  1. Was 3,669 this time, so fairly close to top 3,000. I made some significant mistakes that I think I can improve on. Also, the flier balls got me a couple of times. I think Ares might have been able to handle them though. I might build him up and see if he can. Blue fliers with a lot of defense is one major worry. The other concern is the Hardy Bearing seal. It is common on Ophelia, but I don't really see it on fliers so perhaps it won't be an issue.

The maps are good to play, co-op is enjoyable, I really enjoy the music and graphics, and the story isn't amazing, but it is ok. And I really like the Adventurers Stories, because they help to develop the characters.

They should spread bosses out every few levels rather than put one at the end of almost every map. :P: At least they have a bit of variety. The maps are mostly maze type, so I hope they consider some other forms eventually. The game isn't that old yet, so things could change. The Heroes event characters got as much or more characterization than if they had been featured in a story chapter, paralogue, Tempest Trials, and Forging Bonds combined. Everyone gets five adventurer stories and the event characters are featured in the event stories too. Only the first half of the event story is out. This is assuming that we have half of the story left. I'm not sure how long these events actually are. Seeing Alfonse, Marth, Fjorm, and Veronica fight their way through hordes of monsters makes me wish we had some other enemy types in Heroes. Sacred Stones or even Awakening would provide the source material.

One other teeny, tiny gripe and it really is trivial. It'd be cool if they released Leiptr and Falchion as weapons like they did for Folkvangr, especially Leiptr. That thing looks sweet.

Yeah, I was really hoping those weapons would be added, but it doesn't look like they will. My only 5* weapon is Alfonse's sword (with one merge remaining). I don't have anything good to give the rest of the Heroes characters.

Just as a bit of a heads up, the wings do slow down somewhat significantly. Definitely make use of them while you're getting them fast. Don't make the same mistake I did and go a ton of levels where they just butt up against 99 and lose (I think?) all those extra games.

I can't seem to use the wings up. :P: As soon as I try, both the regular stamina and the wings are refilled from a new player level. I guess as the player levels slow down, that may change. Is it always one wing per battle or is it sometimes more than one?

  3. I hadn't played before, so I had nothing to lose by rerolling. I found a reroll guide, and as a new player with the current promotions, got access to 7,350 right away. After five attempts and quite a few hours downloading well over 10 GB on a slow connection, I was incredibly lucky and got all three Heroes. I got one 5* dragon too, some giant panda looking thing. Probably useful, I don't know yet.

The story isn't really any worse than Heroes, and is easier to follow since it's not broken up over a long period of time. Many of the story sections are separate from the actual battle, so you can watch them when you want, and you don't have to skip them if restarting a battle. There is a neat map for each chapter with optional side quests like some Fire Emblem games have. They give wyrmmite rewards (often 25) for just about everything including both stories and battles. (A single summon is 120, so 25 is equivalent to about 1 orb.) There are also very rare types of items that look like they count as generic merges for 5* dragons or for 5* items. (Max unbind/merge is +4, so you only need five copies and there are no IVs.)

I like the way they handle weapons and skills much better than in Heroes. You never have to sacrifice a character you like in order to make another stronger. Ironically, it's actually closer to a regular Fire Emblem game in that everything is reusable and swappable. I was disappointed that there are no cavalry or flying units (even with dragons...). Player units seem to move at the same speed, so I don't think they have armors either. I can definitely see improvements with new classes in the future. The playable characters are less serious than in most Fire Emblem games, which irks me somewhat. The  Fire Emblem Heroes units at least act like you'd expect though. The actual character design and style of most of the characters reminds me of the Shining Force series.

The forced player competition in nearly every mode of Fire Emblem Heroes is annoying. I want to fight an evil AI, not other players I have nothing against. Even the supposedly cooperative modes in Heroes like Grand Conquest still have ranking competition within the same team. Coop in Dragalia is a good experience. If you are having trouble completing something, you can just ask for help and get other players to join. This goes for pretty much any map, even the main story or their version of Tempest Trials. As far as I can tell, everyone gets a copy of all items found when complete, so there's no worry about someone grabbing something first. Since only the host has to spend single player stamina, there is a lot of incentive to join other players. Joining requires a separate coop type of stamina, but they give lots of that out.

There are a few things I don't like about the UI in both utility and performance, but they might fix some of those in time. The actual gameplay performance is fine, but I did turn all the settings down so I don't know if that matters. Gameplay has a Fire Emblem Warriors feel to it. Autobattle works surprisingly well, and on double speed is absolute chaos to watch. Overall, I like the turn-based gameplay and the simpler way unit stats are managed in Heroes. However, I like Dragalia's coop much, much better than the competitive modes in Heroes.

While I see Heroes more like a competitive game, since most game modes have some type of rank system, Dragalia Lost is more cooperative, where you play with others players to complete quests together. Because of this, my objective in Dragalia is not be strong but have fun with the characters that I like to use.

