  1. That is probably your best bet, but if you have already recruited Pahn that would make it difficult to find people to heal. If Pahn is still an enemy its easy to let the enemy archers in the walls make people for you to heal. I think the only option if you have recruited him is to have Lara attack the dancer trapped in that room with them (you might need to use Pahn's stealing ability to rearrange the dancer's inventory, perhaps give it vulneraries to keep Lara from killing it too early, or give it a better sword if your Laura is defense blessed) hopefully you can either get enough wexp to reach B, or get to level 10 to promote him.
  2. Yeah, not a big fan of him either. I seem to remember keeping as close to it as you can to it kinda help. Good Luck against the next boss, he is tough until you really learn his patterns.
  3. If you rescued Big Hat Logan, and got him to move to the Duke's Archieve he would have spilled the beans on that secret immortality of his.
  4. It wouldn't take much rewriting at all, the reason Vaida states for joining would work just as well for Murdock. In some ways it would work better for Murdock, whom feels more personally connected to Zephiel, and would feel indebted for the FE7 crew saving Zephiel when he wasn't there to do so himself.
  5. Alright, time to suggest some that aren't on anyone's radar apparently. How about Morva from Sacred Stones. He would work perfectly as a Gotoh for that game. It would be interesting if Athos got a Samson/Arran like choice with Bramimond in FE7 As much mention as there has been for Gotoh like characters, adding Gotoh to Mystery and/or New Mystery seems like a no-brainer Now for a non-Gotoh like character suggestion, letting Shannam's brief and secret appearance in FE4 become a recruitment would be interesting. Back on this non-Gotoh trend, how about a young Murdock joining either on, or just after Battle Before Dawn. Getting Sigrun in Path of Radiance would be interesting. A bit more unlikely of an addition to Path of Radiance, that would still be interesting would be to have a level appropriate Gareth join after they crash into Goldoa. As for Radiant Dawn, cutting Largo from the game was just ridiculous, he should have been playable.
  6. Oh well, it could be worse, as he has a chance of dying in that pit, but also could be better if has 50+% health when he takes them down with you. Did the same thing on my first run to be fair. It should be in that area between the Duke's Archie and the crystal cave. There is another one that has captured a character key to the DLC (well it was DLC in the original, but should be included in remaster) in a cave behind the lake with the hydra in darkroot basin... This kinda makes me wonder what you will think about the somewhat controversial choice made in DS2 where if you kill enemies enough times they stop coming back (unless you are part of the challenge rock covenant, but that is a discussion for another game...) ? I don't remember him summoning anything. Did some of the clams from in front of the boss room sneak in? If so you should be able to kill them all before entering to not have to deal with that. I will also note that cutting off his tail is a pain if you go for it, as only the middle tail counts, and you have to hit it far enough from the base to count as a tail hit. I am guessing you missed the secret and majestic area that is Ash Lake then. In the Blight Town Swamp there is a pathway past two illusory walls that leads to the Great Hollow, and at the bottom of that there is Ash Lake, and at the back of it is you can find the covenant of the Path of the Dragon...
  7. I honestly don't know if that makes it better or worse for him. If it helps I remember there being one of each silver weapon in there, and there is a fountain right before the real exit. Yeah I got a couple battles into Celica's side of part 4 on my ironman before I remembered about him too...
  8. Probably better than the alternative for Solaire. I am guessing you got the Sunlight Maggot before he could, as if he managed to reach it first he would have been overjoyed by it, and considered it his sun, but...he would then try to kill you, and probably die in the attempt. At least in his more depressive form he will survive to the end, and even be there to aid you in the final fight of the game. I am guessing you mean Siegmeyer. In Lost Izalith, did you kill all the cone-bodied monstrosities before talking to him? Did you rescue his daughter from the gold crystal golem? Ughh...can't stand that boss fight myself. Yeah, the invisible pathways are stressful to deal with (although Prism Stones do help), and one of those crystals is kinda bs with how you can falloff what looks like a perfectly walkable section of it...
  9. Its things like this that keep jumping out to me as Alm's weakness. I always figured that they were the kind of dragons that refused to restrict their powers, even in the face of madness, and that was why Naga left them a Falchion, so that the humans of Valentia would have the means to put them out of their misery when the time was right. Celica has never been shown to value her life before, why would she start now.
  10. Fun fact, he glitched through a wall and mysteriously died on my first run. Kinda anticlimactic really...
  11. I must admit, I am a fan of the other option, but its a choice for a reason, and neither options are the obvious "right" one. Hard to argue with that point. Lol...Not a fan of the mouth based transportation system of the Primordial Serpents I take it. Well done! Although if you kill all the mooks around with divine weapons it really isn't that bad.
