  1. It looks like the sprite sheets include multipurpose sprites one time per thing that uses them, which perplexes me a little, although I may just not know enough about programming to know why they did it that way. It is interesting to note, though, that there appears to be a weapon rank for... regular items? I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that the swirly one next to it is Grima's breath, but what's the little bag used for? I don't recall seeing it anywhere, so I'm thinking it's unused.
  2. ...have there been any attempts to hack Awakening yet? I ask because I'm very interested in seeing what sort of unused content might have been left in the game. I feel that since we had Eldigan and the six SpotPass paralogues as free "on-cartridge" DLC, it doesn't seem unlikely to me that there might be more content on the cartridge that could perhaps have been planned for such purposes, but was scrapped. Forgive me if this isn't something a new topic should be made over, but I'm fascinated by the possibilities of what unused content there could be, considering how many interesting things were lurking in the code of previous games.
  3. Probably alone here, but after getting a few of her S supports, I've resolved that Nah will be the one not to get married in any and all MaMU playthroughs from here on out. Her behaviors are unsettling and rather abusive towards her partner in all the S supports of hers I've gotten, and I really only want to make happy, healthy (admittedly, "by Awakening standards") couples, so...
  4. Hey, welcome! but why space out your username when you could change it to the portmantastic "Blucina" instead
  5. Hmm... You raise a good point. I want to work in that hopeless boss fight somehow but I'll need to rethink exactly where and when it would happen. As I said, though, these are all just rough ideas. Rough ideas unlikely to actually be acted on.
  6. The idea is that, the time gap between the Archanea-Valentia saga and Awakening being 2,000 years, the societies would likely have made significant technological advances in that time. Assuming they progressed at the same rate as real-world nations, considering where they already were they would actually have been ahead of our real-world technology, even back when Grima first appeared. That's basically my logic for that, really. I do concur that it's a departure from what's historically been in Fire Emblem, although in this case I really do think it could be made to work. The first exalt is really just my reply to people being pissed about Masked Marth not actually being Marth. He doesn't strictly NEED to exist I suppose.
  7. So, I had a few ideas about how to rewrite Awakening's plot to be less crap, and although a lot of them are still pretty vague and I've only made it through the first arc or so I'm gonna at least share them here anyway. Fair warning, the Grima and Masked Marth plotlines are changed significantly. And keep in mind that this is just my idea. You all can variously like or dislike it as you will. Firstly, the game would have a sort of more post-apocalyptic world, with ruins of the much more advanced societies of yesteryear scattered about the continents, although the course of technology was different from the real world's due to the presence of magic. (For example, mages and the like may have fired their spells from some sort of guns or something, and they may still!) The Risen would also probably actually be explained and still have ties to Grima, with some "Advanced" Risen actually being characters so the Risen chapters would no longer just be excuses not to have plot for a bit. Secondly, "Marth" would actually be two characters, one of them still Lucina, but the other, well... The plot would progress roughly as normal through to about Chapter 7, where the Hierarch (who would exist starting before that point and have an actual name and unique portrait) would instead survive (possibly slipping away in the chaos of the battle rather than being executed by Vasto at the start) and, rather than Emmeryn going back to Ylisstol like an idiot, would instead be captured as a result of the Hierarch (who would go on to be at the very least a miniboss, promoted to War Monk or most likely Sage by that point) ratting out her new position to the Plegians. Additionally, Emmeryn's sacrifice would likely be changed. Probably rather than just throwing herself off a cliff, she'd get in the way of something to save someone or... I don't know yet. Chapter 6's objective would be changed to "Defend Emmeryn for X turns" and Chapter's changed to "Escape OR Defeat Boss". Additionally, Olivia would be