Others have probably mentioned it but I haven't seen it changed yet.

The description for the Pass skill says it affects Perfect Guard but it does not, it actually affects Perfect Dodge. This is probably not a datamine issue as the in-game description states it works with Guards.

Huh, that's odd. If changing it, I would mention the in-game description has an error, so people don't get confused.

  2. Ooh, nice. I think I have that strategy active right now. I need to remember to spam more spells during side quests...

Added a quick page for cooking.

Also, added forging data to the data-mined sheet. I think there's a lot of unnecessary data though xD

BTW, in case anyone was wondering, I think there's a mistake or ambigious phrasing in the tutorial for unleashing relics. When you unleash accessories, it says some accessories may grant "increased stat growth". I thought this meant boosting growth rates. But I think it means boosting the accessory's stats (eg. Spd +3 to Spd +6).

I mean, I guess the phrasing isn't wrong per se, but that was not the first thing that came to mind XD

Noticed something from the data mine that persisted on to character pages. It seems Brigand isn't properly mined for all characters. For example, Bernadetta learns Wild Abandon and Swinging Fury at 1 Star and also learns Axe Prowess and Spike at 2 Stars. Ashe, Raphael, Ignatz, Balthus and Shamir have similar discrepancies so I'm guessing this has to do with skills learned from Fighter. Other Gauntlet and Bow oriented characters (are there others?) probably have similar issues but I don't have access to them at the moment to check.

    Thanks for the heads up!

I think I just missed two rows for Brigand (1-star art and 2-star ability). Will slowly fix the affected pages...

If you or anyone else notices any omissions, do let me know ^^

God, that sounds about right given my experience with trying to teach people at C rank support. Which really sucks given how often that's your only option because the character you're trying to teach can't learn the combat art/spell from anyone they can achieve higher than C rank support with... guess I'll just be here, trying to have Dorothea teach Annette Agnea's Arrow, for however long that may take. 😭

It's worse than I thought. Might be closer to 0.4% for C support.

That would align it with 1/256. Which would make a lot of sense, in terms of programming (256 is the max value in hexadecimal).

B seems to be 3% (459 samples) while A has decreased to around 7.5% (210 samples).

Yes, it's just the way the game handles that particular character.

For what it's worth, there's a surprising amount of unused battle lines in the game for Thales, Cornelia, Solon, and Kronya that only make sense if they were intended to be playable; lines for being given orders on the battlefield, partnering up, racking up KO milestones, and other things. More than any other NPC characters besides obviously the Forbidden Five.

It's a group of four rather than a group of three like the placeholders suggest, but I wouldn't be surprised if we got some kind of villainous TWSITD campaign or something.

    Huh, that's very interesting.

I'm trying to figure out where they'd squeeze their data, but nothing is coming to mind. That said, I think only the learn set data has minimal room. They could expand it easily, but I would've expected them to pad the file, if they were expecting/planning additional characters.

However, if they were only playable in a campaign and didn't join you (thus they don't learn any abilities/arts), I could see it making sense. Might be disappointing for players though...

On the topic of combat arts and spells, if anybody knows the durability costs at levels 1, 2, and 3 for each one, that'd be useful to have. I only have a scant few listed.

Oh yeah, I updated the sheet sorta recently.

Did more testing and A support art/spell tutelage seems to have around 10% success rate.

B and C need more samples, but I think they're around 5% and 1%. Hopefully C is higher, but I don't have high hopes...

  7. 1 hour ago, Anomalocaris said:

I should probably rework the tutelage section to list who can pass down which arts/spells, now that we know it seems to be a character-by-character basis.

From the 4 characters I looked at (Shez, Lysithea, Marianne and Holst), it seems to be arts/spells learned in their preferred classes?

However, there's a little snag. Anyone with a preferred class in, say, Warrior or Wyvern Lord can't pass their art down because everyone learns the same art in those classes. That's why Hilda only gets 1 teachable art...

    49 minutes ago, ZanaLyrander said:

It seems really inconsistent. At C rank, I tried to teach two different combat arts to two different people, by spamming that combat art constantly throughout a mission. For one, they learned it on the very first run. For the other, it took like seven runs. So I have to assume there's some large element of random chance involved, it certainly doesn't seem consistent.

    It seems massively random.

I didn't record it (I thought I did), but one time I learned the spell on the very first cast with C support.

  8. Trying to estimate how long it takes to pass down arts/spells to adjutants.

Even with perfect conditions (infinite use arts/spells), it's painful.

A support seems OK. About less than 1 min on average of non-stop art/spell spam.

B currently averages 3.5 mins of non-stop spam, but I need more samples.

Likewise, C needs more samples, but is around 5.5 mins of non-stop spam so far.

Of course, in a real situation, you can't spam arts/spells for anywhere close to 1 min...

  9. Ooh, sounds promising.

I'm in the middle of a hacked playthrough and could probably test some case scenarios soon. So far I haven't recruited any of the Ashen Wolves or Byleth/Jeralt. Currently on Chapter 12 of the first route after 1~2 hours, but the other two routes should be quicker with Vanguard Whistles.

Started testing the growth boosts from battle suggestions.

After disabling character and class growths, the Magic one seems to be a +10% random boost, after doing ~3000 level ups (well, 29 lots of Level 1 -> 99). I'm assuming it just adds on top of the class growths, but I'll have to renable those to confirm.

  10. Ahahaha, I was wondering that too. Like, wow, they got there fast.

I also suspect they're more useful when you're not looking/elsewhere. Although I have encountered the rare occasion where they seemingly don't do much and I have to swoop in myself (c'mon Claude, does it really take you that long to capture a Wyvern Rider stronghold?).

