  1. This is only sort of relevant but I'm slightly annoyed the main site uses the subtitle for all games until Fates onwards where 'Fire Emblem' is also in the title. What I mean, is this: I would suggest just calling them 'Fates', 'Shadows of Valentia', 'Heroes' and 'Warriors.' I understand why the Switch game is titled as it is but for the others it's annoying. I know this is a nitpick but still.
  2. How uncommon are Jake and Beck? Not one or the other but both at the same time. Because they've both been in my team every single time.
  3. First off, I quite enjoyed the patch and it really made me appreciate the game and its story more to the point that I went from neutral to loving this game. So thanks for your work. I want to ask you about some rather significant differences in events in the old patch and your patch. Let's use one example of Richard and Tia in the end game.
  4. I just finished my second playthrough and I thoroughly enjoyed TRS. I agree with Miacis in that looking up guide for the management decisions and character recruitment is recommended. Unlike the more recent games, you often need specific characters to recruit others. The thing is, and this is a very, very mild spoiler about game mechanics: which may make recruitment harder. Also, a general recommendation, if you see shops that sell door keys and bridge keys, then buy that shit, especially the former. Also, I only say this because there's no way you'd know otherwise but there's a indoor chapter next with a really strong generic enemy. And I do mean generic since he's wearing a helmet. One look at him and his stats and you'll know something is up. He's recruitable with Runan.
  5. Duma is based heavily on the Carcohl. Don't know if anyone's pointed that out yet. People go looking for similarities to dragons but once you read the article I linked, it becomes extremely obvious that the Carcohl was the main inspiration for Duma. Here's a small post I made on reddit comparing the Carcohl with Duma using pictures. Hopefully, it stays that way because it would suck to lose such a unique and obscure inspiration for an enemy.
  6. I'm no chapter 2-5 Fear. Map objective is to defeat this guy called Gaulgus. Done that. Nothing happens after that. Eventually the turncount runs out and Game Over. Edit: Nevermind, silly me. Bram has to seize. But then why is the map objective listed as "Defeat Gaulgus" and nothing more both during the chapter and in the Status Screen?
  7. I did it with Robin both times I played for added spite.
  8. Not when they sound like psychopaths that enjoy so much murder. As for adding personality, all they do is reinforce that one lone gimmick they have.
  9. What is the general opinion on the Critical Cut-ins? And all the talking during fights. Because I hate all of that. The quotes especially.
  10. I love Shadow Dragon's art style. But my favourite character art is for FE5. Simple and functional all of it. FE8's art is also amazing. I don't like Kozaki though. And the current art director I like even less.
  11. Shadow Dragon has the best quotes. It has the best localisation. Marth realises the sacrifices he must make. Marth flees Altea filled with shame. Nyna confronts Horace. Marth forces himself to put aside his personal gried. The quality of the writing plays a huge part in why Shadow Dragon is my favourite game in the series. Even if the amount of writing is less (or perhaps because it is less), the writing that is present is of top quality.
  12. As mentioned before, Gunter. And also, technically, Takumi is 2 times if you count his initial possession in Birthright and then whatever Iago does.
  13. Having a Sniper as a final boss means nothing when the boss is a stationary target with 1-2 (1-4 but you get my point) range. Especially with the new weapon triangle, aside from very specific weapons, he may as well have been an Axe user, which is exactly what the preceeding boss is. You don't get points for having a unique boss when you not only fail at utilizing the uniqueness but completely destroy what makes the class unique in the first place. The only good thing about the final boss is the aoe wave attack and that's not tied to his class. For me at least, he would have been a much better boss if they took away his ability to hit at 1 range, allowed him to move, gave him Pass and perhaps Counter. That way you're forced to fight him on his terms.
  14. The Sable Order map was cut in Book 1 so reusing it as a Book 2 chapter wasn't that big of deal then.
  15. India is currently governed by a hard right wing, Hindu nationalist party. And by most accounts, it is doing better than when it was governed by the other, centre-left party. I voted for the second one. Keep in mind that the second party is the Indian National Congress. It was founded during British Rule and was the de facto leader of the independence movement for a good 40+ years at least. They've held power for pretty much all of India's independence. Only 4 or 5 terms have not had the INC as part of the government. You would think that a party with so much history would not be defeated. Yet in the 2014 election, they got their ass to handed to them. Usually in recent years, due to the number of parties in India, no single party can get the necessary majority to lead government, resulting in political alliances between parties. Not in 2014. The right wing hindu nationalist party, Bhartiya Janata Party completely dominated. This was the result of the left getting arrogant and generally being mired in controversary and scams involving powerful ministers. Not even the Prime Minister was free from serious scam accusations (not baseless accusations either). Point is, the left got arrogant after so many years in power. The second point is that our country has not gone to shit because a right wing party holds power.
  16. I too am heavily disappointed with the direction of the series. Most of my disatisfaction has to do with the story. They're just... terrible. Irredeemably awful in Conquest and Revelation's case and just plain awful in Awakening and Birthright's case. It's like IS is just writing the story as they go along. Things just happen. We seem to visit locations just for the sake of visiting exotic locations, not because it suits the story.
  17. One time, I left Sylvia unpaired and I was unable to pair Seliph and Julia. Don't know if you actually need to pair everyone in the first gen or it was the result of some other variable I missed but there you go.
  18. I'm no American. But how bad of a candidate do you have to be to lose to Trump?
  19. Hmm, so this manga ages down Seliph? It says he's 17. Yet the timeskip itself is 17 years and Seliph was born nearly 2 years before.
  20. Hector's tale has a few problems. If you pair Lyn with Hector, the dialogue between Hector and Oswin loops once. The first time, it's Hector, Oswin, Matthew and Serra in the scene. The second time, Kent is there and Serra is not (presumbly, this is the dialogue in the even that Serra is paired off with Erk). Kent doesn't actually turn up in the chapter. Lyn's there as she should. But Lyn gets no dialogue in the beginning and not even at the end of that chapter. Also, if you do pair Serra with Erk, the dialogue at the start doesn't have Kent (which I'm guessing it should since he replaces her as a unit). Also, is Jaffar supposed to be in part 2 of Karel's tale if you dpn't air him with Nino? The monster that used to be there still shows up in the final part but the connection between those parts is now gone.
  21. Yep, Montresor apparently has better things to do. Also, Heath is unrecruitable? And when he dies, Priscilla pops up out of nowhere. They're not even paired together...
  22. Fuck that stupid memefrog. Pikachu deserved better after that amazing performance.