recruited upon completion of Chapter 10 rather than upon beginning Chapter 11. The concluding scene of what in the current game is Chapter 11 (not sure how the rewrites would affect chapter numbers) would be quite different. Instead of simply being supposedly killed in battle and that being that, Gangrel would instead flee into a nearby ruin complex, where Chrom and the Avatar give chase. Exploring the inside in search of their foe, they end up in a strange room with a several layers of broken, previously-securely-locked doors leading into a chamber containing a shattered tank, concluding with frustration that they've lost Gangrel's trail for the moment and starting to head back out of the building, before being cut off by a strange, dragonlike creature emanating "a terrifying pressure" or something, who attacks them in a playable hopeless (but non-Game Over-inducing) boss fight, after which the unconscious, badly-injured duo are found by Frederick and/or the Khans, who pursued them towards the ruins... considering his protectiveness, ol' Fred seems the more likely candidate for this, and Lissa probably tagged along as well. After the two are treated for their wounds, the timeskip transition would occur as normal. Perhaps there would be a couple of intermission chapters played as Gangrel before shifting focus back to Chrom and the Avatar. Gangrel would (quite begrudgingly on both ends) join up with the main group around the start of the Valm arc and serve as another Lord. Second Masked Marth would be the First Exalt, named for the legendary hero king (so he'd be called His Grace King Marth the Somethingth or... something) and Lucina's mentor from the future. He bears a strong resemblance to his namesake, save for striking red eyes (which are due to him as he appears in the story actually being reanimated as a Deadlord: Red is not his natural eye color). While Lucina wields the Parallel Falchion, the First Exalt carries Mercurius and is far stronger. He very well might be fought as a boss later, in which case (being essentially a Great Lord) he'd wield Gradivus which he'd drop upon defeat. He'd also most likely be a party member for a brief time, after which he'd entrust Mercurius to Lucina and Chrom. Some other ideas I had were Validar being descended from Merric and Elice and believing that this gives him claim to the Ylissean throne. He'd wield Excalibur, Goetia being Aversa's tome, and would drop it upon his final defeat. The "strange, dragonlike creature" is Grima, who was created during the war that ravaged the continent as a bioweapon to put a decisive stop to the fighting, which he accomplished a little TOO well, hence the state of the continent. Validar's and the Avatar's ties with him would be changed a bit and as such the choice during the end of the final chapter would be axed, along with the last arc being essentially entirely replaced with something else. Acquisition of Archanea's legendary weapons in general would be incorporated into the main story rather than strictly side content. A lot of these ideas are still rough, and I'm sorry about that. I hope I made enough sense voicing them, at least. [spoiler=Not really relevant but new character voice casting I guess]The Hierarch - Barry Yandell First Exalt - Spike Spencer or Johnny Yong Bosch Grima - Wendy Powell or Greg Ayres
  8. Question, did Morgan have pink hair during the fight/when viewing the team's stats? Or was it only pink on the Logbook card? Because the Logbook uses YOUR pairings to determine which hair color to display for children, even if it blatantly contradicts other pairings on the card. Children whose parents haven't been paired up yet will be shown with their mother's hair color, with the exception of Morgan and Yarne, whose hair/tuft color will be a weird hot pink color that doesn't appear anywhere else instead.
  9. Since for some reason a few posters here seem to be oblivious to implications, I'm almost completely sure that what's allegedly "in poor taste" is the fact that Tiki's little trivia tidbit is (at least being considered to be) essentially making a mockery of her traumatic experiences relating to sleep in Shadow Dragon and Mystery of the Emblem. In which case, while I think being sickened by it is perhaps a bit overdramatic a reaction, I do concur that it's... not a really good thing of them to have done.
  10. It was still only your lifetime ago, if even, and there weren't even any FE characters in SSB1. That said, I'm preeeetty sure what's meant is that it's the first crossover that doesn't also have a few dozen other series in the mix, therefore diminishing Fire Emblem's importance.
