian

~Moved Chrom 2 square up, 4 squares to the right and a further square up

    ~Moved Sumia/Frederick 3 squares up

Again the enemy focus on Anna and the village with our archer friends going for Anna like no tomorrow. The sooner we reach her the better. That of course will fall to Chrom and Chloey to get to the village with Chrom getting to the archer class and Chloey getting probably to cleric before she hits the Pegasus Knight class or perhaps remaining a cleric, depending on how she goes for levels and or seals.

    Turn 3:

    ~Moved Chrom/Chloey 4 squares right and 2 squares up

~Moved Gaius/Panne 2 squares right to take out the archer and Panne dual strikes for me. Gaius gains a level and we may see a support conversation unlocked post chaper

    ~Moved Lissa/Lon'qu to heal Gaius

    ~Moved Maribelle/Vaike 3 squares to the right

~Moved Sumia/Frederick 4 squares up and 1 square to the left

An archer goes for Anna and does some damage and Chrom scores a critical hit. Of course we're going to have some fun with this...*sarcastic clapping*

    Turn 4:

~Moved Chrom Chloey 1 square right and 4 squares up to tackle the archer that keeps going after Anna. Likely we'll hit the village soon, if everything is going to plan

    ~Moved Maribelle/Vaike 1 square up and 4 squares right

    ~Moved Lissa/Lon'qu 1 square down and 6 squares right

    ~Moved Gaius/Panne 1 square down and 4 squares right

    ~Moved Sumia/Frederick 8 squares right

~Anna ends the barbarian that got too close to her

    Turn 5:

    ~Moved Chrom/Chloey 3 squares to the right

    ~Moved Lissa/Lon'qu 3 squares right and 4 sqaures up

    ~Moved Maribelle/Vaike 1 square right and 3 squares down

    ~Moved Gaius/Panne 4 squares down

    ~Moved Sumia/Frederick 3 squares left and 5 squares down

    Turn 6:

~Moved Chrom/Chloey up 3 squares to talk to Anna

    ~Moved Lissa/Lon'qu down 5 squares

~Moved Gaius left 1 square and down 1 square

    ~Moved Sumia/Frederick 3 squares left 2 squares down

    Turn 7:

~Moved Chrom/Chloey down 1 square and got a phsyic staff

    ~Moved Lissa/Lon'qu 4 squares left and 2 squares down

    ~Kept everyone in place

Gaius gets a kill count as barbarians go for him like no tomorrow. Maribelle is the next target of Victor and takes the 15 damage.

    Turn 8:

~Moved Chrom 3 squares down 2 squares left

    ~Used Lissa to heal Maribelle

~Moved Maribelle 1 square right and took out the archer that would have caused trouble. Vaike dual struck again...I may have another support unlocked :XD:

~Moved Gaius down 1 square to take out Victor. Gaius says "So long Sucker!" and makes the dual strike and ends the map...without a death I might add!! O.O And Gaius gains another level.

And Panne and Gaius are the heroes of the map. A map done without ANY deaths what so ever. I can pat myself on the back for completing what would be one of the most difficult maps for me to do.

Oh and we have happy merchants as well, so it is a win/win! And I unlocked supports like I thought I would :XD:

  2. Taguel yarne can still be a really fantastic DS booster support, so he doesn't actually end up that much different than he usually does - mainly he loses out on a brave weapon. I'm a pretty big fan of Virion!yarne myself.

I've been thinking about doing an awakening playthrough after I get through some more Fates where I optimize everyone into their default class tree/preference for unique models as promotes.

Well I am debating whether or not Gaius!Yarne will stay taguel (although I think I will depending). Also need help with Gregor!Severa please *blushes*.

  3. I am not entirely sure how I want to end Panne and Yarne. Sure I could go the taguel route for both (and they will still have trouble from beast killer lances regardless of class). I am think of them as more support units for their partners. I also haven't had much of a shot to see how to make use of the taguel yet.

I think I might have Yarne end as a Taguel now that I think about it. A shame that they're only meelee, but I suppose that it would be for the best. Other than that what would be a good ending class for him? I wonder if Gaius!Yarne is any good as a Swordmaster?

Also thinking of having Gregor!Severa ending as a Hero. Is axefaire a viable skill to give her once I get her?

  4. Sol's not bad for hedging your bets, especially while grinding, so if that fits your expected risks, go for it. Out of curiosity, what's your destination class for Yarne? Taguel, like how Nah was going Manakete, or something else? (As Czar_Yoshi was kind enough to explain to me, Taguels with a Beaststone+ have fair stats, almost identical to an Assassin, but the lack of Brave weapons *and* being melee-only hurts their potential severely.)

I am not entirely sure how I want to end Panne and Yarne. Sure I could go the taguel route for both (and they will still have trouble from beast killer lances regardless of class). I am think of them as more support units for their partners. I also haven't had much of a shot to see how to make use of the taguel yet.