  12. You sure? Looks like its working in this run.
  13. Literally duck where you are and it would miss you...or if it makes you feel safer go two triangles to the right. Or better yet take the advice Shrimpy gave you yesterday about the directional shield shard that blocks that attack entirely. Never said it was easy, just that it was about something other than just luck. If you are relying on janky i-frame spam, I can see why you think its roll of the dice, but that sounds like it is more by your designs than the games. Its interesting how your experience with the Zelda franchise has colored your view of this game. The online messages can help clue people into some of its secrets, although they tend to get fewer as the game ages, and is played less, plus you need to be online for that aid, and can be very vague/esoteric. Also I think you are underestimating the learning curve of the combat for those that don't regularly play games. Getting a feel for the timing of dodges (and their i-frames), or parries, and learning to read enemy tells is something that doesn't come naturally to everyone, especially to those that haven't immersed themselves in how games work. Alas it isn't really the norm, as Dark Souls got its reputation for a reason... Fair enough. I have joking said the platforming is the worst part of DS, and this feels like a similar sentiment. There are a lot of people who act like Dark Souls combat is only designed for one-on-one fights, and I think they are the ones really memeing it, as I found the fight rather easy as well. I...don't know. Hopefully not...
  14. Fair enough. As a fan of Scythes, I generally kill her to get access to the Lifehunt Scythe. Her boss fight is rather odd as she turn invisible, and you have to pay attention to the tracks she leaves in the snow to figure out where she is.
  15. Congrats! I guess I have three questions. First who were the units that shined the most on your Blitzkrieg run? Second, what difficulty were you playing for the Blitzkrieg run? And Finally did you keep track of your turn count, or have some kind of rule of thumb to keep track of it more abstractly? Personally I greatly regretted not tracking my turn count in any way when I got that achievement, as it added a lot of extra stress to the run as I didn't know how much leeway I really had...
  16. Good answer! I guess one thing I forgot to ask is did you enter the painted world of Ariamis while exploring Anor Londo?
  17. Fair enough, I was worrying that infinite souls would suck some of the fun out of the game for you, especially after how long its been since your last comment on the game. The ending with Super Ornstein is generally seen as a harder fight (plus you get his ring at the end of it as well...). Did you find the Blade of the Dark Moon covenant, and the optional fight with its leader, Dark Sun Gwyndolin? Did you, or will you destroy Gwyndolin's illusion on Anor Londo by attacking the lie that is Gwynevere?
  18. The attack where he literally shows his path in green so you can find a hole in the pattern to hide in? I think you frustration is cloud your judgement.
  19. I think the original poster has been focusing far too much on the 3ds era, as there are quite a few playable characters with facial hair throughout the series history, as such I will go through the playable casts (ignoring trial map and creature campaign only characters) of every game looking for facial hair. Looking back at the first game Jagen, Hardin, and Boah are all sporting 'staches; Lorenz and Gotoh both have full beards w/ mustaches. Gaiden only has two, with Mycen rocking his mustache, and Nomah having the full beard and 'stache combo. Mystery is a bad time for facial hair, as Jagen got shaved, and Gotoh becomes an NPC, and all of the facial hair army is culled from Book 2. At least in Book 1 Hardin, and Boah have staches, while Lorenz has a beard and mustache. Genealogy continues the terrible trend of Mystery with facial hair only existing in one of the generations, as Oifeye is the only with just the 'stache, and Hannibal the only one with full beard and 'stache. Thracia has both Dagdar and Xavier in the full beard and mustache, with Conomore as the resident mustache only unit. The end of Kaga bring us a change by adding the first playable beard only character in Marcus. As for the old just mustache and mustache-beard combo, Merlinus, Bartre, and Dayan have just mustaches, while Douglas is the only combo The first game to reach the west had one facial hair PC in each of the categories, with Marcus still a beard only man, Merlinus the only one in the 'stache only club, and Athos with the combination. Sacred Stones had the stones to field a lot of facial hair, with Gilliam, Garcia, and Gerrick (plus Orson) all sporting some kind of beards, Moulder rocking a dashing 'stache, and both Dozla and Duessel killing it with differing combination beard and mustache looks. Path of Radiance goes heavy on the beards, with Mordecai, Devdan, Ulki, and Largo all having differing styles of beards, but only Tauroneo goes with the 'stache solo, and finally Bastian, and the last minute Giffca as the only combo wielders. Radiant Dawn expands the cast and facial hair power with it as Nolan, Bastian, Giffca, and Renning all have beards and mustaches; Tauroneo, and Oliver manage to rule the stache ; while the beard only corp grows to Nealuchi, Mordecai, Danved, Ulki, Skrimir, and Caineghis. Returning to Archanea with the remake Shadow Dragon we unfortunately have the shaved Jagen of FE3, but the new units balance it out with a beard (possibly two if Ymir is