  1. I've seen you post this opinion a ton and (while it is off topic), I don't really think Hinoka!Forrest is bad or not worth trying. Yeah, he does like Sakura a bit more and his Magic Mod will only be +2, but his Growths are actually great. 65% Magic coupled with 50% Speed as a Sorcerer is pretty darn nice. The same even applies as a Strategist, just with 5% less Magic. He can get Rally Speed from Falco Knight too for some good general Support. Considering how well Hinoka works with Leo (and to a lesser degree Leo working with Hinoka, mostly as a Falcon Knight), I think it's certainly worth giving a try. Trust me, it's nowhere near as god awful as Elise!Kiragi. On topic, I bet Forrest and Kiragi would make a fun pair of siblings.
  2. This list doesn't take the 2nd Gen into account, as there's just way too much variance in how different kids perform based on their mother. I'm also assuming little to no grinding (I.E. DLC or Challenges), since if you do allow it, everyone is viable. Finally, this is primarily focused on the main game, as PVP is an entirely different ballgame. Samurai: Ryoma (Ougi/10.) Flier: Camilla (Basically no contest here. However, running only 1 Flyer isn't super recommended, as most of them are quite good.) Healer: Sakura/Elise (Really depends on how much availability matters to you. I prefer Elise's personal though) Ninja: Saizo/Kaze (Saizo turns out better, Kaze has an availability lead) Archer: Takumi (No real contest unless you go with Archer!Mozu) Cavalier: Xander (Though Rev Silas isn't bad) Spear Master: Oboro (though she is the only one) Mage: Leo/Hayato (Both turn out well. Hayato has great bases on Rev and makes a killer Oni Chieftain, while Leo has a mount, DV Access and his prf Tome) Knight: Benny (He's immediately usable in Rev w/o Grinding. Effie? Not so much.) Mercenary: Selena Beast: Keaton Fighter: Rinkah/Charlotte (You basically pick one, have them buddy the other and run Deathblow and Gamble as a Berserker. Pretty fun.)
  3. Keaton's spouse/buddy can't inherit Wolfskin. Instead, he passes on his secondary class: Fighter. The same happens with Kaden and Diviner. Inheritance can be a little odd in this game.
  4. While he doesn't have access to Fighter naturally, if he marries/buddies someone who passes it, he can learn Skills from it as a Hero.
  5. Both will boost her Skill (the actual stat and it's Growth), so woo for that. Dark Flyer will probably be the most immediately useful, due to the mobility and the prospect of getting Galeforce down the line. That being said, Witch (I think) provides better Pair Up Bonuses (Especially for Jakob who is looking for some more Speed) and Warp (At the same time you would get Galeforce if you wanted to go Dark Flyer). Personally, I'd say it's pretty even. Is she going to be your main Magic user? Just curious.
  6. A Pair Up that boosts her Bulk is helpful. You could also give her something like Lightning to take advantage of it's Brave Effect and her super high Magic to get over it's bad MT. Using her like an Archer (I.E. someone who only does things on Player Phase) is preferable, because her durability is terrible w/o some help.
  7. Shoutouts to Conquest 14 Corrin... Oblivious: Ignore any terrain bonuses the enemy has during combat.
  8. I've Entraped Hans before, but never in that location (I've done it in the room above Iago early in the map). Cool tip, I'll keep it in mind!
  9. My next run of Conquest (Hard), I'm planning on no royals (minus Corrin and Azura). In my previous play through I relied on Xander (reclassed to Hero) and Corrin (Nohr Noble with Horse Spirit) to tank the last portion of 26 (the part w/Hammer Zerks and Beast Killer Generals). Since I can't use Xander (or Cam for that matter), anyone have some alternatives they like? Atm, I'm thinking Wyvern Lord Beruka w/Sol might do okay if her Speed is decent against the Zerks, but who knows?
  10. I would actually totally disagree on the army building comment. The new reclassing system actually makes it possible to do some cool Skill builds without having to grind and make the game's difficulty irrelevant. Granted, I do feel that the Optimization aspect of the kids is pretty irrelevant now. However, if that's the only real trade off for better Maps, The Stances, better reclassing and neat new classes, I'm pretty okay with it. Not to say that Unit Optimization isn't it's own brand of enjoyable (and Awakening did have DLC to let you take advantage of the planning), but as a core Fire Emblem experience that I want to replay, I'd take Fates any day. That's just my opinion though.
  11. Pretty much. Don't get me wrong, I love Awakening, but in terms of pure mechanics, I find it hard to argue that Fates isn't the better game.