  5. Actually, for Yarne it's less a matter of what he inherits from his father (who will never have anything truly special to offer) than from his mother: Yarne is one of the few children who fails to inherit a non-gender-exclusive class, getting Barbarian instead of Wyvern Rider. Since Gaius!Yarne doesn't get that class line, you'll want to pass down one of its skills; generally Lancebreaker is favored to deal with Beast Killers. (For a Yarne that spends most of his time in the back row, though, you could get away with Quick Burn, or maybe Deliverer if you really need the extra Mov.) Given that one of the factions in his recruitment chapter specifically *has* Beast Killers for their fight with the other faction, it's probably a really good idea to go with Lancebreaker, if you have any concerns about his survival--+50 Avoid is *huge.*

As for what Gaius can give him: Yarne starts in a dangerous position, so something that helps save his bacon can be really useful. Vantage is a possibility, but risky, so I wouldn't do that. I'd go for Lucky Seven, personally: it's a solid boost, you'll have it for more than long enough to get him to safety, and works for everyone, regardless of weapons or stats. Alternative possibilities: Astra (weapon-agnostic, offensive proc) or Sol (healing). But my money is still on Lucky Seven. If you go for the grand prize (fighting both merc groups), you'll want that extra safety net. Combined with Lancebreaker, you're looking at +70 Hit/Avo against lances for the first 7 turns--should be enough to keep him safe. :P

I think for Yarne Lancebreaker is a given, even without his paralogue. I guess it would be better if I gave him sol from Gaius because survivability does matter and health recovery could be mildly useful...that and I seem to have a thing where healers are over used...yeah self healing skills could be much needed :XD:

  6. Hey, I run my Avatar with Book of Naga and Mercurius, preserved by max Armsthrift. I find it fun to not look at the game as a compilation of mechanics, artwork and music and so on, but rather what it actually is, which is an experience for you to have an adventure and make friends. So coming up with backstories is something I like to do in my spare time.

That sounds quite similar to what I do. Caleb is one that I am working on in terms of a backstory and Chloey and Amelia are both characters for a fan-fiction too.

  7. I'll humour you with some of mine.

    Name: Chloey

    Build: Female 02

    Face: 04

    Hair: 02

    Hair Colour: 17

    Voice: Female 1

    Asset: Defense

    Flaw: Luck

Class: Currently tactician but will eventually reclass into Sorcerer

    Husband: Chrom

    ~

    Name: Caleb

    Build: Male 02

    Face: 01

    Hair: 05

    Hair colour: 17

    Voice: Male 1

    Asset: Magic

    Flaw: Strength

    Wife: Will be Lucina

Class: Will end as a sorcerer

    ~

    Name: Amelia
    Build: Female 2
    Face: 01
    Hair: 04
    Hair Colour: 17
    Asset: Magic
    Flaw: Strength
    Voice: Female 01
    Husband: None
Class: Will end as a Dark Flier
    ~
And those are ones that I will be working with. Both Amelia and Chloey are in my current playthrough so I am currently working on them. Of course I haven't even gotten to them to their final classes yet so it will be a lot of work.
  8. I don't think I was looking for optimization (as these pairings I've stuck with in most of my runs.) I think what I was looking for was a standard rating based on the pairings themselves. Granted, your stuff would be helpful for my brother who definitely tried to do this, but these pairings I wanted rated (based on the actual support dialogue and children interactions).

I personally HATE Chrom x Robin mainly because of their support with each other being disturbing to read and very unfunny. I felt any other pairing was more organic than this pairing, even Lissa X Lon'qu which I am pretty sure nobody I know liked outside of me and my boyfriend.

Though in runs where I wasn't trying to ship myself with Virion, I shipped him with Nowi and Lissa, so I guess this helped me pair Frederick and Lon'qu in some sort of fashion in the run where I'm going to marry Yen'fay. (I think I paired Frederick with Maribelle in the run where I married Tiki).

And I didn't mention that Chrom x F!Robin has the worst supports of the game? Chrom and Morgan's parent support are good and Lucina's supports with Robin (as her mother) are lovely. For hell sakes I hate Chrom x Sumia. Like really hate it. But I won't judge you on it.

  9. I have been trying to make a pairing chart which would sum up what pairings I had more easily... Aw well, here goes.

Chrom x Sumia (Lucina and Cynthia)

    F!Avatar x Virion (Morgan)

    Lissa x Lon'qu (Owain)

    Frederick x Nowi (Nah)

    Sully x Stahl (Kjelle)

    Kellam x Miriel (Laurent)

    Maribelle x Gaius (Brady)

    Ricken x Panne (Yarne)

    Gregor x Cordelia (Severa)

    Cherche x Henry (Gerome)

    Olivia x Donnel (Inigo)

    Tharja x Libra (Noire)

    Lucina x Brady

    Laurent x Cynthia

    Nah x Yarne

    Kjelle x Owain

    Inigo x Noire

    Severa x Gerome

Morgan gets no love because of memory-loss

Well I have a couple of suggestions if you're looking for optimization as well as fastest support building units, I hope this is helpful because I am compling everything I have learned both by playing the game and what others have suggested. Below is the pairings that I think work better or just have personal experience with.

