  1. Yep, no lore tid bits, all well, back to hoping for DLC in the corner of my mind.
  2. Do all characters development? of course, a sizable amount of the cast should have development, but as long as the characterisation is good, what's the problem? Speaking as someone who likes Rapheal. That aside, I think each character's general arc is covered in their supports with Byleth, and then expanded in other supports, the exception being, of course, the Also, Three Hopes helps the characters a lot, but that just makes the problem more apparent in Three Houses.
  3. Shez and Marianne for me, Shez for reasons that have been made abundantly clear, Marianne because I like her personal ability and she's my favourite character.
  4. Is anyone else hoping he'll say something important to his origins?
  5. I think this has definitely been an improvement over Ice and Flame, I was worried at part 3, but Eir's development here has left me satisfied with the whole thing, I don't even mind if it stumbles a little in the next two parts, though I would like to see some depth with Ganglot and ascended/rearmed Thrasir. Still it's great to see Eir grow.
  6. I'm worried about another rushed ending, we still have both Elm and Embla to deal with, everyone needs to make peace with Bruno's death, there's Veronica's political status, and the Askr and Embla (kingdoms) conflict, unless they do more than a post-battle and single cutscene after the end, I don't see the ending fitting everything.
  7. One thing of note, in Azure Gleam, Myson asks Shez how he was the power of Epimenidies, but then seems to realise something, saying, "Unless, his core!" So maybe Epimenidies has something like a crest stone.
  8. I think Feh was meant to incite mystery, her wording is "maybe he got it from Ganglot," it shows uncertainty, just like how she also wonders where Thrasir is.
  9. Are we all just ignoring the heavy metal Elephant in the room? Though I think I can guess everyone's thoughts: "Cool, Lif getting more attention" "Eir got shafted in her own story" "I love this" "This is cringe" Or any combination of the above.
  10. Well, if Thorr doesn't count, the quota "Ice and Flame" for new/ascended characters had been set and if Thorr does count, then I hope we see ascended Thrasir. Ganglot's speech to Lif was interesting; Ganglot is asserting dominance over Lif, but if it is the same Lif that's with the Gods, then I'd imagine he's already ten steps ahead.
  11. True, but the Guardians are also a well known image for BotW, even people who haven't played the game recognise it, but that doesn't apply for anyone here, except maybe Anna.
  12. The Documents in the game add a whole lot of information; there are documents giving details on all the different Fodlan territories like prevalent industries, trade, and geography, there's letter that confirms who Claudia (the one mentioned in the shadow Library) married, War accounts, a letter from Glenn, information on Maurice etc. Nothing major, but it a considerable amount of world building, which is always appreciated.
  13. So, are just going to ignore all the living parents for the sake of the joke? Eh, why not. That aside, Askr's death has more impact after only two chapters compared to Nott who had eight or so chapters; I'd say the writing has improved, even if they're using the same tropes. One this I noticed with the fruit is how it relies on the desire of whoever eats it, so maybe if Veronica wants to die, that might complicate things, after all, we're certainly going to fight Embla directly in the Final Chapter, of course, if Veronica did want to die, the power of friendship will convince her otherwise; we've already met our good guy death quota.
  14. In terms of the crests of the elites having Sacred weapons story wise, wasn't that also a thing in Three Houses, specifically the sword with Riegans crest you get from Mascuil's paralogue? I'd imagine they weren't made for the elites themselves, but for their families that surrendered to Adrestia.
  15. I like that the goal this time is more than just "beat the bad guy", and the possibility is opened for more characters and world building, but now I'm getting the impression Ganglot is simply a bad guy for the sake of a bad guy to beat up at the end, I'm happy to be wrong, of course.
  16. Don't forget, it was the Empire that proposed the alliance with Leicester; what do you think would've happened if Claude turned down the Empire? And I don't think making the Federation itself was a mistake; it makes Leicester more stable in a time of great change, and it makes a treaty with Almyra easier to arrange, it's just Claude himself that was at fault.
  17. I believe the creation of the Federation showed Claude's lack of faith in his friends, which was emphasised in the story, especially in chapter 9; at the creation of the Federation, the round table consisted of Claude, Lorenz, Holst, Count Ophelia, and Count Edmund, Claude has Lorenz and Holst's personal trust and support, which is enough to get him a majority vote, yet he still felt the need to create the Federation. For example he probably thought the Alliance with the Empire wouldn't be allowed by the round table, and he might not be wrong, but that shows how little faith he actually put in his friends at the time. Some people have mentioned how the early closing of the Acadamy affected his character development, and I think this makes it clear; in Three Houses, he trusts Dimitri or Edelgard enough to hand over the Alliance, knowing they would accept an alliance with Almyra. But in Three Hopes, he's adamant that Leicester remains independent, thinking that it needs to be for him to achieve his goals, but he does seem to trust his friends enough by the end to hand the Federation over to Lorenz. So, I don't think it's contradictory to Claude's development; his arc in this game is learning to place faith in others, and the creation of the Federation was the height of his lack of faith.
  18. WHAT SORT OF ALTERNATE TIMELINE HAVE I BEEN MOVED TO. Definitely agree there, of course there's also Fafnir. Still, glad we're getting him so quickly (guess this also means he's going to survive book 6, another win for men).
  19. Regardless of whether or not Rhea was open to discussion, I don't think Edelgard believes she was. And with Golden Wildfire, Also, while no one ever tries conversing with Rhea, We definitely needed more of Rhea in routes other than Azure Gleam though.
  20. Interesting (and blunt) take; I think you're right, after all, if there was a side that was completely in the right, then it's obviously the right side to choose. Edelgard's methods are questionable, Claude himself is questionable, Dimitri's methods take a long time, Rhea's goal is just the resurrection and glorification of Sothis by any means, and Thales is just crazed.
  21. I think it doesn't help that TWSITD have the least do with Leicester; the empire had the Insurrection of the Six, and the Kingdom had the Tragedy of Duscur, the most the Alliance had was the experiments in Ophelia territory, which didn't have nearly as much impact, nor was Claude affected. That being said, I think it fits that Claude is an outside player; giving him personal stakes doesn't fit the type of character he is. I'm in the camp that really liked Golden Wildfire, I get that some people wanted Almyra to have a bigger role, but I think it's satisfactory, especially with Claude's paralogue; the tricky thing with Almyra is that it doesn't directly tie in to the empire or TWSITD. I do think Nader needed a more vocal role though, he's with us for a good deal of part 2, but doesn't say much. I like this idea, but I think Rhea is opposed to the mixing of cultures (rather than people), lest people be turned away from the church, granted, the game doesn't explicitly say that. Also, not sure about the shipping tease, I actually prefer Dimitri with Marianne, though it occurred to me that if Claude married Hilda, Marianne and Lysithia, the only great house left would be Gloucester (*Lorenz sweats*).
  22. A couple things I noticed on my second playthrough of Azure Gleam Also, if we have a rough idea of Jeralt's age now (golden wind spoilers): weird how much important info is in mid-battle dialogue.
  23. It took quite a while for Age of Calamity's DLC to be announced, I believe it was... four? Months after the game released.
