  1. Are Marth's thighs sexy? I suppose men can answer too.
  2. Essentially he can only be attacked by one enemy each turn. Broken? Perhaps, but I think his HP and Defense totals are low enough that it wouldn't take much more than a single enemy to take him down in a lot of cases.
  3. Well yeah, Mages under the classic system are obviously going to be the norm. But I'm just shit shooting here. I personally would like them to try something like the Gaiden approach again.
  4. Why was he even in the game then? As opposed to Ike or Eliwood?
  5. So Gaiden had HP draining spells, and Shadows of Valentia expanded it with HP draining skills. It's all pretty cool and stuff, but I find that it has the down side of being pretty negligible at a certain point. HP recovery items and equipment are so wide spread, which is good, you need a way to recover your ability to use these things mid battle, but then you also get things like fortify and tile recovery and stuff and at some point only the truly absurd HP costs actually matter. At least, that's in my experience, I barely ever have to worry about the HP costs. But if recovering HP was more limited, then using spells would be outright unfeasible and also useless. So then the question arises, what about an MP system like almost every other game out there? MP being separate to HP would mean recovering HP doesn't outright nullify the system, Auto HP recovery could be a more useful and limited skill, in a way making HP more valuable by making it less useful. At least, that's the way I'm thinking. What do you think? Would this fix some of the problems with Gaiden's system? Do you even think it has problems? Or do you think the HP cost is a bit more unique and an MP system would make the series a little too samey to the rest of gaming.
  6. He's pretty popular with the Japanese fan base. Mystery of the Emblem was out and out the best selling game by a long mile until 3DS changed everything. Either him or Anna. Only Fire Emblem character to actually be part of the plot in Heroes (for a given definition of plot). Well...this one. Marth is in the game. He's plastered up there on the box, center stage. Him and his allies are in the game, an honor not given to any other character featured in a pre2013 game. Not even most-popular-guy ever-Ike is in the game (although Lyn managed to make it in some how). Whether it be popularity or OG respect, Marth has been highlighted in this very game and among all the main lords in the series, he alone would be acceptable to lead the game without being considered unfair or strange (although someone suggested some kind of Tempest Trials thing with Lucina earlier, she's popular enough and not close enough to the main protagonist spot in Awakening that she might just be able to pull something like that off. By that I mean if they focus on some kind of world hopping plot then they could make a "Lucina game" without it being seen as an "Awakening game".)
  7. Jedah moveset. Initially just wanted to do something with an Armoured Mage as I was speculating in the Who deserves to be in the game thread, but I came up with a pretty interesting unit by porting his exclusive skills over from Shadows of Valentia. Jedah: Duma's Will (Blue Tome, Armoured)
  8. Huh, that's an article I've never seen before. Thanks for sharing. With those kind of names in consideration, it's even more baffling that Kaga thought he could get away with "Emblem Saga." Which I suppose he kind of did in the end, some how.
  9. Exactly my train of thought. I wouldn't object to it being a brave weapon and a dragon slayer, but the most important thing is to get a blue dragon slaying weapon on the field, the fact that it doesn't have that effect in Thracia is pretty ancillary (so long as it shares the same name as the common dragon slaying spear in the series, which I think it does but it's Japanese so who knows? Eckesachs doesn't have distant counter so it's not as weird as that at any rate).
  10. I think is first tier wasn't, but his promtoed class was. Not that it makes a massive amount of difference as there's few if any armour slaying enemies in the game. He doesn't get a point of move upon promotion though.
  11. Regarding interesting class or weapon combos, I think the following characters should get in (and yes, almost all of them stand no real chance for the foreseeable future). *Yukimura for Knife Cavalry *Reina for Flying Bow (yeah we already have Hinoka, but more variety is needed, Hinoka can remain in the five star pool and Reina can fill out the four star). *Emperor Alvis for Armoured Red Mage (once again, we have Christmas Tharja, but more variety would be welcome). *Reptor or Bloom for Armoured Blue Mage. *There's no notable armoured wind or light mage in the series, so I'd retool Jedah as an Armoured Green Mage (he looks bulky enough to be classes as an armoured, it might break the whole Red Tomes=Dark Magic idea, but Gaiden has Black Magic, not dark magic, good enough distinction for me. Plus they could do something interesting with his damage evasion ability). *Xavier for Armoured Bows. *Elphin on a horse for Mounted Refresher (yes he doesn't come on a horse in his own game, but he allegedly fell of a horse once and that's good enough justification for me). *Rudolf for either armoured Falchion user or mounted Falchion user. *Duma for Armoured Red Breath. *Nagi with a breath weapon that deals effective damage to dragons (Divine Dragons have effective damage in Archanea and Elibe games, Nagi also comes with a Falchion so she seems the perfect choice, plus Tiki and Fae are already in the game). Preferably a Blue Breath unit as we're missing that from dragon slaying weapons. *Dean from Thracia 776 with the Dragonpike as another blue dragon slaying alternative.
  12. Oh wow, you can get him off the throne. I guess that's why it's a rout map despite having a throne. I never knew that.