    ~Tharja x Gaius:

This is the pairing if you want Galeforce of Noire. Your best bet would be to hand down a male exclusive skill to Noire as she won't be able to get them any other way (unless you use hacking, but then that's not fun). Another option would be Henry, however he doesn't give galeforce and there are some classes that over lap, Henry does give troubadour as a reclass option and can hand down a male exclusive skill like Gaius, so he is a viaible option as well. I belive that Libra is better placed elsewhere

    ~Sumia x Frederick:

While Chrom is alright as a father for Cynthia, Frederick gives her more stat mods over all. Most of the differences is who gives what classes and stats. Frederick give more skill while Chrom gives speed. Chrom gives you the archer classline while Frederick gives you the wyvern class line, so really it depends on what you need from Cynthia. I prefere a Cynthia that has strength and defence. Alternatively you could go for Henry. He's a more magical set up, but he's the only mage that Sumia can marry if you're doing a magical build Dark Flier Cynthia

    ~Cordelia x Virion:

With Virion as Severa's father she gains speed as well as the archer classline, and while Gregor is a good father who hands down a male exclusive skill, Virion gives bowfaire which could make Severa a decent bowknight if that is what you want for her. That said other fathers include Lon'qu (although you've given him to Lissa, which makes a good Owain), Ricken (magical Severa). I have heard praises for Virion!Severa, but Gregor!Severa is as close as you can get to cannon hair colour

    ~Nowi x Gregor:

If you want to build up support quickly, then Gregor is the best man for the job. Nowi and Gregor both grow relatively quickly in their supports and are the easiest to marry with minimal grinding required. Plus Gregor can hand down male exclusive skills.

    ~Sully x Donnel:

Used most to give Kjelle galeforce because she can cope with Donnel's horrific stat mods. Another more viable option is Gaius x Sully, but really Noire wants Gaius for galeforce and not Donnel. Stahl is alright though because I have used Stahl!Kjelle, but Gaius and Donnel are the better fathers here if you want Kjelle to be a little more mobile.

    ~Maribelle x Libra:

I've heard of this pairing and while I haven't used it, I can sort of see why it's used. It gives Brady his cannon hair colour and might give some more magical mods. However I would prefer using Vaike as Brady's father, mostly because of a headcannon of my own, but I won't go into detail because it's a little far fetched.

    ~Miriel x Ricken:

For the love of all that is holy do not use Kellam! He is the worst father for Laurent. I have seen this a whole lot and I will hasten now to add my own two cents. Since I have used Ricken!Laurent, here are a couple of things that I will say. Firstly Ricken!Laurent gets a +6 magic modifier over Kellam!Laurent's +4. Meaning Ricken!Luarent is better at magic and could make a great Sage even without tomefaire. That and I have some more head cannons but I'm not going to mention them, they're not worth getting into.

    ~Chrom x Robin:

This pairing is without a doubt the best pairing for Chrom. Not only does he benefit, but Lucina gets a good deal out of this pairing. She can get Veteran allowing her to grow quicker, Ignus as an alternate or added proc with Aether. The other advantage is that Lucina gets all of her gender permitting classes instead of a limited few. I believe the words game breaking apply here because Robin is Chrom's best match despite the less than stellar supports. Of course you could go with Chrom x Olivia if you can keep Robin away from Chrom and stop them from gaining support levels (nice and difficult). However Lucina won't gain anything worthwhile from Olivia that she can get from Robin so I wouldn't suggest it. Unless you can get Olivia to get galeforce really early on (a lot of DLC grinding which you might not want to do), then alright she might work, but I don't like the modifiers Lucina gets from Olivia.

~Stahl x Panne or Frederick x Panne would make for a better Yarne
~Olivia x Libra is good if you want a magical Inigo off the top of my head
And that is all I have for so far...I'll have to think on it more.
  10. Drawing comes from practice and hard work - it's not something that you need to wish for :>

You have the power to accomplish and achieve great things with drawing - you just have to set your mind to it!

Just as Bob Ross once said, "Talent is a pursued interest. Anything you're willing to practice, you can do."

Don't give up! You should be very proud of where you are because the drawings you've ever made, can only be accomplished by you and no one else, and that's something to be proud of :>

*blushes* You my friend are too kind! :XD:

I'd be surprised if you didn't win (unless Origami Grima wins)

Or the model version with the feathers. That was one was very good (and the Origami Grima) still though I like the one Carefreejules did because it has nearly all of the main FIre Emblem characters :XD: and I am partial to illistrations and drawings :D:

  11. I swore that I wouldn't do something like this; however there were some things that I felt like sharing as I kind of enjoyed doing them and thought that others might enjoy viewing them :P:.

I can do commissions; art trades are for friends and requests are sort of open because I am not super busy.

This will be my art thread where I will share art and other work that I have done (and have fun seeing my practice pay off a bit more) I am currently not actually doing anything major so I figured I'd open such a thread to keep me doing art as well as for a bit of fun and maybe making some new friends in the process. I will be adding to this thread as I go so it is very much a work in progress!

    [spoiler=Commissions]

If you would like a commisson the best place to request them is on deviantART. Here is a journal entry with my prices if anyone is interested: http://thesilentchloey.deviantart.com/journal/Another-Year-Passes-567390634
It is my most up to date version of commission prices notes are the best way on dA to request a commission, if of course you're on dA...

