  1. Actually I'd probably do this too. But then I could just use its powers to heal myself right back up again.
  2. Actually, fun fact, I believe Morgan's appearance is made from Build 2 Avatar elements. I could be wrong, though. Agreed. I'm not really sure why stalking is worse than child (and husband) abuse, but okay. Anyway, getting/seeing more of her supports has actually caused Tharja to grow on me quite a bit. She may come off as creepy and malevolent (which is still not really untrue) but she has this sort of unexpected kind side to her that adds depth to her character and makes her more interesting and tolerable. At least, in my opinion. Also, what, people hate Maribelle? That's news to me. She's one of my favorite characters, personality-wise. I really like Donnel. Efficiency be damned, because the game is freaking endless and he will be one of your best units (at least for a while) if you let him. Gangrel is actually one of my favorite characters in the game; he has a cool design, and although there's every possibility I was just reading too much into his lines, he seems to actually have a good degree of depth (and screen time relative to the length of his arc) which really helps his case. I like Nowi, probably in part because her actually being around 1,000 years old actually does make her marrying and having a kid far less disturbing to me. Sumia is just boring as hell. Conversely, Cynthia is actually pretty cute, both in personality and appearance, although the latter might be somewhat improved if the main body of her hair wasn't so slicked to her scalp. Cordelia actually annoys me a lot. Her only character "flaw" seems to be being too hardworking and selfless, which is really pretentious. And then there's the fact that she's confirmedly based on Catria, which does her no favors, since I'm not too keen on Catria (she's my least favorite of the Archanean Pegasus Knights, although I don't actively dislike her) and the way that fact mixes with her main personality sort of gives the impression that we're supposed to like her in particular. Which is also really pretentious. I'll like whoever I diddly darn well please, thank you very much. I'm probably the only one who thinks Aversa makes an adorable good "guy". Well, at least the only one who'd actually describe it like that. You know, there was actually a point where my opinion of literally every unpromoted Mage in the game was so low that I was planning to just use promoted healers, reclassed others and StreetPass people for my magical needs. This opinion has mostly been turned around, although I don't like Ricken so much in his supports, because despite wanting to be treated like an adult, he doesn't really seem to be working towards earning it. There's more to being an adult than being good at slaughtering people, Ricken.
  3. Finally, someone questions it. Ahahaha, oh Gharnef. Anyway, I think I may have some Thracia characters you haven't listed yet. I'll look into it and maybe get you some new quotes to add to the list. EDIT: Alrighty, here's... Finn >Parley: I am Finn, a knight of Leonster. >Battle: I accept your challenge! >Recruit: You seek an alliance?
  4. Inigo also uses it as a fruit knife, and I'd assume Kjelle, Cynthia and Brady do as well, though I've never actually gotten those supports. Anyway, that said, I would probably alternate between just looking at the Falchion and thinking how cool it was to actually have it and using it to hack down tall grass in the back yard, Link style. Way more fun than a weed whacker. Of course it would also be my weapon of choice in case of adventure crisis time.
  5. Wait, you didn't count characters appearing in more than one game at all? Or did you just only count each of them once? Because the former would be stupid and erroneous.
  6. I seriously can't believe I'm the only one here who wants some DLC-original content. As in, completely new character(s) and setting(s). As in, not lazily reusing old assets with shiny new coats of paint (as much as I adore Alm, Seliph and Celica's DLC artwork). Something completely new, made just for FE:A DLC. That'd be awesome.
  7. Just so you know, Dieck does have a localized name, sort of; Super Smash Bros. Brawl calls him Deke. (He's a sticker) Anyway, some SpotPass people I'd've liked to see, hmm... Cain, Abel and Jagen, definitely. Perhaps Gordin and Draug as well. They're just so iconic, although I can accept axing a few of them so that the character inclusion is more widely spread. That none of them are present, though, is confusing. I suspect it has to do with their lack of revamped artwork. I'd also have liked it if they had either A: Had separate SpotPass teams for Mystery and New Mystery or B: included more characters from FE3 in its SpotPass team instead of making it basically an FE12 SpotPass team. The New Mystery team could have the added characters from FE11 minus Nagi, and then Katarina, Legion and both genders of Kris could fill the remaining spots. Or keep Nagi and replace the Krisses with Eremiah. This way the FE3 team could focus on FE3 without needing to omit the characters added in the DS remakes. It would've been kinda awesome and kinda hilarious if after all this time poor unused Sabre finally showed up as Shadow Dragon SpotPass. Not that it'd be remotely likely or plausible or meaningful or anything of the kind, I'd just find it awesomely hilarious and use him every playthrough. I'm adding my vote to the SpotPass Pent count. Canas, Lucius or Erk would've been nice, too. To be honest, I don't really understand why Karel's there at all. He's not particularly memorable and you can play through FE7 entirely without even knowing he exists. I would've put someone more memorable there, personally; like Guy! He's Western players' Navarre/Nabarl. Jenny for the Gaiden team because she's adorable. Fae for the Binding Blade team because of the aforementioned reason and because SpotPass!Tiki clearly shows IS has no problems giving additional Manaketes through the Bonus Box. Also either Gonzales or Geese, because then we could have a character with Barbarian as their base class. Also Gonzales doesn't get enough love. Teeta/Tita from Gaiden because of her importance through her connection to Camus. Sacred Stones team, I would've slipped in Tana somewhere, although having L'Arachel as a War Cleric redeems that team forever already. Why the hell is Greil not in the PoR team. I also probably would've switched some things around, putting Nephenee in the Radiance team and devoting the Radiant Dawn team to new characters made for/newly-recruitable in that game. I can't really comment on the Jugdrali teams as I haven't played very much into their games, (Haven't even cleared the prologue in either) so I'll just say that their choice of characters is alright. She'd look adorable in it, though. ...Olivia's outfit is cute okay?