You can unlock each character's mana circles to give them new abilities and stronger stats, and also by doing this you can unlock Adventurers Stories, which not only will develop the characters backstory and their personalities, but also reward you with more Wrymites

Interesting. The competitive portion of Heroes is my least favorite aspect. I just want to enjoy the game. I'm wary of spending any resources in Dragalia yet. I assume mana is much more rare than SP in Heroes.

Don't care about Eirika at all, but I do like Leanne. So it's a tough decision.

As an armored healer, Winter Eirika can make armor quests much easier (although they are not all that common). She also gives +5 Def/Res (staff) and + 6 Atk (C skill) to any units (even non-armor units) that have the highest attack on the team. If you can make all the other units have equal attack (various seals are helpful here), then they all get those boosts regardless of map positioning or team composition. If you really dislike her, you can inherit the staff and skills to another healer. That's five total skills though, and you can only inherit four at the moment, so you'd have to settle for dropping one level of the weapon (which would lower the bonus a little) or one level of the C skill. She also has Dazzling Staff which is pretty nice. If you really don't want her, she at least has a useful staff and skills.

Leanne is awesome too, but you know that already.

Alfonse is free. You get him when you start the event, and all you have to do is do quests with Alfonse in them and you'll get friendship points after winning the quest. If you maximize it, you keep Alfonse.

You can also get Alfonse's personal weapon for free and then get them as rewards. Two from treasure trade and the other two from the valor rewards. This way you can MUB the weapon.

Yeah, it gave me Alfonse's sword as a login bonus. Can weapons actually be equipped or are they used up permanently like Heroes skill inheritance? Swapping weapons around like seals in Heroes would be fun. I have no idea how to use anything yet. I guess I'll figure that out eventually. I'm not familiar with any of the items, so I'm getting lots of stuff that I assume is useful later. They do give a daily free item summon that's not tied to any events. I know what the orb equivalent is, so I save that. I haven't tried coop yet, but that's something Heroes is completely missing.

It says badges are needed to progress through the Fire Emblem Heroes event story and can also be traded for items. I'm guessing that there's enough for both? Would be bad to not be able to complete the event story. :D: The opening to the Fire Emblem Heroes event reminded me of Tempest Trials. (This may have been on purpose). Dragalia's intros are much nicer though. :):

  7. On the fifth try (fourth reroll) I got Marth, then later Fjorm, and finally Veronica... In 50 summons. That has to be incredibly lucky. :o:

I wanted all of them, but would have settled for just Marth (and Alfonse). Linked this result to my nintendo account right away.

Now I just have to figure out how to get Alfonse. Looks like I have to progress through the story a bit before I can use him. The game is nothing like Heroes, but is actually kind of fun in a different way. It's not a game I care that much about, so I can just play casually, and not have any stress. The story isn't great, but I like its format and delivery better than Heroes.

  8. I had an interesting experience with AI in AR the other day. I put Bow Lyn in the top corner with one structure between her and an enemy Fjorm. No enemies could reach any of my units from their current positions. On the other side of Fjorm was Legendary Azura with Ike below her. Legendary Azura couldn't reach Lyn with Fjorm in the way, so I didn't expect that placement to trigger enemy movement, but it did. Fjorm moved out of the way which let Azura move into range and attack Lyn. I didn't expect the enemy to move at all. Also, I would have thought Azura would have refreshed Fjorm (or Ike after he moved) and have them attack Lyn instead. It worked out great for me since Lyn easily took out Azura, but I still think it is odd.

Man, after seeing Alm's stats and such, I've reconsidered a bit on him. I still don't have a lot of orbs though. :(

If you're happy with Winter Eirika or Leanne then it could be worth a try, otherwise I'd wait for a rerun with more orbs and different pity breakers.

I was going to try just for Ike merges, but I also like Marth, Roy, Alm, Leanne, Winter Eirika, Winter Ephraim, Hector, and Sue. Winter Fae, Fjorm, and Nailah are OK. I don't see how I'm going to have any orbs left after this. I'll probably only get a couple 5* units with only 200 orbs, but they would be units I like or at least fairly useful. Will have to see what Golden Week brings before I spend any though.

For the first times you play co-op online, you will receive 50 Wryrmite per player that you played with, up to 50 players, so if you play online you can get 2500 easy. Since you will be a new player, you have Chapters 1 to 7 to get more Wryrmites, and these maps can be played in co-op too. There are free summoning vouchers that you can get by completing quests or as daily bonus. You can get Wryrmites by completing quests too.

I don't know how long takes to reroll, but I know two things about rerolls:

    • It's guaranteed to get a 5-Stars character from your first summon.
    • The Guaranteed 5-Star character is from a selected group of characters that not include new units, like the FEH units.

If you have a friend that plays Dragalia Lost, this person can help you in the quests by playing with you. You can create a room to play with your friends.

Do these types of characters ever return like Heroes seasonal units?

  11. 5 minutes ago, Diovani Bressan said:

You can do two types of summoning: Single Summons, that cost 120 Wryrmites, and Tenfold Summons, that cost 1200. In Tenfold Summons, you do 10 summons at the same time, with at least 1 4 Stars guaranteed.