    [spoiler=Requests]

I'm open to requests, as long as they are resonable and I have enough details to go on :D: the same rules apply as what I'll do for commissions but I'll hash them out here so you don't have to spend hours looking for them (just kidding they're easily found, but it's nice to put them up anyway):

    ~No overly mature content please

~OCs are ok as long as I have enough details to go on

~I'll do my best to get things done in a timely mannor, it can and often does take 4 or so weeks for me to do any ark related stuff (properly depending on digital or traditional) if I take longer please don't be afraid that I'm leaving you hanging, I will make sure to keep you up to date if I am falling behind scheduel

    [spoiler=Art Trades]

So long as the other half of the trade is done I am happy to do art trades, and with friends too :XD:

    [spoiler=Artwork Examples]

So this is what I have so far. I will be adding to it as often as I can depending on how well I go. I hope you all enjoy

    ~TSC

  12. It sounds like you've already got Tharja married (to a non-GF-providing father), so it sorta depends on whether Kjelle will or won't get GF. If Sully isn't already paired (or betrothed in your headcanon :P), Donnel!Kjelle may be the better choice. He gives Kjelle a slightly better selection of classes (Troubadour, Merc, and Pegasus, as opposed to Thief/Peg that Gaius would give), and none of their male-only inheritance skills is especially compelling for Kjelle. Aptitude is the best from Donnel, and Donnel!Kjelle can learn Sol/Axebreaker on her own (instead of inheriting one like she'd need to from Gaius). And if you do go Donnel!Kjelle, there's always the possibility of Gaius!Nah, which offers many of the benefits of Gregor!Nah while also providing Galeforce, while doing something to offset the Manakete's low Spd (it's only a difference of +3, but given that that's nearly a 10% increase, you take what you can get!)

The one really solid thing to be said in favor of Donnel!Nah is that the "special classes" (e.g. Manakete and Taguel) count as un-promoted but have the stat caps of promoted units, so Underdog becomes plausibly viable as a skill once you're facing exclusively promoted units. Even a max-level special class gets the bonus for promoted enemies of level 11 or higher (and you'd Second Seal to reset her level at that point anyway). Although Underdog isn't as big a bonus as Lucky Seven, it has no time limit, so it's better than Quick Burn if you can have it activate consistently. Unfortunately, this comes at the cost of removing the one offensive proc that Gregor!Nah and Gaius!Nah possess, Astra (well, and Lethality too, but it hardly counts), meaning Donnel!Nah@Manakete is even more relegated to a pure-support role than she was before and, thus, sort of a waste of GF. That is, Donnel!Nah@Manakete can't get Brave weapons, will struggle to double enemies, and gets neither offensive procs nor a Faire to boost damage, so killing enemies is far less guaranteed--which means GF may not even activate.

So if Gaius is available, he's probably the better choice to get GF on Nah, and Donnel is pretty clearly better for Kjelle, if none of them are married yet. I also find the Donnel/Sully supports rather endearing; the two are cut from similar cloth, and Sully's belief that she should earn her knighthood rather than receiving it meshes well with the Donnel/Sully epilogue (she becomes, more or less, the Knight of the Farfort, while remaining close to the people of 'her land.') That's neither here nor there in terms of optimization, of course, but since much of this is 'for fun' it's worth considering.

Understood. Sniper fulfills a similar role, then, so it's more a question of whether you already have *enough* Mire users on your team. Having a unit that can chip away at low-Def units the way Mire Sorcerers chip away at low-Res units can be useful.

I remember finding his paralogue an unexpected challenge, though TBF it was also one of the first I completed on my most recent file (because the shop there sells Second Seals and I had nearly run out). Good luck!

I haven't even gotten to Tharja at all yet, I don't even have Nowi and Gregor but I was leaning towards Henry!Noire because their supports were both entertaining and the ending is actually very nice. :D: Also Sully's already hitched but I'll certainly keep Donnel in mind next time I do a playthrough. I guess that it will leave out Severa and Yarne again because their mothers are always hard to pair up. I think I'll do Gregor!Severa and Gaius!Yarne and Donnel!Nah (for a bride/manakete build) at least for this run maybe. Afterall those are pairings that I can change up so for now they'll work...at least I'm hoping so!

Which is why I'll have Virion as the resident Sniper (as well as whoever else fits that role) that said I'll probably have lots of fun with the team this time though :XD:

Yeah I hope that Inigo's side story isn't too hard. I just have to make sure that I have Olivia get Galeforce and we're grouse :D:

  13. Chapter 6:

So before I started Chapter 6 I did something that I forgot to do in chapter 5. That's right, it's time for the S-Supports :XD: considering that I have finally gotten to them, it's going to be a lot of fun especially since this is some of my favourite conversations that I have had unlocked before chapter 5. Of course there are probably people that will say that my pairs don't work, but in the end I guess that is to be expected from those that are playing more competively than I do. That said this is a re-run of an accidently deleted run that was never meant for apo, so there is that to consider. Pairings are being chosen based on their supports (except Chrom and Chloey as we all know because I will repeat that C-A is just terrible and should have been like M!Robin's, then it would have made more sense :/) as well as intial pairings that I have had. This is because I have found what works for me and I kind of like it that way. Of course there will be a run that would feature a what could have been but we'll leave that for another day. (I have gotten a couple of DLC packs that I will be playing later for obvious reasons *cough limitbreaker cough* *cough bride cough* *cough dread fighter cough*. Now for a more formal introduction of the Tactician we met back in chapter 5 because reasons :XD:

    amelia_by_thesilentchloey-d9siakj.png

    Name: Amelia

    Stat Flaw: Strength

    Build: Female 2

So now that we have her introduced we can go on with the story for Chapter 6.

