  1. I've just noticed how odd it is that absolutely everyone that traveled back in time just happened to be related to the first gen...Like the entire world was put to the sword and everyone had to fight or get wiped out. Isn't it hugely coincidental that nobody that was unrelated to Chrom's group made any head way and was included on the mission back in time? Did Lucina have some kind of strict nepotism rule for joining her group? "You're only allowed in the inner circle if you're related to the following people;" The closest we get is Yen'fay, who is a sibling to one of the army members, instead of a child, and he's only relegated to Spot Pass at the very end of the game. And I believe everything is done to imply that his presence in the world is completely incidental to Lucina's efforts given he doesn't have any interactions with the other time travelers and doesn't appear in future past (which begs the question, how did he end up coming to the present, and why doesn't he look twenty years older?)
  2. What would make sense? Disguising themselves? As pointed out already, they have absolutely no reason to disguise themselves when travelling to a location where absolutely no one has any chance of recognizing them. And it's not even like it was there idea to do it because they thought they were going to somewhere in their world. Anankos, who knows he's taking them to a different dimension (or the past or something) is the insists on disguising them.
  3. Garon actually makes a really good point when the game basically calls foul on the fact that his Dragon form comes out of nowhere. Corrin can transform into a dragon, why not Garon? They're both descended from dragons after all. Of course then you play Revelation and learn that Corrin's lineage is much closer to dragons than the watered down royal families, but taken in isolation, Garon turning into a dragon in Birthright makes sense...it's not choreographed or foreshadowed in any way.
  4. It doesn't really make sense to disguise themselves in universe, but out of universe it was kind of necessary to not canonize any pairings. That and it makes their appearances distinct between two games.
  5. "A ship that size could create a ferocious blaze, especially so close to the dock." True enough, Constance thought. Not that there's much of this town to burn down. But he's right, it would be exceedingly dangerous. We should figure out what's on the ship before committing to any rash actions. At that moment, the eerie cry echoed from the ship. Constance looked to Claire, waiting to see what she would do.
  6. Hmm, you're right, they don't mention it when Amy shows up in Part 4 like I thought. Still, they made her adopted rather than actually be Largo and Callil's child, and I can only assume that was done for a reason.
  7. Callil's daughter survived because she's branded.
  8. There is in my copy of the game. #superiorEuropeanTranslation
  9. Yeah, but when it comes to blood relation, I don't think yaoi makes all that big a difference. After all, the whole reason blood related incest is a bad idea is due to potential birth defects. Not to imply incest would otherwise be fine, it's not, as there's an inevitable power imbalance in a relationship with people who grew up together, but like, Fates already broke the social taboo with the regular Corrin shipping, so it's not really worse than that.
  10. Meh. The game already let's you ship siblings. Taboo is already broken.
  11. I could also see them maybe getting 3 range, like Lightning in Gaiden. Or hell, maybe even exclusive access to the siege tomes.
  12. I don't see what's strange about that. What exactly is the implication of Daydream meant to be?
  13. Apparently FE4 actually has a completely predetermined rng system, as in, if from the very first turn of the game, you perform the exact same actions, you'll always get the exact same results on every playthrough. At least, I believe I heard that somewhere.
  14. Byron! I really like his design, but in terms of the plot, he just ends up being generic dead father, which Fire Emblem has so much of (to this day Roy is the only character who ends the game with his father alive). Sure, if he joined, he'd end up dying in the barbecue anyway, but it would have been fun to play around with him for Chapter 5. He's a Master Knight after all. And he could potentially wield Tyfring (though narratively he should still give it to Sigurd leaving only cheating the game to give it to him). Think about it, nothing would actually change if you let him survive. It would have just been one less kick in the teeth for Sigurd. Plus, he'd have some great conversations with Langbolt and Reptor. Aside from him, I think it's a shame Elise wasn't recruitable in Birthright. The fact that she wasn't even though in terms of the plot she was, gave me major warning flags that she was going to die. They gave you Scarlet for a map in Revelations, why not do the same for Elise? Some people would probably complain about wasting EXP on her, but I think it'd be cool.
  15. So what are you saying? That the 0-99% hit rate shouldn't be a thing? Yeah, I agree, I'm sure almost everyone agrees, it's what X-Naut originally stated. It doesn't stop Linoan using Nosferatu from being great though.
  16. What Tigerstance does is add Skill to your Attack to deal a tonne of extra damage. So theoretically, who ever has the best skill should use it as they'll deal the most damage. Practically speaking, however, any of your Dreadfighters should be dealing enough damage to one shot anyone that isn't Dragon Shield Jedah.
  17. Try and forge a Zweihander. It gives the skill Tigerstance which on something like a dread fighter, will kill absolutely anything. Forging your silver bow into a Killer Bow can also net you Hunter's Volley, which will basically kill anything, but from a great distance! Alternatively, if you're struggling because you're getting overwhelmed, I suggest trying to get your hands on a Longbow (forge a Steel Bow). That has a skill that immobilizes enemies, essentially taking them out of combat for a turn. I don't remember anything about the map specifically to give any strategies, as I don't remember having any trouble with it, but considering most of your units have reached third tier, you seem to be doing pretty well.
  18. So what are you saying? That if a character has a 1% chance of missing, they're immediately useless? If that's the case, I don't know why you're even playing the Fire Emblem series, as outside of Heroes, the rng is a central part of the game design in every game.
  19. Oh no, Thracia is so much worse when it comes to blind playing than FE4. You might miss the Hero Axe or Pursuit Ring in that game, and potentially not pair every female character, but the game is still perfectly beatable without them. Thracia will throw things at you that just can't be anticipated and absolutely will force you to reset several chapters.
  20. Half-assed isn't the right way to describe it. It's certainly odd (and in a remake I think it should be some kind of alternate promotion rather than a standard mage to sage), but it's not like it would have been difficult to have Linoan promote like everyone else. And it is definitely a boon more than anything else. As Shrimperor points out, it means you don't have to use a promotion item on her. And as far as promotions go, it's crazy good with some of the best stat gains in the series. We're talking +6 magic, +5 speed and skill. In a game where the caps are 20. It's taking her a quarter of the way there. Just look at her average stat growths https://serenesforest.net/thracia-776/characters/average-stats/linoan/ She's capping all her vital stats from level 20 on wards. Which means you can easily use a scrolls to increase her shaky defense without fear of it ruining any of her other stats. Put simply, Linoan, like almost everyone else in Thracia, is an amazing unit if you give her the time of day. The biggest downside of her plot based promotion is that she might not reach level 20 before it since you only have about four chapters to train it before it comes, but like I said earlier, those promotion gains are so amazing, she'd probably still be really good if you didn't train her at all.
  21. Holy Water/Barrier and the late game magic tiles are also pretty amazing