  12. No problem! Peri!Midori will be pretty nice as a Mechanist, especially if she inherits Elbow Room or Luna.
  13. Whose going to be her mom? I've most often seen Midori deployed in Conquest as a "Loot Bot" (I.E. using her Personal Skill in combination with Merchant's LV. 5 Skill to "farm" Gold Bars). If that's what your aiming for, basically whichever class has the highest Luck Cap would suffice. If you want to use her as a combat unit, it again is going to depend on her mom. Unless you recruit her really early and make her a Ninja, she's probably going to be a Bow Specialist, so classes like Mechanist (part of her default set) work, as do Bow Knight (if Selena was her mom) and Kinshi Knight (if Azura was her mom). If Mozu is Midori's mother, you can actually have her pass down Quick Draw (if you had Mozu dip into Archer a little bit) and still let Midori pick up Aptitude rather easily (as Merchant is part of her default Apothecary tree). Granted, you would sacrifice Aptitude for her Auto Levels.
  14. I think this is the one time in my life I've been glad that (in my middle school days) I used to be a member of the Sonic fanbase. You get pretty thick skin when literally everyone is complaining about every aspect of your favorite game, even people who apparently like it. Compared to that, people complaining about my favorite FE games isn't really anything new.
  15. My bad for not noticing that! I guess the next best options we have are Felicia and Effie (if we're going for resemblance to the character Velouria is playing first and foremost.). Pick whichever you like, though Effie would probably work better gameplay wise.
  16. Gameplay wise? Easily my favorite (or tied with Radiant Dawn). Story wise? Well... Umm... There are a good amount of supports I like. I play FE for gameplay first, Supports second, Overall story fairly distant third, so I guess that's why I'm still pretty into Fates even after putting about 200 hours into it.
  17. Sorry to bump this, but I just want to make sure I'm putting this into practice properly. So let's say I'm recruiting Percy at Level 10. His absolute bases will be.. HP: 6 Str: 4 Mag: 0 Skl: 6 Spd: 6 Lck: 15 Def: 8 Res: 4 In order to increase these, I would need to have his parents Personal Stats be 4 points higher in order to gain the bonus point. So if both Arthur and Effie had a Personal Strength of 8, would Percy gain +2 to his Personal Strength base when I recruit him? I'm pretty sure that's correct, but I just want to be sure I'm getting it.
  18. You know what, I think I was getting the false impression of the whole "+4 Net Gain" thing from simply misreading the inheritance stats being divided by 4. Thanks for clearing that up! I guess my only remaining question is if the +2 to a specific stat is applicable to both parents, or simply stays at +2. For example, if both Saizo and Sakura met the requirements to pass 2 more Magic to Asugi, would his base go up by 4 or 2. Sorry if it sounds confusing, it's just the best way I could phrase it.
  19. I... I said that I checked the Base Stats page and just wanted some clarification if I was understanding it correctly. I even mentioned the page you linked by name.
  20. I guess I'll go ahead an post some more if you want to get this project going. Mozu!Velouria is probably the closest we an get to Panne's hair in this particular run (what with "Chrom" already being taken and Hana being a Rev exclusive Pairing for Keaton). Soleil should totally be Gaius, she even has the headband! Tbh, this is more of a joke, but since Ninja's are pretty limited on Conquest, it's either her or Kaze. As for Soleil's mom... um.... Selena I guess? You need Red to make Orange, right? If not, maybe Felicia? Faded Pink is the same as Orange last time I checked.
  21. I've been recently getting my buddy into FE and he had some questions about the Fates kids, mainly if there were any differences between how they were handled in Awakening. I've been able to explain everything, with the exception of how their bases are calculated. I'm aware that a simple explanation is "Higher leveled = Stronger", but I've never really understood the calcs on the Base Stats page, so I figured I'd ask about the exacts for myself. From what I understand, if the parents pass a specific stat threshold, the child will receive 1 extra point in said stat. I.E., if Saizo passes a certain amount of Skill, Asugi will receive an additional +1 to his base. I believe that each parent can do this twice, leading to an overall net gain of +4 to any given stat. Am I totally off?
  22. To those asking why Jakob isn't being brought up, I'd highly advise Heart Sealing to a Cav Promotin ASAP. He basically becomes the games Oifey, benefitting from promoted class basses in a much better combat class than Butler and the potential to grab some awesome skills eons before everyone else. On topic, I'd say I ultimately prefer Felicia to Flora, based solely on the Flame Shuriken and good Staff use. Floras fine (especially if all your looking for is a bulkier healer who can de buff), but I've never really found the time to seriously run her.
  23. Theres a ton of stuff to translate, so I wouldn't outright dismiss it yet. Granted, maybe a mention would help at least confirm it is being worked on, but I'd still bet on getting it. I don't think they outright skipped any Awakening DLC, so I don't see why they would for Fates.
  24. I'll leave it up to you which class to make him, though I guess Strategist would be the preference. Whichever Mother you prefer really.