Er is it just me or anyone else getting 503 errors on the wiki...?

    edit: nevermind it's gone...

Unfortunately I was making some edits and I lost all my progress... *sigh* I'll do it again later.

Damn, really sorry about that. The 503 errors have been pretty common lately. I need to figure out what's causing them.

    Just in case...

If anyone is making large-ish edits to pages, I highly recommend copying everything to Notepad or a similar program in case you get an error.

(This is also helpful when working on other websites where it doesn't auto-save your work and you accidentally hit back or close the browser etc.)

  12. Added battalions. Kinda haphazardly divided them. Wasn't quite sure where the "unique" battalions end.

I was thinking, it may be useful to have a character availability chart, for which characters are available in which routes. I know the information is available on the recruitment page, but like, presenting info in different formats can be useful to some people.

Oh yeah, that sounds like a good idea.

Knowing who's in (or not in) a particular route could be a deal-breaker for some people xD

Ooh, looking good. Huh, I wonder if some (or just one) of those files is a leftover from Three Houses...

Is there some reason that the wiki doesn't have a mass uploader? It's just running mediawiki right, so is there some reason an extension can't be added for that?

    Uhhhh, I have absolutely no idea ^^;;

This is something Jyosua would need to do, because I don't have the technical knowledge or credentials. I did ask him a long time ago, but I can't remember where the discussions ended up. In any case, I've sent him another message.

Hey, id be happy to help out. I'm not a data miner, but I play a lot and I can help where I can.

Cheers. Oh no, you don't need to be a data-miner, haha. One or two of them is probably more than enough ^^

    Sent you a PM anyway.

Super happy to have icons, my character pages going forward will have them 🙂 Just a quick thing in testing out uploads. I happened to by chance click on the nullify cavalry and noticed that it, flying and armor were all one number off of what they should be. 174,175 & 176 instead of 175,176 & 177 respectively. Not a big deal and I've changed them as well as uploaded their icons but as I'm not familiar with vlookup and a lot of the other things you mentioned i thought it might be a warning of other errors and I should tell you just in case.

Edit: upon further inspection it's wrong on the private sheet as well so maybe it's just that. Also if I could get the round combat arts icons and character sprites for each class I would add all those as well.

Ah, thanks for letting me know.

The icon ID is correct, but the graphic is wrong. I'm guessing the current image 174 (Nullify Infantry Effect?) doesn't exist. So 175 to 180 should be shuffled back by 1 each.

In any case, it doesn't matter too much, so long as it's correct now ^^

I  just uploaded the combat arts to the test page.

For class sprites, I can't remember where I put them, ahaha. You could try asking @tipperthescales

We can always grab the Relic / Sacred / Agarthan weapon icons to categorise them 'at a glance'.

Speaking of, what are all the icons used for abilities and skills (not CA / magic / weapons those are straightforward)

Oh yeah, been a bit busy, but this private sheet lists the icon IDs.

Meanwhile this zip file has all the icons with the IDs as their file name.

Trouble is, the SF wiki lacks a mass uploader; you can only upload one image at a time.

There are 1200+ abilities, but only(!) 483 icons, but IIRC only(!) 397 are used.

If anyone does want to try uploading the icons, I'd recommend using spreadsheet software to do a vlookup or something, so you can automatically assign file names/links for each ability. Then upload the images via the wiki red links.

Actually, I should probably do that myself...

    EDIT

I started a bit in the full ability/arts list.

If you want to automatically insert icons yourself, what you can do is go to the private sheet, copy the ability name and icon columns and paste them into a spreadsheet.

Next, copy the table from the wiki to your spreadsheet, either nearby or in a separate sheet.

Add a new column in the wiki table for the icon. There, for each row in the column, do a vlookup using the ability name on the right, referencing the copied and pasted list from the private sheet, to grab the icon ID. You can also use concat to sandwich the icon ID between "[File:Three-hopes-ability]" and ".png|22px]]".

After that, chuck the new table in Table Cleaner.

Then convert that table using HTML table to MediaWiki.

Oh yeah, the ability list in the private sheet might be kinda funky. I recommend doing some kinda validation check for Three-hopes-ability000 before uploading to SF. Only one(?) ability should have this icon, but it's also the default icon, which shows up when an error happens.

Haha, I didn't even know you were the one running the datamine spreadsheet, or at least a contributor to it.

Yeah, I've fetched some info off there, but a lot of it is gonna have to be tested in-game like weapon ranks and forgeability it seems.

Oh, figured out weapon ranks after perusing the battalion data, which is much more simple.

Who thought this was a good idea?

    • 0 = A
    • 2 = B
    • 4 = C
    • 5 = D
    • 6 = E

Hey! I'm in for helping grow the wiki under this display name! Let me know what I can do to help 🙂

    Cheers! I'll try and create an account once I stop getting 503 errors on the wiki ^^;;

Speaking of weapons, I've started making a (very preliminary) page for swords, which can be used as the format for the other weapon types once it's finished.

My access to the game itself is limited at this time so I can't do too much with it yet, but I figure if anybody else wants to take a crack at it I'd get it started.

Oh yeah, if it helps, I've added some weapon data to the data-mined spreadsheet.

There is some stuff missing from the sheet, some of which will probably need playing the game. For some bizarre reason, I cannot find weapon ranks, although I can modify them. I might also re-check all the unknown values again, in case I missed something.

Can we do tables wider than 800px? I know that was an issue in the last wiki but that 5 years ago.

Hmm, I can't remember that far back, haha. You could try and if it somehow breaks, we'll find out : P