    5 minutes ago, Xenomata said:

Unknown how hard. It'll be a lot easier since Wyrmprints won't be summonable anymore, but there's still the chance of being broken by a dragon or off-focus character.

How does Wryrmite and Tenfold Summons compare to summoning and orbs in Heroes? How much can you easily get at the start of an account? Is rerolling viable, or does that take too long?

  12. 12 minutes ago, omegaxis1 said:

Marth is very strong with those skills, especially with Fire Emblem being used 2 and 3 times to boost the entire time as it does. ANd his first skill heals himself, which is awesome.

I have 6 tenfold vouchers and 15 single vouchers and 30k wyrrmmite, along with the next 4500 wyrmmite I will get soon.

There is no way I will miss Marth.

I've never played Dragalia and don't know how summoning works. How hard would it be to get these characters if I started an account? Also, it seems that Alfonse has to be "earned" in order to use after the event? Does that take a lot of work?

  13. It's sad there is no Sharena with Alfonse. For those that play Dragalia, how much effort (and time) would it take to start an account and get all the Heroes characters? Is it even possible for a new account? (I guess rerolling could change things, but I don't want to bother with that.) Would these characters ever reappear? I'm not sure if I want to play it, but it could be nice to have the characters if I ever did.

Cymbeline already has a refine. I'd find it a little strange if the threw another effect on it now. Have they ever done that before?

    6 minutes ago, Xenomata said:

No reason it can't be updated.

Getting a refine shouldn't mean that that's the absolute last and final fine-tuning a weapon can get.

Ephraim got a refine, and then access to Flame Siegmund later. It's not quite the same thing, but has some similarities.

  15. @Lanko

Wow, you've been busy! Looks like you're having fun. :):

I'd give Celica one of the Brazen seals (Atk/Res or Atk/Def) at some point since that should work great with her refined weapon.

You got Tier 25 on your first Grand Conquest?! I still have to work for that even with good friend units. :D:

While it''s generally good to save feathers, you only have 15 5* units. It could definitely be worth promoting one here and there if there's one you like. This will help out greatly in the multi-map battles.

That's a cool idea, thanks! Though if that legendary is Micaiah, I'm not gonna care to pull her. I will definitely pull if it's Elincia though.

If it's Earth, it probably won't be Elincia. I'm guessing she will be Wind. I hope they eventually release a flying staff Elincia with art like her festival version. I still want festival Elincia and Micaiah. (Xander's dance was funny too.)

Yeah, takes half as much effort to get S Support back if you've done it already. Myrrh is an excellent choice for it.

    1 hour ago, XRay said:

If you plan to use Myrrh as your super tank or carrier, then I would go with Myrrh.

    1 hour ago, XRay said:

Reinhardt is too slow to double Myrrh unless Reinhardt is +Spd and Myrrh does not have any buffs. Reinhardt just hits super hard, and Myrrh cannot really afford to run anything else other than Iote's Shield. Since her skill set is pretty much unchangeable from her standard optimum set, the only other way to make her survive Reinhardt is to increase her stats directly (via buffs, Light Blessing with Eir on the team, and permanent stat boosts [Dragonflowers, merges, Summoner Support, etc.]) or debuff Reinhardt.

Now that I think about it, I don't think it could have been a quad attack, because I don't remember Myrrh getting a chance to counter attack in between. Moonbow and buffs are still rough though.

I gave Myrrh Summoner Support and the Warding Stance seal. (I haven't seen many archers in AR except Bow Lyn.) I used Azura to give +6 to all stats and had Lyon with his Drive Res for an additional +3. I tried two maps today. She took out Ophelia on the first one, and easily cleared out three units on the second.

I didn't lose any units and was able to get one Aether pot on each of the maps. I probably could have gotten some some extra pots if Lyon had something other than Ardent Sacrifice... He now has Swap. Lyon is also pretty decent with +10 to all stats (+4 from bonus, +6 from Azura), Triangle Adept, and the Quick Reposte seal. His special is Vengeance which isn't very good. I need to give him something better.

I use bunny ears! White on Drawby and the summertime one on Smitey.

I used a mask on one and a bright headband on another. No more getting them mixed up. :):

    1 hour ago, XRay said:

M!Corrin, +Atk is great. It would help him fight Surtr more effectively. Ally Support definitely works in Aether Raids.

I guess I could promote him. I'm not short of swords, but he is a bit different. He could boost Myrrh even further...

    1 hour ago, XRay said:

You just need to Dance/Sing the Counter-Vantage unit to get rid of the Panic debuff from Aversa, and if you are using VS!Azura with her default Atk Tactic, you can simply put the Counter-Vantage unit one space away and still get the buff.

That's true. If I find a map with mostly ranged units, I could try it out without having to spend Close Counter.

Because Distant Counter and Distant Def 4 exist.

Of course those would be awesome seals too. :): If Steady Stance 4 were available as a seal, a Guard seal could still be useful since seals are only on one unit at a time.
