  1. I like the idea of armoured mages, but I'm not so sure if there's any use on making a Tier 1 version of the class. Especially when two of its three promotion options aren't armoured (or at least currently). Have you decided base move values for them? Because if BattleMage is going from 4 move to 9 when promoting to Malig Knight, then that's kind of insane. Also, if Baron is going to be a dual physical/magic class, I'd suggest having it promote from Knight as well as mage.
  2. Oh. I thought you meant they should have stayed true to Final Fantasy X's gameplay.

  4. I felt I could only get invested in the story once it became the bizarre dinosaur robot war with a time travelling city. For much of the game I felt the reason for being anywhere was incredibly poorly justified due to the player party having basically no identity or clear motivations. Because Serge is both a silent protagonist and the large cast meant none of them were really significant in any way. It resulted in the party having no solid response or opinion on any of the stuff that was happening. Leaving it as just some figure telling me to go to a certain place for a reason I didn't really care about (and despite the world map being so small, I frequently had difficulty trying to figure where anything was, which I guess was a testament to how little I was immersed). It could just be the way I played the though (namely always being an unrelenting dick to Kid at any opportunity), as they seemed to want to have multiple different optional routes and dungeons you can take, yet still resulted in the same destination, which can result in getting there being really contrived and unclear. Regarding the characters, it also didn't help that most of them vanish from your party half way through the game. I initially thought this was good as I expected to re-recruit them again, but nope, they just ceased to exist until a certain point in the story where they all unceremoniously rejoin you. Made them feel more like Pokemon than actual people.
  5. Oh yeah, this one hit hard for me. I knew a lot of people didn't like it, but I assumed that was just because it was different to Chrono Trigger, but it legitimately has a lot of problems. Particularly how ridiculously esoteric and contrived the plot is. The gameplay is good, particularly during boss fights, but the way leveling works and how easy it is to auto heal at the end of battles meant that most standard encounters involved mashing A to just mindlessly attack as much as possible until the fight is over. The Fire Emblem sized cast also didn't really help matters much. It works in this series where you can field a dozen units at once, but when you can only experiment with two at a time (because Serge is always locked), it doesn't really work.
  6. If that's all legit, then the only thing I can think of is that we'll be seeing some pretty popular third party characters. Because as far as Nintendo characters go, there's not really a wide selection of really obvious choices. There's a load of really obscure or esoteric characters that are important to small groups, but nothing that could confidently wow a large crowd by including (except maybe Ridley, and for as many he'd wow, there'd be just as many he'd disappoint, until they play him).
  7. You're meant to use it with Lunge to effectively warp around the place and bring dangerous enemies into more convenient places.

  9. Haha. I completely agree. In fact, I'd just added it to my list of notes to disclose at the end. I think just giving it a tonne of weight (right now it doesn't even weight Orceil down at all) would do the trick. It'd also serve to make it riskier to use as he'd have a higher chance of getting doubled after using it.
  10. Well Beelzebub said using him as a sock puppet (like Lewyn), I imaging if Lewyn was the subject he would have said using him as a sock puppet to date girls (like Lewyn). Though phrasing it that way would also make it look like Lewyn is one of the girls.
  11. Harsh, but if you want your dragon gods gone, effective. What are you basing that on? One of his last pieces of dialogue in the game is him trying to convince Ishtar not to get herself killed. Like sure, he doesn't show any particular interest in Ishtar when he goes full dragon in his death quote, but it's hardly strange that he doesn't given she's dead at that point, he's dying and it's over in less than ten seconds.
  12. More people in the world than the playable cast? Ah, so you ship Sanaki and the 3-13 Archer. Of course!
  13. You ever finish The Last Story? Because I agree that it's a pretty disappointing game over all, but I thought it had a fantastic final boss. I think those flaws are genuinely large enough to outright call it a bad game. The only thing I found enjoyable in it was trying to get to new mining points and setting up chains to make them the most effective. I could see how the gameplay could be fun for some people, but for me it just seemed too samey and the difficulty in healing really irked me.
  14. That depends entirely on the character of his half brother. It's possible he might have executed Jesse as a threat if he ascended, and Jesse's position was either depose his brother or run away to survive.
  15. Managed to do it first try with Keena, though I never would have put her out there at such risk if I wasn't comfortably safe with a save state. RNG has been pretty unkind to me. I've since promoted Breyett to Ranger and my highest speed is now 20. Also got some lucky level ups on Tayli who's sitting at 17 speed and yet to promote.
  16. Okay that Hero in Chapter 11, the one on the Colloseum, he's ridiculously fast. Like 23 speed. For comparison, my sword master only has 14 speed, that's the highest in my army (tied with Derruk who's still only a Mercenary, but has amazing speed). That's enough to double any unit in my army three times over. And it's not like he's particularly weak in any other regard, hitting with 31 atk. Even his resistance is great. I have three turns to beat him with basically my entire army and I'm legitimately unsure if I can reliably do it. I think my only option is to use save states and try and rig a crit with Shamshir (Keena faces a 27 hit rate against him, which is good for dodge tanking, but still comes with the considerable risk of having to start the entire map again. Plus she's only doing nine damage so she needs at least two crits to beat him, and once again, she's being doubled, not doubling which is kind of Sword Master's thing). And this guy doesn't even have a face!
  17. It can't be one of your favorite games of all time. All time hasn't happened yet.
  18. That does not bode well for me, as Xenoblade Chronicles X was the most disappointing game I've ever played. Had such high hopes for that title but it was so incredibly underwhelming. Tokyo Mirage Sessions is a game I really wanted to like more than I did. The gameplay was great, but the story was just so disinteresting for me.
  19. Sensing no danger, Constance's mind changed from a state of alertness to one of haste. She pushed past Nelon and knelled beside the dying man. This seems beyond my abilities. That magic elixir would come in handy right now. Perhaps I can at least dull the pain long enough for him to find peace. She took out a herb from inside her robes and practically forced it into his mouth. She then began healing his legs with her mend staff.
  20. Well, they should at least castrate him, just in case. It seems the local populace are not ignorant to the fact that Loptyr has returned. However, according to Oifey, most suspect Alvis is the super villain running things. August in Thracia 776 believes Julius is Loptyr though, so I'd say there's a large amount of Alvis defenders who place the blame on Julius.
