  1. I haven't seen either yet, but if it's anything like Rifftrax, it's because of the lack of opportunities rather than the lack of interest.
  2. Everything is better than anti-armour anything. ...Speaking of anti-armours, I merged my Frederick into Sharena to give her Luna. I used the leftover skill slot to inherit level 3 Fortify Def... and now I keep second-guessing how much SP I spent on that. I think it was 200...
  3. What sorts of builds are good on Lukas and Sharena? I want to try using a lancer that'll get to the fighting. Effie being an unstoppable wall is fun, but I think Sharena's extra move compensates for her lesser power. For reference, the rest of my team is Ryoma, Robin (F) and Lissa.
  4. Hm... Lukas or Sharena? I mean, I'm not particular fussed about precise scoring myself, but this is as good an excuse as any to experiment with a blue unit that isn't Effie.
  5. Surely Robin would be better? Sure, my Robin (M) sucked for Navarre, but Robin (F) apparently has identical stats, so maybe it's just natures.
  6. Besides, Lu Bu in a Dynasty game is the guy who walks into the room and everyone knows "you run away from this guy". I'd argue that Volga from HW, despite being a pain to fight, failed in that regard, but I digress. Hardin was always the story of a villain with a tragic backstory- his 'invincibility' thing came second. The Black Knight is the opposite: from the moment he walks onto the map, you run as far as you can in the opposite direction. (At least in PoR... RD Black Knight is much like Volga in that you never really run away from him). His backstory as a Branded is just kinda... well, it's there, but everyone knows the strength before it. Zephiel sits somewhere in between- his strength makes the greatest imposition in the early story, but his fame as a tragic villain eclipses it in the second half and outside of his game.
  7. No way, I don't want someone on my team who's just going to be one-shot dealing, like, 5 damage to him on the way down.
  8. My first five star in Heroes: "Who to crush?" And then I watched SatsumaFSoysoys's video on the differences. ...Effie definitely dropped something on the way here. Besides a couple of octaves on her voice. I'm not one to judge something I'm not too sure on that harshly, but I can say that obsession with food (Heroes confession), muscles (Fates confession) and hyper-masculinity (voiced portrayal) isn't exactly something I personally like in the first place.
  9. I know a trading system somewhat undermines the point of a gacha, but what if the system required orbs from both players to work?
  10. I'm moreso thinking of the weapons- and the fact that, after all four holiday seasons, we might have enough to make a full team for a food fight.
  11. If you mean Severa and not Brady, then your explanation gives a happier ending to Cordelia, at least.
  12. ...Oh, right, Halloween is towards the centre of Autumn. It's hard enough for me to keep the seasons straight. On top of that, I also have to remember to switch the seasons (it'd be more correct for me to describe Easter as an Autumn season and Halloween as a Spring one), so my memory can get hazy really quickly. EDIT in regards to the hair dye: then what's the point of giving everyone hair colours for their concept art? Severa's hair never gets that deep red normally.
  13. Who's Owain's father in that example, @MaskedAmpharos? Because I really don't need more reasons to think Chrom/Lissa is a potential pairing. On the subject of the holiday banners, what do we have for Autumn? Does that one technically count as the Halloween banner?
  14. Meanwhile, I hate the beach and it'll be the middle of winter during the Summer banner anyway, so unless they choose someone I actually know enough to like, I'm not interested.
  15. I concur: I don't remember what banner I got Effie, but apart from Lukas, Alm, and Effie, everyone else came from the pegasus banner.
  16. @Rezzy Jeorge, Merric and Linde got Parthia, Excalibur and Aura respectively, despite the fact that the game was missing Gronnwolf and Blarwolf tomes on player units. @Othin I know: I was originally going to say 'not pulling a Lucius', but then it sounded stilted. Hence the jab at L'Arachel not getting light magic as a Mage Knight.
  17. Tana gets Vidofnir. It's the Winged Spear, who else gets it? I'm totally not biased, what are you talking about? Audhulma goes straight on Joshua. Ivaldi is L'Arachel's unless they pull a Lucius (fun fact: L'Arachel can only use Ivaldi in one of her promotions- the other promotion path is anima). Gleipnir, Garm and Excalibur are less obvious. Maybe Knoll gets Gleipnir- he's the only one that really, 'canonically' gets Dark magic? (On a similar note, what do you think Amelia and Ewan will be? Amelia has potential to be an infantry, cavalry or armoured lancer, while Ewan could use dark or anima families of magic, with a preference to the latter due to starting with it at base).
  18. With single characters in massive crossovers, it can get potentially problematic, yes. But in a game like this? It'll be ridiculously easy to fit everyone in. Trying to fit all six generations of Pokemon, or indeed, all six continents of Fire Emblem, into the one Smash game isn't going to be easy. But all seven continents (now that Fates exists) into a game whose cast size is lowballed at around fourteen? You don't need to be a mathematician to spot the easy way out. Honestly, part of the reason Smash (or indeed, other crossovers, but Smash is known for it) is so good at introducing other people to new franchises is because they bother to put in the obscure characters. I knew who Mario and Pikachu were when I first got Brawl- I did not recognise Zelda Link, Olimar or Ike. And now look at how much I like those franchises. "Who's the Black Knight? I like how strong he is." *Oh look, Path of Radiance is finally on the VC* *People start buying the game now that Ike's been in Smash the Black Knight's been in Warriors and went toe-to-toe with Chrom.* *Path of Radiance finally gets the sales figures to stand beside its comrades.*
  19. This argument, and a little further, basically sums up my hatred of the concept of 'first installment wins'. A story about another franchise, for instance. My first Pokemon game was Diamond or Pearl (both found their way into my family, so my memory's hazy on which came first). This is largely because of my age: Pokemon Red and Blue are older than I am, and Pokemon just happened to be at Gen IV when I dived in: I have vague memories of the Heartgold/Soulsilver TV adds. My first starters were Turtwig, Chimchar and Piplup. My favourite was Chimchar, but I wound up using the other two in my many playthroughs following. Pikachu is an odd encounter off the beaten path (as in, you have no reason to ever go to where you can find it to beat the main story), and I never considered replacing my Luxray for it. Team Galactic was my first evil team, and man, did they set a bar. And yet, when it comes to Pokemon's market, everything's "Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle this", "Pikachu that", "Team Rocket for life". It took a long time for me to recognise that this is because Kanto came first, and a longer time for me to realise why this was so important. So yeah, what @Jedi ninja'd me with is a good reason to pick someone from the first generation. But you will always have fans who look at that generation and tilt their heads in confusion, not recognising these strange people that claim to be characters in their favourite franchise. I knew what a Jeigan meant when I heard people call Titania that- because Slim and Fedule made sure to explain that. I did not know who Jeigan was, and if you showed me a picture, I would not have identified him.
  20. Still can't inherit [insert arbitrary skills healers are locked out of] because... look, staff!
  21. So, I must've missed Faye's niche when I played the paralogue on Lunatic, but it seems to me that IS has listened to our observations on archers and made an archer that is literally player phase only.
  22. To be fair, Zelda has the Gerudo guards- who Link could probably handle charging at him regardless of experience level.