  11. Hmm... I'll do my two Avatars for this: TURKS Support: "Get your weapons ready!" / "Stay close." / "I'm with you, alright?" / "Let's do this." Dual Strike: "You're still standing?" / "Out of our way!" / "Just give up and go away..." / "Fall." Dual Guard: "Hey, watch it!" / "Heads up!" / "Look alive!" / "Oh no you don't!" Critical Hit/Attack Skill Proc: "You're in the way, move!" / "You've chosen the wrong target!" / "You're outmatched!" / "Time's up!" Victory: "I'll do whatever it takes..." / "Phew..." / "...You fought bravely." / "All clear." Victory (Partner killed enemy): "...Thanks." / "I owe you one." / "I had everything under control." / "Well done." Zero HP: "I... slipped up..." Death (text): "No... This can't be... how I die... I... won't... allow..." Retreat (text)*: "Argh... This is no good. I'll just be a nuisance in this state... I should fall back. Sorry, Chrom." VALENTINE Support: "I'm right here!" / "I won't let you fight alone!" / "Let's do this together!" / "We can take 'em!" Dual Strike: "Stand back!" / "I'll take this one!" / "You're not getting away that easy!" / "Together!" Dual Guard: "I've gotcha!" / "Don't you dare!" / "That was close..." / "You okay?" Critical Hit/Attack Skill Proc: "I'm sorry..." / "Please, stand down!" / "Don't underestimate me!" / "I'll not hold back!" Victory: "Rest in peace..." / "Please forgive me..." / "I have to press on." / "I only did what was necessary..." Victory (Partner killed enemy): "Thanks so much..." / "We're a great team!" / "Couldn't have done it without you!" / "Nice job!" Zero HP: "Gahhh!! O-Ow..." Death (text): "I... don't... want to die... Chrom... help, I'm... cold..." Retreat (text)*: "Ugh... I-I don't think I can fight like this... I have to get out of here. Everyone... Keep fighting! Don't give up!" *If they were regular party members/didn't give Game Over upon defeat in Casual/Newcomer.
  12. The thing is that how it's spelled in Japanese, "Clarine" should actually be pronounced "Clariné", which looks weird and doesn't really make sense next to the other names. "Clarina" maintains the three syllables and doesn't look as weirdly-different. ...Was my rational for that. Not really any reason Clarine wouldn't work fine too though I guess.
  13. Marth's world has actually had six games set in it now (plus one more if you're counting the Broadcast Satellite sidestories, and plus a separate two more if you count to remakes as their own games for as many as nine) since Jugdral is set in the same continuity, but many years in the past. So that makes a total of eight out of thirteen or nine out of fourteen games in the series focused on Marth's universe and continuity. It's not that all that many people hate Marth himself as much as they hate that his world/continuity gets so much more focus than the others. Now that that's out of the way, I have to say that I'm much more concerned about the quality of the sequel than I am about the world in which it's set. I'd be cool with either an original world or any preexisting world, so long as they did a good job and told a story that contributed to the overarching story of the world while taking care not to stomp on any previously defined canon. To be honest, I don't know about everyone else, but in the case of the next game being related to Awakening, I'd kinda like to see a midquel between the Archanea-Valentia trilogy and Awakening to perhaps give a little perspective on how and why the world changed the way it did while also giving some much-needed backstory and character depth to Grima.
  14. They have crappy bases (considering their promotion tier) but phenomenal growth rates (which they come early enough to make use of without too much hassle) with which they're still likely to make it up to among the stronger characters on your team within a pretty reasonable amount of time.
  15. Ah, thanks, I updated the name list. As for localizations... "By region", I guess? I mean, since I live in North America I had that region's localizations in mind when I typed that, but the European version would obviously use the official localizations for that region instead, where they differ.
