  1. Fire Emblem Switch isn't releasing until 2018. We probably won't get anything more than tiny teasers until much later this year. If anything, we'll see a bit more about FE Warriors. Heck, it's early enough that they could up and cancel FE Switch if they needed to. Just like FE 64.
  2. I work on a farm, meaning I'm outdoors in a lot of rather poor weather. Given the added inconveniences of dealing with rain, snow, mud, etc, I usually only switch out to shorts when the days are consistently 60+ (in Fahrenheit).
  3. So, I've got a question for you guys. Where/how do you trade games? I understand that not everybody does this, but it seems pretty popular with some people I know. And I would really like to know how I can participate in that whole deal as well. I've got Conquest, which I don't really care that much for. I would like to try out Shadow Dragon, which seems more to my liking. Both games sell for about the same on Amazon, and I know there are people out there who want Conquest. So what would be the best way to do a trade like that, without blowing a boatload of money on shipping or getting scammed and never seeing my game again? Is that even something people do anymore? Given the nature of video gaming, is that even legal? Because if it was, I figure somebody would find a way to abuse the crap out of it! Anyway, your insights would be appreciated.
  4. FE7's a great follow-up if you just finished playing 6.
  5. When Corrin meets Garon and doesn't immediately say, "hey peeps, this dude is apparently evil beyond belief. I don't want to be his son any mo'!" Yeah, but Corrin's amnesia sucked and was never really explained satisfactorily.
  6. I would love to see DLC that gives everybody axes! Um... is this really a topic for Serious Discussion?
  7. Other relevant factors Other relevant factors supporting a reasonable cause recommendation based on the conclusion that the occupancy policies are pretextual would include evidence that the housing provider has: made discriminatory statements; adopted discriminatory rules governing the use of common facilities; taken other steps to discourage families with children from living in its housing; or enforced its occupancy policies only against families with children. The Building Officials and Code Administrators handbook states that for health and safety reasons you need 70 square feet of bedroom space for one occupant. If you have more than one occupant you need 50 square feet per person. If you have a unit with one-bedroom that measures 10 x 8 or 80 square feet it would be too small for two people. But if you have a unit with one-bedroom that measures 10 x 16 it may be big enough for three people.
  8. It definitely depends on the game. In PoR, everything is designed at a fairly reasonable scale with the actual unit map sprites, so turns are probably only taking a few minutes at the most. In Genealogy, that is definitely not the case, and a turn would probably represent about a day. It's worth noting, however, that in some games (FE7 for instance) you have maps where you are fighting in a village or castle and everything is properly scaled, but then you have outdoor maps where villages and castles are only about 6-9 tiles in size. So I guess it depends on the map as well. It would certainly be an interesting mechanic to see in future games, though, where a day/night cycle operates in relation to how many turns you take.
  9. Thanks for the advice! I'm playing on Normal Classic, so hopefully the difficulty doesn't get too intense. I'm pleased with the difficulty so far, though. It feels good to have to reset on normal mode again!
  10. So, I'm finally playing through Fates! I'm starting with Conquest, and I have a few questions: 1: What's the deal with Felicia? Is there something I'm missing here? I understand that Gunter is Jeigan (those growths) but Felicia... seems like a decent character. Should I use her, seeing as she is going to reach level 20 without reaching her full potential the way other units would? 2: In the older Fire Emblem games, you had to sacrifice giving experience to most of your units and instead focus on training an elite team. Is that the case in Conquest? How do I unlock child units if I decide to bench their fathers? 3: Are there any good strategies for building up supports faster in this game? I can deal with limited gold and EXP, but I want to unlock all of the paralogues. 4: Is there anyone I should definitely not use? A broken mechanic I should take advantage of? A must-have skill, weapon, or character I should go all out for? Basically, is there anything really important I should know before I start? Thanks, guys. I know you'll have some good tips. Don't worry about spoilers, I spoiled myself on YouTube a year ago.

    Birthdays.

My birthday is really just an excuse to eat at Maggiano's. I do enjoy having ice cream cake every year, though.
  12. So, after reading through some Awakening support conversations, I noticed both Tiki and Nah mentioning eating humans in their supports with Anna and Inigo, consecutively. While they may have been jesting, they seemed kinda serious. Is there a precedent in a previous game for manakete that eat humans, or is this something Awakening made up?
  13. In my opinion, the pirate, brigand, and barbarian classes should all be combined into a single class with the ability to travel over mountain and water tiles and destroy villages. Give it a cool name like "Raider" and you're ready to go!
  14. If "Mila's Gear" is going to allow you to take back your moves like a lot of people think it is, then that kind of gets rid of the need of battle saves. And if it's going to have limitations to how much you can do that, then battle saves would be a way to work around it (i.e. cheat).