    [spoiler=Chapter 6 Foreseer Story Notes]

    chpt_6_01_by_thesilentchloey-d9ssseb.jpg

So we open to what must be late at night because Chrom is out in the darkness and by the looks of his face he is clearly duelling with unplesant thoughts. Poor guy, I know that isn't fun at all. Still it makes sense that Chrom would be the one lost in thought. After all Gangrel did start a war with Ylisse for what was obvious reasons to him. Of course for some reason it seems that Chloey is also up. How is not the issue. I can never work out why the avatar is up as late as it is, but then again I never really tried to think of a reason why he/she would be. All I know is that Robin (or in our case Chloey) turns up when the game calls for it. Then we get some exposition about Plegia and Ylisse being at war with one another. Of course Chrom paints his father's actions as potentially wrong, which in most lights it is, however there is one thing that a ot of people have agreed on (and I don't mean in game) is that there are a few theories out there to explain WHY Chrom's father made war on Plegia in the first place. All Chrom tells us is that his father died when Emmeryn was 10. And thinking about how Emmeryn treated others after the rough treatment and simply gave a peaceful response...I'll admit it seems a bit surprising, but with that sort of nature it makes sense. Too bad then that Gangrel wants her dead. Interesting that Chrom litterally takes the words out of my mouth with regards to Emm. Of course as Chrom and Chloey are talking about Emm we have a familiar face who appears. And what do you know, it's our good friend Marth. Who has somehow managed to get into the palace unseen by the guards and Frederick.

    chpt_6_06_by_thesilentchloey-d9sssr8.jpg

Add to that Chloey doesn't seem too surprised, and neither does Chrom. Marth as we find out is one of the most polite characters that I have encountered so far...if evesdropping isn't considered rude. Of course it is at this time that Chrom asks the fair question of how Marth got into the palace grounds and Math reveals that "he" got in through the cleft in the castle walls behind the maple grove. Of course Chrom doesn't know HOW Marth used that spot because he thought that it was hidden to which Marth states thhat said secret is safe with him and that he came to warn Chrom. Of course Chrom is a little bit dense, but then given how vague Marth was/is being you really can't blame him. Although this is the point where Marth is actually being crystal clear. Emmeryn's life is genuinely in danger. Although Chrom is certain that she's safe because she's kept under guard all the time. To which Marth asks a question. A very valid question. Marth suggests that "he" had seen the future. Of course Chrom isn't so certain, and Marth expected it. So then Marth exposes the assassin trying to kill Chrom. And we find out

that Marth is actually a woman. Well she had me fooled the first time around I can tell you! However when you listen carefully and look a little closer you begin to notice that all is not as it first appears.

    [spoiler=Tactical Notes]

So with all of that action, we now move onto the battle field. This is the chapter for fun and games. Doubtless I will need Lissa AND Maribelle in equal measure to help the team on this map. Since Chloey is not being magical, I'll have to have her and Chrom working on the left of the map. Trust me to forget about those that we need. The next map will feature Chrom snowballing the map because I want him to give Lucina the best stats possible (as well as giving him and Chloey second seal priority at the moment at least until I recuit Lucina and can get a chapter with infinate second seals with my only limit being gold). So now we move onto my preparations.

    Units deployed:

    ~Chrom

    ~Chloey

    ~Amelia

    ~Lissa

    ~Lon'qu

    ~Miriel

    ~Maribelle

    ~Ricken

    ~Vaike

    ~Donnel

    Turn 1:

We interrupt your regular program with a short bout of story. Validar demands that he wants the Fire Emblem and Emmeryn dead. Of course we soon find out that a thief in the group is none to happy about this development and for the most part only wants to line his pockets with gold, not kill anybody. Chrom and Emmeryn have a brief conversation where he tells his sister to stay where it's safe. Of course we know that if I pull this off without a hitch, Emmeryn will be completely unharmed. Which means that the ssassins must be taken down before they get to Emmeryn as Chloey so stellarly points out.

Validar grumbles that two assassins were not enough to even wound Chrom, not even knowing that Marth had warned us earlier, so we were well aware of what was going on. This is about the point that Validar realises that something is actually wrong, there are "actors" that do not belong on the stage. After which Chloey is highlighted and Validar states that fate is truly piling the gifts at his feet, after what he calls years of searching. Now I wonder why that would be? Oh well I guess that it isn't that important at all. What is important is the fact that Marth's falchion is glowing. Chrom asks her what is wrong and Marth says it's not for him to worry about. Chrom says that it seems that nothing is with Marth and Marth apologises.

