  1. She does give a -1 Cap. However, because of Silas' +1 Mod balancing it out, the +1 given to all non 3rd Gen Kana's leaves her with a +1 Str Cap. Mods also matter the least in Conquest, since with the lack on non DLC Grinding, even your key players aren't likely to ram all of their stat Caps. They'll hit some, but not all.
  2. The Paralogues in Conquest are the only non DLC/Invasion method of gaining EXP outside of the Main Story Chapters, so it's 100% worth it to go for as many as you can. I'll also highly disagree with Selena being a bad mom for Sophie. As a Great Knight, she'll have 50% or higher Growths in HP, Str, Skl, Spd and Def. She'll basically be another Silas, which is pretty nice in general. Plus, her class selection will rock. She can take her innate Lance Rank into Sky Knight too, which is a rare class in Conquest.
  3. Selena makes a pretty good Velouria. Sure, she's one of the hardest kids to mess up, but she and Keaton give each other great bonuses and Velouria likes some of Mercs skills to help with her tanking.
  4. If you want to pair Beruka I'd give her to either Niles or Kaze.
  5. Does anybody know how exactly the reinforcements work for Conquest Chapter 24? I'm pretty sure some of them are triggered based on position (I remember a bunch spawning once I reached Hinoka in Normal Mode), but are there any based solely on turn? I haven't exactly dug into the Chapter yet on Hard Mode, so I'm just curious what to expect and when (knowing where reinforcements spawned from made 22 a lot more manageable).
  6. I don't have a problem with this at all. As reflected in his low stats in all difficulties, Xander is clearly kind of suicidal after what has happened and wants Corrin to kill him. However, he's the honorable knight and will fight to the death even if Elise died. It's honestly kind of a nice mirror of what happens with Ryoma on Conquest.I know a lot of people give him and Ryoma flack for turning on Corrin depending on the route, but can you really blame them? They've just flat out sided with the enemy nation and both of them are the heirs to their respective countries thrones, of course they wouldn't hold back and want them dead.
  7. Fair point, but I would honestly take that over using Quixotic and Hoshidan Unity to make Lethality at best proc 36% of the time. Again, the setup works fine if you want to make Lethality you're main source of offense, it's just that a lot of us don't find it to be reliable enough to bother with.
  8. It's probably fine? I've never used it personally, but Nohr Prince/Princess and Mercenary have fairly similar Class Growth Rates (Noble Prince/Princess has a bit more Str and HP while Merc has more Spd). Hero's Sol could be pretty neat and Bow Knight has a mount with Grim/Shadow Yato usage. Remember, anyone Corrin A Supports with let's them use their Primary class through Friendship Seals, so it's not like you only have Merc as an alternate option.
  9. +Magic Corrin only really gets going once you Promote to Nohr Noble/reclass him into a Dark Mage/Diviner/get the Levin Sword.
  10. With so many skills that just flatly boost your damage, Luna and Astra, Killer/Great Weapons and proper Guard Stance Bonuses, do you really need to specifically make Lethality work? Like, is there ever an occurrence where a Berserker with a Great Club and the Deathblow skill won't kill something? That's 1 Skill for essentially the same effect as using 3 to make Lethality proc essentially 1/3 of the time. Like, I don't wanna be a party pooper, but there are soooo many ways you can get reliable KO's in this game, Lethality is really just there for gimmick set ups.
  11. I'm almost positive it was EXACTLY enough too... If I had him use the Beaststone +, he may have been fine and not been doubled. God I wish I knew that you can go down the stairs to completely reset the "Oboro Squads" formation. P.S.: TC, you can go down the stairs to completely reset the "Oboro Squads" formation.
  12. Gotcha. I wish you the best. I'm on Chapter 23 now and Luna Oboro sends you her warmest regards... Poor Keaton...
  13. I can only recommend early promoting in 3 situations. 1. The first is if you are simply stuck in a Chapter and no alternative strategy you think of can work. If that's the case, an early promotion may turn the tables, but you're basically damming that units long term potential. 2. If you really want your healers to start participating in combat, early promoting them will help with Weapon Ranks. The 2 characters I think this applies to most are Elise and Azama. 3. Finally, if you have absolutely no intention of using a character for practical combat whatsoever, early promotion will allow them to give better bonuses during Guard Stance (Remember that Guard Stance bonuses are now solely determined by the individual character and their class, their actual stats have nothing to do with it). The character you'll see this done to most often is Charlotte, for that massive +8 Str and +5 Spd if she S Ranks someone as a Berserker.
  14. Seems good to me. If you don't mind me asking, any particular reason you're not Pairing Benny of Kaze? Do you just not want to use My Castle Skirmishes to grind the Supports?
  15. That's what I assume when "Optimally" Pairing in Fates, but I believe TC is just concerned with the kids.
  16. You may have mentioned it earlier in the thread, but what S Ranks are you aiming for?
  17. Growths in Fates are lower than in Awakening, but 3-4 Stats per level is the average. Baki and Hinata are on the lower end though
  18. It's just a bonus on top of Tonics, but extra stats are still extra stats
  19. As someone who is doing a Conquest Hard run right now, I haven't really found resources to be all that scarce so far. As of Chapter 22, I have 35000 Gold and have been able to dip into Reclass options just fine. As for the Drop, yes, it's really useful, but when Tonics and the Mess Hall are always available, I personally don't really find the effort needed to save the Villagers worth it. Honestly, more power to you if you did. As for Benny and Kaze, My Castle Skirmishes allow you to grind up their Supports if you really want their Paralogues. I'm not sure how much Ignatius will bring, but I could see Midori working in Chapter 24.
  20. The A.I. Is terrible, but ultimately, it's just an Energy Drop and a Partner Seal. Yeah, they'd be nice, but it's not like your missing cash or a cool weapon if you just let them walk to their dooms.
  21. Am I the only person who doesn't hate Sophie's Paralogue? Like, if you stay too long it can get overwhelming, but you don't have too... Am I just a weirdo? Yes? Okay...
  22. I give them a pass for multiple actors playing different parts, mainly due to how big Fates" cast is, especially compared to Awakening. While some didn't exactly sound too different (Selkie and Peri sound basically the same), people like Cam Clarke, Matt Mercer and Max Mittleman really pulled it off.
  23. Pretty much this. Male Kana is my only real complaint. This may sound a bit weird, but I think this may have been s bit of a mis cast voice director. Kris Zimmerman is mostly known for the Metal Gear series, which is distinctly different from Patrick Seitz"s more "anime/jrpg" background that he brought to Awakenings voice direction. All of the voices sound fine on their own, they just don't particularly for the character designs super well. Still, when the game lets me listen to Matt Mercers beautiful singing voice, who am I to complain?
  24. Star wise, Charlotte gives +8 Str and +5 Spd at S Rank as a Berserker. Literally any physical attacker works great with her. As of right now, I'd have Niles marry her. Bow Knight > Adventurer imo and Nina will be great. Other than that, everything looks pretty great. Maybe give Nyx to Jakob, but that's only if you want a pure healing Strategist!Dwyer
  25. One of the main issues with optimizing kids comes from the fact that there really isn't an Apotheosis equivalent in Fates, so maximum stat modifiers only really matter if you want to do PVP (which is.... special). Personally, my definition of an "Optimal" Pairing is where everyone (parents and children) benefit in some way (Classes, Growths, Pair Up Bonuses, Availability ect.). If you want some suggestions based on that criteria, I'd be more than happy to suggest some of my preferred Pairings. In the meantime, I suggest tinkering around with this https://inheritance-planner.herokuapp.com/