  15. The original was great, gameplay and plot-wise, but it had pretty mediocre graphics. I'm looking forward to this!
  16. I'm at Chapter 4, playing strictly with no grinding allowed. Should I train Artur, Natasha, or La'Rachel? Or should I just overlook light magic and let Lute or Saleh handle it? Please note that I don't really like using Moulder unless you really think he's the best choice.
  17. So, when I was looking at the new Echoes artwork, I noticed something. Some of the characters who were originally white in Gaiden are being portrayed as being black. I don't have a problem with this, but I think it's cool that Fire Emblem might be starting to embrace a bit more racial diversity than it has in the past. I mean, who have we had before now? Devdan? Kellam? Basilio? A bit more diversity would be great, in my opinion. So what are your opinions? And are there any characters from previous games that you think would go over better with a different ethnic flair?
  18. So, who exactly is Jan? I know that he's one of the original members of the Black Fang, and he makes an appearance in "Night of Farewells" as well as being mentioned in a few support conversations. But I feel like he's made out to be more plot-important than he really is. Is there something I'm missing here? Did he have a cameo in Binding Blade, or some other special appearance I wouldn't know about? Was he supposed to be a playable Brigand? Or is he just an NPC who gets a little extra attention?
  19. See, even the pros call it soccer! Take that, other Europeans! Yeah, but I hate FIFA and love Link's Awakening too! Welcome to the Forest, Adalbert!
  20. Jaegan: EXP hog who starts out better than others but may or may not continue to be that way (Seth, Titania, Frederick) Pure Jaegan: EXP hog who starts out better than others but will DEFINITELY NOT continue to be that way (Jaegan himself) Navarre: Early-game recruitable sword-user with a killing edge. Usually starts as an enemy (Navarre, Rutger, Guy, Joshua, Zihark, Lon'qu) Est: Unit with a lower level but potential for greatness (Est, Nino, + FE8 trainees and 3DS villagers if you are playing without infinite grinding) Bastian/Lucia: My own invention. Units with poorer stats, given in case better units were not recruited, trained, or kept alive. (Shadow Dragon has lots of these) Gotoh: Powerful unit hampered by their late joining time (Gotoh, Karel, Athos) Christmas Cavaliers: Red focusing on Speed and Skill, Green focusing on Strength (Cain and Abel, Allan and Lance, Kent and Sain, Kyle and Forde, Sully and Stahl) Pegasus sisters: 3 peg. knights who can perform triangle attack (Thany, Tate, and Juno, Florina, Fiora, and Farina, Vanessa, Tana, and Syrene)
  21. Gosh, is even the definition of the term "subjective" by nature, subjective? You guys are making my head spin.
  22. When I used the word "subjective", I did not mean that humans can decide what is and is not true about the universe. I meant that each human decides what they believe is true about the universe, and no one else can (or should) force them to believe differently. I am a Christian because that is the logical conclusion I came to. If someone else arrives at a different logical conclusion, I don't have a problem with that. I still believe that I am right, and by extension, that they are wrong, but that doesn't mean I can't treat them with respect. I'm wrong about a lot of things that other people are right about, but I still have friends. So while I believe with all my heart in a God that cares about me, I still understand and respect others who may have decided otherwise. I'm sorry if this seems a little confrontational. I'm just clarifying my opinion, and it is not my intent to argue with anyone.
  23. Alright, so I actually live and work on a farm (300 acres), and to clear up a few things: Sorry. I was thinking more about video game developers when I said that, but I understand that programmers are important and often go unrecognized for their contributions. Only if you grow GMO crops and spray your fields with pesticides and nitrogen fertilizer. If you are an organic farmer like me, bugs, blights, and poor soil are an ever-present worry. That's not counting in debt. Almost every farmer in my area owes a ton of money on tractors, barns, equipment, etc. To start a conventional farm, it takes 500,000-1,000,000 dollars, which you need debt to cough up. That's not even counting in upgrades, which can end up costing millions more. I 100% agree that teachers are underappreciated. But at least you can meet them face-to-face on a fairly regular basis. Farmers are kind of hard to come across unless you live in the country. This helps explain how "Teacher's Rights" is a familiar rallying cry, but "Farmer's Rights" doesn't ring with a whole lot of people. In summary, I just think that too many people expect their food to magically appear on grocery store shelves and don't actually consider the silent folks who made it possible. Fact of the matter is, farmers are dying. Literally. The average age of farmers is in the mid-fifties now, and it increases every year as the number of farmers decreases. While I don't think individual farmers want more attention, I do think that as a nation, we shouldn't forget about the fact that behind every food is a farmer, and that overlooking them and stereotyping them could do much harm to our position as a society.
