Considering your favorite game is fates, what you find worth playing would likely be garbage to many of us.

The disc system not coming to fruition is also why we got Secret of Mana with supposedly 40% of content cut so it could fit on cartridge. It's sad we'll never get to see/experience how these games would have been if the original vision was followed.

Pretty much this. What is a remake? Keeping the original vision and integrity while expanding on those concepts and updating/improving them. It is not lifting the script and characters and dropping them in a completely different game. Why is it still popular and well loved in Japan, and the favorite of many people who have played it? It may be unplayable to some young people who want everything to be like Fates or whatever, but if you prefer those games then play them. Don't expect a remake to just drop everything and be a Fates clone with FE4's story and characters. For people who hate FE4 and think it is an unplayable mess or whatever, why are you even interested in a remake? Maybe for the Fates remake, they could drop the avatar, and have huge maps/gameplay system of FE4 that would make it much better! Of course it wouldn't be a remake now would it?

Wow thanks for the link! Interesting read. Man I miss Shouzou Kaga so much, the guy was full of passion, ambition and creative thinking. I mean the progression and advancement and variety from FE1-FE5 is immense and sweeping. Far more than the games afterward in general. True visionaries like him are rare, Nintendo really lost an irreplacable treasure.

Could you give more details on the original plans for the game? I was not aware that it was supposed to be a trilogy, though that sounds absolutely incredible. I don't want an avatar, I generally dislike them. However if one must include them, then Oifeye would be perfect. Young squire/advisor in the 1st gen and veteran fighter in the 2nd gen.

Well I'm not an expert in the field, but I always thought lolicons were sexually attracted to prepubescent girls. Thus media presenting such girls in a sexual manner, either through the way they act, or revealing clothing, etc would appeal to them. I mean that is what most sources seem to indicate.

Time travel aside, it is the same DNA body. I mean we can say seasonal heroes here, at least some of them are from different timelines or whatever and thus not the same exact body. Isn't cavalry Eirika supposed to be some proposed different timeline? I want variety, different faces. Besides this extreme scenario of every character making a first appearance before a single non seasonal alt, we've had much more alts this year than new characters. I wouldn't be complaining much if we got Zelgius once. Or even Zelgius and Cavalry Eirika and that's it. It is sad that Thracia, in April with the year 1/3 over, is finally bringing our first banner without any alts. Half a dozen Robins isn't the most exciting thing to me.

She's going to be crazy I predict. She's the first staff unit in a long time, and healers are still considered among the weakest unit types. I think she'll get a PRF version of the absorb staff, it will have higher might and calculate damage like non staff weapons. I can't wait for the trailer! Veronica is loli, but she is like Myrrh. Her appeal is all super cuteness. It isn't to appeal to lolicons, who are more into Nowi and similar type sexualized child characters. Veronica's rise to 2nd place is largely due to how much people want a playable version of her, and seeing that she was at 5th during mid result that there was actually a chance to realize this dream. Kind of similar to W!Tharja, almost beating V!Ike. People saw she could actually win during mid result, and many switched their votes to her.

Well Ares is an actually different physical body even if similar looking. He'd be a terrible addition since he is essentially an Eldigan clone, but he wouldn't be an alt. To the 2nd question, my answer is yes.

So he would have a PRF Tome in Forseti and then have sing as his assist? I don't know. I guess Inigo worked out pretty well and can be a somewhat effective combatant in addition to refreshing duties. I'd rather heroes first appearance stick to being similar to their original game. Lachesis, Lucius. People weren't happy with how they changed. Then again healers are still among the least liked, while dancers are adored by all.

True my bad. You can get +1/-1 BST depending on superboon or superbane. Yeah BST power creep definitely draws a lot of criticism, as it should. There are some things like Mia and Athena which are really offputting. Yes I am saying exactly that. Hence my comment on why I wouldn't even want Lewyn possessed by Foreseti even if Lewyn himself is in. They could make his Forseti version a flying dragon with a unique PRF breath and it still would be offensive. Also Grima's lore and history is pretty weak except for what was offered in Echoes. Cool final boss, but just saying. Emperor Arvis, Dark Medeus, etc. Those are some of the more interesting alts, since they are canon and are very different. However even then those can come in seasonal banners, or wait til the rest of the heroes make their first appearance. I think I've made my opinion fairly clear, and there are no exceptions.