  16. Okay, so I realize that this isn't the first time this has been posted about, but for some reason this old bootleg Fire Emblem game caught my eye. I was able to track down a ROM of it and start playing it a little. I don't really fully understand the way the game is structured, but I did take several screenshots of it. I'm kinda curious what the characters' names are (although I've heard the main hero is just "Marth" despite looking like a blonde Leif), so if anyone who knows Chinese can provide translations of any of this, however basic, it'd be much appreciated. [spoiler=Screenshots]The title screen. The main title and subtitle are actually pretty nicely animated which is neat. Doesn't have the traditional Fire Emblem theme for this screen, though, which is kinda not surprising. Some intro snapshots. The text in this part goes by really fast; I dunno if it'd be easily readable even for a native speaker of Chinese. And now we get to starting a new game. This Shield of Seals pops up with some more of what I can only assume is expository narration. Here is, of course, Firstboss McBanditman, as per series standard, giving some cocky rant probably. Player and Enemy Phase banners. Basic map menu and unit command menu, respectively. Some snapshots of the battle preview and interface. Characters seem to have little damage knockback animations which the official series didn't have until Path of Radiance, so that's pretty cool. Also, the battle theme's cool, but the intro's kinda long so you don't usually get to hear much of the rest of the song, sadly. And finally, all the starting team's stat pages as well as a generic enemy's. Probably should've screencapped the boss instead but eh.
  17. I actually had the thought that I'd probably do some arc compilation packs: FE1+2+3, FE4+5 and FE6+7. Can't really speak much for 4+5 since I haven't played much of the Jugdral games, but here's what I'd do for Archanea-Valentia and Elibe assuming I had basically a bottomless budget. If you take issue with any of the proposed name changes please explain why instead of just saying that it's different and therefore it sucks. [spoiler=Archanea-Valentia Saga (1~3)]All officially localized names for characters, classes, locations, items and other content, where present, would be used. Otherwise, the names used in fan translations would be used unless otherwise specified. Additionally, graphics and sound would be updated to modern standards, with an option to switch between the new audio and previous versions from the settings menu. Multilanguage audio included for voice acting. ALL: Proper supports would be added, with support points acquired in the same manner as in Path of Radiance and lists of 3~7 support partners (C~A) for every character. If present, Reclassing would use Awakening-style class sets but otherwise be done as in Shadow Dragon and New Mystery of the Emblem. Increase the amount of EXP gained from each staff use or dance. Shadow Dragon and Mystery of the Emblem would retain all additional content from their existing remakes. Add Light and Dark magic for Bishops/Linde and Dark Mages/Sorcerers, respectively. Sorcerer class name changed to Sorceress for females with access to the class. Data transfer added to allow for small statistical bonuses (+stat/10) for returning characters. SHADOW DRAGON: Rebalance growth rates and bases in order to make as many characters viable as possible. Rebalance enemy distribution slightly for greater weapon type variation. Add a base Dark Mage and recruitable Soldier, as well as Halberdier promotion for Soldiers. Make Sidequest requirements less stupid. GAIDEN: Awakening-style makeover, since the basic gameplay concept is the same. Add EXP gain for healing/supportive magic use. Where applicable, update names of classes to be consistent with newer entries in the series. Revise most maps and give each location on the world map a unique combat map associated with it. Add named bosses for every required storyline battle. Replace "Sorcerer" with Dark Mage/Sorcerer line, make Exorcist a unique class. Add recruitable base Barbarian, Dark Mage. Bosses with "special" classes named after themselves would be reverted to regular classes like everyone else. MYSTERY OF THE EMBLEM: Nerf My Unit/Avatar to be more on-par with other allies, increase base class options for both genders, add more customization options, (skin tone, eye color, more hair colors, outfit color and type, the latter being based on class somewhat with some options shared between some classes). Moderately increase difficulty of sidequest requirements. Recruitable base Dark Mage and Soldier as well as Halberdier class would return. Add recruitable base Barbarian, Pirate. Add "Easy" difficulty for newcomers, (since even on Normal mode New Mystery is still one of the tougher FEs I've played) all other difficulties retained. Support lists kept consistent with Shadow Dragon's wherever possible, (read: where Boah isn't dead). While support ranks would be wiped clean, gaining back support ranks from a Shadow Dragon playthrough would take half the time and be accompanied by new conversations. NAMES: Gaiden: Ruka -> Luca Robin -> Jay (to prevent name overlap with Awakening's Robin) Fols -> Force Paison -> Python Machilda -> Mathilda Dute -> Judith Teeta -> Tita Zeke -> Ezekiel (the name "Zeke" is short for, also sounds more knightly) Sevr -> Severus Kamui -> Camden Leo -> Leon Jesey -> Jesse Sonia -> Sondra (to prevent overlap with Blazing Sword's Sonia) Rima IV -> Riemer IV Dozer -> Deauze Rudolph -> Randolph (due to Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer) New Mystery: Samto (サムトー) -> Samther Ellerean (エルレーン) -> Elraine Sheema (シーマ) -> Shiema Belf (ベルフ) -> Ferris (Belf is just a totally bizarre nonsensical name I don't even know what to do about it and Ferris is closer than Virgil) Robert (ロベルト) -> Roberto (Roberto's a real name jeez. Also the katakana is pronounced closer to Roberto than it is to Robert) Kleine (クライネ) -> Kleina Eremiya (エレミヤ) -> Arimea (Eremiah looks like it's pronounced like Jeremiah minus the J (because it's kinda spelled that way too) and that's not correct) [spoiler=Elibe Saga (6+7)]All officially localized names for characters, classes, locations, items and other content, where present, would be used. Otherwise, the names given in fan translations would be used unless otherwise specified. Additionally, graphics and sound would be updated to modern standards, with an option to switch between the new and original audio from the settings menu. Multilanguage audio included for voice acting. BOTH: Support point gain revised to Path of Radiance's system. Conversations can be activated either during battle or from the preparations menu. "Talk" and "Support" commands changed to "free" actions a la "Trade". Replace Link Arena with FEDS-style link battles. Increase the amount of EXP gained from each staff use or dance/musical performance. Save data transfer system that grants small stat bonuses to returning characters (+stat/10) and halve support points necessary to attain recurring support pairs. With the exception of those with set parents, (Fir and the Etrurian siblings) children of Blazing Sword characters would inherit their non-attached parent's hair color and some growth inclinations if their attached parent reached A support with a love interest. If not, or if their parent forged a nonromantic A support instead, they'll have their original hair color and growth rates instead. Romantic couples in Blazing Sword wherein neither member is a canon parent of a Binding Blade character would have children (by specific pair, not by mother or father) who would be recruitable in Binding Blade. BLAZING SWORD: Add recruitable base Brigand and Soldier, as well as Halberdier promotion for Soldier. Allow for a selection between Lyn's and Eliwood's tales at the start of a new file as well as the disabling of tutorials in Lyn's tale without requiring a completed game file. Add a choice between the classic tactician character, My Unit or no tactician/custom character at the start of the game. BINDING BLADE: Retain the addition of Halberdier class, add recruitable base Soldier character. Update RNG formula and rebalance hit rates. Add (a lot of) paired endings unrelated to Roy. Modify Gonzales' bases to change in accordance with his starting level (for the first route split). Make Nomad line vulnerable to cavalry-slaying weapons. Move Guinevere's recruitment to the main story and give both her and Lilina "Lord" status, as well as the custom classes to go with it.. Add all promotional Trial Maps into the game. Add additional sidequests not related to legendary weapons and use some of them to introduce and incorporate Al (Mercenary or his own personal class), Gant (Knight) and Tiena (Cleric) into the story as recruitable allies, move said characters' special equipment into their respective inventories. Increase Wendy and Sophia's bases and growths to make them at least sorta kinda maybe worth the effort. Increase Lilina's starting level slightly and adjust her bases to match. NAMES: Bors -> Borris Dieck -> Deke Clarine -> Clarina Rutoga -> Rutger Astohl -> Astor Ogier -> Oujay Thite -> Tate Miledy -> Melody (Sounds similar enough and Melody's a real name) Niime -> Nimae (To make the pronunciation clearer to those not in the know about the original language) Idoun -> Iden
  18. I largely just use DLC!Marth because he gets a unique model (sort of; a unique head on unpromoted Lucina's body) and class as well as artwork to match by one of the cooler artists the series has had over the years. How much I want to use other characters is kind of determined by how well the avatar parts used are able to capture their appearance. Characters like Leonardo or Lyn, who look decently like themselves, are more likely to be used than, say, Seth or Lilina who barely match their original appearances. I do like using Est, however, due to her absurd skills and low starting level. I might also use Catria (her new artwork is rad) and Katarina if/when I unlock them, too. I generally fill up most of my slots with other players' Avatars, though, with priority going to my brother's and cousin's characters, as well as to Levi, the first non-random StreetPass character I received.