  8. I personally find this new form/Pokemon/whatever adorable and I like how it's sort of more Mewlike than Mewtwo is. Although, I do understand why so many people don't like it, despite not sharing their opinions.
  9. I'd give every male character Soldier and every female character Merchant. What'cha gonna do IS.
  10. So, since I've so far taken a good deal of joy in collecting StreetPass characters (especially the random ones I can claim as my own), I thought it would be interesting to ask you guys what sorts of StreetPass encounters you've had. What characters did you meet? Did you recruit them, buy their stuff or just dismiss them? If you recruited them, did you use them or just bench them; how did they perform? If you bought stuff from them, what sorts of stuff did you get? Obviously, as the OP, it's my responsibility to begin with my own story, so I think I shall: My very first SpotPass encounter was with a man named Levi, whose Avatar was tremendously powerful, with all stats maxed (save Resistance which was (note the past tense) a mere point away from its cap), and popped up right on top of the Longfort, blocking my wimpy early-game team from getting Reeking Boxes to build funds. So I spent all day in Champions of Yore 1, building money to pay the 29,500G necessary to recruit Levi to my team. In the end, I succeeded, and recruited Levi. He's proven himself quite useful for sequence breaking the DLC (in the context of the main game) to get me the characters far earlier than I'm supposed to. Not to mention he has the added bonus of a cool appearance and voice. I've also received plenty of random StreetPass characters (eleven so far) who will be detailed along with Levi in the following spoiler box: [spoiler=StreetPass Roster]Notes: All blank (-----) entry fields will not be included in the below profiles. Appearance: Male, Build 2, Face 2, Hair 4, Hair Color 2 It's sort of a silly goal of mine to at some point be able to make a whole FE cast out of randomized StreetPass characters, which would require at least 20 (for a short FE) but 29 is also a nice goal, that being Fire Emblem Gaiden's headcount; the lowest in the series, obviously not counting BSFE. If/when I achieve this goal, I might make a hack starring them, when my hacking skills become... existent. Of course, they'll all be characterized and able to support each other and all that cool stuff. Should be interesting at least.
  11. You could get thrifty and have an extra two files that exist only as battle saves, although those two would have to be Casual. You'd probably end up in an epic battle against muscle memory after finishing battles, though. Anyway, my Avatar married Panne, because I'm a sucker for cute nonhuman characters (hey, she counts; she does show a cute side in the S support with the Avatar, at least), and I like the family she makes with the Avatar, Yarne and Morgan. (Plus Yarne looks pretty cool with that purple hair tuft) I guess I can also sort of relate to their family (and Chrom's, coincidentally) in that I grew up in a two-child household. (Although I'm a guy with a younger brother) Also, as overplayed as the whole "last of his/her kind" thing is, I find it really sweet when those characters actually get happy endings instead of obligatory deaths or something. Yeah, I know Panne can get a happy ending with any of the non-Chrom first gen guys, but pairing her with the Avatar is just nicer, I think. At least so far as I've experimented, they seem to have the sweetest and most mutually-respectful relationship. Of course, there's also the sort of amusement factor of the whole "Do not think us friends, you and I!" ...and then they made babies. Also bunnies are cute, I like Yarne and the idea of a fluffy bunny Morgan is just adorable. (My headcanon is that the face graphic and model being merely recolored is just laziness on the graphic team's part and Panne-mothered Morgan does actually have bunny ears like her mom and big bro) Although, I do actually kind of have a growing affinity for AvatarxTharja, if only because it's the closest thing to a "canon" pairing for the Avatar and I find it nice only in that it's so different from the sorts of relationships most medieval fantasy heroes end up in. Tharja is also a good example of a character I like as a character but not as a person, and (apparently) oddly I'm not actually particularly physically attracted to her, either, as FE:A females go. (Probably irrelevant, but I'd rank Panne, Aversa and Flavia higher in that regard, to name a few examples.) Aversa is also going to have a male Avatar's baby someday, mark my words. I think she makes a cute good "guy". I presently don't really have a pairing set for a female Avatar, but I'd probably have her marry Gangrel or maybe Yen'fay when I get around to playing a FeMU file. Basilio is also an option, although I'm more curious as to what hair color he gives Morgan than anything. Oh, fun fact; there are multiple possible brother-sister and sister-sister sibling combinations for Chrom and the Avatar's families, but no potential brother-brother familial relationships exist in the game at all, unless we're counting the legacy characters, in which case we have Seliph and Julius, Lugh and Raigh and the Reed brothers.