Chrom suggests that Marth stays put near the door while the rest of the shepherds handle the assassins. Emmeryn insists that we flee while we still can as she doesn't want our lives against hers. However that is not the plan.

~Moved Lon'qu 3 squares down, 2 squares right. Killed the fighter

~Moved Amelia 1 square right and 4 squares down

~Moved Lissa 2 squares down and 2 squares right

    ~Moved Chloey 3 squares down

    ~Moved Vaike 3 squares down

    ~Moved Donny 4 squares down

~Pair up Ricken and Miriel with Ricken leading moved Ricken down

~Moved Maribelle 4 squares down 1 square right

    Enemy Phase:

~Fighter went for Chloey and Chrom dual guarded and dual struck. He must really love his new waifu

~A thief went for Vaike thinking that he was weak, Vaike one shot him taking minor damage in the process

~Fighter goes for Vaike and while he took some damage, Vaike gains a level

~Fighter goes for Vaike and misses, Vaike kills fighter

~A thief goes for Lon'qu and Lon'qu one shots it (which he could have done without Amelia) Lon'qu gains a level

~A dark mage goes for Vaike and while Vaike gets hurt but kills the mage all the same

    Turn 2:

We cut your regular tactical notations to bring you more story. A stranger arrives and Chrom wonders if this stranger is an enemy, to which Marth tells us Panne is not. So we have another helper on this map!! Of course Chrom and Frederick have to have their discussion about Panne, but they treat her fairly because Marth has proven that she means no harm and despite hiding her gender Chrom is willing to trust her. Of course we now return to the tactical notes

~Paired up Chloey with Chrom in the lead, moved Chrom to talk to Gaius and kill the dark mage. And this is the point where I bring up Gauis' recruitment conversation. Of course he wants gold, but the way he says "sugar" is just too much as well as the change of music. Ok we get it, Gaius loves his sugar. Also Chrom gives us his second critical hit, "Now I'm angry!"

    chpt_6_11_by_thesilentchloey-d9sst10.jpg

~Healed Vaike with the easily placed Maribelle

~Moved Lon'qu 1 square to the right to take out a fighter and create a solid block

    ~Moved Lissa to heal Lon'qu

    ~Moved Ricken/Miriel 4 squares down (support grinding)

~Moved Gaius to safety 5 squares to the right

~Moved Panne towards Emmeryn 2 squares down and 1 square right

    ~Moved Amelia 1 square right

    ~Moved Donny 1 square down

    Enemy Phase:

~Dark Mage went for Chrom and missed and Chrom dual struck and we got a wind tome.

~Dark Mage went for Lon'qu and misses

~Thief goes for Lon'qu does 3 damage and easily gets 1HKO

~Fighter goes for Lon'qu and misses and Lon'qu asks "How well will you die?!" and gets a critical hit (one of his many I might add)

    chpt_6_14_by_thesilentchloey-d9ssu0i.jpg

~Cavalier goes for Vaike and does minor damage, Vaike kills the Cavalier with ease, which means that we get an iron lance

~Second Cavalier went for Vaike, missed and was killed

    Turn 3:

~ Moved Gaius 1 square right, 2 squares up and 2 squares right

~Moved Ricken/Miriel 1 square left and 1 square down and took out the dark mage hovering down the bottom of the map

~Moved Donnel 1 square down and 1 to the left

    ~Used Lissa to heal Lon'qu

~Moved Amelia 3 squares down to take out that most annoying of dark mages, even though she left the mage with 2 health

~Moved Chrom down 3 squares and put the wind tome in the convoy and let Chrom attack the cavalier Chrom gained a level

    Enemy Phase

~Dark mage went for Chrom and Chrom took minor damage

~The fighter went for Ricken and Ricken took the hardest hit in all of his chapters so far (ouch)

~Dark mage went for Lon'qu again

    Turn 4:

    ~Moved Maribelle to heal Ricken

~Moved Gaius to get the chest that was on the map

~Moved Ricken/Miriel 1 square up and 1 square to the left

    ~Paired up Vaike with Maribelle

~Switched Chrom for Chloey to lead and had Chloey attack the dark mage that was trying to hurt Chrom and Chrom dual strike Chloey gains a level up:

    +1 HP

    +1 Str

    +1 Skill

    +1 Lck

    Enemy Phase:

~Thief attacks Ricken and Ricken kills him

~Dark Mage goes for Ricken and Ricken gains a level

~Fighter goes for Chloey and Chloey kills him with a dual strike

    Turn 5:

    ~Moved Gaius 1 square down 2 left

    ~Moved Chloey/Chrom down 6 squares

~Moved all of the shepherds to surround Validar

    Enemy Phase:

~Validar goes for Chloey/Chrom and claims that he knows her and says that if she lets him win, he'll honour her with the truth...although I don't think he will. Chloey takes 13 damage and Chrom dual strikes to kill. Validar claims that this is all wrong and wonders how we could have known his plan. And Chloey gains another level up, catching up to Chrom.