  19. To be honest, I don't really dislike hardly anyone as a character. There are some who I dislike as people and would probably smack in the face (or refuse to touch with a 50-foot pole in Tharja's case) if they really existed, but as characters I don't really have any huge beef with any of them, only disappointment in the writers. Kellam's gimmick being overused has already been mentioned multiple times. Ranger Jack Walker wrote up a wonderful essay on how they did Cain had a way better survivor story than Cordelia and I agree with it. Nah's probably the one I have the lowest opinion of out of the cast. To be honest, if anyone treated me the way she treats others I'd probably just refuse to even interact with them unless it was somehow absolutely necessary. Also, Gangrel's motivations (as revealed in his supports with MaMU) alone would've gone a long way towards incorporating both the transition to Valm and Gangrel's recruitment into the main storyline more effectively. Tharja as a character is alright but the writers' trying to pass off child and spousal abuse as comedic ain't even a little bit cool. Frankly, a lot of my complaints have to do more with how characters are written and incorporated into the story than the characters themselves, since I feel that giving these same concepts for characters to a better writing staff would solve almost all their problems, as well as those with the story.
  20. Okay, so I know that this isn't really "optimization" in the sense that a lot of people mean it, but a night or so ago I decided to sit down and make a chart of what pairings would be possible for each child such as to maximize the number of classes available to them. Avatar is excluded from the parent listings, as s/he always passes down access to all normal classes. While these lists were created mostly for my own convenience, I hope you all can perhaps get some use out of them as well. [spoiler=Search by father]CHROM can father... 21. I made some custom legacy and other-series characters in the Avatar creator: Other Fire Emblem characters: *Note: Archanea/Akaneia saga characters' Assets and Flaws are selected based on stats relative to other units in their game. Otherwise everyone's flaw would be Resistance or the offensive stat they don't use. CASTOR: Class: Bow Knight Build 1 Face 3 Hair 2 Hair Color 12 +Skill, -Speed ROGER: Class: Knight Build 1 Face 2 Hair 1 Hair Color 6 -or- 18 (depending on whether you see his hair as more pink or more purple I guess) +Luck, -Skill LEILA: Class: Thief Build 3 Face 1 Hair 2 Hair Color 11 +Speed, -HP Tales characters: GUY CECIL (Tales of the Abyss): Class: Myrmidon/Swordmaster Build 1 Face 2 Hair 5 Hair Color 17 +Speed, -Defense NATALIA LUZU KIMLASCA-LANVALDEAR (Tales of the Abyss): Class: Archer/Sniper (Bride for bows+healing?) Build 1 Face 1 Hair 2 Hair Color 17 +Luck, -Strength CHESTER BURKLIGHT (Tales of Phantasia): Class: Archer/Sniper Build 1 Face 2 Hair 3 Hair Color 12 +Strength, -Luck Note that Tales characters Assets and Flaws are based mainly on in-game stat balances and, where that fails me, on the character themselves and how I think they'd be adapted to Fire Emblem context. Guy's are purely based on in-game stats. Natalia's Flaw of Strength is due to her having the lowest Physical Attack stat of all the party members who are primarily physical, offensively. Her having Luck as an asset is mainly because I feel it fits her character and none of her in-game stats really stood out as the obvious choice. Chester's Asset of Strength is due to his individual attacks being quite powerful despite his inability to combo. His Flaw of Luck is due to him being left behind for about two thirds of the game and returning underleveled, as well as seemingly receiving the least developer focus out of all the recruitable party members in the SNES/SFC version.