supposed to have a soul patch, instead of all those marks being facial tattoos). To reiterate we have Hardin, and Boah are with 'staches; Frey with just a beard; plus Lorenz and Gotoh with full beards w/ mustaches. New Mystery adding in the FEBS characters saved the cast from being clean shaven (plus Frey I guess). Dice managed to be the only mustache holder in the game, while Frey and Frost are sporting beards (with Ymir still in the maybe category), but no one had the boldness to combine the look in this game. Awakening is where the facial hair really seems to vanish, although it may be for game balance reason, as the play would simply be too powerful with Cervantes's mustache at their side. Of the main cast Basilio has the only facial hair by sporting a beard, although with the spotpass paralogue characters added in Gangrel can add one to the beard count (although Walhart and Yen'fay both have armor covering where a beard might hide...) Fates is the clean shaven game, as the only way playable characters with facial hair exist is if you count the capturable bosses with unique portraits, in which case there are but two beards, on Kumagera and Nichol. Admittedly its not impossible that Saizo and Ryoma are hiding facial hair under their canon accessories... Echoes managed to add a beard thanks to Saber's redesign, so Mycen has the stache, Saber has the Beard, and Nomah dual wields. Last but not least Three Houses, which ends up being fairly normal entry all things considered. We have Hanneman with both stache and beard (fun fact, they had to patch his beard back into his S rank illustration in 1.02), Alois has what I think I will call a mustache, and finally Seteth and post-time skip Claude have beards.
  20. Of the Dawn Brigade crew she is the one people most suggest you train, as Wyvern Riders are really good in this game. They removed their arrow weakness and replaced it with a thunder magic weakness, which are rarely seen and low power tomes anyway, and their stat spread tend to be good on top of all the benefits flying gives. That is really unlucky, as he has a 60% speed growth... Really the answer is whomever you like enough to want to keep using. That is the other swordsman, but I will note that there is another promotion tier in this game, so its more like Edward is in a trainee class than Zihark is a prepromote... BEXP was changed so that BEXP level-ups always give you exactly 3 stat ups (unless they have less than 3 stats left uncapped...). This leads people to save it until the stage in the game where your units cap a few stats, as they then start getting stats they rarely would otherwise which are often beneficial. It does, but as I noted before there is another tier, and Master Crowns are used to move from tier 2 to tier 3 before reaching level 20+ again.
  21. I kinda like how that revival shrine is placed. If someone died in the desert it isn't that big of a deal, as there is a revival shrine right after. If Genny already has Expel, that can help deal with them swarming (although it is rather random). I kinda took it as Liprica figuring out the same thing Jedah did (but for Mila instead of Duma) that in Mila's insane state she might be in the mood for a Branded sandwich. I did also get further on my ironman over the weekend, with Celica marching all the way to the sage. Her army is a well oiled machine, start with either Dread Fighter Saber assassinating all the bowmen, or Baron Valabar drawing them in to be jumped on, then the flyers and mages move in to slaughter what is left, so no real problems or deaths. Also promoted Alm and did the easy task of doing the map where half the enemies turn into green units thanks to Zeke being free to do as he pleases, so his army is back up to 8.
  22. Charlotte is an amazing unit when trained. She comes in a little under-leveled, and want to pass her better axes on her join chapter to get her started, but once she catches up with the rest of your army she is a killing machine. Here an old pic from my logbook of what an endgame Charlotte looks like Edit: this really doesn't highlight one of her more notable traits, that she can reliably have above 50% crit chance if you try for it.
  23. Depends. For it to do anything the unit needs to have reached level 20 and capped some stats then they get a +2 at base in the formerly capped stat (I think its higher for HP, but I am too lazy to check). Sometimes that can let units cross some critical stat thresholds to make them much better, but even if not its a nice boon, and gets them closer to capping a stat (which is important for abusing Bonus Exp in this game). I guess the A supports in PoR become +5 bond supports in RD, but those are incredibly minor and only affects crit and crit avoid... Nolan is generally seen as one of the better Dawn Brigade units. Edward is alright, some people try investing in him, but he is more of a secondary mention from some of the bigger names that will join. Figured I would warn ou in case you don't already know, but the difficulties not translated consistently between PoR and RD, so RD's Normal will be more like PoR's Hard...
  24. I specifically pointed out a part of how those games are structured that would allow her (or Yuliya and Yubelo) to be an important named character, without her being a frontline combatant...
  25. As Nyna and Malledus shows, there is some non-combatant position in Marth's army that is more protected than the units you can field that Maria could have joined. When Maria is recruited she goes out of her way to join as a combat unit despite somebody (presumably Marth) protesting that.