    [spoiler=Post Chapter Notes]

So with that we have what is the end of chapter 6 with Chrom and Chloey as the heroes of the chapter. Most though it was Chrom and not really Chloey, although she supported him. I have a few comments to make about this chapter and I guess that this all will compile here. So we realise that Emmeryn is perfectly safe and sound, which is a relief. Chrom of course ends up being thanked by his sister, who if the plan to assassinate her had worked would have been dead. Pretty hard to think about that, and of course Phila has to beg for forgiveness because she failed to once again actually protect her Exalt. I get that she was skilled during peace, but to have the captain of your pegasus knights look so incompetent at her duty would make me want to change things up a lot, like for example firing said commander and getting a new one. This is also the second time that Phila feels guilty that her job hasn't been done properly, so what gives. Chrom is however kind towards the woman and tells her that she could not have known what was to come. Emmeryn stalls a little on the mention of "Marth" the lovely lady that had helped us and has since dissappeared after Emmeryn was saved. Chrom asks Chloey if she's seen Marth and Chloey notes that Marth was there a second ago. Chrom races off to find Marth leaving behind Chloey to talk with Emmeryn to Panne, the taguel who bravely helped take out the assassins :P: and I say this very much sarcastically. However Panne will be joining us in other chapters and I'll be certain to grow her out as best I can, as well as the other shepherds once I get to second seal madness.

And even as we have the fun of celebrating our first real victory it seems that Grima is very much what I like to call a sore loser. Right to the point of childish and downright wasteful. Of course I have to point out that Grima's voice is litterally one of the most creepy voices I have ever heard. I really don't like it and even so it still gives me the chills hearing it.

After all of that we finally come to the most important part of the story, what happens next. Phila says that it's going to take a while to work out how the assassination plot got as far as it did *cough* insider with knowledge of Emmeryn's daily rituals*cough*. Most likely it was someone who was supposed to be on the side of Ylisse but turn coated (I kind of thought that in the beginning when I first played the game). Of course there are no real leads, but Chrom suggests that it was Plegia, which might be a case. Either way Chrom is convinced that Emmeryn is not safe where she is, so he thinks it best that she comes with the shepherds to Regna Ferox. Emmeryn points out that the people would be undefended with the war that is now at Ylisse's borders. Emmeryn wants to stay with the people and Chrom is concerned that something will happen to Emmeryn. Frederick suggests that Emmeryn relocates to the Eastern Palace for the time being. Chrom agrees to the plan wanting to keep Emmeryn out of harms way. He suggests that the shepherds escort her to the palace. And we cut to the end of the chapter

This is starting to look like my longest ever playthrough, although given that my first playthrough took two years to get past Marth, I'd say I'm doing great for time this go :D: I still apologise if it is a little long winded between chapters though.

So now onto Chapter 7 and the continued snowballing of Chrom and Chloey :P:

  14. It's a bigger loss dropping from Sage to Sorc than it is dropping from Ricken to Henry/Libra, for comparison.

I'm fond of passing Lancefaire as a second female-only skill myself. It's something he might feasibly end up using.

That would be if they are using Owain for galeforce. Personally I think Owain is alright, but you'd have to have Chrom married before his bond with Robin makes him marry her by default. That would be quite hard unless you're really pushing for Chrom to marry someone else as soon as they appear. I thought that dual support + was the more important skill to have, though lancefaire is an idea that I'd never thought of O.O

  15. I forgot about that. Between Henry/Libra or Ricken for Owain, who would give him and Morgan the larger benefits? Would not having Ricken reduce Owain's magic by a lot or is going for Sorcerer not going to hurt his magic stat that much? What should Owain inherit from those 3?

Trying to figure out the best route for my Avatar. Would something like Tactician (10) --> Mage (10) --> Sage (15) --> Valkyrie (15) --> GK (10) --> Sage work? Getting Luna feels awkward and getting all those levels seems like a long process.

    Probably going with Dark Knight.

I did a quick spot of research and Henry and Libra give Owain one less point than Ricken does over all (so Morgan would get a +8 mag instead of Ricken's +9). Probably won't matter that much since you're going to have to do a lot of support grinding to get Owain!Morgan, especially if you use Libra or Henry. Not just to get Owain but to get Morgan as well.

"Best" class route for your Robin might be as follows:

~Get your Robin to lvl 10 Tactician

    ~Second seal Cavalier (lvl 10)

    ~Second seal Mage (lvl 10)

    ~Second seal Cleric (lvl 10)

~Second seal Pegasus Knight (lvl 10)

~Master seal Dark Flier (lvl 15 for Galeforce)

~Second seal Grandmaster (lvl 10 so you get ignus)

~Second seal Valkyrie or if you want renewal, War Cleric (lvl 15) (alternatively you could just add War Cleric to the list)

~Second seal Great Knight (lvl 10)

~Final second seal Sage (lvl 20)

At least that is how I would go about it, not saying that it is the only way to work with Robin, but it does require careful planning to pull it off. Also as far as I can tell Robin really, really wants galeforce, which is why I go to the effort of getting the skill, not just for Morgan.

You might want Morgan to have Ignus as well, as it adds his str/mag to mag/str, which could come in handy later on in the game :D:

  16. So Luna+Ignis? I guess that works. I have no DLC, so sadly no skills from there. I will keep Magic +2 and Tomefaire, but why Dual Support+? It's female exclusive but does it have such a big impact?