  22. Okay so, since this seems to be where things like this usually go, I'm gonna put this here. Mods, do feel free to move this if you find this thread placement unacceptable. The main characters are the twin princes of a nation that I think is sorta vaguely based on India or something near there. I'm not entirely sure about the meaningless early game chapters, but there's a tower that's said to hold a special power that allegedly grants wishes or perhaps even allows those who possess it to basically become gods, or so various sources would lead one to believe. The two princes discover that a powerful sorceress has her eye on this power and set out to stop her, something they have to do "unofficially" and without asking for political aid because said sorceress has good publicity (and also isn't nearly as Obviously Evil as, say, Validar is) and a pair of kids telling people "She's up to something villainous" probably would either be dismissed, laughed at or in worst cases even punished. Throughout this leg of the journey, one of the princes muses that this power must be something truly amazing, and thinks how much he could accomplish and how much he could improve life not only for his own country but for the world with such a power. The two face off with and successfully slay the sorceress in a fakeout "Final Chapter" (the number of which would not be displayed on the file select and save screens; only the name, to aid in the effect: i.e: Just "Closing the Chronicle" instead of "Chapter #: Closing the Chronicle" or something. Dunno what the final name will be. The following chapters would have their numbers displayed, though, and this fakeout final chapter would be counted as the number that would logically be attributed to it.) I am not sure precisely how this happens, but I know that their father dies at some point prior to what happens next: Hearing of worrying movements back home, one of the princes (the one who wasn't musing about the legendary power) heads back to investigate, only to find that his twin brother, who has taken the throne in their father's absence, is readying his troops to go to war with the nation in whose territory the legendary tower falls. I haven't yet thought this through fully, but I know that the brother who took the throne and sought the legendary power is the last boss, and there may also be a princess of their nation, although I know that no matter what it will be set up such that a maximum of two of the siblings were born from the same pregnancy. The game format will likely be in the same vein as more linear FEs like Path of Radiance, Blazing Sword, Shadow Dragon, etc. so no world map or infinite grinding or anything. Still on the fence about branching promotions, though, and if they are present I might do them differently from how Sacred Stones and Awakening did them. Probably I'd make them rather secret and sorta out of the way in a lot of cases; just promoting normally always makes you the "default" promotion. (Cavalier -> Paladin, Mercenary -> Hero, Mage -> Sage, etc.) Even the lead character might have branching promotions if I can make it work. His'd probably be harder to get, though, and would likely tie into branching story paths/story-affecting choices. Also, the main character isn't quite the standard FE prince... For one thing he doesn't have blue hair, but I'm pretty sure I'm gonna give him a weapon selection that doesn't include swords as well. There are some other ways in which he differs, too, but that's one thing that I'm probably going to leave for people to find out from the story itself if this is ever made.
  23. Apparently it actually sorta does because button input affects the RNG but you'd need frame-perfect timing to get it to work in your favor. It's certainly not an intentional game mechanic, though.
  24. In response to the first paragraph, I concur that I was wrong and I amended my post. As for the second one, I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to say? The two continents are undeniably Archanea/Akaneia and Valentia; this is pretty clearly canon. What I'm saying post-correction is that while Valentia has come to be known as Valm, Archanea/Akaneia's present name isn't ever mentioned. We're only given the names of (the only?) three countries currently on it. ...Having a little "world introduction" thing like all the other FEs have at the beginning/in between the Premonition and the Prologue would have solved all of this.
  25. Actually, in all honesty, I don't recall them mentioning the name of the Eastern continent at all. Ylisse is just one country on it, like Plegia and Regna Ferox. The continent itself isn't named. On topic, I generally pronounce her English name "Core-DEE-lee-uh".