  13. That's a valid concern, it might be a little odd, but I'd still rather Eirika and Ephraim were in the game. Even if they got in a lone without any other Sacred Stones characters. I suppose the two of them are separated from their kingdom pretty early in the story, it's only after the Fates "arc" do they get back at which point one or two Sacred Stones characters could be introduced to represent the game. It's a joke. You might not have noticed, but the bulk of your content on this site seems to be showing up and expressing vehemently negative opinions about things.
  14. Would the opera count as a concept more than a material thing? You think Fates is bad, in Genealogy of the Holy War it's tact on after the final boss is defeated, depending on your marriage options, referenced for the first time on an object we never get to see and doesn't even use the conventional name for the series (sort of like the Emblem of Flame more so than the Fire Emblem).
  15. You mean I'm not meant to level them up to 20 as soon as I can and then bench them for half the game! For reals, play the game twice and do both. Arbitrary systems for going to alternate maps are stupid, but alternate maps are still nice.
  16. So what are you saying? You think a sizable portion of the profit base would outright refuse to buy the game if Eirika and Ephraim were on the boxart as opposed to two characters they'd never heard about before? People are critical about the game (there's not a single game in the series that a vocal number of people in the fanbase aren't heavily critical of), but it's no where near that decisive. Now that being said, I don't think having Eirika and Ephraim on the cover would actually change sales all that much, the majority of the people who would appreciate it would probably buy the game regardless. But I don't think it would hurt the sales in any major way among the people who don't know or don't care who they are. What it would really come down to is whether the character designs of Eirika and Ephraim are more aesthetically pleasing to the masses when compared to that of Rowan and Lianna. And I wouldn't even begin to hazard a guess as to whether they are or not.
  17. There's nothing wrong with the TMS Designs, but it just confuses me why you'd even have a cross over when you basically make the characters unrecognizable. Like, they could have changed the names of everyone except Tiki in Tokyo Mirage Sessions and no one would ever guess it was Fire Emblem inspired (for the plot at any rate, the Weapon Triangle worked well for the combat). Having each game have it's playable plot would have been really great. What that would entail though is a much more sizable roster to fill out each plot line. And you know what, that totally would have been possible. They should have just made clones all over the place like they do for all the Gharnef villains in the main campaign, Lianna/Rowan, the two flying movesets they have four or five characters use. Clone movesets every where. Have it so the game basically has a roster of about 12 classes and then give us a full Fire Emblem sized cast with variance in characters arising from unique skills and weapons. Do away with the crest system that we've seen in other warriors games and make it so the crests are automatically part of characters. So like Fredrick can full his Awakening gauge quicker while Lex gets a longer time to deplete weakness meters. The differences would seem very small but would actually have a pretty big impact for tweaking how exactly you want to play a class (people would no doubt decry it as a lazy roster, but at the same time, just like Budokai Tenkaichi 3, people would adore it).
  18. Let's examine such a roster. Purely lords + other major characters with diverse weapons. That would give a roster with eleven sword users (with Celica being a tome user and Lyn being a bow lord, purely for the purpose of equipping items, they could still use swords in their moveset like Robin does in the base game), three lance users, two axe users, two bow users, four tome users and one dragon stone user, for a total roster of 22 (and 8/22 females). Base game has 23 characters, including DLC its 32 (13/23 and 16/32 female, excluding the avatar alts. You could frame the pre dlc roster as 10/23 men). So if we assume some of the lesser known lords could be worked as DLC then we're looking at eleven more spots that could be filled with the likes of females and non sword users. Workable, if one is prepared to accept the likes of Leif and Eliwood as DLC.
  19. Well the Demon King wouldn't necessarily have to replace Velezark, but in the same vein, there is absolutely no reason at all for Velezark to be an original dragon. Like even less reason than Lianna and Rowan. Just stick the name Medeus on him like Tokyo Mirage Sessions did (and that game didn't care enough about the franchise to even maintain the character designs!). Or even Grima if you want to push Awakening. Hell I would have even accepted Anankos (though of course Loptyr would have been the best option as that would have actually worked as some form of explanation as to what happened to his body). It's not like Velezark ever even tries to do anything other than be a big scary dragon. Rowan and Lianna at least speak and are characters albeit undeveloped ones.
  20. Well if you're looking for feedback, then without even watching the video I'm going to say try to be more succinct, or if that's impossible, at least break it into several parts. Because an hour long video is not going to draw in a massive audience.
  21. Well it's more popular and relevant than the nonexistance they pulled Lianna and Rowan from. Maybe they were expecting the two to become popular characters and launch a Warriors series, but I don't think they've really captured the hearts of anyone. And then what do you mean by lame? As in not an exciting unit in terms of moveset potential? Or just not an interesting character to your subjective tastes? Because if we're going down that road, then for me most of all the characters that got in are lame compared to a hypothetical Jugdral Wars that will never happen. And are Lianna and Darios really any better than Eirika and Lyon? Oh really, they redesigned them? That description doesn't sound anything like the Heroes Lords though. Unless Anna is meant to be the older sister. Do you have a link to any images of the earlier designs?
  22. I certainly wouldn't object to that but Heroes came out only half a year before Warriors, so I can see them not really knowing about Alfonse and Sharena during development (their designs are barely different to the extent that they probably could have gotten away with just renaming the characters and country).