Would Ricken!Owain make a good Sorcerer? I mostly thought about it because Owain being a Dark Mage in Fates.

How would Morgan look, besides Galeforce and Fe!MU's skill? Since I like variety, would Dark Knight work well, or Grandmaster?

If Ricken is Owain's father he doesn't have access to the Dark Mage class line, if you want a sorcerer Owain in FE:A you would need either Henry, Libra or Male Robin. No other fathers give him that class.

Dual Support + increases your support bonuses that you gain from pair up, especially if you can't support someone

I believe that Dark knight is better if you want more movement, or you could go purely magical because that is going to be Morgan's best stat i.e Sage/Sorcerer because Male Morgan doesn't get Dark Flier...

  17. In that case, the usual go-to inheritance skill (Axefaire) won't be useful. Your main alternatives: Despoil (gold farming), Counter (minimal use), Wrath (risky like Vantage), or Rally Strength (only useful if you make her a Rally unit). So what would help you most? I'd probably go Despoil (slowly beginning to love that skill) or Wrath; Gregor!Nah can't get Vengeance, which is disappointing, but Wrath+Vantage might work out alright. If you really want a Rally unit, though, and aren't interested in one of the alternatives from SpotPass, Nah might work, since few of the skills she can get will improve her offense much as a Manakete.

For more general skills, simple procs and always-on benefits are the best bet. In addition to the skills mentioned above: Dual Support+, Quick Burn, Deliverer, Swordbreaker (to deal with Wyrmslayers), Astra (her only offensive proc besides Lethality), Armsthrift. Maybe a second Breaker if you're real worried. Pretty much everything else is either inefficient, weapon-specific, or unreliable (e.g. Lethality).

It looks like Noire's stats aren't dramatically different between being Henry's daughter and Gaius', mostly just switching from +5 Mag/+2 Spd (Henry) to +3 Mag/+4 Spd (Gaius). [Edit: just using Gaius for comparison since he's usually picked so she gets GF; the pertinent differences between them really just boil down to classes provided and 2 more Mag vs. 2 more Spd.) It probably won't make a lot of difference which direction you go with her. Henry!Noire@Sniper still hits 50 Skl (just like Gaius!Noire would), which is pretty good. Sadly, Henry!Noire won't get Tomefaire, though she can get Vengeance+Wrath which could make Sorcerer (Nos-tank) an interesting path to take. I honestly don't know enough to speak to Sniper being better than a magic unit (though, if you can live without the Nos-tanking/Mire shenanigans, Valkyrie is nice.)

Libra!Inigo should almost certainly inherit Renewal for least overall grinding--you're basically guaranteed to get it on Libra, and it's the only really worthwhile skill in Priest or War Monk (excluding Sage, for hopefully obvious reasons). You won't need to grind Libra to get it, and it'll save Inigo a slog through an otherwise not-so-great class. (Obv. he should get GF from Olivia.) If you're concerned about losing him in the recruitment chapter, Renewal is probably your best bet simply because you're almost guaranteed to have it and it works every turn. Alternatively, if you aren't concerned about healing (which, TBH, you probably shouldn't be too worried about it), Vengeance isn't a bad choice, to speed up acquisition of the full VVW triad, and you can just ignore Priest/War Monk entirely.

I haven't really decided Nah's role in the amry yet and could just as easily switch out for Donnel (for galeforce/underdog) though I am not so sure.

One of the things I love about the dark mage class is Mire shenanigans, which is why I plan to use it as Robin's finishing class, it's a whole lot easier to chip away at the enemy from a distance to allow the weaker units an easier time in killing said enemies.

Sounds like a plan for Inigo then, that will make my life easier for his paralogue that's for sure (also because someone wants to play hero :P:)

  18. I have a couple of questions for my +def -lck run (which I am posting progress as I make it) and was wondering what skills would suit Gregor!Nah if I want to keep her a manakete. I know that is not the best class for her, but I wanted to keep everyone in their base class promotions (Save F!Robin, Lucina and M!Morgan because I want to play with my head cannon a little bit :XD:).

Of course I will be putting everyone through their reclass options because I can do grinding to get needed skills. Also would like to know what suits Noire!Henry that will allow her to make use of her magic or will she be better off as a physical sniper unit?

Aside from those two I am thinking of working with Libra!Inigo, so what should Libra hand down to save the grinding time on Inigo?

  19. If we're going batte quotes (and not critical)

Robin's dual guard "Predictable" and "back off!"

Chrom's dual guard "Hold on I'm coming!" and "Think again!"

Lucina's dual guard "I'll keep you safe!" and "Get back!"

Robin's dual strike, "Over here!" and "Wrong move!"

Chrom's dual strike "We're not done yet!" and "Have another!"

Lucina's dual strike "Foget about me?" (really love how she says that :D:)

And I have a few more but I'll leave you with these because I am 100% certain that there will be more :XD:

  20. Gangrel and Walhart are all I have, sorry.

I guess that might be because they were the only ones that we have so far :XD: still good to see some of the guys giving the class a go :XD:

I did do a picture of what male pegasus riders would look like, but that is for another thread!
