  1. Is her hair supposed to be uneven? I think it's fine as it is: the uniformity kind of suits Frederick's formal nature. The unevenness from a pony comes from trimming when the hair is down; if she trimmed with the pony up the broomstick end is not hard to make. /tragic experience
  2. Victim of a palette implosion.
  3. *stares at compilation sheet* *looks at Roy* *looks at Al* ...So, what exactly are you looking for? Just a restyle of everything to make it look different? Touchup work on official mugs? Mad racing to beautify personal favorites? Competition for best Sue?
  4. 3M Poster strips work exceptionally well on standard walls (not so much on cement and heavy textures) and have done the best when it comes time to take it off (both the wall and the poster stay intact). Tad expensive but worth it imo.
  5. Lol okay (and awww)~ We might be able to do that more around the end if enough costumes/entries occur. I'm leaning towards arranging everything so custom-heavy themes aren't stacked together and closet raiding will be possible (minor backend stuff). Selection's still gonna be random. And ML whyyyy it hasn't even started :(
  6. lol fashion show + Merc challenge confirmed. @Jelly : Fixed. :P The standard beach-wear theme is probably gonna be the first round just to get things started and keep with tradition. Not sure if there's any more themes than that, but if there are I can add them to the pool. We didn't do a winter theme contest last year probably because of the FEA contest. Great ideas from everyone so far, hopefully it'll be a good show! Also, for anyone shy at putting their name on their work and just want to participate, anonymous entries are going to be allowed in this series (see how that works out).
  7. But Super Spriting Summer Series has 4 S's.... Tentative politically-correct, globally-inclusive name pending.
  8. Update 6/15: Too complicated, rules scrapped~ Update 6/2: This series is being winged. Themes and records will be hosted as seems appropriate. :) [spoiler=Pending series format and rules, in flux] *fanfare as begins the* Super Spriting Summer Series!!! ---- The Contest: Each week for 10 weeks, a theme is announced. The goal is to submit a sprite fulfilling the theme criteria within two weeks. They'll be officially showcased in the contest thread, late submissions will be posted when received. There will be standard poll voting for rounds that have more than 2 attributed entries. Contestants are free to participate in as many of the challenges that interest them. (Full participation in all 10 themes is not necessary.) Submissions: Submissions and theme ideas can be accepted via PM or by posting in the contest thread. Anonymous entries are allowed and will be showcased but will be displayed separate from known-author entries and not be put up for voting. The Rankings: Participants will be on an informal points-based system: points for top placing, points for completing by the deadline, points for completing a submission at all (but not past the final round). The way it's styled should reward you for participating but not penalize too severely for missing out on any of the 10 themes. What happens with the points? If there is enough participation, they will be put in a fun little matrix at the end of the series with the final ranks, maybe a Stahl Award will come up and things like that. The Prizes: Glory and Fame! ------ So would you be interested in participating, anything you want to see/change/etc? Themes and Timelines: Round 1 (active) : 6/1-6/15 Summer Beach Theme Rounds 2-10: TBA The Merc Challenge: For any of the themes, make it a fullbody* * Seriously I don't expect anyone to spend every/any week putting feets on mugs. If you want to go further than the standard shoulder-cutoff fer whatever, go ahead and knock yerselves out. ^^
  9. Happy Birthday! ^__^

  10. Making a request for a deadline extension in advance (as it's in the middle of finals and same week as the collabosium finish date).
  11. Daww, you should totally make a Chibi Emblem~ ^^ It reminds me of NES era with the colors used and just the stylisms, which isn't a bad thing, and the rider is good as-is, imo. The horse seems a little longer in the body than it should be, maybe scrunch the front end back a pixel? Ignoring the horse front/back leg and snout, not sure if going for anatomical correctness would improve the sprite. Overall looks pretty decent and I wouldn't mind seeing more~
  12. So worst case scenario, your partner drops out (or doesn't want to do the challenge) and you have to pull double weight to still get the same chance as others that do the bonus challenge cooperatively. Performance should either be a factor or it shouldn't. At the very least don't make rewards count where it's influenced by random matchups :(
  13. I'll go in for the battle sprites this time~
  14. Sad Lyn is coincidentally appropriate~ I'll try putting something out. Edit: done
  15. Must Moustache! Back to the picture though, I think it's pretty decent composition-wise and the dress came out nicely. Kelli's lips seem to be the only thing really out of place (they're the only outlined lips among the 4, and they're heavily outlined in black).
  16. I am comfortable with taking that route as long as it's ok with Astelaine . :P It opens up questions as to how far we can take the battle sprite business, though.
  17. Played around with the idea before. Take a model character from each FE class, get diverse fighting style options from there. Or build teams around an MU with assist-type famous characters. (Theme-wise kind of seeing it like Sengoku Basara X)
  18. (Love the amounts of helpful advice that comes out of this thread~) Ana, I wouldn't worry about 30 second drawings coming out terrible, or even if they're just bare stick-figures. The main thing is that you're learning how to identify and render a dynamic figure's bare essentials, with the result that you can use the same experience to your polished drawings. Dunno if this stock photo site's been referenced but it's worth giving the exercise a try. http://artists.pixel...figure-drawing/ (Edit: grammar)
  19. wins.setOpaque(true); add(wins); Really should do it. One more thing to watch out for is if you're running an old build?
  20. What're you trying to do in TheWord class? It doesn't make sense to reassign letter word.length times. I'm guessing you want to assign an array of letter labels within your construction method, using word. Declare your JLabel letter array up top along with word. I'm guessing this is what it should be. (Edit: Needed to initialize i in the for statement, too)