  12. Lucina isn't Marth, though. Anyway, I use DLC Marth, 'cause he's got cool artwork, he can be recruited easily as early as after clearing Chapter 4 (at which point he'll join right on par with everyone else, or at least not far behind) and he comes with some exclusive skills. That and if I'm gonna use any Marth I'll use the one I payed for. Same with all legacy characters, really, and their spiffy new artwork. (Except DLC!Ike. His artwork is dumb)
  13. I've had lots of one-sided EliwoodxRoy. And Leif has had an unrequited crush on Marth for a while now.
  14. You can't redistribute the attribute bonuses, though. Once you've used all eight all forging lets you do is change the name.
  15. Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's just "Thunderation!". Sorry it's not something more interesting.
  16. I like Micaiah more because of reasons that are entirely unrelated to anything important or substantial. She's a white-haired "Lord" who uses Light magic and is a girl, thus making her instantly super different from every other lord ever except Celica who she's still pretty different from. The fact that Radiant Dawn faked me out making me think Micaiah would be the main protagonist and then SUDDENLY ELINCIA followed by SUDDENLY IKE made me mad so that loses him points. You can make Micaiah an Archsage on a horse in Awakening. So there. Also I like Lyn. She is to me as Marth is to... well, apparently the better portion of the Japanese segment of the Fire Emblem fanbase. She is my first Lord and I love her for that and this is not up for debate. Also I would like to contribute to the fanart stuff or whatever: This makes me wish my copy of Radiant Dawn was actually playable. It's scratched up so the battle animations can't play and this is a problem because event promotions and those always have animations turned on so my disc is basically a demo copy because of Micaiah's autopromotion after Chapter 10.
  17. The way I see it, it's just idiocy to attempt to hang a person's identity on one single "defining" trait. What makes a person unique is every single trait they have, all their past experiences, all their thoughts and interests and dreams and hopes for the future. Even though individual traits are going to overlap with numerous other peoples', it's all but impossible to find someone whose traits, thoughts, passions, hopes, dreams and circumstances are literally identical to someone else's. This is what makes a person unique. Not having one single trait that defines them, but the combination of every last aspect of their being is what makes them irreplicable.
  18. I'm going to say that they're named more for their foreboding aesthetic than their actual function as a class. (That and no one would use Sorcerers if they had the option of Sorcerer ON A HORSE WITH SWORDS right next to it, although Aversa and DLC Micaiah and Katarina actually do have that option. Then again, they can also be flying Sorcerers with Lance access (Dark Flier), or horseback Archsages (Valkyrie), so...) Also, I would've translated "mājinaito" as "Magiknight" because puns and also I enjoy poking fun at phonetically-incorrect spellings of loanwords/names in Japanese. And before it's brought up yes I know the "k" in "knight" is silent don't ruin my pun.
  19. None of the three natural Pegasus Knights in this game really appeal to me. This kind of disappoints me, because I've been really, really trying to like Pegasus Knights more, and let me tell you, Awakening's not making it easy. There isn't a third Cavalier. Even in Sacred Stones, with its relatively small roster, you got three cavaliers. In Awakening? Just Sully and Stahl, and that's it for the rest of the game without reclassing (or marrying one of them to your Avatar). Hey, on this subject, if Anacybele or someone else whose girl Avatar married Frederick comes by, does he make Morgan a Cavalier or a Knight? No second Fighter. Same basic problem as the above; I am just generally not too fond of the recruitable unit base class distribution in this game, including... No recruitable Barbarian, and Soldiers are once again enemy-only despite Tellius proving that they are very workable as a player-controlled class. What gives? The way Paralogues work. I mean, I kind of understand why they'd do it the way they did, but it makes it feel a lot less special if the requirements for unlocking them are just, "Clear Chapter _" Or "Clear Chapter _ and [female character] is Married", and then you're able to challenge the chapters whenever the heck you want. It's a lot more interesting if you have to actually earn the sidequests and it's possible to miss them forever. Manakete and Taguel mastery skills only being usable in their native classes. Perma-supereffectiveness against 85% of mounted units WOULD be a good skill to have, except... You can't pass down DLC skills. So no girls with Aggressor or boys with Bond. Looks like only Brady, Seliph and Jaffar (and maybe Jamke?) will be able to pull of that Aggressor+Galeforce+Lifetaker combo I had in mind... Actually, I'm sure Inigo and Owain can, too, with the right fathers, (ones that give them access Dark Knight through either Mage or Dark Mage). And, of course, a male Morgan can pull it off if he inherits Galeforce from dear old Mom. ...Okay, mostly I just wanted some of the girls to get to use that skill combo, too. But I'm sure I can work out equally (or even more) powerful skill sets for them, anyway.