Don't mind them. Even though this is the only gacha game I've ever played, I know that seasonals are apparently a staple of these games. Personally they don't interest me too much, and when that first spring banner came out last year, I was like whatever. I'm not spending orbs on that. The first few seasonal banners were very skippable, containing mostly mediocre units and perhaps some new unique type like Summer Corrin or Spring Camilla. I didn't pull at all on any of those banners, even if bikini Tiki was aesthetically pleasing. However then came Performing Arts. 4 dancers, 2 of them are first dancer mages, one the first with a PRF weapon, and the last our first dancer dagger user. Holy smokes! There was no ignoring that banner. That was must pull. It also started a trend of incredibly powerful units no duds, not only exclusive but powerful skills/weapons, in addition to introducing new unit types. Like could you skip the Halloween banner? No. Winter's Envoy? Hell no, that is probably the most powerful banner in the game's history! New Years? Nope. Love Abounds? Nope. Essentially if you care about gameplay, then regardless of if you like/dislike seasonal costumes you were doing yourself a grave disservice by skipping any of these banners. Seasonals no longer became a side thing, but the main dish. I don't know how I feel about that. I am happy that it isn't all fates/awakening like it was last year so at least there is a good variety of characters from different games. However they have maximized the temptation. OP or at least high tier units. Check. New weapons, skills, new unit type? Check. Crazy costumes? Check. So in essence every player is going to be drawn to pull from these banners. I have to imagine the profits are beyond imagination.

That's exactly how I feel. Those mythological, historic heroes, or OP nonplayable characters. In a game like Heroes you can actually put them in, it would be so cool to play as Altina or Naga for example.

Well as I said earlier, I'd rather not have Grima for the very reason. I would rather not have any character that uses the likeness of an existing character, or possessed or whatever. That is why I was suggesting Medeus and others, etc.

It would be nice if Laegjarn is free, but let's be honest on a banner she would pull in a fortune so I doubt it. I think Fjorm was a special case, rather than something starting a new trend of free OC characters. I think the Askr trio will get some awesome upgrade that will be free however.

Well this will be tough, don't have a single unit in this gauntlet. I was waiting til after Thracia to pull on the Hares at the Fair banner, but obviously that will be too late for this. I am probably supporting team Catria. She is the most self conscious and embarrassed, so imagine being put in the spotlight as the winner! They put Kagero vs Camilla in the first matchup, guess they wanted to avoid the obvious Kagero vs Camilla final?

I'd obviously much prefer Lewyn. Ced would fit with Thracia more. Medeus would be awesome though I don't know if they would do two legendary dragons in a row. For Robin. Firstly they should have called him Grima. The main art should have been of Grima or at the very least a huge part of the background, and all the attack animations should feature him not Robin. For people who aren't familiar with Awakening it looks like an evil Robin that summons a pet dragon to fight for him. On the whale thing. Yeah Zelgius appealed to whales cause of his high BST/power. I think most whales are gacha veterans rather than Fire Emblem veterans, in which case they should just be releasing super powerful units with high BST regularly if they want to appeal to them. They could release Armor Boyd with some exclusive skill, DC weapon, and 175 BST, or better yet 176 with a super boon allowing to reach 180, and he would make a fortune from whales. Compared to other gacha, yes Heroes has a brand to protect. It wants to grow the name of Fire Emblem, and not upset its fans. Many people playing Heroes have never played another gacha, they are playing cause they love Fire Emblem.

Old man Hector with Wolf Beil maybe? I think they could have at least done a lot more animation wise and changing the lines and such, with F Grima Robin vs M Grima Robin.

Yes. I hope someone from Judgral, but yeah if there is another new hero banner, then it will likely be from that. If green and alt, for Judgral then the only one that would make sense is Julia since she is the key to defeating the main villain of FE4. If green and not alt, the possibilities are much much more.

I predict Binding blade to be the most amazing refinement since Alm, matching and perhaps even surpassing it. Roy is the 2nd most popular male character in the game, and really is god awful weak atm. Whatever they do is going to make him a huge force to reckon with. Maybe he will be able to attack from 1 or 2 spaces away (though only counter from 1 space unless he has distant counter A skill), and target lowest of def or res.

Lol, and I'm the one accused of being insulting. Yes green. However if Hector what are they going to do, give him a 3rd version of Armads? Then again, Ike Infantry, Ephraim Cavalry, F Robin Flier, ? Armor? Fjorm is infantry and Gunnthra is cavalry, so we haven't had an armor legendary yet. Whatever it is hope it is more interesting than the past few months. F Grima Robin is a bunch of reused assets (animations, aura, lines,) and is an alt of an alt (M Grima Robin). Ike was a slightly improved version of regular sword Ike but with 4CD Aether. Cavalry Ephraim at least offers something very interesting gameplay wise, even if was an alt.

Yeah she is the most popular of the contestants as a character, those DDs are going to be tough to beat though. Plus Spring Camilla and Spring Kagero are kind of the stars of their banners cause they both introduced new type of unit, that probably will be a big factor too. Never forget the voting multipliers though, we've seen many upsets due to those, so you can never be sure.

I'm assuming we'll get a new story chapter with Thracia banner, since with new heroes banners it has been what they have been doing lately. Perhaps Veronica turns against Surtr after Surtr does something horrendous to some villagers. It could be someone from Judgral, however since they seem to be going with alts, it will likely be of a character from FE4/FE5 already in the game. Sigurd, Seliph, Emperor Arvis, Dierdre, maybe Julia. Then again who knows for sure. Just hope we get something interesting this time. Gunnthra was the last legendary hero I cared for.
