My Robin is too useless to handle the red mage. I'll have to do some thinking about his replacement.

That first idea is basically what I'm settling on- when, after the aggressions, she meets with the king of the invading nation, she basically tells him "You could've told me this sooner" and turns him away.

Oh my... just remembered my Robin is -Atk. Well, both Olivia and Lissa have the Atk aura, and I never expected him to come close to being that powerful anyway.

Fire Emblem has always been a game of numbers. The removal of evasion has had the consequence of those numbers being entirely predictable in advance. With that said, this guy is far better at this branch of mathematics than I.

So far, my 'strategy' is 'peck at them with ravens until they die'. I am fully expecting a skill that'll be a pain in the rear to deal with. Otherwise, the armours are too easy to stay away from.

I'm considering the game, depending on upcoming financial situations. I'm not normally one for preorders anyway.

I'm expecting I'll be coming in with both Robins, Olivia and Lissa. The green armour will be a bit of a problem, but armours only have the one movement. At least I have a Tharja if a red tome is really that necessary. I doubt it, though, because of the mages.

So when does the thread for the Grand Hero Battle normally come out? Because I'm interested in hearing the initial reactions on Zephiel's formation.

Well, the only four-star I turned into a five star so far was a Cecilia. To give my Robin (F) four more points of attack in the form of Gronnraven+. At least with increasing the rarity of a healer, you're increasing all of your stats.

...Because they were generic Lyn's mode archers against a Florina that was one of two recipients of the experience gained in the entire story? EDIT: (While I'm at it) I don't remember much ado about Durban and Armads in FE6. No more than Hanon and Murgleis.

People will five star units because they like them. People will use sub-optimal Pokemon because they like them. People will use sub-optimal Smashers because they like them (says the one who mains Ice Climbers, sans infinite chain-grab because I don't know how to do it). You'll find this in any competitive environment. I'm fairly sure me using Lissa is a case of this, despite me not knowing a whole lot about her. Tana will be following when she shows up.

...We're arguing about facts. I'm fairly sure I could make a metaphor out of this if I felt like it. Murgleis is one of the weaposn of the Eight Heroes. End of story. 'Effective' does not mean 'useful'. I've seen bows do pitiful damage to pegasus knights- they haven't stopped being 'effective', they've stopped being 'useful'. The Divine Weapons are not 'effective' against Idoun. Dragons living in the human world have shorter lifespans. They become manaketes to extend their lifespans here. The two facts are correlated, just in the other order. Do you actually give Eliwood the Regal Blade or Hector the Basilikos?

...So there's a new set of quests that require me to actually use that Whitewing team I made... The proof is in the pudding: Palla is the weak link. I mean, Est is hardly amazing, but getting Palla her 35+ kills took far too long. We need better flying reds.

I would also like to point out that the Black Knight appeared as a trophy and a Mii costume in Smash, while Hardin-as-villain failed to get out of Japan twice. I believe Tellius's poor sales in comparison to its current following is strictly due to predating Brawl. I got into Tellius (and FE as a whole) thanks to Ike in Smash- who knows who else did.

Speaking of Korath's "Roy's Harem" team, does anyone know of a thematic team that's actually viable? I know the Whitewings aren't (well, with Skill Inheritance, you could make a case for it), but any other fun builds?

My Whitewings have been handling this. With Michalis instead of Caeda, yes, but a green is a green.

She gets too exhausted running to the battle? There can't be too much endurance in that skinny frame.

I haven't been in this particular part of the forums due to lack of interest and ability to play Fates, and am now here for the benefit of literary pursuits. Honestly, I stuck with the non-Corrin ones largely because of that inexperience and confusion on where to draw the line. Besides, isn't Silas supposed to be a debatable one too?

Meanwhile, I actually found myself stumped by a rather ordinary team due to the enemy's position. They brought an Eirika, Cecilia, Robin (M) and Takumi. Normally, the arrangement wouldn't have been that bad, but it was a forest-y map and the Robin and Takumi sat at either end of the battlefield. I eventually lost that largely because I couldn't quite get my own Robin to handle the enemy Robin and Takumi without getting caught by Eirika (whom Effie had problems reaching), and all the while, I had to keep an eye on Cecilia.

Do I just click 'Report User', or do I have to fill out a form as well? (And don't say you already have- numbers speak louder than voices).

I always go with females when it comes to avatars. It's been something I've done for so long as to be instinct. Ironically, I think I want my pegasus run in Awakening to have a male Robin. It's not set in stone at the moment, but a male Robin actually lets me have one more unit. Whether that unit is worth it remains to be seen. Since Sky Knight is available as male in Fates, I don't imagine there's any gameplay reason left for me to consider a male Corrin if I get to it.

I'm looking into the ideas behind the retainers, so along with what retainers stood out to you in Fates, I'm also interested in hearing what makes a retainer tick for you. What makes a retainer good... or perhaps not so good? Neutral is present because you need to answer both polls to be able to submit, and I suspect not everyone has a clear favourite or unfavourite. Use it only if you need to.

If it was about me wanting that exact pull... eh, I've already got Alm and Lukas, and I don't particularly know if I want those skills on the other sides. (Skill-wise, I need someone to get Swordbreaker off of). But three five-stars in one pull?

Just because I don't use Robin as a blue unit anymore doesn't mean I can't. ...Though forgive me if I have no idea how my arena team would counter that.
