  1. Yeah, it's not too difficult if you really want the thorron, it's just a little out of the way, that's all haha. You do have beat the reinforcements there though. There are a LOT of them that chapter. Axes do suck, but Barts' growths are some of the best in the game. He becomes strong and sturdy real quick, and cripples armor knights with his hammer. Just beware that he will become less and less useful as the game progresses. Either way, you're forced to deploy a lot of units anyway so you might as well bring him along to deal with armored dudes and lance scrubs. : P
  2. Pretty much anything that isn't using a sword, isn't promoted, or isn't a horseman or magic user is pretty slow hahah. For a while the game is a slow character's paradise! Thorron isn't buyable until the chapter 17 secret shop (which can be annoying to get to IMO), only a bit before the Bishop Ring in chapter 19.
  3. Actually Merric is pretty nice. He only needs +1 speed to double, which he will have a lot since fast enemies are rare until later in the game, where his 50% speed growth will give him a nice boost. Wendell has better stats early on, but he doesn't get any good tomes until Merric is about to promote. Wendell is definitely better overall, but Merric's excalibur gives a niche as a total enemy nuker for at least a while.
  4. yeah you should probably level him up a bit
  5. The healers aren't really worth leveling up in 1, hahaha. Wendell can fulfill most of your magic needs (8 defense magic user!) and you can either use Boah or train Merric later so you won't have to worry about leveling up a cleric to 10.
  6. lol, actually those are from the chapter's default RNs. I was one pick away from her too RAGE
  7. Nah, all of these are taken from Galeforce Emblem: Darkzilla and the Bomb of Light.
  8. Congrats. Your team looks like it turned out pretty good. Team Falconknight is hilarious against all of the monsters in the end. Also, your choice of Matilda (and Catria! : D) shows you have good taste. : P FE1 is decent, but it's quite a bit different from Gaiden. As an NES strategy game, it definitely has its flaws, but I still recommend at least giving the first few chapters a look. It's a, er, unique Fire Emblem experience! Hahahaha, really now? Wanna debate FE1 Marth against FE11 Sheeda?
  9. WOAH SOUNDS POWERFUL! Let's give it a test run! NO WAI! Oh, NOW you tell me he's immune to nuclear weapons. ;-;
  10. True, true. Fighting against maxed magic Swordmasters in wifi has taught me all I need to know about the zaniness of clock abuse. I guess you could say the RNG is not random in a literal sense, but unless you are actively manipulating the RNs, it is a de-facto randomness. The RNG used in the first three games has a very real impact that (especially in FE3) creates feast-or-famine stat gains in the level ups. Meanwhile, in the GBA games, you really have to go out of your way to manipulate the RNG. (With the exception of the initial preset RN string each chapter, haha)
  11. Hey, I thought this was supposed to be easy! >: ( 1. C 2. B 3. A 4. A 5. B 6. A 7. C 8. A 9. D 10. A
  12. Poor Aran. : ( They are quite the opposite of sucky! All of them range from useful to paramount, depending on the game and difficulty. Some of them fade more than others do, but fortunately you aren't forced to deploy them if they have already served their purpose.
  13. Phoenix Wright has been actively been getting various spinoffs and ports, so that is quite a misleading assertion. Advance Wars is a bit different than, say, Golden Sun or the Mother series. From the span of 2001-2008, Advance Wars had as consistent of a release schedule as the Fire Emblem series, and then stopped being produced abruptly. Game series come and go, but it feels there is a reason why IS has stopped producing Advance Wars games. It's not impossible, though! But just because companies like to keep some secrets does not necessarily mean IS is being candid about a new release.
  14. I wouldn't hold my breath on it. Advance Wars DS had lackluster sales in Japan, likely resulting in Days of Ruin never even being released there. As far as I know, IS does not release any games solely for the US/EUP markets. Advance Wars is a wonderful series. It stinks we haven't heard anything about a new one after an entire 5 year's wait. A revival is at least possible, but at this point the series is dead.
  15. Really I think the impact the media has on these court cases is actually fairly negligible. Iirc lots of people "knew" OJ Simpson was guilty and look how that one turned out. Really there are many larger and widespread that the US justice system that it's pretty negligible in comparison The sensationalism and defamation coming from the media is an issue though. For example, the Duke Lacrosse team's name will be tarnished forever and there was not a case against them to begin with! Also, the news' ability to put fabricated "scandals" through the echo chamber to cause actual change is concerning. (Andrew Breitbart, anyone?) A bit more accountability here and there would be nice. wat.
  16. It was kind of awesome in a really terrible way. I guess you just had to be there!
  17. sorry to interrupt this important debate guys but i felt it was neccessary that I post here
  18. What have I created? I dunno lol I was bored.
  19. It's not "against the rules" so much as it does not actually solve anything.
  20. I dunno man, that Zimmerman guy had issues with domestic violence he might be likely to start a fight too! Or, we can stop pretending we know the character of people we have never met and let the court decide what actually happened instead of speculating on what might have happened.
  21. Only a monster would do that. At least wash your hands and shake the water off on the way out, right?
